Fring: Will not launch on my Wing. seems to be common problem. Any fixes?

Hello,
I downloaded Fring off of their site, installed the file. Its on my 'desktop' now with an icon and says 'fring is currently offline'...
When I click it, i get a progress icon and then nothing. When I find it in Programs and open it, i get the same thing. I never get any login windows or anything. I am always successfully connected to wifi when I do this.
Is there something I am missing? Do I need to change any memory settings or anything? I am pretty much running my Wing with 'out of the box' settings.
Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.
chris
I just installed it and ran it with no proble ............. try going to fring.com on your device and download the .cab file from there and re-install it
tried that twice now... seems after the install, it starts up fring and i get the FRING IS LOADING screen but it goes no further. Is this app a memory hog or something? Or is it just buggy?

Last post is from someone who has your same issue on the Wing. I've got a Hermes (TyTN) and it doesn't start on that device either (splash screen pops, then program dies with no error messages, etc.)
Sounds like fring has known about this for awhile but no progress so far Fring support referred me to their blog, but nothing of use their, nor in the forums from what I've found so far:

Not that this helps you much, but Fring worked great first time on my Wing. But then it stopped connecting shortly thereafter, just like you described. But then I uninstalled/reinstalled Fring and it has been working since.
SOLVED
I just solved that problem.
The problem was the program VoipAudiosrv, an error with that program. Just uninstall fring AND voipaudiosrv, restart your phone, and reinstall fring. You will be asked to re install voip audio srv: do it. Now it should work.

Fring - How did you install it?

Hi,
I am having trouble installing Fring on the latest Dutty Rom. Has anybody else experienced this problem?
I install the cab to either memory or storage and it still does the same thing... It just loads the splash screen up and hangs there?
I contacted fring about this problem and they replied with the following:

I see alot of people on this forum using Fring and I was just wondering how they went around installing it?
Thanks,
Colin Jensen
Worked fine for me on Dutty's V3 - I installed it and ran it with wi-fi turned off and was surprised that it automatically turned wi-fi on to connect.
Same here
Yeah, I got the same problem on my phone. I have had Fring on my before but it was acting buggy so I uninstalled it and looked for the newer version of it and tried installing it but I install it and like you said the splash screen comes up and just hangs.
Did you ever get it to work? I see that this is an old thread.

I had the same problem on my phone when I installed for a brief period of time last week. I ended up uninstalling......
i have installed the cab on a number of ROMS, never had any issue..
official tilt 6.0 rom didn't work, q mobile 1.2 rom didn't work...official tilt 6.1 rom, @ least it actually opens now (no more error screen) but doesn't get past loading. 3 roms, still haven't been able to get it working over here.
yep, confirmed, same problem, multiple roms, multiple ways of installing, multiple connections when opening program, Fring is still just stuck on the splash screen that says "Fring is loading" I had it working at one point in my Kaiser's life but nothing now seems to revive it, been trying for months, there are no fixes that I have seen online. Any good alternatives?
No problem so far.....
been using it for over 1month now....
installing and uninstalling for more than 8times
i justgot my kaiser....thats why with all thecustomization....
am using a russian Wm6.1 rom
I have the same issue
I tried every known fix that can be googled... I also contacted Fring... no help. It seems to be a huge problem with the 6.1 Roms. Someone here should have a fix...
Nope, it's fring's job to get it right, not much we can do... and they unfortunately dont seem to care much about WM6.1 users given the number of reports they've had for weeks/months about the problem and their everlasting "we're gonna investigate it" answer.

Yep, they just released a new version that works.
Language settings
I've the same problem with Fring that I've with google map.
My PPC regional settings are set to China, since it's the olny way to display chinese caracters everywhere in the OS (notice the OS is in English).
But, fring's language (like google map) is choosen according to those settings... it's very annoying.
Does anybody if there is a way to disable this feature (registry hack...) ?
Thanks,
Fring on kaiser
i just installed fring on my kaiser im using duttys_wm6.1 hybrid v2 and dont have a problem with it. it loaded up properly and everything seems to be working. my only thought is maybe a high amount of cpu usage, (programs that are running from start-up?) that is slowing everything down and causing the app to hang of freeze. thats just my thought. im probably wrong. anytime i have an issue with any kind of app freezing of not starting up thats usually were i look first. i hope that this helps. if not im sorry and at least i tried.

Skype And Kaiser

I Installed Skype But It Doesn T Work And I Tried A Lot Of Version But When It Start The Screen Of Skype Desappear Suddelly
Plz Can Someone Help Me
Thanks A Lot
Edit/Delete Message
I have not had any problems with Skype, except with 6.1.
It works with all versions of 6.0 that I tried, which is most of them.
Skype is not working with WM 6.1
I can use skype as well, but everyone says I'm to silent....
I cant find the bug, I'm holding the Kaiser like at a normal call (and the mic is working perfect...)
anyone else the same problem?
Skype won't work on 6.1
I thought maybe 6.1 needed net CF 3.5 but it gave me errors during installation..and then errors removing it too. So skype doesn't work still...is there a fix for this???
Same problems i met.
3.5 installed but problem is still there. who can help?

Tilt 6.1 ROM and Java Apps.

Hello,
Since flashing my ROM on Tuesday to the stock ATT 6.1 ROM I have had problems running my Java Apps (Opera Mini, and Gmail).
They are crashing, and extremely unresponsive. I never had these issues with the stock ROM before.
Any ideas and what the problem might be and or how to fix it? Anyone else seeing anything similar?
Thanks
David
Same deal
Yeah, I'm having the same problem, gmail app runs but then crashes when you try to login... lame... I'm going to try installing a different java machine...

Windows Live Connection Problems

I've recently downloaded a live messenger cab from here after my palringo account seemed to go down the drain....
doing a search it seems there were a number of problems with bringing messenger in but i couldnt find a definitive answer to my problem.
It seems to sign in fine and i can chat away...however should i leave it for a little while the connection drops after a while. If i chat continuously this doesnt seem to happen.
I dont know if this is a setting issue, a program issue or a network issue (which is T-mobile)
I'm flashing the Dutty WM6.1 ROM tonight so i dont know if that will fix it.
Any help is appreciated!
