Importing Kaiser to Hungary - Question to Hungarians

From misc. reasons I will visit Hungary next month. I wish to purchase the new Kaiser, and ask that it will be sent to Hungary.
Am I going to pay any special taxes? Am I going to have problem with local customs, or anything else I should be aware of?
Many thanks,
Amir.
I think you will have no problem with the costum. If you are citizen of any EU state and the PDA will be sent from a EU state, then definitly no problem. No only disadvantage is that you have to show me the Kaiser ! (It was a joke )
Thanks for your reply.
I'm non EU citizen. The package will be sent from the USA (outside the EY of course).
In my country there is authorization lists for cellular phones. Only cellular phones in that list will pass the customs. Other cell phone will be confiscated.
This is annoying and stupid but this is it.
Does in Hungary you can import any cellular phone (Kaiser etc..) with no problems? are any taxes should be payd for this?
P.S Be glad to show you the Kaiser (will be in Pecs and Budapest)
Amir.

[INFO] 2.2 (Froyo) News and Speculation Thread for Milestone

SOURCE:
facebook for motorola
read that theres gonna be a 2.2 for german o2 see here.................
lets hope its happening! not just a typo!
https://service.o2online.de/portal/...ustomerWebshopPostpaid&tariffId=N-HWO-H-NC-20
Webkit Browser - durch Android 2.2 Update Flash-fähig
...Englisch: Webkit browser- through Android 2.2 Update Flash-compatible
Nice!
Maybe we will see Froyo sometime soon.
Thanks for the heads up.
I just hope they ain't getting our hopes up for nothing.....
Too bad Motorola officially stated that it isn't yet even sure about a Milestone update. The O2 site is not Motorola. They may simply still believe what Moto said half a year ago - that the Milestone is Flash-ready, nothing more, nothing less.
i think i read Germany o2 was mistaken about the 2.2........
That's non-sense...they only say that flash WOULD work if 2.2 would be running...you shouldn't interpret to much in such sentences...

C'mon... the official froyo will be delivered by the end of Sep.
Not sure about this, its kind of contradicting. Although I don't know any german it states this is some sort of update for the webkit browser? Froyo's browser doesn't use webkit any more, it uses the V8 engine used in google chrome.
Motorola Milestone To Receive “Froyo” In September
Here's the link, folks:
Motorola Milestone To Receive “Froyo” In September
lolz! Look who is talking.
Its hard to trust company like O2 which is already a non-trustworthy company. It sold millions of O2 XDA in India and other countries without service and support network. I bought one a year back and after few months I discovered they discontinued the support in India and suggesting to send fauty devices for service to Singapore, another third country.
Lolz! As obviously they are just resellers of Milestone, it seems they are going to send same fake MotoFrenzy2.2 to us with some branding changes....damn you O2. Keep your mouth shut.
Let Motorola speak themselves.

Why you are not sure? Now www.seeo2.com was closed which was working fine before with all products and details. Now that link goes to www.myxda.com and select support and select india. wait....why trust me. Check this screenshot with address of thier site.
O2 does not produce anything. They are simply resellers. They have different websites in different countries, but all of them are not properly organized and sell same devices with different names. If they are manufactures why they will sell models from sony, motorola, etc together on thier site? e.g. http://www.o2online.de/ sells blackberry samsung vivaz nokia netzabdeckung htc motorola surfstick milestone sony ericsson palm pre X6 X10 n97 mini iphone toshiba. its so funny to see all companies in one site. it looks like some kind of ebay shop.
Anyways check the screenshot about singapore service center notification. Now why someone will send his mobile to another country for repair? It is not logical and not even practical at the same time.
I dont trust it now at all. others may trust who dont know what o2 is...

O2 is a cell phone provider, i.e. they have a network, like Sprint or Verizon in the US, and they will sell you a phone to use on it, along with a contract. What's so unusual about that?
I don't know how coordinated they are internationally, so it's entirely possible the service is bad in one country but great in another, but no reason to bash them like this.
In Germany, Vodafone (another provider) and O2 ship customized firmware on their Milestones, which they test in-house. Same for other providers in other countries. That's why the 2.1 rollout was so fragmented, and that's also why O2 would know if 2.2 is coming, so there.

I'd suggest you do some research
V8 is a JavaScript engine, while WebKit is a complete browser engine. The two will happily run side by side in the same browser as long as you deactivate WebKit's built-in JavaScript engine.
Google has been doing just that in Chrome for a while now, and tweaked V8 for mobile use in Froyo. That doesn't mean they dropped WebKit though

I exactly meant what you said "they are not manufacturers." obviously I will express my own experience in my own country. O2 does not exist in India, they sold handsets with different branded outlets, gave support contract to some Indian local companies who never gave proper service and now they are telling us to send device to "Expansys, Singapore" This is so frustrating. I had to get it repaired by paying heavy amount from private service cente while in warranty and I could not even complain and the seller told me to send it to singapore. Bad O2, at least in India.
edit: O2 actually should not declare things like this on its own and wait for original manufacturers. Motorola is doubtfully quiet and others are declaring on thier own. I still hope Motorola will roll 2.2 froyo in next few months after all previous devices are rolled with 2.1 update. 2.1-update1 is still rolling down all over the world to many devices as per reports from android users from different countries with different brands. I got mine around 15 July.

None of the providers are manufacturers. None. They all provide/resell phones for several manufacturers. Unless what you are saying is that the subsidiaries or O2 partners in your country are selling phones but not servicing them?
O2 can declare what they want. Why do they have to 'wait on Motorola'? They are a major provider and would surely know better than you or me if an update is in the works. Maybe they heard something from Motorola that was not declared publicly.

Besides what they are saying on the site is as above:
Flash would work only IF Android 2.2 is on your phone.
More 2.2 news, this time from Optus in Australia:
http://ausdroid.net/2010/08/05/android-2-2-for-motorola-milestone-before-the-years-end/
o2 is a provider which, like almost every other provider, HAS software developers who does branding, updates and app-development, so I am SURE that o2 will provide a 2.2 update, no matter what Motorola will or won't do.

Samsung support: beware!

This is not really S5 specific but I wanted to share my frustration with Samsung support anyway, as this could happen to S5 owners too. I am in the Netherlands and bought a Samsung product here in the Netherlands but it is also sold in the US. I was having problems with this product and tried to google for a solution, I couldn' t find a solution but did find the US support page, I contacted the chat, they referred me to the dutch support but as it is a holiday here they are closed, so I came back to the US support who seemed to be manned. They refused to give me any answers, instead referring that they only can give support for products sold in the US. I give them the US page for the product I need support for, again the same answer only support for products sold in the US. So I tell if I need to set up a US VPN to get help.... and I eventually do I and get a different operator and ask the same question. I am asked if I am from Holland and I think WTF, I am using a VPN service, check my IP and yes I am in the US. So I try a different VPN and ask the same question, I am asked the same question: if I bought the product in the Netherlands, now I decide to outright lie and tell the operator I bought the product in Chicago (where I appear to be) and he just answered my question...
So, one person out of millions with a fairly abnormal situation has a bad experience with Samsung support and now all S5 owners should take caution?
Most S5 owners bought their phone through a carrier and 9 times out of 10 won't even have to deal with Samsung if an issue arises.
Call me crabby, but I see this as essentially a non-issue. Oh, and sorry you had to go through that bad experience.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
And this is a problem because....i mean you buy from US, you get US service, you buy dutch, you get dutch service. It's not Samsung's fault your country has a holiday. There are many reasons why companies dont deal with outside countries. Rules, regulations, laws, language barriers. This is not Samsung's problem, this is your problem, nothing to do with the quality of customer service.
As an example, the European union, and Canada has rules that states that even if your warranty is over, the company is still responsible for their products if its within a reasonable delay of the end of warranty. Basically, if you buy a tablet, and you tablet breaks 2 months after warranty ended, by law, the company is obliged to service the product, this is not the fact in most other countries. You can't train an employee to understand all laws from all countries. For legal purposes, agents can only speak to customers that fall within their jurisdiction. Samsung, and many other companies do this because they do not want to be accountable for answers that dont reflect reality and then get sued for it.
Hey guys! Do not protect Samsung. Remember that the customer service is always the bad guys. Its bunch of part time afterschool workers who do not care. I have dealt with samsung, sony and HTC several times, it's always the same "retarded" answers I get. That said I do not know what we can learn from this thread. Everybody knows that when you buy hardware from the worlds biggest companies you are on your own if something happens....
What a lot of drivel! How ridiculous, you expect support from US for product you bought in another country where you live, where is the logic?
Nice thread.. hahaha

Overseas Assistance

Greetings,
Long time iOS user who's looking to switch to Android while I'm stationed in Japan (US Navy) for the next two years. That said, I'm presently visiting Korea and have an opportunity to purchase a Note 5 (unlocked) and bring it back to Japan with me. Unfortuantely, I can't seem to find a good breakdown of compatibilty to see if it'll be as effective and easy to use as if I were to just get a S6straight from one of the Japanese carriers.
I'm requesting assistance from the experts here to see:
1. Will an unlocked Note 5 work on all the LTE bands in Japan, specifically DoCoMo.
2. How easy is it to take a phone that's unlocked and start a new contract in Japan (bought new/from the company when I was last here).
Thank you in advance!
