Hi...sorry if this is in the wrong place
Im a student, and I would like to know if there is a program that I can set up a time and it will automatically set the phone to ring/vibrate, and then switch at another time.
i.e. I want the tytn to set to vibrate on weekdays at 7:30 (thats when school starts)...then change to ringer at 2:30.
then have it on ringer durng the weekends.
Thanks!
OOO please
i need this to so bad. please someone tell me that this program exist. Thanks
go to your clock and alarms under sittings your tytn has multipal alarms and you can choose what rings your can set to it
sbp phone suite....but it is pay to use software. Works great though. You can customize pretty good.
There are quite a few free ones out there, try looking around here: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
There is nothing better than SBSH's PhoneWeaver. You can set up profiles that can change a number of settings, but most importantly the ringer. I have mine set up to go to vibrate on the days that I'm in the office, then ringer at lunch and when I'm at home, quiet in the evenings when my daughter goes to bed, and then silent at night. You can also set up temporary profiles, so that basically if I'm going to dinner somewhere, I can tell it to go on vibrate for an hour, and then it will automatically switch back to the previously set profile when that hour is up. It's well worth the $15, but there is a trial so that you can test it out to see if you like it.
Oh, and no, I do not work for SBSH, I just love their products.

Hi, i'm new to Qtek 2020i (XDA IIi) and i'm wondering how do i set profiles like what it used to be in Nokia, where we have silent mode, and so on.
How can i do that?
Also, how can i switch to vibrate mode or silent mode and i still have my alarm ringing loud?
Is there any ways i can do that or any software that can do that?
If you tap the speaker icon on the top bar, the popup volume slider has three preset settings.
1) On , just returns to the last volume setting
2) Silent, deactivates the volume but enables the vibration.
3) Off , as you would expect, no vibration or audio
There is a better profile tool but it was a part of the o2 customised GUI. However i find the three default settings do me fine
Thank you. Wat about having it on vibrate or off and the alarm still able to ring on full volume?
I think you cant do that, but as a kinda work arround you would need to put the phone in flight mode (turn off the phone function) but leave the sound on.
Just means you wont recieve any sms or calls untill you enble the phone again.
Try looking at Pocket Zen Phone, search the forums
I bought Pocket Zen Phone, it's a brilliant little app, and very cheap, so no excuse for not buying when it's so fairly priced.
so besides spb pocket plus and diary, what other apps is the best to use? I mean most popular and definitely a need by most of ppc users?
Mate that has to be the most commonly asked and most difficult question to answer - what you want/need to do with your device defines that.
As for a list, here is mine.
Hi,
I generally only need to use bluetooth in my car, so I was wondering if there was any way to automatically turn bluetooth on when my phone get plugged in to the cradle? All that is needed is to detect whether the phone is charging or no and to turn bluetooth on/off appropriately
I'm sure there was some phone management software that did something like this, but can't remember its name
hi, eg sbsh phone weaver know how to do it..
I know TomTom does it automatically. When you startup TomTom it turns on bluetooth then when you exit TomTom it shuts the blue tooth off. So there I am sure if there is a need someone will write an app.
Lots of other navigation software do not turn BT automatically on or off. The simplest way to do it is with a mortscript. Mortscript is a free program that allows creating files very similar to autoexec.bat or config.sys in the good old DOS days.
Another way is with pocketmax phone alarm, you can create a car profile (as well as other profiles...)
Just few of the many possible ways
Thanks for the replies guys,
I have found phoneAlarm by PocketMax which will automatically detect when I put the phone on its cradle i.e. power but no active synd. IT will then switchon bluetooth for me. As soon as I disconnect from the cradle i.e. go back to battery power, BT gets turned off
SPB PhoneSuite could do this as well if you wanted.
Here is a little script that automatically turn BT on then pair with the BT headset as strereo headset and handfree kit and after launch mort player.
Maybe, you will have to modify it a little.

As I said, just a few of the many posibilies. What I like about Mortscript is that it's free and can do an awful lot, your skil's the limit.
What I like about PhoneAlarm is that it can configure just about everything I'd like to configure without even using my Mortscript skills. Most important for me:
-it makes sounds a lot louder than normal Hima maximum volume.
-it reminds me of my missed calls, appointments etc as often as I want.
Wasn't disgreeing/contradicting by any stretch of the imagination, just pointing to another alternative. I've found SPB's stuff to be both amazingly useful and rock solid over the 2-2.5 years I've been using their stuff so I figured I'd point to a reasonable solution.
I do like that MortScript's free, but I'm one of those that tends to be better at hurting oneself with scripting than helping out. I don't have the time to play with it as much as I'd like. Isn't PhoneAlarm also a paid package?
And I'm not sure what you mean by "louder than normal Hima..." - do you mean PA is kicking the volume louder than you can set on the phone directly?
For what it's worth, PhoneSuite can also remind you of missed calls and SMS messages. The rest it leaves to WM. For me, I don't mind it being quiet about missed appointments.

Neither was I, come on. You're perfecly right that SPB makes perfect and rock solid software. I don't know their PhoneSuite well, just from reading their site it looks to me like much less value for a buck than my personal favorites.
Yes indeed, phoneAlarm can make all sounds from key clicks up to ringtones and speaker phone, even navigation software much louder. That doesn't improve sound quality, but when I walk through noisy Amsterdam it does increase the chance that I hear an incoming call or appointment reminder.
And Just in case I'd still miss them, it keeps reminding me every 5 or 10 minutes. For me indeed very important.
Our devices can do just about anything (I'm trying to learn it to make coffee), it's just a matter of taste which software to use (black, 2 sugar)
I found PA to be overpowering, so we're just on different areas of the spectrum. Plus, I picked up PhoneSuite as a part of a package from them (Mobile Shell, Insight, GPRS Monitor, Phone Suite) and that saved about 40% of the total buying them individually.
Does PA let you set notifications to vibrate as well as play a sound? That's the feature that saves my butt for Appointments - PhoneSuite lets you do that. I prefer that to just louder.
You don't have a hot key to pull up Starbucks.com?

PA can vibrate anything. I once accidentally turned on the vibrate on accepting a call, very weird sensation. But vibrate doesn't work too well in a full hand bag.

I don't like Starbucks, the coffee is way too strong, then they mask that with lots of whipped cream, spices, flavours and a check that could buy me a nice SPB suite.
Hey guys,
I've tried searching about everywhere, and it almost seems like im an isolated incident, but...
Im currently running WM6.1 on my vario 3. I've set my alarm to go off each night, sounding the typical alarm. I've got the "enable sounds for Notifications (Alarms, reminders)" bit ticked. However, i put my fone on silent before i go to bed (because i get random emails and txts thru the night which wake me up ). Because of this, the fone doesnt reactivate the sounds for the alarm... so all i get is a little notification come up sayin that the alarm is going.
As you can imagin, having a notification pop up isnt going to wake you up...
Is there any way that i can have my fone on silent, and yet have the alarm sound in the morning? I dont particularly want to run any other clock app, as with the built in one, its running all the time and its set for monday-friday.
Is this even possible? or do i have to get another app?
thanks guys!
Sure it's called AIRPLANE mode. Just turn the phone part off and crank that volume up.
yea, that would work too...
but im curious as to whether there is any way of doing this without having to turn the phone function off...
back on my SE k800, the alarm would still do its thing even in silent mode... and if the fone was off
You have to use a third party app.
go to sounds and notifications in the settings area. then turn off the recieve new emails notification. This is what I do since I receive junk emails late at nite too.

but then, wouldnt you have to reenable these again in the morning? otherwise, u wont be notified of when you get important/real mails?
Thinking out loud here - Couldnt you have a meeting mode or some other mode where you set all the other notifications to silent but leave the alarm loud and when you go to bed put it in that mode?
I will admit I am just tlaking off the top of my head and have not actually tried it. Just a suggestions?

I use PhoneWeaver with scheduled profiles. So at 11:30pm the phone goes silent in the Night profile, and at 5:30am the phone switches back to Day. I have a 5:45am alarm set to go off in the alarms.
You can do the same with PhoneAlarm ... or PhoneAlarm Lite.
http://www.sbsh.net/product.php?id=28
http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.html
PhoneAlarm definitely has more options and configurations, but I've found PhoneWeaver to be simpler, more reliable and it covers the features I use.
There are some free solutions for profile switching out there too, if I can find them I will repost.

ya. this this where it really sucks. I don't know why wm6 don't have diferent ring profiles.
if anyone knows of any free solutions or programs, please let us know.
Sorry if this is a hijack - i've never used the feature, but what does the icon on HTC Home's phone announcement mode with the clock do? There's Loudspeaker Ring On, Silent, Vibrate Only, and then another option that I haven't yet figured out the purpose of.

i would like to know too. i thought this was the other profile but seems to be the same as the ring on. Anyone have the answer?
i thought they were just like "profiles"... like how when u click on the sound icon in the taskbar, uve got the dropdown menu with the 2 volume levels, with the 3 options underneath it...
those alarm clocks sound good, possibly the best option so far...
but im still holding onto the dream that there is some way of actually using the alarm like you would do with a normal fone... hopefully the xperia would still have SE functionality
is there any way for the alarms to repeat every min till i snooze it ?? also itd be great to set a loud mp3 as an alarm.
any good third party alarm ??? other than phone alarm ??
i find phone alarm very confusing and buggy.
@billgatessucks and corleno
Try enAlarmPPC. You can use MP3 as alarm sound, vibrate, random, snooze, and choose to override system sound settings. You can completely turn off all your sound, and enAlarmPPC will still give you sound!
[EDIT] Added some screenshots; BTW only $8.00 at Handango

does this app run all the time in the background? or do u need to open it up like u would with any program etc?
so i can either put my fone on silent, and then remember to open up an app... or... i just put the fone into flight mode? :S
I need help finding an application that will mute/disable my e-mail notifications during certain specified hours (say 11pm to 6am). I know I can change my off hours thing to only receive every X amount of time, but 4 hours is the max. I plugged in my headphones to "mute" the phone, but I still have vibrate on (which I want). I'd just turn off the phone, but I want to be able to receive emergency phone calls throughout the night.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
I use Gprofile from Ageye. I have a profile set up that changes all events to do nothing at all from 1am to 8am, i think it may work for you too. It takes a little bit of work to set it up but after you get it to work its pretty solid.
http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=gprofile/about
I use PhoneAlarm (www.pocketmax.net)
Does far more than that but is not overly complex and is highly skinnable.
Is paid for software tho.
+1 for gProfile. It is a wonderful program.
Thanks guys for the replies. I've tried phonealarm but am not having success in it muting notifications. I tried CT Scheduler, and where that does work, it's muting ALL sounds phone ringer & notifications. I need just notifications muted. I am going to try out Gprofile so thanks again!!! I'll report back.
Really?
I have mine set so that after 11.30pm and until 5.30am, if I get a call it will ring, but all else is silent. Stops me getting disturbed by junk emails etc.
What bits are you having problems with?
You could run the Seven push mail software (beta.seven.com). I do, and it works great, and it's free. It lets you set quiet times, and it doesn't mute anything else.
I love G-Profile. Works incredibly well. I have it mute my phone M-F from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Additionally, I have a nice and quiet mail notification for hours outside of work.
The sky is pretty much the limit with this app.
http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=download
note: To mute it during sleep hours, I made two profiles (both called 'sleep). The first one, I have run from Sunday-Thursday from 10:30 PM to 11:59 PM, and then I have another run Monday - Friday from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Had to do this because my profile spanned days. It sounds messy, but it really isn't and works nicely. Actually, you can do more than mute. You can change the notifications just for mail and text, and retain a ringer at a lower volume, etc.
Hey Guys, just wanted to report back that GProfile is PERFECT. Thanks for the solution.
It took a bit to dig into the documentation, but I believe I've got my profile worked out properly now.
lacrossev - If it helps, what I'm doing (according to suggestion from the documentation) is my "night" profile sits at #1 and runs from 11pm to 6am, and it actually changes my e-mail notifications by simply unticking play a sound and vibrate. Then my "day" profile sits at #2 starts at 6:01am and ends at like 10:30pm which simply re-ticks those options. PERFECT for me 'cause I still want SMS & Voice to come through.
So thanks again!
Glad ya like it! I'd gladly pay for the software - I know, I should donate. I will, it's just nice to feel like I got it for free for awhile. Ageye makes wonderful stuff. I'm also a huge fan of g-light and g-alarm.
so currently i use the app "Do Not Disturb" which sets a timer (I have it from 10pm-5am) so that my phone gets switched to silent while I sleep and I won't get woken by my friends drunkenly calling me all night long... what I'm wondering, is if there is any app like Do Not Disturb, except with some kind of white list, so I can set it so if my Mom calls (might be an emergency) it will still ring. any ideas? i've looked but haven't been able to find something like that.

Maybe setup a rule in Locale to ring at maximum when a certain contact calls?

Haven't seen anything like that, but seems like a perfectly reasonable feature.
Maybe the dev would be receptive to adding such a feature if you contact them?
second this request.
even the cheap nokias and sony ericssons have it. been missing it since I started using wm/android. found some sw that did it on wm, but they all sucked
with the google contacts groups, this shouldn't be to difficult, should it? I would like to have it implemented in an app like 'profiles'
Foxyring. Amazing app. Everything you want and more.
It's main purpose is to every so often(user adjustable) turn on the mic and listen to the ambient noise wherever you are(even if the phone is in your pocket) and raise or lower the volume of your ringtones. I have noticed no effect on my battery at all.
Second it comes with a widget to silence your phone for a period of time. Like you use for the movies.
It has an option for sleeping hours. Always be silent between blah and blah.
And then it has exactly what you are looking for. An emergency contacts list that will ring regardless of the ringtone status.
Also has a location aware setting like locale for other ringtone options. i.e. change your ringtone from "BOOTY EVERYWHERE" to Bethovens 5th when you are at your moms automatically.
App placed in top three for ADC2. It deserved it. I have not adjusted my rigtone volume in the past 3 weeks and it has been perfect everytime.
