Hi,
i might have a stupid question, but could be usefull, if possible.
Ones if there is a ROM available with Android for the Blackstone,
whould it be possible to install two ROM´s, one with windows mobile and one with Android? Does this fit into the memory?
Thank you,
gliddie

Please share your work to us.
also, i would like to help you but I never have any experience in rom cooking or porting os. However I have a developer background.
can somebody upload his works? ;p anybody cooked it? I'll be grateful
Yes please!
I'm very interested in Android on my BA.
I am not sure how ActiveSync would work though.
Currently looking at the new HTC Hero......
Thanks
Any new developments on Android for the BA?
I doesn't look like it. No one is really doing anything with it. We need someone to actually work on this.
a wm5 rom i would look for than anyothers.

Did you respond to the right thread?
Hi Folks,
I use a HTC (Touch Viva T2223), I was not sure if this Vogue or Opal. (I have a RAM – 128 MB, Flash Size – 256 MB). Can you please redirect me to the download link of the Android Kernel.
I am not aware on flashing my mobile. Please let me know, how do I do the same. Will the language setting be a problem? I am referring to the keyboard layout.
Also, it would great if you can share information on how do I go back to Windows Mobile, if I had any problem with Android? How will I load Windows on it again?
Thanks in advance for clarifying my queries.
Cheers'
Vijay
Viva = Opal
At the moment, there are now Android builds for Opal. The only thing on these
forums related to Linux is this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462188
I only got my device less than a week ago, but I'm planning on experimenting with this when I can. However, I'm still far from being an expert. So I'm not sure how helpful I'll manage to be.
hmmmm...Thanks for your reply dude!!
Well, dont we have a kernel for our mobile Yet? Doesnt the same build of Touch fits in?

Apparently there are three "Touch"s: "Vogue", "Elf" and "Elfin".
Vogue has a different processor so it's useless. Even though Android can run on it right now.
As for the other two, the difference between them is RAM and ROM sizes. The ELF has less than the min required for running Android so it's a no go.
And nobody managed to get Android to work on Elfin yet (at least as far as I managed to find). Although it's running another Linux build.
Great to know that, the progress is being made..and now we hv a linux on.
Things which amazes me is, HTC touch with lesser RAM, is running Android.!!
Well, Do we have any basic requirements for loading Android OS? I mean, required RAM? Does the email in Android support Microsoft Exchange server?
Heylo Folks.. Any luck on Android for our Opal?
I have one now and guess if its possible.. there is a video that shows it working :S

Android on HTC Touch Viva
Hi guys,
Sorry if any of this was addressed on any other forum (or thread); I looked around for a little while but couldn't find it...
I have a HTC Touch Viva (T2223 - Opal) running WM6.5 after flashing it a couple of months ago. Battery issues appart I'm quite happy with it (sort of, since the only improvement was really the looks on the GUI and now my keyboard is limited to English only). However, this Android thing has been banging on my head and I am looking for a ROM that will make it on my device.
Any clues were I can find it?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

I think what D#1 is that if Android is available for opal itself right now.
Well to that question the answer is yes and no, yes because it exists and is functional and no because its not complete and has umpteen number of glitches. Ppl have been working on it for sometime now and I think we need to show them some appreciation for their consistency even with no incentive at sight.

Hi, thanks Mr. Zeus... Does that mean I should revert to the original WM 6.1 ROM prior to try to run android on my device?
If so, is there any place I can retrieve the 6.1 original ROM for the touch viva t2223?
Thanks for your time (and patience for my newbie questions)

Sure, man.
ROM: Energy 28244 2/12 Dink
Font: sunglobe
IME:
ngn4's EZInput (basically the HTC IME)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=622054
The above setup is what I use now. If you have a Tilt2, you will need to use Tarkim's keyboard controller to remap the hard keyboard back to its stock setting after installing EZInput. Otherwise, you should be set.
I have also tried qq and sogou (formerly plumsip). Both work okay, but for qq, I couldn't figure out how to turn off Chinese; and I don't use sogou because it did not do traditional (or I couldn't figure out how).
Do a google search for the cabs above. You should be able to find them. If you can't find them, you can pm me.
Thank you once again

What does this mean? And how do I go about using Tarkim's keyboard controller to remap the hard keyboard back to its stock setting? Any link or cab to help me do that?

Go to this link, go to post #26, and follow the instructions. I am not sure if you need both the Tilt2HWkeyboard cab and this keyboardconfig file, but I install both of them anyway (no harm in using both).

I've installed an official ROM from SE Asia before, and it seemed to work just fine. Same is probably true for an HK version (where did you find one.. I couldn't find one). However, I don't know what TMO's keyboard looks like since I have a Tilt 2. If it is different than the unlocked version, then you will need to find a way to map it back to stock (I'm sure there's a cab floating out there for that).

Thank you everybody for your great info... I tried the above recomendations and works great on my TP2. One issue is the memory on my device seems to run from initial 53mb down to around 20mb after awhile, anyway to prevent that from happening???
That would be an issue with the rom you chose to flash, I would suggest using one that isnt full of bloatware and adding only what you need....The cab mentioned in the link above is for those who dont have a rom compatable or made for the Tilt 2....There are a few that were made specifically for the Tilt2 and no outside cabs for hardware are needed....Chinese language would be your only obstacle to overcome....
Regards,
WC

You're welcome, dude. I can only take credit for pointing you the right direction. The real hero is the guy who made the cabs available for everyone.
As for RAM, the Chinese input does use up a little extra ram at initial boot, but definitely not 23 MB. At 53MB startup, it sounds like you're using one of Energy's Cookie Roms w/ the stalk start menu. Memory usage has been discussed to death in that thread. Do a search for memory or RAM, and you'll probably find several ways to save RAM. So far, the one that yields the highest results seems to be to replace the start menu. Also, consider using cleanRAM (you can probably find here in xda or in OpnMarket)

That's strange. What ROM are you using? I didn't have any trouble installing it on an Energy ROM (or any other ROM). Is this the cleanRAM you were trying to install?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=514333
Some other ram cleaners include Ram Sweeper and Memmaid. I didn't use them much, so I can really only vouch for cleanRAM.

Answering to this: 2nd December 2012, 11:33 AM?
hibernating perhaps?
Bootloader protection blocks all the possibilities of any Android ROM running on a WP7 device... yes the HD2 has the same basic hardware as the HD7, but they don't share the same logic, nor the same OS or bootloader.
I just want to see this "request" on any WP8 device, that would make my day...

Ativ 3 ? link to that phone please.
I would go for Donut , and when you hacked the "bios !!! " you are almost there.
so your steps to do:
hack IPL bootloader.
hack sbl1.
hack sbl2.
hack sbl3.
hack UEFI.
make drivers for the whole OS.
build a rom.
boot android.
have fun and please post here again when you have it booted

Unfortunately at this time, installing another OS on the phones other than what is already there. I'm a little confused with the ATIV 3 device. If you're speaking about the ATIV Tab 3 and not the ATIV S Windows Phone, then this is the wrong forum location.
If you can reply back with some clarification, I'll be glad to help.
Yes, im sorry i cannot quote i m on my phone, but as you said is the ativ tab 3
here you can see it
This one comes with w8 preinstalled but i ... hate ... windows 8. And i wanted an alternative to this software on a tablet that has a really good hardware and a lot of memory and hdd to spare, iknow that dual booting is possible but apparently only with androidx86, thank you for your answers
OK, that's a moderately-cool looking product, but there's a reason we hadn't heard about it here:
This is the Windows Phone 8 forum. That is not a phone!
