is it just me or does contacts not scroll well. it seems like when your selecting a city for weather or a program when you hit all programs it scrolls great. Is there a tweak or hack or just another program that has a more user friendly interfacefor contacts?
I have this, which is very good

If you like you can change the softkey "All Contacts" to run another aplication.
So you can run for example icontacts. For do this you need to use this programm but is abit difficult if you dont know many things
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407777
Most People change ths softkey "phone" to run "icontact". This can be done easely by many tweaking programs like "advanced configurations" and other programs .
I downloaded that program but contacts is not an option

I cant remember the name of this great program that replaces the start menu with a much better one. It gives you the option to close running programs right there, either individually or all of em. Also it has tabs for all your programs and settings. Whats this thing called? It was in Dutty's V2 but not in v4!
QuickMenu 2.7, it's great!
Thats it! Could not remember that name!!!
I'm sorry if this has already been asked: when you scroll to the right-most tab of TF3D, then press the left softkey for "All Programs," you are presented with an Iphone looking scroll list of programs. I've just installed a program (moBlue) that is not appearing in this list for some reason. If I go to Programs from the Start menu, it's there.
Does anyone know what file/folder in WinMo has the apps that are shown in that scrolling list? If I can find that, I'll just add it manually.
Check on bottom of that list...sometimes the program is located on bottom of list. i don't know why

You're right! Thanks Whitecell.
I wonder why that is? It doesn't make sense. I wonder if there is a hack or regedit to re-order them. I definitely prefer alphabetical order!
Programs starting with a lowercase letter will be at the bottom of the list, after all programs starting with an uppercase letter.
This is the case for "moBlue".
Ahh I see. So it seems then all I have to do is change the filename?

Yes, find the shortcut in the Start Menu directory (\Windows\Start Menu\Programs) and rename it. Make sure the first letter is uppercase. That will do it.
Yep, that did it! Thanks Snark!
Is there a good iPhone-like contact app out there that is smoothing that the built in one?
I know there have been some in the past like iContact and PocketCM, do these work good on the Fuze (TP)?
Is there a better one?
iContacts don't work quite well yet with Raphael devices as it require advance graphics that VGA screen can't handle very good.
You should try O3Touch that is a very nice dailer that has realy cool way to find contacs.
www.O3Touch.com
icontact burt edition seems to work better than supbro's version...while its not as smooth as it is on qvga...its acceptable
u just have to change the qvga skin to a vga skin
iContact burt 6.45 works flawless just load a VGA skin.
Is there a way to when you choose "all people" in TF3D that it goes to iContacts?
@supermiah
... all people ...

AFAIK some rather complicated reg hack to do this. Why don't you assign it to the left or right softkey via reg edit
Search for LSK or RSK - you'll figure out how it works.

You can use a program called SSMaPa to replace the standard contacts program called by TF3D with any other .exe you want. It can also replace calendar, mail, camera, etc... It's not real user friendly, but you shouldn't have too much trouble with it. Just make sure you disable touchflo when you're changing the settings. It's not a big deal if you forget, but you'll get an ugly looking error and have to do it all over again.
Making Contacts better
I solved the problem with contacts by just simply making the horizontal scroll bar wider so it can be used with fingers If not mistaken the valu e was something like 60 I guess helps also in programs list to scroll down without accidentaly selecting a program or as in contacts list calling someone you just do not want to . Only slight drawback is that in last call list the time gets slightly behind the scroll bar and in appointments also the time miute digits are halfway behind the scroll bar otherwise just fine
***edit 20/12/08*** As BlockbusterF writes few posts below there is a simpler solution than mine. I checked it myself and is working, so i suggest try his method and not mine. My method has some differences. It opens calendar in month view even if you have it minimized in other view eg day view.
For everyone who wants to use the more difficult method of mine this is it:***
After i have take many things from this site ,it is time to give something back!
I managed to make the calendar to open in month view, and not the default day view. I noticed that many others are trying to do this.
This is how i did it. I write a simple (one line) program in basic for ppc, which runs the calendar to month view. You can download ti here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/175093797/monthvew.exe
Is is only 36 KB. Now put it in any folder you want (even in internal storage)
Try to run it. You will see that calendar will appear but in month view. Even if you have already calendar running in the background on day view, by running monthvew.exe it will go to screen to month view.
So the only problem now is to change the link to manila so when you press the button of calendar on screen, not to run calendar.exe, but to run my program monthview.exe (Which will run calendar.exe again but in month view) So the final result will be by pressing "calendar" on manila to have again runing calendar but in month view this time. You can do this by SSMaPa . If you dont know the program read here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407777
Be sure that you know how to use it, and you dont making anything wrong with this program (You can try to change the button of calendar to run another .exe to see that you have learn to use ssmapa, and after to make it run monthview.exe)
After all perhaps you will see that every time you press calendar ,it opens in day view and immediately changes to month view. If this happens it is because you have it opens by its settings to day view. Go to the calendar-- menu-tools- and from the list there set "open in month view"
Now everything will work ok and the calendar will opens to month view at once ..
Thanks for this...
finally
Thanks for your work!
But I have to say that it's already no problem to start the calendar in month view.
Just remove the "$" under parameters with SSMaPA and select "start in monthview" or something like that under extras -> options in calendar and thats all.

I didnt know this. If you do a search in the forum, you will see that me and many others was searching for this, and noone give a solution .Also in all the Greek forums (I am Greek..) many searching and all writes that there is no solution . If what you write is working, forget my post , as it is simpler .
Very cool ;-)

Wow this is great. It's amazing how small of a quirk can be so annoying.
Can you please tell me where to find these parameters/extras in order to remove the "$".
Can't seem to find this.
Thanks so much!
Ehm... I have done the same by setting it under Menu-Extra- Options- start in month view
Yes, but this only work if you start your calendar out of the startmenu for example.
Wenn you click on calendar in manila it normaly always start in agenda mode.
So you have to use SSMaPa to tweak your manila.exe.

Download SSmapa from the link i give , save it in a folder in your mobile, run it.
In the first page check the box "extended init" and press "init". in the messegebox with a question press "no". Now you will see a list of aplications.
Press the first one "calendar.exe"
You will see a box "Arguments" with the value "$".
Delete the $
check the box "patch anabled and "press save.
Now go to the next page "deploy" and press "deploy patch". Restart manila.
Thanks sosimple for keeping so simple! Took me a little time finding that SSmapa but after that, it was so simple.
THanks sosimple for making this process so simple.
thanks

Hey lads I'm running dutty's rom 3.6b and when you click the calendar tab on the manilla home screen it'll bring you straight to month view or whatever you happen to have chosen in the Calendar options. I believe its a feature of the newer versions of manilla. Before dutty 3.6b I was using a stock ROM and it always used to go to the day view.
Cooked ROMs are lovely.
Now you can do this, even in the original rom, with the trick i write ..
which manila file is ssmapa patching when you delete the $ sign from it? I would like to just overwrite the patched version after hard reset through autoconfig instead of running the program.
Im trying to reset this i want my dial button to open the original phone app ... instead of the aosp .... i would also like to do the same with the contacts plz help ... i understand i goto manage apps but which one after???
in manage apps, I think you'd look for "dialer" or something with the word "dialer" in it, open that, and click "clear defaults". Then, the next time you try to use the dialer, it should give you a couple of options of which to use.
Same thing goes for contacts, should be something in there with the name "contacts" or something along those lines
