Exactly as the title says.
Also post games you hate so we dont fall for them:
Games i've tried and recommend:
Age of empires gold (Name says it all)
Sim City 2000 (dito)
Dopewars (Addicting)
Teeter (Comes with the phone)
MC Poker (play online with other people Texas Hold 'em)
SkyForce Reloaded (Really fun; just try it)
Snood (aim and shoot "snoods" and match them up to destroy them)
Midnight Pool 3d ( Im a pool fanatic *demo comes with phone)
Games not to get:
Arvale II (just too simple / redundant. Its rpg style but it sucks (in my opinion))
Feel free to add on
Couple of old games I had that work well on my Sprint TP:
Acky's XP Breakout - VGA breakout-style game works nicely with the stylus
Atomic Cannon - Nice graphics on a Scorched Earth-type game. This one occasionally has a sound glitch where the sound stops, going into sound settings and disable/enable cycle fixes.
Bejeweled 2 - Of course. How can you go wrong?
Not all test on the TP but I was just looking on other forums about best games. And here is a list I made of games I wanna try
Call of Duty 2
Warfare Inc
Arvale and Arvale 2
Krally
minijetfight
UNDERCROFT
soldier ants.
SkyForce Reloaded
Lemonade inc
tots n togs
The Quest
Quake Mobile
Rayman Ultimate
pocket heroes
I would highly recommend Orions: Legend of Wizards and its expansions.
could you provide links as to where you get the games from...
yeah sure when i get to a computer. i gotta say some of those suggestions look really good. i warn you though if you get the arvale series only get the demos because you will be dissapointed
p.s. has anyone here actually played the quest? it looks interesting, but is it worth it?

I'd love to see some links also. Does Sim City 2000 work well with the Fuze controls? Do you play with keyboard out, or no? Does it display full screen landscape?
lemings
syberia
warcraft2
ufo
and if one goes into the whole
amiga, c64, snes and MAME emulator
scene then it's a different question i guess
diff people diff tastes i like fps games as much as
the next guy but dont really feel it works on pda's using
the touch screen
tombraider worked ok but required many many hardbuttons to
work so dont believe any htc devices ever had the option to stop
the game without softreset
thanks for the recommendations. what am i not seeing with dopewars? i tried it for two seconds and was already bored (and a bit confused).
by the way, please indicate if your recommendations require extensive use of the d-pad (touchpad). we all know it's not the best to use and i've had to stop playing one of my favorites (ms. pac-man) because it's clumsy to navigate in fast-paced games without hitting the back or home buttons.
I have always been addicted to Quartz 2 and am glad to see that they have released a VGA version.

I never softreset when I want to stop playing TombRaider. Press Home button, click right corner (HTC Task Manager), hold your finger/stylus and drag until you'll see Tomb Raider, move to X (you need to hold your finger cos' the screen flickers).
Have you found a method to map the keys? The arrow keys are kinda reversed.
Some of the games I've tested:
- Rayman, bad control, poor framerate
- Prince of Persia HD, moves heavily
- Assassins Creed, again moves heavly, the game is not fluid
- Zuma Deluxe, nice one
- DragonBall, zuma deluxe style game, kinda slow
- Warfare Inc, nice strategy game
- I244 Machines at War, again nice strategy game
- Spore, kinda slow
- Lemmings
- NFS, jerky game
- Cokoto CartRacer, jerky game, poor graphics
- Rats, nice platform game but it's so slowly on TP
- Age of Empires
- Warcraft 2, i cannot select items properly.. it's like the screen is not calibrated
- TombRaider, this one runs really good. If I can remap the keys as I want..
- Bejeweled 2, nice logic game
- Pac-Man
- Quake III Arena
- Call of Duty II
I recommend (you don't need to rely on D-PAD for these games):
- Bejeweled 2
- Zuma Deluxe
- DragonBall (even if it's a bit slow)
- Warfare Inc
- I244 Machines at War
- Age of Empires
And for show-off:
- COD 2
- Quake III Arena

You have to be careful which one you get.
Handmark Scrabble works perfectly with pixel doubling. Highly recommended.
EA Mobile Scrabble is gorgeous, but unbelievably bad. The control was designed for mobile phones and it lacks enormously important features. Just... don't.
I have Handmark Scrabble and am very glad to know that when my device arrives on Friday that my favorite game will work. Curious about pixel doubling though, wouldn't there actually need to be pixel quadrupling in order to go from qvga to vga?
none of the games i recomended need the dpad... simcity2000 works well just run the tut. it can be a bit of a strain on the eyes sometimes.
Concerning d-pad troubles. Could there be a way to disable the phone and windows/back buttons prior to starting a game and automatically re-enable them when you quit? This way games would be much more playable...

Technically, yes. But since most of the math involved is just multiplying by two on each axis, "doubling" does make some sense. And it's shorter and easier to say.
OK, that's good enough for me.

Does anyone know of any good games for the x1?
Looking for them too, atm no games support 800x480 res
yes, that resolution is really a problem.
anyway, Vexed, which is one of my good old games, is still working fine with x1. and i found that many old games are still able to be ran in x1, but not those new ones.
Looking also...I wish that the Ants game was playable on the X1
im a little disapointed how i have only got 2 games installed on my x1 currently
Boxword wich is hard and addictive and worms which is great because its like any other version of worms which is awesome.
i'd really like to have some more good ones though

What worms game? Tried Worms world party but it wouldn't run on my X1
A bunch of old games here...
I have these loaded and working:
Chesscapade
Death Drive
Empire of the Undead
KSE Backgammon
Madden NFL
Maggot Attack
Naughty Worm
Obama Bobble
Pocket Spades
Rats
Resco BrainGain
SlotCarRacer
Snails
Street Duel
Most of them run in 640x480 mode only either by leaving the bottom part of the screen untouched or after using VGAfix to switch resolution--but they do all work.
I see Spore was released by EA yesterday for the Xperia, (well it says its compatible). You can get it from the same site you get the Bejeweled registration code from:
http://store.handmark.com/p/7409/Games/Spore-for-Windows-Mobile-Pocket-PC/Sony-Ericcson-X1-(XPERIA)
I haven't bought it, but the PC version got some quite good reviews...
havent messed too much around but
miner
all mobile mines
works out of the box
vmodeswitch made nine hole golf 1.0
work
best path is just to try out normal games some scale some dont fill
the whole screen some crash
some works ok

any good arcade games that work with X1? especially shoot them all up kind of games?
"I haven't bought it, but the PC version got some quite good reviews..."
spore origins is not! the same game as the pc game called spore
sure it's from the same company and the pda games is a bit like the first
stage of the pc game
you can compare it with the spore origins for iphone/ipod touch
i would google some reviews of those before paying for the game
"any good arcade games that work with X1? especially shoot them all up kind of games?"
look for simulators like mame snes and c64 and the likes
and try out if the free duke nukeem3d, doom1/2, quake1/2/3, wolfenstein, heretic, hexen
fps games works with the resolution
buttom line == google for "pocketpc "+ the thing you want to find
PocketHumanity runs cool!
what about
pocket ufo? I didn't get around to trying it, but it works on other phones really well.
when the replacement x1 comes I will give it a go.

Didn't run on my X1, not even with vgafix.
i installed pocketdos and ran an old dos game called spelljammer it's a native x86 dos game so it's emulated but it ran like a char and pocketdos let me adjust the res to fill the screen nicely
Anyone got Quake 3 Arena working on the X1?
Games I have installed on my X1 are: -
Tomb Raider - Works perfectly but only in VGA, no fix required
Age of Empires Gold - Works perfectly but only in VGA, no fix required
Blobble Bubble Build (EXCELLENT!) - Works perfectly but only in VGA, no fix
Call of Duty 2 - Works perfectly but only in VGA, WVGA2 fix required
Duke Nukem 3D - Works perfectly but only in VGA, WVGA2 fix required
FPSECE - Works fine in WVGA but most games only run 15 - 20 fps
Picodrive (100% speed genesis emulator, the best!) - Works perfectly but only in VGA, WVGA2 fix required
Dopewars - Works perfectly in WVGA
My personal favourite is tomb raider, it looks amazing runs amazing and is one of the best games ever made (in my opinion)
Generally im finding that any game written by a large studio will work fine. It seems that most big commercial games (tomb raider age of empires etc) are written to handle bigger screen sizes and auto set themselves to vga. I've found that most smaller or less known games either require WVGA2 fix or dont work at all.
Keep the list coming I wanna see what else can run on this beast!

why would anyone play first person shooters designed for the pc on a mobile phone...quake3 would be possible because its been done for other mobile phones, but expect 2-4fps and no way to really control the player.
Anyone knows where I can find bejewled for free????
Im looking for some good games. Just recommend anything besides sports games.
duke nukem 3d
duke nukem 3d is an excellent game for the kaiser its an exact copy of the game for the pc but takes up about 80 meg the best one i have seen for graphics is quake which too is an exact copy of the pc game but takes long to load (about 3 mins) hate sports games myself they are just too boring lol
Emulators?
I enjoy strategy/action/rpg games. I play zelda snes and final fantasy 2 & 3 on my snes emulator. I also play pocket uno and my girlfriend loves drug wars. All my suggestions are freeware by the way. There's some REALLY good games out there like command and conquer ppc edition if you want to spend some money.
The old Amiga game, Anotehr World is a classic that translates well to the phone
Azgard Defence is a great tower defence game.
Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia are good platform/fighting games with lovely 3d graphics
Explode Arena is a good update of Bomberman
Exit Nights and Orions are good Magic the Gathering-esque card based strategy games.
Dynomite is a cracking Puzzle Bobble/Bust a Move type game
Brain My Day is the best brain training type game I've managed to find
Zuma's good.
Mazera's a good arcade/adventure game
Worms World Party is fantastic and Snails looks like a decent alternative too.
Good puzzle games are:
BoxUp
Chuzzle
Cubis
Jelly Blocks
Link Letters
Mars Needs Cows
Mummy Maze
Text Twist
Traffic Jam
3 mins to load quake 2?! yikes!
mine takes around 20 secs. (running the TF2D).
also try doing a search for morphgear which will play almost any old nintendo rom you can find nicely, sega/atari/coleco roms are around too, but might require a bit more searching to get the right emulator for them.
I used to login to yahoo games from the road and play cards against the wifey when i was on the road too, so there are a million possibilites.
goodluck!
post some good games up 2 guys
Thanks for the replies guys! I downloaded a nice little pack that has Age of Empires and a few more good lucking games. I love tankzors its like the most addicting game ever. It runs in fullscreen on the kaiser and its runs perfect. I recommend it.
What's a good site to find good free games for Kaiser?
There's so many sites out there that I'd like help weeding out the sites to avoid by sticking with only the ones recommended.
Thanks!
I enjoy playing:
Azguard Defence
Brain my Day
Kevtris (GF's favorite)
Spore (for ppc)
NanoBotz (very fun worms clone!)

Hi, we all know that there is a huge lack of good, high quality games for android. So i would like to start a thread that picks the best out of the pool.
Here is my best-of:
- Jewellust (far better than Bejeweled)
- Devilry Huntress (like Jewellust)
- Christallight Defense
- Bonsai Blast
- Gameboid (Gameboy Advance Emulator, works great!)
- Buka
- Totemo (when its out!)
What are your favourite HIGH Quality Games?
retro defence
snesoid - works fine
scummvm - I've run monkey island and day of the tentacle so far
xgalaga
and light racer is pretty good fun also (although maybe not HQ)
+Recommended
Robo Defense
Orbs knock off
Labyrinth (the 3d tilt effect works brilliant ingame)
+Pretty
Super-G stunt (or anything by that company)
The doom emulator / port
Streets of rage 3 on gensoid
super mario world on snesoid
armadillo roll
buka
3d cube demo
+1 for Robo Defense
I also like these games:
Cestos - draw the directions you want the balls to go to try to push opponent's balls into a hole... play against people online makes it even more fun
Trap! - divide box into smaller boxes without getting hit by bouncing balls
Baseball Superstars 2009 is quite fun too even though I don't know much about baseball

All I know, that pretty much on my first Android boot and Market visit, I downloaded Doom from the Market, turned on my Wifi, and in the Doom application clicked on 'download shareware .WAD' and 'download sounds'. And it works fine.
So either something is wrong with your Doom installation or Hero, or (more likely) your WAD still isn't entirely compatible with _this_ port.

Its a good game, but as you say, its an iphone port. and it seems its not ported very well. its slow, its not responsive, so its not big fun.
What about HeroCraft and PDAMill. Why dont they port their really good games like Snails, Gamebox Solitaire to Android?
Not that impressed with the games. Keeping fingers crossed. Like Light Racer though.

"Quality" is an entirely subjective word. Could mean anything. Could mean, "highest resolution images," or, "fastest animation." It could mean something I'm not even thinking about, to you.
The games mentioned here are all fun. None of them are "best quality." There's no definitive way to say one of them is, in my opinion...
For touchscreen games, I love ICBM (Missile Command via touchscreen). Also a big fan of Pocket Uno (huge time-waster).
There are some fun g-sensor toys, like the Lightsaber, the Magic 8 Ball, and the GClippers (my personal favorite prank of the moment). There's a Galaga-like game called GInvaders which is merely okay (again, my opinion only). YMMV.
FYI, here's a great collection of games in a gigantic single cab file. (19MB FTW)
Check HERE and HERE and you will find some really good ones. You can google and find a lot of free ones.
Are those games free? I didnt know there were more games for the phone other than the snes and sega roms. Im trying to find more proper games that are free. In aus you cant get these games since none of the networks have games that are compatiable for this phone.

All of the games I mentioned are free. None of them requires a network connection to play, and if you can't get to sites that offer these games as downloads, I'm surprised that you can get here, as well. Not sure what else you could be talking about, when you say "networks."

Best game period. Great graphics, amazing 3d engine with no lag almost PSP quality 3d, very very responsive gsensor controls, more than just 1 or 2 levels.
I really enjoyed cops and robbers too but it was just too short, I was so disappointed when I realized after finding all the diamonds there wasn't another quest/level set.
But those two for games that a console person would like.
Other than that ya Resco bubbles, and Resco Brain Games are also on my Fuze.
But man get NFS Undercover, amazing. I had my iphone fanboy friends mouth watering playing that. Though I believe they have similar games the resolution on the fuze really makes it look amazing.
Hey i am looking some very good game for my Touch pro. I dont like thes gameloft etc copier over and over games but something you can play hours. It would be also nice if it was game known from pc. I have played heroes of might&magic, warcraft 2 and i loved them.

@ klooher,
Hi. The two games I am addicted to are Huff n' Puff, which is an Angry Birds-like game, and Ivy the Kiwi. Both have great looking graphics and they are fun to play. They are also challenging. Here is some info on both games:
Huff n' Puff is a game to kill the pigs in their structures, or homes. You play as the Big Bad Wolf and you want to go out and collect your "hams". You go and kill Pigs using your breath to blow the house down. What sets this game apart is the game supports two modes of play: tapping the screen, or using the microphone on your device to "blow" into. What this does is when you are in the level, it activates the Wolf's breath inhale so depending on how soft or hard you blow air into the mic also affects the power Wolf will use to blow down the house. you can toggle between the two. As the levels progress, you could use something like a chili pepper to eat and then use Wolf's breath to set fire to wodden structures. There are also two other food items (ice cream and onion).
The drawback on playing this game on the Touch Pro, or on any VGA screen device, is it was meant for WVGA screens. The game formats itself (but there will be black bars on top and bottom of the screen when the game is in its default landscape mode), but the touch points where to activate the soft buttons are a little off, so you wouldn't be touching some the icon(s) directly, but rather slightly above them. If you can live with that then this is a great choice to play. Suggest to use your stylus when playing.
The second game, Ivy the Kiwi, is a platformer game (side scroll game like Mario). You do not directly control Kiwi (which is a bird). Kiwi moves back and forth on its own. What you do is you use your stylus to create vines for Kiwi to get across from the start to the Goal. The concept itself is fairly simple, but the levels do get harder and more complexed. Each level is timed, and the optional objective is to collect feathers. In each level there are 10 feathers to grab. The game was eventually ported to the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS. Windows Mobile seemed to have been forgotten, but it is available in the marketplace. I havent beaten this game yet. There are two tutprial videos in the game so you can get aquainted with the gameplay. The color scheme is fairly bland in a way, since there isn't much color but at the same time there is a beauty in the game visually. It looks hand drawn and the versions for Nintendo have much more color, but I still enjoy the game immensely.
If you are into an RPG style action/adventure game, play Zenonia. I havent tried it yet, and I have the .cab file for it but i havent installed it yet so i can't really say. I would suggest going on youtube and check these games out and watch the videos to see if you woudl like them (better yet, do a Google search). If you are into the RTS games, how about checking out Autumn Dynasty Lite? The game is really short, but you can replay it. Both Autumn Dynasty and Huff n' Puff are made by Touch Dimensions. Go on their site and look up those two games. Autumn Dynasty looks like artwork. Trust me, it does!
If you send me a PM, then i can send you links to where I found games and you can check them out for yourself. i found certain full-games (that are on sale through Handango and such) on certain hosting sites and downloaded them from there but I suggest if you are going to do that then to find the .cab file, extract on your PC and run a virus scanner just to be safe. Not sure if a desktop virus scanner would actually pick up a virus extracted out of a .cab file meant for Windows Mobile, but it gives me peace of mind, and I have yet to get a virus. I also have Lookout Mobile Security on my device too for the virus protection (i highly recommend this product).
I hope I was able to help. Please let me know if you found any interesting games.

I am sure, you know it from your young years. However it is for more people and the graphics isn't something breathtaking, but the fun is much bigger.
thanks for your suggestion. i do remember that game! brings back memories. Def worth a look at! I love all types of games and graphics is something nice to look at but should not define how good a game is.

@ klooher,
Game
My favorites games are Skyforce and Bejaweled
I did want to add another post to this thread: if anyone has played Rolling With Katamari, comment on if you liked it or not. The cartoon graphics look nice as it seems to fit with the franchise. There is no real 3D graphics but the game is fun to play and it is addicting. Some of the levels are quite challenging.
One criticism is the on screen controls are not that great. I have to sometimes swipe 4 or 5 times to get the character and the rolling ball to go fast, as that is a speed boost in the game. It makes certain levels almost unbeatable with the time limit and what your objective is.
Other than that, I believe the game is worth checking out. It is a bizarre game but fun nonetheless.
