Hi,
is there a programm that allows you to update the weather and the e-mails every time the pda connect to a wifi hotspot?
track1cs
I did it with MortScript, but it doesn't work automatically (i.e. I have to start the script manually): update of wather, RSS and mails.

Hi,
with my palm I used to sync automatically every morning with a program that turned the PDA on and performed a wifi sync (an it allows to have every morning all the news updated in my rss reader or avantgo).
Now with my wizard I can't (activesync can't sync by wifi), but I would like at least to start automatically the wifi connection in order to open the rss feed and sync it by WIFI.
Does somebody know how to turn WIFI on without going to the comm manager? (via an direct access on executing a program...)
I could then create an alarm that executes it every morning...
Thanks!

This combined with buttonMax from the same site will let you run a macro as an alarm, so should do the job
I'm having a different problem to the standard 'Live not working' that I've seen here! I'm on T-Mobile in the UK so grabbed the latest Live cab and installed on my default ROM.
I've got two probs...
I can't get more than one folder to synchronise in Live?!?
Live ALWAYS uses the data connection even when my LAN is available
Firstly... push mail worked fine initially, but then I set up a couple of new folders on my Live inbox....and now it freezes every time it tries to sync over the data connection. I added the folders via web login, then went to 'manage folders' option on the phone and selected my new folders for synchronising. I've got it on manual sync these days as I don't like the 'always on' connection
Anyway, with a single Inbox folder, sync worked fine, now with three folders it ALWAYS freezes up with the progress icon spinning....if I look in the folder list view I can see the little sync symbol next to the new folders but it just fails. No error message, no info, it just sits there doing nothing (I checked GPRS monitor, it's really doing nothing
So secondly...Tried connecting wirelessly over my WLAN and no luck, the email sync still initiates the data connection. When I used the Live icon in the programs menu, WLAN sync will correctly use the available wireless connection, but the 'messaging' app in the phone ALWAYS defaults to the data connection.
Is this because its the same messaging service that supports SMS/MMS or something else?
Cheers for any thoughts, hope I'm being an idiot!!!
I have been having issues with Windows Live ever since upgrading from my Hermes to the Tilt. But I am still able to successful sync more than one folder (that is, if the WL syncs at all). I just added two new folders to sync, same process you followed, and despite WL giving me a "sync failed" message, they both synced fine.
I am using At&t running WL version 10.6.0033.0600 on austinsync's BigStorage Rom
As for the WL over WLAN, my experience has been, the only way WL will sync over WLAN is if there is no other data connection available. Try turning your phone off in the comm manager and seee if WL connects over WiFi then.
I have an acoount on windowsmail.com, and direct push works well, and
I theoretically can turn it off in comunication menu, but....
when any intrenet data come to the phone (like weather update or quickgps), mail is synchronised.
Is there any way tu turn direct push easy and permanently, or every time i want to have no mail synchro i need to turn off synchronization in settings of windowsmail inbox?
No experience with MS push mail, so an 'educated guess'. ActiveSync is loaded continuously and tries to synchronize automatically in the standard settings. Maybe it works if you put that to 'manual' in the ActiveSync 'schedule' menu. It also contains the option to synchronize on 'new item arrival' (is this a form of direct push?), '5 min', '10 min', etc.
Hi,
Is there a possibility to force the weather update of the HTC home plugin USING COMMAND LINE instructions?
I created a script that regularly connects to the internet, synchronizes my contacts and email and at that time of connection, I want to force the weather update too.
Any idea how to do this (the same behaviour as when you tap on the bar on the weather-tab)?

Hi.
I use internet on my diamond only with wifi and active sync.
I have set it up (using thirdparty software) to connect and sync mail and calendar every morning at a special time.Would like to hawe the weather to sync automatically too.... Now i have to update it manually and I seems to forget it.... a lot of days....
Is there any way to update it using scripts, manually download the weatherfile etc?
Some way to fix this using manila and parameter (manila.exe -weather-update or something?????)?
Thanx/M
I would find that very helpful, too.
