why is it everyone wants copies of other OSs? Android is its own seperate OS, why can't it have a media player that reflects itself like other OS's have. Sure you like a feature where in landscape it shows different info. I think that is cool. But I want to wait for google to finish 1.0

I hate the fact that they have hardly updated the media player since 1.0 (gosh do you remember that ****? Didnt even have on screen keyboard xD)
there is one called mixzing in the market, its free. it has an iphone-esque look to it. not exact but kinda close. one thing neat about it is, it acts like pandora (creates playlist based on a song selection) but bases the playlist creation off of the music in your phone collection. it's kinda cool.

Also, an option for a simpler list view, without cover art, or with smaller cover art is welcome. Android is a powerful system, and should by no means be stuck with the crappy stock audio player...

I kno y'all as developers don't wanna mok the look of the hero..or iphone but as a customer..and I kno a lot of people who would spend .99-$1.99 for a simple music app with the slide cover art...and people who would donate to someone who puts it together....being with a g1 we dnt have a lot of features and with surveys...I've did I found people are more likely to buy something with visuals (cover art) .. jus like u more likely to buy an app in the market cause we are spoiled with screen shots.....

i emailed him and he dosent wanna go to the scroll album cover look..idk...so ight now i am using MixZonng and its really the best music player app i have and it comes with a album cover widget...
but they havent gave me a response to an email...
thats why i came here.. seems like people are scared to atleast do it.. and i could easly post about 20 comments alone of people of like this idea i have.. as its only a foundation..not even a final .. just a easy way to navigate through music..with a eye appealing theme!

I've been enjoying Digitally Imported on my iPhone 4 for quite some time and figured they might have made an Android version. This is the Public Beta release. It works great to my knowledge and experience. I have a cap on my AT&T plan, but not my T-mobile plan (5GB soft cap, I know)
It has great stations and DJs. If there are fans of electronica and house music, this is the app to have.

Ugh. Devs really need to fix this, is it so hard? When the screen times out and turns off, the music stops. This happens in a TON of streaming audio apps. Is it that hard?
EDIT: That was weird, first time screen timed out, the audio stopped/paused. I unlock, and resumed playback, then the 2nd time it timed out (screen), it's fine now, music keeps playing, been several minutes.
Aonline Radio has all this and more. It gets all shoutcast stations as well.

Any chance of having some sort of cache so the radio doesn't have to be on constantly? Perhaps download the songs to Isolated Storage. It could probably help with the power consumption. If I remember correctly, the songs on hypem don't cycle that quickly.

i can help you if you dont mind using realplayer
download latest version of realplayer and :
Let it scan all songs and then search the song you want to add lyrics to.
right click on it and you will find some option like edit song information ( i haven't used it from a long time so i dont remember it ).
when you get a small window to edit songs artist,album, title n all so look at the right there will be cloumn named lyrics....paste your lyrics in it and save....move it to ur OB and enjoy
can be dont on itunes too....just go to edit songs info....in the small window you will see some tabs like artwork,lyrics and all....simply open the tab and paste the lyrics and save......n ur done
i've added the lyrics through itunes but it won't show up when played on the phone.

Would like to mention a new Windows Phone app, Gesture Calc. It is an app I made for the 30 to launch contest last month, but it is also now in the marketplace.
It's a calculator app similar to the one that comes with your phone but with gestures for operations. My thought was that with the touch screens available on smartphones, the standard calculator is kind of boring. So instead of using the buttons, you can trace things like plus,minus,divide, etc. on the bottom of the screen.
The app is completely free, with no trial limits, and does not have any ads. Just looking for any feedback for stuff I can add to the app.

Hmm... What do you mean by that? Do you know people who entertain themselves by calculators??? I know nobody, even my 2 years old daughter (she's prefer Galaxy Tab with colorful games) Calculators are used for calculations, not for entertainment so they can't be "boring".

By "kind of boring" I mean very similar, and without many differences from the layout of calculators from the 60's. The gesture addition is just an experiment to see if people like a feature like that. I don't mean I intend a calculator to be an entertainment app. However, I could add farm animal noises to all the buttons so it is more entertaining though.

By the way, do you like a gesture feature? Can you calculate more effective or fast with gestures?

Yeah I actually like using the gestures. Not sure if it is faster though. Haven't tested the speed of doing a bunch of calculations.
