Camera Touch Diamond - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I think that the camera sucks in the diamond. All pictures blurry as soon as the object u taking a picture on moves just a little bit. So my question is, can i change the shutter speed on the camera?

I went into advanced options on the camera application and set it to "Super Fine" and it looks a lot better.

here a quicktip from german forum:
Go into registry
HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/Captparam/
and set
CapKeyDelayTime = 15 (old=1500)
CaptureTimer = 50 (old=5000)
and it may be better.
This works very fine on my O2 Diamond with german ROM.

YES!
That was exactly what I was looking for! It worked perfectly, Thank you!

yes! thats i´m waiting for. thanks!

i see very minimal difference. Up close still focuses just fine. Why aren't these values there by default? I have a feeling it has to do with stability, although I haven't had any issues whatsoever.
nice find.

Anything for the poor video quality if you move the cam?

any idea for that ?

thanks for the fix.. i'm going to try it
i didnt know the camera will take THAT long to focus until yesterday when i was trying to take a pic.. took like 20 seconds b4 it takes it.. lol

can someone provide step by step instructions to get to the registry so I can try this out. I really want to get my camera working without blurring.

just to let you all know, if you use Sport or Burst mode, changing the CaptureTimer to equal 50 will cause both modes to crash when used (and actually freeze up the phone, requiring a soft reset). I haven't played around with changing 5000 to any other values (other than 0), so anyone with time is free to test out which value is stable.

GPS Camera tweak 13 ... but what now?

Hi Guys
i've applied the following tweak from the top thread:
"13. Enable GPS photo: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P10 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1"
Does this now mean the photo's are/can be geo-tagged? If so, how do I use it? I have looked in the camera options but cant see any options in there to turn it on/attach it to a photo.
GPS location is attached in EXIF. Searching would tell you quicker . For viewing location of taken photos use some EXIF reader.
In combination with this question i have one regarding this. If u use geotagging, will gps startup everytime u take a picture? I think it will do so, but like to know for sure.
If you enable GPS photo, you will see an extra cameramode called GPS-Photo, just push "up" and there you go and thats when GPS starts up. You can still take regular pictures without Geotagging easily

It's not a setting, it's a mode!

Question about KaiserTweak function

Hey, I was having some trouble with my TyTN's camera where taking a picture is really really delayed, it was taking a picture literally two or three seconds after I pressed the button.
Now, I inquired about this and someone told me KaiserTweak has an option under Camera to set the camera delay, but in the newest version of the KaiserTweak this option has been removed.
It seems like it would really help and I think I just need the old .cab version but I can't find any older versions of the tool.
Does anyone know why it was removed and/or where I can find an older version?
Cheers.

It was the version from june which had this option, i'm not aware of a newer version than that.
Also, is there a reason you didn't post this in the kaisertweaks thread?
sounds like you got the camera set to full press. you'll need change to half press and maybe turn the shutter sound off. you do this in the settings that are available while the camera is use uses

Thanks, I did this but still it gives a 2 or 3 second delay where if I move my phone the slightest it will capture a blurry image..
The shutter speed is soo damn slow, this has to be the worst camera tool I've ever used on a phone..
Is there no way to reduce the massive delay?
thanks again.

KaiserTweak's Capture Delay setting works for me on every ROM that I run. If you set the camera app to Half Press, and the delay to 0 seconds, but it's still not working, then it sounds like you've got some registry corruption going on there.

The thing is I have no option to set the delay to 0, which is what I need.. The current version of KaiserTweak does not have this feature so I need an older version if anyone has a copy??

KaiserTweak was originally written by Chainfire, but updated XML files are put out by Nikagl. Check out his thread here.

Camera not as good as Mogul?

Hi, I am coming from a Mogul and the camera wasn't great, though it did work in a pinch. Now I have a Sprint Diamond which I love, though the camera is so slow that I cannot take a picture or video without blur. I am not trying to complain as the phone suits my needs very well. The question is, can registry edits be made to improve the camera? Maybe speed up the process a bit?
By the way, thanks for this great site! I have learned so much already!

Good question my friend. Well search for the tool called Advance Config. by default ( and i dont know why) the phone is programmed to have a slight delay when you press the action button and when it actually take the pictures.
So install that app and search for the photo options, there you can set the details, activate another options.
Have fun,

HTC Touch Diamond Camera Lag

As you all probably know, when taking a picture with this phone the camera takes about five seconds to actually take the picture after pressing the button. I did a search and read that I could go into the registry and change a couple things, which I did. However, that did not change the capture time. Does anyone know a fix?
its not neccessary to edit the registry, just search around the options
menue->advanced settings
should be the first entry
greets
Thanks but the first entry is the review time after the picture is taken, used to see what the picture looks like. Not what I was looking to change.
Same problem here, 5 seconds of lag, it makes the sound and the people move thinkink that the picture had been taken but oohh surprise .... so I always get a ghost picture LOL
Same here .... Is totally imposible to take a photo ghost-free
can we use another app to take picture? I know that coolcamera works beautifully with my HTC prophet. Does coolcamera work with touch diamond? Anyone tried? Or any better apps for the camera? HTC camera never respond quickly no matter in what devices. I guess we need to replace the HTC camera with something else.
If you have a delay in taking a photo just change the settings using the Advanced Configuration Tool. Under the camera options, capture delay should be disabled, key delay disabled and capture key delay set to zero.
also, try this:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/Captparam/
and set
CaptureTimer = 0 (old=5000)
Two more things to do - go into the camera advanced settings (in the camera itself) and turn off the click sounds and set the review time to no limit. With those changes I think I have a working camera here...

I know where click sounds and review time are. But How do i get to capture delay, key delay, ect. I know you said use advanced configuration tool. Does that come on the phone? If so how do i get to it? Or is it only on the diamond. Im new to xda and I dont see a thread for the HTC Touch Pro. Which is the phone im using. So I assume anything in the HTC Diamond threads would work with my phone.
Oh I think i just came across it by mistake while reading through threads
is this what you were talking about that i need to have.

I have advanced config, but under the camera catagory, there is only 'save location' and 'gps photo'.

really? Because last night i read through that thread from the link i posted. And i went to the website of advanced config and it shows everything it does. HAlf of it I dont understand. BUt in the list under camera options it showed capture delay should be disabled, key delay disabled and capture key delay set.
But I saw alot of people saying they messed up there phone playing with settings so i havent installed it yet.
DO you have the new version of advanced config?
Cause i would love to speed up my camera

The Touch pro is the Raphael. Here's an article on Advanced Configuration: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=203
You should check out the tips/tricks at fuzemobility.com as well. The Fuze is a variant of the Touch pro and they're identical except for a few things like a push to talk button...

Download Regedit for HTC or whatever register editor and go to HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/Captparam/ there you can edit and modify the timer, with all these tricks the camera is working a little bit better, but Im still getting ghost pictures... I give up with this phone ........
to tek: i had the wrong advanced config. the latest one does have all the camera things. and it works. the lag is only probably about a second and a half know.

Best X1 Camera Settings

I've been playing around with the camera settings as I've realized that the X1 camera usually takes very dark photos indoors. I usually use Sport settings, auto-focus as this is the best picture setting for me. But the picture usually comes out dark.
I've tried Twilight setting, auto-focus, and found out that it's pretty good, clear and bright! However the default for Twilight setting is infinite-focus, which I must admit is very blurry.
Is there any registry or .cabs that can fix this default? It would be the best X1 camera setting: Twilight, auto-focus.
Unless someone has a better alternative?
Edit:
I've played around the registry\HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\Camera but to no avail. Uncertain which one keeps returning the setting to infinite-focus during Twilight after re-opening X1 camera....
something new?
Would like to know the best settings for the x1
i have the R3a update but the framerate in bad light situations sucks
try to use Samsung Omnia Camera to get setting camera good
has someone done that before? is there a thread?
why does no one answer here? so many guys here have the x1...which settings you use for optimal pictures or videos? who tried the omnia camera cab or another one?
probably because not so many people use their x1 anymore. plus it's an old phone, meaning: literally every question has been already answered multiple times.
you can try that omnia-cam, but i doubt it works - different hardware. but try...
apart from that all you can do is play with x1-app, it's better than the htc-app that comes with sense-roms. for lagfree videos it's important that you have a good, fast rom (dynamics, x826). it could also make a difference if you save to main-storage or sdcard (sd being slower than internal memory).
hm the xperia is the phone i daily use so i dont wanne be the testperson^^
is there a thread about this samsung omnia camera-xperia x1?
My suggest:Buy a digital cameral! aha
hoh not funny kim jong il
there must be a solution, maybe in the registry (drivers\Builtin\Camera Sensortype
