Default buying a german stellar (kaiser i think) off ebay - live in uk

Sorry every1 i posted this in the general section , i had plenty of reads but no advice so im posting it here cos the auction im interested in ends very soon. 'just wanna buy a german kaiser and use it in the uk by flashing it with english rom and using in uk network' u don't have to read the rest just answer me this please. is it possible, thanks guys
hello everyone, im glad to be back! haven't used this forum in well over a year and ive missed it. ive decided to get another ppc. i'm looking at getting the tytn 2 off ebay. basically i want just the most powerful spec ppc. apart from the shift and advantage (cant afford them) this seems the best choice. also i would like a qwerty keyboard although b4 i got by with the spb full keyboard but now i want a qwerty one. if anyone can suggest any other ppc's with a high spec let me know plz. i didn't wanna spend more than a 200 quid but after watching ebay for 3 days it seems i have to.i've got 300 quid but for that i'd like a ppc a decent memory card and some bluetooth stereo headphones such as the sony ones. luckily ive got still got loads software (i.e. tomtom) from b4 but that's from older os'es. the one on ebay is 200 buy it now but its shipped from germany.the whole lisitng is in german but at the bottom is says 'attention int. buyers this phone has german software' surely i can just flash it with an english rom such as dutty's? is that correct?just as i was leaving the forums last time. xda-dev had 2 take all the roms down due to a copyright warning from ms. does this mean i have to cook my own? sounds daunting. basically i just wanna know if this german stellar is gonna b compatible on english nets? and if anyones got any suggestions for another ppc. sorry for posting in the general section, maybe this could have went in a different board but i've got 21 hours or so till the auction ends. thanks guys. glad 2 b bk, gareth
p.s. i've got an almost new orbit with a cracked screen. anyone good at fitting screens, or wanna buy it? or sell me a screen lol. ( i still want a newer ppc though) this is why i left the boards- cracked me screen didnt i lol.

no man. most of the times the device ID does not match along with the carrier rom of other operators. so if your device is german operator specific, i dont think it will match along with ur desired rom updated. and since u r planning to buy from ebay, you only have a less chance of getting the full advantage of knowing you can rom update into english

German to English ROM change should be OK

I don't think you should have any trouble - people take devices that started out with WorldWideEnglish on them and flash to different language ROM's all the time. The hardware is the same, the keyboard layout may be slightly different. You will have to follow directions here and Hard-SPL unlock, and may need to do SIM-unlock, but I know it's all do-able.

i wouldnt listen to what ayyu3m said at all. true the ID will be different, but that is one of the reasons we use hardspl. we can bypass the CID and install rom from other kaisers. no problems whatsoever, expect maybe the keyboard layout

yea i agree, cid is counrty id isnt it? still not sure what 2 do. ill have to check the standard german keyboard layout. 200 quid is alot to waste but then again i could whack it back on ebay.has anyone actually tried this?cheers 4 ur reply m8, and the others all appreciated

i will give my tilt, (it's in mint condition) and a black crystal cover (even some bucks) for an htc tytnII even with scratches or little dents (not on the screen).

are you selling your tilt at all?..if so how much?

i want to swap my tilt with a kaiser but if noone comes out i'll sell it an buy a kaiser. i'll sell it for 420USD + shipping (420USD is likely 320Euros).
It has a black crystal cover, 3.5" headphone adapter with mic., it's in MINT condition and always had a screen protector on it.

Why sell it ?
if you need the second camera, there is a mod here on the forums will show you how to add it , and software wise there are so many roms here , that i am sure one of them will fit your needs,
BTW not to rain on your parade, the going price here in the states is about $300 more or less

i know what you ar sayin but i can't find a front camera nowhere in the forum nor in fleabay, i searched everywhere and offered a bounty if someone find it but noone answered, maybe u can tell me more, i'm very addicted to my kaiser i dont want to sell mine but i have to if i dont find a solution.

You must be proud of your tilt.

I will sell you my TYTN II for 200 euros. Ita in mint condition with a lot of added applications (tom tom 7 with maps, skyfire, memmaid etc. Also I have the desktop charger and case.

@ F2504x4: the thread on howardforums is what i saw for making an idea on what i have to do. if you take apart your tilt you will find a chip where the front cam have to go inserted, and then you have to buy a new front face cover with the cam cover. the mobo already has the connector for the front cam it's a plug'n'play thing. but i cant find the cam nowhere in the wole internet!!!

Does it transform or something different than the other Tilts or is the proudness you have for the phone the reasoning behind the jacked up price?

I don't think he is, but $450 for a Tilt... I bought my Tytn 2 with 2 extra batteries and an additional pouch for $430 6 months ago. Tilts were already going for $350 at that time

Maybe the price is too high, maybe i can sell it for lower but if i sell my tilt for lower i can't buy a tytnII because it is more expensive

Okay if you saw my other posts you could tell I needed a bit more then my gold old tilt can provide so I figured I would toss out an option I might be willing to trade away my tilt for something with a bit more screen size Athena Fuze etc... my tilt is fully unlocked running V15 of PDA ultimate Rom (I'll hard reset before I sent it) and I have a 4G Microsd card (I lost the Stock HTC charger well I left it in a hotel in Bothell WA and I really am not driving back up there for it so I charge it with a Motorola mini usb charger and I have a sync cable might even know where the box is but not 100% sure it has had a screen protector on it since day one and is in mint condition except for a scratch near the mini usb port I paid full price it is NOT on a contract you can look at my ebay profile under the same board name, just figured seeing they are still going good it would be worth the time to post it for trade before I list it for sale on ebay. if the deal is good I could even toss in a few extra bucks.

replacement case anyone?

I'm about to sell my kaiser but my daughter dropped it outside recently and it damaged the casing, so does anyone know where to get a replacement outer case (& buttons) from?
I've seen kits on ebay for around £35 and although they have everything I need they include a keyboard which I don't!
Can anyone help??

I see the whole assembly on eBay for £35 including buttons & keyboard. if it has more parts than you need simply resell them on xda or feeBay & you'll recoup some of the initial costs too.

yep ok will do, just so you know it is fully boxed with unused accessories that came in the box and is unlocked completely so it can be loaded with whatever rom you choose from here. At the moment it has a DUTTY rom on it, win 6.1 I think.

I have the original box/case with all the manuals,the phone is in near new-like brand new condition fully operable/functional,includeds usb
cable,charger,2gb sdcard attached,1gb second sdcard with microsd adapter,battery,sim card,carrying case,car charger & gel skin in box
I also have a second G1 that one is in okay condition but the slider is a bit messed up but isnt broken that one also comes with a 2gb SD Card,screen cover,Battery,Sim card Except no charger,usb cable,manuals or box of its own
Im thinking about Amazon or Ebay or Elsewhere or Even any of you! What do u guys think? All and Any advice will be appreciated<<

Next can you use punctuation, it makes it a lot easier to read!
I would expect (maybe) $140 (£65~) to $180 (£110~)
But the prices in the usa may differ from me just converting the prices!
Go on eBay and put some g1s similar to yours, on your watching list and see what they go for.

you might want to check out swappa.com .. came across it last night in a search for a replacement fone .. its only for buying and selling gently used android phones and with each sale they donate a portion of it to cyanogen.. hth
