Dear xda's
My first post so pls bare with me for a second.
I tried the FAQ and searched but can't seem to find the answer to my question there. Hence here it goes:
At start up I see a black key pad where i have to type in my PIN nr.
for calls there is a blank (white) keypad.
Is there a way to make the call keypad black as well?
thnx for the advice
What you are looking for is a dialer skin.
There are several available for the default (HTC) dialer, for the WM dialer (uses less memory, see my signature) and various other dialers.

I'm looking for larger dialpad buttons? I've seen a lot of crap all over the place which is more of a piece together and there is always SOMEONE posting with bad news... such as "can't uninstall it" or "smart dial doesn't work" etc...
Is there a fully functioning (even if I have to pay money) keypad (dial screen buttons) with big buttons on it?
Thanks in advance!
try netcom smart dialer 2.5 - not free
There is another called reTOUCHed_Dialer2. This has much bigger buttons and easier than the built-in layout.
I am hoping somebody will have one with a different skin, though. The straight black keys are not my thing.

The reTOUCHed Dialer can be "skinned" (and I've seen a few). If you look at Dutty's planned no. 7 rom that dialer will be in it, and it will have blue/green buttons. I think Schaps' has it with purple.
Basically the dialer mainly consists of graphics for the backgrounds and buttons. You just need to edit all of them in an grapics program and you can modify it to how you want it.
Here's the cab for the standard Touch looking one.
I recently reformatted my tilt and saved all of my cabs and reinstalled them but I cannot find the dialer pad I had before. i think it was the HTC Dialer. It was like a dark gray and the buttons were much bigger than the default. Can someone please post this for me?
Thanks,
Chris
Here is a Touch 3G Dialer. This is the one you want.
downloaded that dialer, it looks very strange on my tilt, the numbers (4-0) are light grey and barely visible, there are only 3 rows of 2 keys in the number pad on screen. And where the 1-3 numbers should be(in light grey) there are no numbers at all.
Try this one, works perfectly for me. It also has landscape support, which some don't.
Uninstall the other one before installing this.
Hi, maybe some one knows if there is any way to make shortcuts
as an example to make ß [ALT225] or just a ^_^... or???
.... it seems a looong way to find them down in symbols, if you write a text in a note or a Word doc.
in my old HP HW6515, ther was 2-3 symbols "behind" each direct symbol on 1 key.
Hope anyone can help
Thanks, Tomasmj
For the most commonly used ones you can just press the "fn" button and it will place the symbol behind it (ie the one in blue on the hardware keyboard)
Does anyone know of a WM6 dialer with large text rather than buttons? There seems to be a load of dialers developed where the buttons have been made clearer and larger but I find the caller’s number and name just absolutely minuscule. I find this very strange as there seems to be a load of space available on the screen but most of it is used by the number buttons. Given that it possible to use voice dial and speed dial etc I don't really find the larger buttons too much of a premium. I just can't read the name of the person listed beside “Last Call:"
Can anyone point me towards a dialer of is anyone working on one?
Much appreciated in advance!!
The in call keypad is different to the dialer keypad.
The other day I got through to one of those automated lines. It wanted me to enter details including alphanumerics (predictive text style) but the in call SGS keypad is missing the legend for alphanumerics, which is only ok if you can remember the letters.
+1 on this. Annoying.
