There's two programs that can do similar to Dynolicious, but last I checked, they're no where near as nice, no HP, but you can still have 0-60 and stuff.

I literally just bought my at&t tilt today, and when I bought it the guy I got it from suggested I come here to do some digging on modifying/personalizing my Tilt to my liking. Now, I'm somewhat of a computer nerd. I can work through most issues with my PC without having to call customer service or hit up forums or anything. I have no experience with pocket PCs or windows mobile however.
I've read the multiple notices here advising to read around first before asking dumb questions, but I have to say that I'm still completely lost and don't even know where to begin. I really don't have complicated intentions, I'm almost 100% satisfied with the phone as-is...regardless, I still just have no idea what to even start with, so I figured I would just throw that out there and hopefully get pointed in the right direction. Hopefully I'll be able to take it from there, but the tutorials, wikis, and FAQs that I was advised to browse through first (and I apologize if I'm just not seeing it, again I'm a WM noob) just aren't getting me there.
All I'm really interested in doing is changing my home screen. Other things I want to do I don't even know if it's possible to do so, or if I even have to download anything!
So maybe just one more shove in the right direction?
Try This
This is not going to change your rom......This will give a new look totally...I think you'll like it...Install it from your desk top

I agree here

Wisbar advance (check out the skins for this app..)
If you know a bit of XML try RLtoday
oh, and search for "Ultimate launch" on the forum...
ummm check out the second link in my sig.
I'm in the same boat as you. There is so much information here, it's quite overwhelming. I want to get the most out of my device, but I just don't have he time to really get into it.
Well you have to start somewhere, so just say where you want to go.
Would you like to make the phone look different?
Would you like to add your own ringtones?
Themes?
gps stuff?
roms?
seriously look at the second link in my signature.
I suggest that you use it for a while to get used to it, then read, then try changing it. Just my 2 cents.
I'm guessing your question is more basic than the answeres provided. If you just want to change your today screen, check out the "Today" applet under "Settings" on the start menu. You can choose from a variety of default plugins, and some of them have options you can change (simply click the options button if it's enabled). As you install more apps, they may have Today Screen plugins as well.
DO NOT GO THROTTLE LAUNCHER.... i like the guy that developed it but it has become obsolete with manilla 2d, personally i stayed away from flashing for a long time but now that i have started i'm addictted it provides alot better preformance from your ppc, i would highly recommend it
my favorite rom right now is the garmin dk4 manilla just make sure you read up before, its not that complicated once you get the hang of it. biggest thing is make sure to flash hard spl before you flash anything else
Here's some advice from someone who has had pocket pc's for a long time. I am also half a century old, so this advice comes from experience and not theory.
Keep your Kaiser/TyTN II/Tilt, whatever it is, as stock standard as possible. Do not flash new roms etc etc. This is the cause of most problems here unless you are really clued up on this, which it seems you are not at the moment. I won't even try it.
There are many third party apps out there and in here which will not affect the normal functioning and enjoyment of your device. Most of them are freeware.
Today themes are dime a dozen, heck, you can create your own with freeware apps like ThemegenCE (Desktop app which creayes the Tsk file for your device theme and even TKCreator which is a theme creation app directly on your device I (Also freeware and more basic than the former).
You need Total Commander, a freeware File Explorer much better than than one shipped wth the device. Quickmenu 2.7 makes using the device a pleasure and hardly requires the stylus. This provides a task manager, drop down menus, controls for device utilities like bluetooth, wifi, soft resetting etc. You also need Mortplayer which is the best MP3 player and is freeware and of course TCPMP with flashvideo bundle for video clips/movies/flash video from websites etc. This all for free. Heck, here are even freeware GPS apps for navigation out there, eg Amaze GPS and Nav4All, or just go full hog and buy the best like TomTom. TodayAgenda is a Today Plugin for calendar appointments and is one of the best and totally free. S2U2 developed by A_C from XDA is a cool screen saver/slide to unlock app which is free and highly customisable with animated gifs as wallpaper etc.
This would be a good start for you.

MAC

I want to quickly thank the members of this forum for all the software devlopment and "how to"s they provide. Me and my AT&T Tilt thank you.
I've been looking for a thin client. If you are familiar with other programs like Microsoft Terminal Services Connection (MSTSC), VNC, or Citrix then you know what I'm taking about.
I've searched with several keywords nad it's the first thing I havn't been able to find here on xda-developers.
Stop reading here if you don't care why I'm asking for this.
I work for a small business and part of my responsibility is IT help desk. Recently I've started working on my degree and am out of the office every afternoon.
If I get a help desk call and am at home I started using VNC on my home PC to check out their desktop. This usually cuts my calls from half an hour to five minutes. Seeing as I'm not paid for time this is a good thing.
Soon I'll be spending much more time on campus. Actually, the main reason I bought this phone was so that I could support my office immediately while remaining mobile.
So, does anyone know of a good thin client I could use? Thanks in advace.

Is it integrated into WM6.1 (and I've missed it) or is it a download I need to get?
I'm definitely willing to give it a shot.
Sorry for my noobishness. I've only had my phone for about two weeks now.

A bit of research shows that it should be part of WM 6 but I do not have it for some reason. I don't know what the local forum rules are so I'll err on the side of safety and just say searching google for "Window Mobile Remote Desktop Client" will quickly lead you to a solution for re-installing the application if you do not have it.
Thank you for the help.
The new thread for Cinemo is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=516695
If you download it, could you please let me know what you think about it? This is my first WinMo app and I would like it to be as great as it can be.
Thanks in advanc,
Daniel Gary
I love where this app could go.
Suggestions:
* Rotten Tomstoes or Metacritic ratings and sortings
* Favorite theater settingd
* Next day or week times
* Imdb link
Thanks for the program!
Wow. pretty good app. its not heavy and closes easily. is this seriously your first? the only thing it lacks that i could think of is landscape support and a mileage option so i can search a few miles outside of my zip. im in st louis so i have the option of theaters in illinois and missouri. it wont read both. but thats nitpicking on my part. great app. and good timing also. my pocket express movie showtimes expired today...
Looks like is for USA only; any plans for a worldwide version?
I tried to install in a spanish rom touch pro. The installation was ok, but when I try to open the app it gives an error...
I`m very interesting in this app...
Thank you in advance
Regards
@jesusishere
I love your ideas for the most part. I am not sure I can pull next day or next week showtimes(it depends on if a theater reports them early or not). But I certainly like the idea of a rotten tomatoes or metacritic score and an imdb link. Thanks for the input!
@justin747
I hadn't really considered landscape support that necessary since it doesn't require in text input throughout the app. What would you use it for exactly?
@DANDANA
I would love to implement a worldwide version. It's certainly something to think about
@jrbarricane
What error did you get when you opened the app?
Well, if i try to open the app without a connection, it gives me an error, but I can't tell you becouse it says that i need to have the .neterrormeseges... or something like that, installed (not the .net 3.5 that I do have it...).
If I open the app with a connetion (activesync or wifi) then it opens, but when I try to see the file of a movie, then gives me same error...
Sorry for my horrible english... I do my best...

Yes, I just found the issue with movies with no showtimes in the area giving an error. I'm working to fix it right now.
also do you think you could possibly add:
Directions to the theater?
searching by specific movie? (To see where it is playing)
Searching by specific theater? (That one special theater you like)
Ill let you know of anything else i can think of.

"Searching by specific movie"
Isn't that how it works right now? You scroll to the movie you want, pick it, and there is a dropdown box of theaters to pick from?
As to the theaters, that is certainly something I have been planning on. It shouldn't take too much work.
yeah sorry i just did not realize the drop down box lol. Good work i love the app so far.
Outstanding application! Works fine on my Touch Pro.
Many Thanks!
I was thinking about writing something just like this. Awesome job. Where do you get your theater list?

Way to go
how do you "enter" or select the new zip code, i see how to enter a new one, but not how to make that the zip code to find movies for

Hello. I have been searching the internet, without any luck though of finding the programs i want.
First, i want a program, like ShopSavvy is for the Android, where i can use it on my touch pro to scan barcodes of products and find the best price.
Second, i am wondering if there is a way to have Google Street View on the touch pro. I have already seen KDKobes Google Maps Street View 2.3.1, from our forum. I was wondering though if there is an "official" or "fully working" program, as in KDJobes program unfortunately, location-data support and GPS integration aren’t working with this version of Google Maps.
Third, i want a program, like I-phone has, for Drinks (bartender?), same cool skins and graphics environment maybe?
Fourth, again like I-phone has a program where you record a song on the phone and then it goes through the internet and finds you possible matches.
Please, bare with me, as i a m new and maybe i didn't have enough luck or "easiness" finding these type of programs i want. Yes maybe i saw some "looking like them but weren't afterwards the programs i wanted, cause their functionality wasn't after all what i was searching for and was mislead by their Title Name.
So if you please know any "freeware/ or have to buy" programs that are exaclty as the one's i have described please feel free to post and tell me.
Thank you very much in advance,
Chris
let's see
1. barcode readers:
i-nigma barcode reader
QuickMark 3.3
Aura - but donno if this still works.....
2. Street view is officially supported by the latest Google Maps
http://www.google.com/mobile/default/maps.html
3. didn't heard of such a program for wm
4. i know a program it's called Music ID
hope that helps try to search harder next time
search diamond beer for a drink app that turns your phone into a glass of alcohol , if you mean a bartender then just do more searching also the site Fuzemobility.com is now your best friend go there all the time look at everything there . if you still haven changed ROMS on your phone i suggest you go get NRG's new winmo6.5 build 3.0 ROM . it has alot of improvements over the stock ROM , anymore questions just ask me
Is there an app that uses the GPS to track how much you've cycled and your speed etc? I think such apps exist for the iPhone but I'm looking for something for windows mobile.
gotta love fuzemobility lol

Just giving you a heads up don't go looking for everything that the Iphone has for your phone. Most of the time it will not be there. on to you questions
Shop savvy is a great program. Our closest thing is "Barcoroma"
Google street view. I use google maps from NRG'z Rom and I can get street view on it.
Drinks IDK your on you own for this one
Song recognition. Well try out Music ID works great for me.

Where does everyone go to get there the PPC software?
I go to http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php, although its not complete list and new releaase of an application can take a couple of days to make it to thier site. I find the site easy to navigate and search. The catagories and rating system help for filtering.

Will only specific apps run on android? Its just my mate wants to get Freecaddie on his Hero, and I have it on my Touch HD. I have checked on the website but not sure whether to try and put the winmo cab on and run that or will it mess the phone up... any help greatly appreciated..
I'm not a programmer so I could be completely wrong, but I don't think that will work. That's like trying to run a Windows program on a Linux machine - unless the developers specifically made a Linux version it just won't work. Probably the best thing for your friend to do is look around on the market for that application or a similar one.
(And before a Linux defender comes to correct me - yes, I know you can get windows emulators that run in Linux, but I'm not aware of those existing for phones.)
Ia m may get flamed here, but i am sure , a windows moblie app will not run on a linux based os, unless some one has made W.I.N.E (linux geeks like myself will understand) for andriod then No sorry !!

@Milesjasjar
It won't work. As another poster mentioned though, search the market. I've found apps to do most things (apart from a really good calendar app!!!)
P.S. Good luck for Saturday, hope the Saints do it. It's about time.

If what you don't like with the HTC calendar is that it displays all events on the monthly view in exactly the same way, you can try the Pure Calendar widgets (dev's website here). The 'Grid' one displays a coloured bar at the top of each day in a monthly view, its length representing how long the appointment is and the colour which calendar it's part of. It loads data from Outlook and Google calendars without trouble. The dev also makes an agenda style widget, but I haven't used it. Unfortunately you have to pay about £1 for either.
Hi,
Thanks I'm already using Pure Calendar and have the Grid too. I agree it's the best available at the mo but having just moved over from WinMo I'm waiting for someone to release a major app like Pocket Informant. Unfortunately developers seem wary as they are not sure people will be willing to pay £20 for an Android app (although I would be if it's good enough!)

Cheers for the responses guys.. at least I know what to expect when i get my own hero... I keep looking but still not ready to make the jump, guess I am far to comfortable with the Winmo UI. But the gap is closing on the usability.. as long as i can import everything from outlook, and find a free golf program then i might make the jump sooner..
