hey all.. when i receive a text the person sending me the text has a different time then the actual time on my phone.. is this a common problem?? thanks for the help in advance!!
is ur phone time set right?
the time on the SMS is sometimes set by the Service Center that the message goes thru. you could try changing it (dont ask how, i have no idea).
my phone time is correct.. i didnt by it from my carrier. i got the phone as an early xmas gift =)...

As the title says having trouble sending or receiving texts. I could imagine this could be a number of things so I dont know where to start. I am running dutties software and kaiser tweak... think I tweaked something to stop letting me text?
I installed the O2 SMS Plus program, and for some reason it prevented me from getting texts. Just a thought.
Also, check your radio
Everything seems to be functioning... hmmm. This might be a hard reset issue. Although hopefully not as its a pain to reinstall everything. I turned on sent message notice and I get it so its trying to send em!
I completely hard reset my device to Dutties... still cant send and recieve texts!!!!
Whats your provider? Alot of AT&T people have been having issues recently with the data/messaging plan do you have another phone you can plug your sim card into and test?
If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that you have some corrupted directories on your actual storage card, which is why the hard reset didn't help.
Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350862
for more details. It worked for me

Make sure your SMS message center number is correct, for your provider. Each provider has their own settings. If it's AT&T, you can go to http://wireless.att.com/support.
On that page you can find help for your device and SMS in particular. If you have a different provider, you're on your own.
Wow lot of great ideas here. My first plan of action is to load the new version of Dutty's on to see if that has an effect. I have checked the message number. I hate calling tech support because I always talk to some guy who's been with the company about a week and doesnt even know what the **** a tilt is. Hes like... who makes it. I say HTC. He asks whats that stand for? I say I have no ****ing clue. He says he needs a manager. Im like WTF!
I had the same problem before. I suggest calling your provider and make sure you have messaging turned on. Sounds dumb but i had switch data plan and it took off unlimited text mesaging (new data plan didnt have unlimteid text messaging as a bundle) one day and right after i flashed q-mobile. Thinking it was the rom the whole time it turned out i didnt have texxt messaging turned on.
you know......maybe before reflashing your phone or hard resetting it, maybe you should first pop the sim into another phone and see if you can actually sms or not
to late for that but Ill try that now
Ahhh it is my sim card!!!!!!!! Damnit I lost it alll via hard reset. Should have been more patient, now I gotta call those losers and biatch them out!
Called them up my text message plan somehow fell off my plan. -sigh- Now I lost all my games and apps. Owell I can update to the latest Dutty's!
I've been searching for the last two days I can't seem to solve my problem. I did a rest on my phone because it keep freezing up on me us the stylus on the bottom of the phone. Now I cant send send text messages but I can receive them. I tried sending them to myself but they never come through I tried sending them to others and it says "Your text message cannot be sent." This is my only phone and I only have one sim. I would rather not cook any roms on my phone because it did work before the reset and I don't want to risk messing anything up.What should I do?
give att a call. they can push those settings for you over the air.
I call att they told me they could not pick up any settings because I was not with their carrier the phone is unlocked to t mobile.
Oh cmon throw him a freakn bone. You should have known to call tmobile and not att.

I dont know if this will help you but it did it for me, try intalling connection settings and you should have all your tmobile settings on your phone. on the second post of this thread there is a connection setup file. see if it helps.

I tried calling tmobile they went through everything that they could do but could not help me. Me and my buddy changed phones and it is definitely something with the phone and not the sim card. I cant figure out what is going on the is getting highly irritating. please can somebody help me.
Hey everyone,
I face a SMS sending problem. I'm texting to Australia quite often and I'm (different to my t-mobile button above) with E-Plus. A long time me and my partner down under had no trouble sending/receiving text messages. But lately only half my texts get through.
We had a problem earlier this year when she was with Optus. All of a sudden my messages did not get through anymore. All of them. Then she changed to Vodafone and it seemed to work. But E-Plus (I'm actually with MedionMobile, just using E-Plus network) made their messages cheaper and now I face this problem!
It's really anoying. Now -
when I have such a problem - does it have anything to do with my Radio / Rom installed on the phone? Or is this just a network fault?
Would changing to Vodafone solve this problem since Vodafone Germany and Vodafone Australia are partner networks?
It's just that E-Plus is so much cheaper (1/3 of the price for a SMS!)
Please try to help me!
Is your operator billing you for the txts? If so, you can be sure they're transferred to your operators server correctly and your phone's alright. But you probably won't be able to get a deeper insight into what happens after that- if and where your txts are lost....
Changing networks MIGHT help, but don't count on it.
You might wanna try sending your txts using an internet-based service?! just to check... and, btw, that might be cheaper, too. I remember seeing a tool that allows you to send txts via internet-based services from your xperia using your data connection. i just can't seem to find it right now.
first: thanks for your help!
My operator is billing me for the text messages, yes. So they send it correctly. I even tried out to get a confirmation for sent items, you know? I always get the message that it has been delivered. But then she does not get the message...
I tried out to send messages from two of my class mates and from my mums phone as well as from my dads phone. Their messages all get through...
I think I know what you mean with internet based SMS sending. Innosend is such a service, huh?
But items sent throught that service do not get stored in my SMS store...But I will try it out, I guess. As well as I try a Vodafone SimCard.
I hope there is nothin wrong with my phone...
Out of interest, what phone does your partner have?
Oh, I think you got me there. Long time it was a Sony Ericsson...older one. But she got a new one two weeks ago or so. But I don't think it's her phone because the fault occured on both, her old and her new phone. I'll write it in here as soon as I know...
Ah ok cool. The reason I was asking: When I got my Xperia I soon realised that my gf was only getting around half the texts I was sending. It drove me crazy as nothing seemed to fix it - I got my phone replaced, she got hers replaced, we both got new SIMs. Just like you, the texts were showing up on bills, and O2 could see them going through their message centre, so they could not identify the problem.
Eventually I figured it out, my gf did not receive my messages when they were longer than a single message. Anything more and it simply did not show up on her phone (LG Renoir), but still seemed to send successfully and show up on my bill. I then realised that the same thing happened when sending long texts to my friend (also an LG, but a Viewty). They can both get long messages from other people, just not me, so I think there must be some sort of incompatibility between the Brands/softwares.
Probably of no help to you really, but maybe you send long messages too?
No, it's fine since I experience such a thing on my own now. Thanks for sharing! I'm gonna ask her what kind of phone she uses now. Today I removed the SIM Card from my phone and replaced it. The Xperia did a new setup on my network and afterwards my 2 sent messages came through. Maybe I just had to do that because I flashed a new Rom and later a new Radio without renewing my network options...
As you, I do not have a clue where the problem is...But also takin my mums T-Mobile Sim Card in my phone she got all messages. I believe it's the operator...I keep you guys updated when I have my Vodafone card or if it should work normally now...
Thanks for your help. Always appreciated!
edit:yes, I experienced that longer messages have less chance to get through. Sometimes they are messed up or just the first part (first 160 characters) get through...hmm
I use 1.6 rom for my G2.
But someone send me a message when the phone is off. The time of sms shows the time when the phone is on, not the real time when it was sent.
And the "SMS time fix" does not work for this problem..
Please help...
This problem also exists in 2.1 rom "openECLAIR"
Your simcard it's to old or change the operator
Edit:
ok it s not that,
i belive you say: "the sms come not directly." but i supose your sms comme directly. !?
Just the time is not good. but it s possible it s not the time "sent" but "recive" ^^
Hey guys, I got a problem. I am in a bad covered area (concerning network) and so my sms sending is being stoped over and over again and I sometimes have to resend an SMS 10 times, till it finally reaches its' destination. This kinda drives me crazy, cause often my GF yells at me, because I dont text back (you know the chicks ) In fact I texted back, but it wasnt sent and I didnt notice, because I e.g. was listening to music, or similar stuff. So is there a possibility to auto resend SMS? I heard of some apps, but is there maybe also an option in CM? Or do I need another sms client? I just dont wanna have to click on resend or edit and send all the time.
Thanks for the help in advance
Hmm, sometimes, when I send a SMS and it fails to send it, SMS/MMS app says :
"... It will be resent when you are covered" (Or something like that, I don't have the whole sentence printed in my brain)
But most of the time, I have to resend it...
Anyway, I found this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=998764
"I found that Go SMS Pro did.
I also saw a couple that claimed to automatically resend but I can't remember the names. You should search the market again."
Hope it helps !
EDIT: I know veeeeery well what it is to have girlfriend angry because of that >< Good luck
