PLEASE HELP me to block private/restricted calls on my HTC FUZE. I have a person calling me with private and or restricted number all night long...at least 40-50 times through out the night. on my HTC tilt I could set a no ring tone sound for the unknown calls....in the HTC fuze I don't see such option. I installed call firewall on it today and now its blocking ALL my calls
sorry If this is already answered but could not find a solution when searching the site...
any help would be much appricieated.....
Thanks
Which version of Call Firewall are you using? Is it v1.4?
If so there should be an option to "Reject Unknown / Private Calls". This should work for you, but no gaurantees.
I have the 1.4 version but it blocks all my calls
I have the 1.4 version but it blocks all my calls ...when i tried setting it to unknown / blocked calls it still blocks all my calls! =(
I called att&t and they won't do a thing...
Put a blank sound file on your phone. Put the person in your contacts, set the rington as the blank sound file.

It is unknown. You can't put that into your phonebook.
<I fail at reading.
I am using CallFirewall 1.4 and it works great on my Rapahel. All unknown calls got rejected. Maybe you should jsut reinstall Callfirewall program.
Have you tried SPB Phone Suite? I am using it although I don't use the Call filter function.
But I checked what it offers and you can add Private Callers to blacklist.
There should be trial version of SPB PS on their website... Maybe you can try it if you don't mind to pay a few bucks eventually.
Try MagiCall
I use magiCall by mobiion here is the link: http://www.mobiion.com/magicall.html I have used it for at least 4 years and it works wonders. While it's isn't free the developers supports it fully provides free updates for minor releases. It has a lot of options as well and there is a 15 day free trial.
You could use YouMail to do this. It's a voice mail service for your phone that allows you to block particular callers as well.

Jim
I am using the call firewall 1.4. However I still get 1 ring before it rejects them. It also tends to block any number that is NOT private/restricted. For example I make a call from my home (unblocked) to the mobile phone...it starts ringing but won't let me answer the call =(
What settings are you guys using on the call firewall? may be I am doing something wrong...
I have the reject unknown/private calls checked.....
MagiCall RULES!
I just installed the free trial of MagiCall and it works like a champ :=) I don't get my normal calls rejected and it actually rejects the blocked numbers with out a single ring....
I WISH IT WAS FREE! any one has a copy to spare
call firewall automatically shutdow in touch pro
i am using call firewall 1.4 on my touch pro and after i minimize it, i suppose it hide and keep running behind.
i leave the "Do not show in 'Running Program'" uncheck, so i am suppose to see it's running in the task manager all the times, right?
but it seems that call firewall sometime will automatically shutdown and disappear from the tasks manager. sometime is after i turn on the media player, sometime is after i turn on the youtube link.
the worse things is, this shutdown does not occur consistencely.
does anyone of the experienced user can tell me do they get similar issue on their touch pro/fluz with call firewall?
i did contact with HTC but they cannot help me because i cannot explicitely tell them how and when the software will shut down.
i want to see may be it is due to i am just not too familiar with the machine. or there are someother treak that is i don't know.
this also happen with both SPB GPRS Monitor and the SPB wireless Monitor.
those are also program i need to run at the background consistenly.

I found that Mobiion is co-operating with TrialPay. If you don't know much about TrialPay, you may search it on the internet.
You are able to get MagiCall for free by doing a TrialPay purchase. Just open the product page http://www.mobiion.com/magicall.html, and then close the page, a window will pop up displaying a purchase button to make TrialPay purchase and get MagiCall for free.
Hope it can help you.
+1 for youmail.com

Thanks for the info. Just did this. Worked like a charm. I signed up for a free trial of emusic.com and now Mobiion will be sending me a registration key within 24 hour. Instead of $24 this ended up costing nothing. All I have to do is log into my emusic account and cancel the trial tomorrow without being charged anything.

I've used Call Firewall but I don't like how it lets my phone ring once then silences it and it doesn't give me the option to block private and unknown numers. I can't remember if it lets me block by area codes though, but I need that for the stupid 866 and 888 numbers that call at 7am.

Is this program free?
SmartBlock d/l and installed. But is not going into effect. I did some reading and it says it only supports 2003 and WM5. Any suggestions for those who use SmartBlock?
jb
Yeah it seems like finding a good call blocking program is quite a bit harder than it should be. I tried a bunch of them then settled on this one.
call block
It does cost money ($10). It's not quite perfect but it works pretty well.

Hmm, I've never had the problem with it ringing my phone once before it blocks it. I have an ex blocked and she used to call me about 10 times a day and it never rang once.
Also, I'm not sure what version of call firewall your using, but it has the option to reject unknown/private calls right on the first page on mine. I'm using version 1.2. And, if you go to menu and then black list options and choose the pattern option it allows you to block calls starting with a certain number such as 866 or 888.

Thanks for the link Mex, but unfortunately I got it to work and I thought it would be the one I was looking for but after you turn it on it will block the numbers you wish not to pick up BUT when you go to make a call, a popup comes and says something like "sorry you are un able to make this call right now either there is no signal or the number you are trying to dial isn't a verified number, please try later. Have you ran into this problem?

Thanks. I must've had the 1.1 which didn't have the private/unknown numbers and such. I will give it a shot. Hopefully they config the program to go straight to vmail like SmartBlock does and doesn't even show up on your device call logs but only in SmartBlocks history log.
Going to test out Call Firewall right now, I will report back.
jb
magicall works amazing! it is indeed the best.
For me the best blocking sw is NOVOSEC's smartfilterpro. Unfortunately it doesn't work in wm6.
I was using Call SMS blocker. Not free but work excellent.
http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/csb/csb.aspx
Just wanted to resurrect this thread to say I tried Smartblock and MagiCall (didn't try Call Firewall due to the one ring delay) and found that:
- Smartblock had a one ring delay before blocking while MagiCall doesn't.
- MagiCall has the option to answer and then immediately hang up, meaning the offending number gets charged for the call!
For those two points alone, MagiCall is about to get my business. I also found the option when making a rule to choose whether you get notified about events or not.
Thanks for putting me on to this program.
I have been using SPB Phone Suite which also has this feature, though I have yet to use it. It supports Black Lists, White Lists and no CallerID. I just turned it on for PrivateID- I'll let you know how well it works.
Can you guys recommend a theft alert style prog for the X1.
So far i have heard of
Ultimate Theft Alert v3
MASPware GuardMobile
Where Is My Phone
Smart Protect
What's the best, what are the things to look for?
Thanks

Hm, I read the program documentation but there is a thing that makes the program absolutely useless:
Send SMS with a predefine code to the lost/stolen phone or your family member that have SmartphoneTracker installed.

If someone steals my phone, the first thing he would do is to switch it off and exchange the sim card. So how should I send a SMS to the phone to wake up the program when my SIM-card with my phone number isn't in the phone anymore?
Such a Anti-Theft-Program need to send the location to a predefined Mail-Account when the SIM-Card has been changed. The program has to recognize that the SIM isn't the same and then start itself on Windows startup as soon as possible so that it cannot be closed before it can send the mail.
Anything else makes such a program useless in my opinion.

Notify on sim change... It's in the settings.
This means your phone with the new simcard will send a sms or email to a predefined number (not your own number but maybe your brothers phone or someone else you can trust) as soon as it detects a new sim inserted. voila and you have the thiefs phonenumber.
I have tested the feature and it works very well...

You do that. I think you'll like it.
I'm using MASPware GuardMobile, works fine and a lot of options. Smart proctect seems very good to me too, and it's free. Maybe I'll give it a try after a hard reset
i am searching a antitheft program, that is invisible implemented/implementable
into the ROM (completely configured).
for hardreset resistance. a spezial version of hardspl could be a good way.
so the theft protection is resistand for firmwareupdates by the theft.
hardspl once installed, could give out a unique secret key.
without this key no hardspl remove/update is possible. and the protection is not easy removable.hardspl handles all flash requests and without key....
only with commands to read/write directly to FLASH, the last chance to remove it.
and thats not easy for NOOB´s
what are your settings for Smartphone Tracker? i installed it an replaced the simcard but until now i havent received an email oder sms. it doesnt seem to work on the xperia? anyone has ideas?

1. you must have a working email account installed into the xperia.
This account (marked with a red box) will be used for sending the stealth-mail to your destination account.
2. The destination account should not be installed on the phone as the thief would also get the stealth-mail.
3. Setup your options in the settings view (see attached pictures)
4. press Send now in the menu if you want to tryout your settings.
It's recommended to have satellite sync while testing this.
5. Save changes and exit the application.
I'm having some trouble with smartphone tracker on my X1. When I send an sms containing my passphrase the X1 phone displays the text as a new unread message. Also the phone doesn't send any mail to my configured receiver. And yes, I've chosen a working mail account, it works when pressing "send now..." from within smartphone tracker.
Also the incoming text message displays as a new unread message, it's not suppose to do that right?
I get the feeling that Smartphone tracker doesn't catch incoming text messages. What's your experiences?

Not the keygen, it is illegal...
Does anyone know of a good application that will block numbers from calling you? Not that I have a big problem with harassing phone calls but it would be nice to have a program that would allow you to block callers, whether it be for a day or forever. I searched around on the web and found one called call block [You can download the trial at http://www.wishsolutions.com/ by wish solutions.] Seems like it'd be nice, but it keeps saying that it can't determine owner ID and not sure if it actually works. It has a 7 day free trial and I attached a keygen that I found at iPmart. It determines the code by Owner ID and since it could not register the Owner ID I was unable to verify if it works. I'm running Raphael Elite Project- RC3 Rom, don't know if that's causing it not to register or not. I'd appreciate any feedback on the program or any other known programs.
please edit your post and remove the keygen that is considered warez and is means for banning on this website. When i talked with 611, i was told there is no way to block numbers except having the parental controls on a phone line where all numbers are blocked, and only allowed numbers can call
and again remove keygen

Magicall has the most features! and it's flexible too!

magic call doesnt work on HTC HD MINI tho, still trying to find one that does
I try some program inc Magicall , but caller hear ring and then block the call.
Its not perfect
Is there a program that you can set an "away status" that will auto reply to text messages (and possibly calls, but not as important)?
SMS autoreply
Killer mobile Blackballer. Sounds scary but it is a call and SMS filtering software that claims to do that I have not tried it but the price is fairly reasonable, so I may.
Here is the link:
http://www.killermobile.com/newsite...aller--call-&-message-filter--blacklist.htm
I think they have a trial period. If you try it, please provide feedback.
A nice find, and indeed it "supposedly" does what I am asking, but after installing the software and attempting to use it, I uninstalled it in five minutes. Horribly unintuitive, buggy, etc.. thank you for posting, though!
Anyone else know of another program? I found a program called BaseIsReply, but it wont work with the ROM I am using (throws an error).
Found a program called Mobliza.. checking it out now.
hello try this
the phone already has an option doesnt it . i thikn it is only for phone calls tho.
Try Magicall.
Has a whole lot of options, and you can enable and disable it with a simple click.
I've used it for a while, works like a charm.
Try SMS Minder. Works great on my Sprint TP. Here is the link to the thread on XDA.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3138123
It is freeware.
I've tried heaps (got like 30 in my start menu), done many searches... Tired of heresay and finding out none really work. I want to easily block people off my touch pro. Anyone have a working version of anything?
Answer(credit to mtem1985): Magicall http://www.mobiion.com/magicall.html It's a great little program, can block calls/sms with auto delete, logging, notifications, etc... it can even send a message back to your harrasser like "I told you there is more fish in the sea" or just "You Are Blocked"
Pretty cool, suited my needs perfect.
Here Here! I had the mistake of giving a guy at work my cell number because he "needed a favor" thinking he needed me to work for him and just to find out he wanted to bug me and talk about absolutely nothing. EVERY SINGLE DAY! And it doesn't matter if I yell at him at work and not respond ever to his messages. He still manages to text me all the time a couple times a day! HELP SOMEONE!
Nobody knows of a working one eh?
i've used magicall in the past,
Worked great for me. give it a try
Works perfect, thanks man.
hey there~
i am fairly certain that the free call firewall has all those abilities. i use it to automatically route certain callers to vm. you can auto reply to blocked call via sms if u want. you can specify a black list for calls and sms and even add a blocked call to a reminder list!
hope that helps
~j
Here you go. Hope this helps your problems out.. Good luck
Ur welcome
I've given my phone number to some people that i shouldn't give to, so in need of a program that could solve this problem for me, i've come across this one.
back in the times when i used winmo 6.1 you could set the app to block incoming calls, and sms and it wouldn't even show an icon that something happend. the only way to know if this person tried to call you or text you, you should go into the logging area
