Somehow I have managed to get rid of the Task manager icon on the upper right corner Cant get it back Can anyone help Was quite handy in closing applications
What ROM do u use ?
If u're using ROMeOS² v1.40.1, u can find task manager here.
(In applications list)
Well I have standard issue english version. What is strange that before it was there and even when restarting then during touch flo startup I have the icon in the upper corner but then it just vanishes Thou have now used wk task and that works quite well also. Maybe it has something to do with the vertical scrollbar that I made wider. Thou why I can not see taskmanager in Home screen where there is now scrollbar.

Happens to me all the time... here is how to fix it.
Start->settings->task manager.
Buttons Tab at bottom.
Put a check mark in "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen"
Thanks but unfortunately I have this checked and still no taskmanager on the corner. I have now got used to the Wk tasks that works quite fine but the solution intrests me principally. Why is it missing. Also on the home screen earlier the calendar showed upcoming appointments but not any more even I have somewhere checked the buttons for upcoming and so on appointments.
Strange Seems that I have messed up somewhere.
Do you by any chance use SPB Pocket Plus?
Dont know but at least dont remember seeing any program under that name SPB pocket plus.
same problem with task manager shortcut button
i have the same problem - basically i was messing around between the SE panels and SPB Home, finally settled for SPB home, but the task manager button doesn't appear despite checking the box in task manager settings.
i'm using the xperia x1, haven't messed with the winMo6.1 installation other than installing/uninstalling R3A panel manager and SPB home (and finally installing SPB home).
This is the Raphael aka HTC Touch Pro aka Fuze forums, not the Xperia X1.
Post this topic at the Xperia forum.

Hi, I gues if there is a task switcher to move from one opened apps to another without going to the home key... liche with the little drop down you have in the top right corner. Maybe I can access it even when it's not displayed but I don't know how...
thank you for the help...

There is a really nice one with SPB Pocket Plus, but it is not free. It looks a lot like the alt-tab switcher in windows XP

Do you use it? Have you mapped it onto a hardware button?
(if so, how?!)
This tool was so useful for me on my Prophet... indeed it felt so integrated I forgot it wasn't part of the OS and was taken aback when I suddenly found it missing on the Diamond!

Hmm this one combined with the G sensor could be really nice
taski switcher - task manager
I'd rather prefer a task switcher - task manager like xperia panels (or like aspecto software's dynamo 2) with ehanced graphics and nice 3d view...
Would it be possible on diamond? anyone can develop something like that?
Cheers
The best task manager (IMHO) is without a doubt WKtask:
http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
Works just like windows then.. can switch between running apps quickly and easily with a single touch.

but only if you have the task bar in view.
ex: if you are in navigation full mode, then you haven't a taskbar. so how do you want to switch with obe single click ?
i use searching for a small tool which switch to all tasks with a hardware button - so it had to be a single programm which switch - it is not necessary to show windows, blabla, ---- only switch ...
if i found a perfect tool or another one guy - let me know - thanks
cu camel
The Alt-Tab feature of SPB Pocket Plus will be right up your street...
...however you may find it is a dead end thanks to the Diamond's dire hardware button facilities... not only there not that many of them but tapping into them appears to be full of troubles!
Mathew
spb plus - alt-tab also not working corect - it switch sometimes in different directions to the task
it's like
Task A,B,C,D,E
1.) first press A
if you press then in the short time next the hardware button then it's switch to B, C, aso
but if you wait 2 sec. then it's switching from C -> B -> A -> E
it's a little bit crazy
PLS: i talk about the "switch to next task" -> because this is almost perfect (relly fast, but wrong/serious directions)
I'm looking for a task manager that I can launch with a hard button with the help of AEButton,
in which I can scroll though my open programs using the scroller not the touch screen and close each in turn or close all.
I've tried a lot and they all either;
- They dont have the facility to use the buttons as a scroller, touch only.
- They cant be launched to open using a hardware button, as in the program launches but all I get is the little cross, dot button appear in the top right of my today screen, not actually open the task manager.
- Or they dont have the facility to close all apps.
there must be a simple little program that does this, and im starting to feel like i've tried them all...
I can distantly remember using a version on RomEOS 1.2.1 but cant find any reference to it, it allowied me to 'check' each program and close them, and launched as an actual program, rather than enabling a cross on my today screen. And it wasn;t HTC Taskmanager.
Any suggestions you lovely people? I think one handed PPC use is they way to go and this is frustraiting me.
Install SPB Pocket Plus
Soft reset
Go to Settings-Buttons
Assign "Alt-Tab" on any button you want.
Press button, see all open prg's and scroll with the wheel to the one you want, press wheel and you are there.
Hi,
ever tried WkTask (freeware) ?
Quickmenu does the trick for me. Much better than WKTask. Also freeware. X button closes the app, gives a PC feel to menus and you don't ever have to use stylus.
Thanks for the replies
tried both WKTask and Quickmenu, but evenually settles on HandySwitcher, turned out to be a bonus that you can customise the colours, since i have a white background and couldn't read the white text on the menu.
Success!
Why wouldn't you use the task switching part of phoneAlarm?
You can set the default function to the switcher and be managing open tesks with 2 button pushes.
I second Quickmenu. Once you click the exe once it'll auto start after soft resets. Goto the settings and customize the startmenu the way you want. I set mine up to have Running programs first and that set to be shown as submenu and then it allows you the close one or close all feature, quickmenu popout second, then a break and then program, settings, and office folders all set to submenus and then my regular programs as links below. I can control it all with my finger or with the jog dial. Retains your windows TSK theme and if you set it to replace windows start menu it is like the other never existed. Excellent program and very lightweight. To fix the text issue I use UI Tweaker. Also helps me match the color to my TSK better. Just my personal preference.
These two programs have been killing me lately. The biggest problem (and the one I didnt see anything on when I searched) is with S2U2. My problem is that pressing the end key on my Verizon Touch Pro seems to stop S2U2 and puts me on the home screen. This is a problem because I installed S2U2 so that I wouldnt accidentally call people when the phone is in my pocket. The only reason I posted this is because I accidentally called someone today because of this problem. Is there any fix that will stop S2U2 from ending when the end key is accidentally pressed? Right now I am locking the keys using windows built in key lock and then using S2U2. This takes much more time than just pressing the power button and letting S2U2 kick in when it wakes up. If I could get the built in keylock to kick in on wakeup also or if I could get S2U2 to not respond to the end key, my problem would be fixed.
My second problem is with HTC's Task Manager in the top righthand corner of touchflo. Every once and awhile it will just disappear. I searched for this and came up with a couple of solutions that didnt work. I tried checking and unchecking the box in the buttons section that says "Enable quick menu on today screen." The only way to get it to reappear is to do a soft reset. Thats really frustrating. So is there any real fix for that? If not, what would you suggest for a replacement task manager that blends in with touchflo? I really just want something simple like HTC's task manager where it shows my tasks in a drop down and I can exit out of each one just like I do now. I really like how HTC's task manager is setup, but I cant deal with it disappearing.
It's hard to hit that little Task Manager icon in the top right corner without using the stylus. It's definitely not finger friendly. I wish there was a way to make the Task Manager more accessible. I like being able to kill anything that is running.
That would depent on the ROM you are running.
Quickmenu is the answer to your need.
I am running a the stock AT&T Rom minus bloat
Thanks for the reply
Or rather than installing more software you could map Taskmanager to a hardware button, Start\Settings\buttons.
Oh and in the start menu is easy Start\Settings\Menu
As i imagine your asking for ease of use.
Another cool bit of software is AEButton do a google as you can map up to 4 things for every hardware button makes the phone so user friendly
Task Manager isn't an option
I tried that first...it doesn't show up as an option in the start menu or today screen. Stock AT&T Rom

Sorry to do what i said you will need to use this taskmanager http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2481033&postcount=81 it's just an exe place a where you want and make shortcut to Windows\startmenu
What I use is HButton by Ondrej Pavlicek, together with a newer version of Task Manager (usually included in the M2D cabs). If you let HButton handle the "ok" button presses, it will show the Task Manager popup at the upper right corner when you are in the Today screen. The newer Task Manager allows scrolling through the tasks, and if you press the right button in the directional pad, it will close the selected task. Very convenient for me.
it appears that my task mgr at top right of screen button has just disappeared, but when I change panels, it appears again but not functonal.
Only if I load the task mgr manually it works, solution anyone?
EDIT: Task mgr works on other panels.
im still bugged on this, any help?
I thought that the spb one replaces the built in one.
I've just mapped the spb shell on to the right hard button, I much prefer the finger friendly spb one.
