Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to send items from my old phone (Sony Ericsson W910i) to my new XDA Stellar but for some reason everytime I try and send anything to my XDA it appears to fail. Is there some simple reason for this or is it something I am doing wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Just one other thing. Is there any way I can disable the XDA Stellar from turning off after two minutes. I notice that if I am signed into Windows Live Messenger it'll disconnect after two minutes of not using the phone causing the connection to fail. Thanks again.
auto recieve incomming beams have to be on for bluetooth transfers being recieved
if you bluetooth is set to be always on your battery life will be rather short
Success. Thanks for the help

When I switch off my XDA IIs by button or SW button in most of the cases the device switches on it self for one more time.
Is there anyone who can help?
Thanks guys!
:?:
I have the same problem, I had a bluetooth headset paired to it, maybe that is it, I only got the XDAIIs today so I have not had much time to watch it but it happened tonight and the XDA mini never does it.
Each time the BT headset is switched on or off and pairs up or releases, when a text message arrives, when you come out of a signal blackspot and reconnect and find you have missed calls etc.
Basically anything that results in a visual change caused the device to switch on.
Very annoying. Don't know the solution.
I share your pain.
Joe
I'm using http://www.trancreative.com/nicestart.aspx to keep the device locked, but it will turn on/off, but now it's locked so i dont delete data when it turns on in my pocket.
No matter what you do, the device will turn on at least once every hour.
I read somewhere that it does this to check the battery status.
I had the same problem once. Please open ActiveSync, switch the device off and see if ActiveSync is trying to connect..
Of course there can be lots of other reasons...
Yes I didn't mention on my post that activesync also seems to be a player in this problem.
If activesync is running, somehow the device syncs at varying intervals from 5 mins-1hr and switches it on to do so.
I used the attached to kill activesync to stop it happening.
Hope it helps.
Joe
I just unchecked the "Use mobile schedule to sync with this PC" setting and the problem was solved.
Though this seems to be a bug in ActiveSync..
Thanks
Works fine, great!
i had this problem on my old rom, and since i upgraded to 1.40, it aint done it since. maybe u need to upgrade.
Good morning everyone!
I am having some problems with my kaiser:- i have recently picked up the wonderful o2 vertigo on pay and go at £10 a month and have been using this as an alternative to SMS however with that has come several problems and I was wondering if any of you may be able to help me.
Problem 1:
GPRS/3G doesn't disconnect like I have specified in the Email settings which leaves me constantly connected, not only cooking my leg but it leaves my phone at a maximum battery life of about 3 hours because of it.
Problem 2:
Due to constant GPRS connection I have become the BANE of anyone who happens to have speakers, due to the EMI - is there a way around this?
I am using GMail to pick up my mail, if that effects any suggestions like push etc.
Hope you can help
Regards,
Mike
Install software below & adjust its settings for disconnecting GPRS.
I use it for Gmail via Pocket Outlook & it works fine.

I have a tilt and recently it started just shutting down when I had been on a call for about 4 minutes or when I was looking around on the internet for about 4 minutes. This was a std. tilt not flashed with HTC home installed. I hard reset it and hoped that would fix the problem, but it never did. So finally I decded to flash the ROM and see if that may make it better. alas it did not. I have tried everything I know, but everytime I get online or on the phone it just shuts off. Then it takes a few times before it will ever come back on normally. Does anyone know what is going on or what I can try to fix the problem. It seems as though my data is limited and cuts off after a certain point. I would really appreciate anyones help
Anyone have anything? It also cuts off whenever I connect to Facebook app. It tells me to check my internet conection
non of my wm phones ever had that issue
read up on it on google once it's it's an operator end hardware thing
not much you can do if the hardware they use don't support it
I was having the same issue with my tilt
I was having the exact same issue.

I just solve the problem replacing the battery.
I got one of this

and it has been working like a champ.
I just bought this, having big problems with connection dropped/ not able to re-connect...
Does anyone have live view working with the GT?
I received my SELiveView on Saturday, charged it up followed the instruction to connect it to my GTab. Then I installed the new firmware as recommended by Sony this is a fantastic device, works like a dream.
Hmm..... Followed a tip i found on xda, installed minfreeemanger changed settings to medium and secondary service to 6. This seems to help with the dropped connectionn issue alittellbit... Still looses connection from time to time... The SE liveview is very nice when connection stayes up....
I tested the SELiveView today and the only time it dropped connection was when I was out of range.
I found a workaround that works OK, I installed automateit from market and added a rule that if liveview is disconnected liveview application is launched.... seems to work OK... ill report back after testing tomorrow....
Hmm.. seems like the workaround to disable the Bluetooth pbap service really helps with connection....
I just renamed /system/app/BluetoothPbap.apk to BluetoothPbap.apk.bak...
This is the Bluetooth sharing service, so if it breaks something for you ....don't do it!

Hmm...i don know... i would not expect it... but this is why i recommend you to just rename the file... or in your case you should just kill the service and try your parrot.....

thanks. unfortunately i lost my XE it jumped out of the clip while i was driving stupid i know. i hoep its still in my car. thanks anyways
Ever since I updated to the latest update which is 4.4.2 as of now, my built in Bluetooth for my car keeps disconnecting and connecting to my phone.
I've tried various resets and reconfiguring the profiles and connecting the Bluetooth and still nothing. It always disconnects and connects nonstop every minute.
Before this it wouldn't do that. It would connect without a problem and stay connected with no issues.
Anyone know what the deal is? I've asked HTC but like always their customer service doesn't know crap about anything.

Also it's a 2013 Mercedes. I doubt the system is outdated.

Just submit a technical support email via the HTC website. I've already sent one for an NFC issue not being able to send webpages and URLs to other devices. The more issues you report, the faster they can get to resolving them.

Are you using completely stock? I know Bluetooth is one of those things that the custom ROMs have a bit more issues with, and I recall seeing that some of the kernels required updates for Bluetooth functionality.
Ive tried everything but rooting and going custom again. Don't think that will solve it. It doesn't stay connected and no calls can be made or received. I've seen it was an issue with nexus phones with the same update.

You've stated that you tried everything, but can you see if you can connect only as an audio device and not Handsfree or Messaging? While not ideal, it helps rule out some potential points of failure.
It's always connected as hands-free.

You're not alone. Since upgrading to 4.4.2 on a bone stock HTC One, I have had the same disconnect issues or better described, it constantly pairs and unpairs, and my contacts will now longer load, I have a 2012 BMW 328i with iDrive. I tried the latest firmware update for my iDrive, but the problems persist. A Google search shows scores of Nexus users who have upgraded to Kit Kat and have lost their bluetooth because of the exact same issues. However, I'm not seeing very many HTC One owners running 4.4.2 with Bluetooth connectivity issues under 4.4.2. I've counted only 5 thus far - you, me, and 3 others.
My wife's Galaxy Note 3 connects to my car with no issues, I've been looking , but have yet to found a solution.
I briefly had a problem connecting to my car stereo after 4.4.2, but the problem was that it would no longer auto connect. I found out that in 4.4 now shutting of Bluetooth on my phone when not in use prevents it from auto connecting to the stereo when I turn it back on, so I just leave it on all the time and it works well.
All stock btw
For whatever it's worth...

Yeah I've tried everything but no dice, sent various tech problems to HTC. Let's hope they see it and send out a patch 6 months from now

I understand that Handsfree is the goal. If you disable Handsfree on your phone, and attempt to connect as only an audio device, is it successful?
Just trying to help debug things. The only Mercedes that I can use as a reference is an older model. I have successfully used my 4.4.2 phone with several vehicles, so I'd like to get a handle on where the problem is to help offer a solution.
I may have fixed my problems - I've had bluetooth working in my car (2012 BMW I-Drive Nav) for the past 2 days, My HTC One with 4.4.2 OTA pairs as soon as I start my car, my contact list loads up within 3 minutes, my inbound and outbound call history appears, and my emails are copied to my car for voice translation.
i think the problem was duplicate google contacts. For some reason, I had 2-3 duplicates of all my goggle contacts on my cellphone, all probably caused by failed sync sessions. I looked at my linked contacts setting under the contact list menu and manually deleted 344 duplicate google entries from my cell phone. I took the phone back to my car, started it up, and to my surprise, the contact list loaded up quickly.
Previously, my bluetooth would pair with my car, but would unpair after 5 minutes while trying to download my contacts. It would disconnect after 1 minutes while in a call but also while trying to download my contacts. Now that it's able to download my smaller contact list successfully, it stays paired and I have not had any disconnects while in conversation.
Hopefully, it stays fixed. If it doesn't, then my next step is to delete my Facebook and Linked In contacts which I really don't need. Give this a try. Perhaps it will work for you as it did for me.

Million thanks! It finally works . I never thought the contacts would be the issue, I cleaned up my contacts and removed Facebook sync and after a few hours it's been connected without any issues. Thanks!

I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm on my 3rd day with a reduced contact list and so far, no new issues. Now all I need to do is find an app that does a better job of managing my contact list. HTC Sense makes it very easy to add and accumulate in my contact list, but cleaning it it out and keeping it clean is a painstaking process.
Glad that fixed it!
crap! this solution also worked on my galaxy note 2. :good:
