Msn issue.... no connection...

Hi !!

I am enjoying my Kaiser very much, but still got some problems....
Any advice is always welcome !
When I first used my TyTn II, after charging, I logged on to MSN with no problems. Haven't used MSN since....
I don't think the Vodafone signal is so good where I live but I can usually connect to the Internet using Explorer or Opera, but I can't seem to make MSN connect.
I was in the city centre today where the signal should be strong but MSN still would not connect.
It does not give an error message, just that I might be in an "area with bad reception".
Vodafone tell me my services are all OK for my phone...
If I use WiFi at home, I still cannot connect MSN using WiFi
I am not sure where to begin to diagnose the problem with MSN. I will start searching now........ but any advice is appreciated...
edit... I am wondering whether to unistall MSN and re-install

are you using windows live messenger or are you using OZIM or another IM program?
I know with OZIM, since it uses text it doesn't connect when you are on wifi.

I was using the MSN thatis built into the ROM!!

I know you are in UK and things are different but the IM program built into the rom for me was OZIM which uses texting. I would suggest to go the sticky of useful cabs and download Windows Live, thats has Live Messenger Built into it.

I know that some olders versions of CE-stars could lead to malfunctioning of live messenger=/ so even if you aren't azn if you install language support for other languages it might still screw things up

My Kaiser has Windows live and MSN, but not working..
I am Irish, but I have Japanese display and input installed on my Kaiser...
I guess I could remove them and see if my MSN works again..!!
Then if it does not work, install the newest cab for Windows Live and MSN..

removing Japanese fonts and input did not resolve the problem....
I really do not understand why my MSN does not connect... when Agile Messenger does...
edit - I did a hard reset and installed everything from scratch, checking one by one, if MSN worked.
It stopped working after the installing of Japanese dispaly and input software...

Windows Live Messenger on WM6?

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, believe I've done a lot of search before asking =/
anyway here it goes:
After flashing the ROM posted in the sticky "Herald MODDing for newbs" I can't find my MSN messenger anywhere. Now I can only use the web version! Where can I get it back? Is a .cab or something out there?
Oh, and, I can't figure out how to use touchflo as well. I tried wiping the screen from bottom to top a LOT times. Nothing happened. Everything else worked, tho, like picture viewer or finger-scrolling.

Here is a zip wich includes the Windows Live Messenger installation CAB file.
Just install it on your device and your done. The settings you need to work through are very easy.

Installation completed with no problem. But..
It doesn't matter whether I'm on wi-fi or GPRS, when I try to sign in it says "Windows Live was unable to establish an Internet Connection." and blah blah blah. Asking me to check my connection settings. Well, IE worked fine. I can surf. So what's going on?

never mind. I googled aggressively and found that it was an older version of software conflicting with Windows Live Mobile. It was called CE Star. The newest version does not have the connection problem.

I'm glad that you were able to resolve your issue with the Windows Live Mesanger but unfortunately im unable too. I am able to connect via WiFi but im not able to connect GPRS, are you able to connect w/o WiFi? If so, do you have a .cab file or a website that you can direct me too. Any help on this issue would be great. Thanx

After uninstall ce-star, I had same problem:
I setup both wi-fi and bluetooth dialup through my cellphone. Even when wi-fi is connected, windows live insist on dialing through bluetooth. And the worst of it, it will keep on dialing until soft reset and nothing else can stop it.
Any idea?

Latest Windows Live and Search CAB - Updated 5/15/08 - Live Search 3.0

I couldn't find a CAB that would install all the latest versions of the Windows Live apps (Messenger, Search, and Hotmail), so I made my own.
UPDATE 5/14/08 - Latest versions of all Live programs, and bundled installers here:

Jesus...is MS EVER going to update the Live search...i've been using the same one forever now w/ no updates at all...

hhaha, well i'll be damned. they actually update it the day after i gripe about it being a "2007" version for so long. they added some cool new stuff, like their "wikipedia" search under collections, viewing lat and long, and you can enable full screen now...i wonder what google is going to do when they update theirs.

Yeah I like Windows Live Search (Mobile). Seriously if you live in the US or UK, it beats the **** out of google maps. New version looks good, glad that they're working on updates. Anyone have any luck with the Flickr: Latest Photos?

I have a at&t tilt and I am having problems with live search recognizing my gps on com4. Any ideas why?

Yep sure do, start>settings>system>external gps.
now
gps programs port--com4
click hardware
baud rade--4800
click access
make sure box is checked.

Does anyone know if the latest version of Windows Messenger has offline IMs and mobile IMs? For example, can you leave an offline message to someone. Or, if someone has messenger set up to recieve their IMs on their phone, can you send an IM to them via Windows Messenger on your phone. Both of these, you can't currently do.

Can I simply install your newest cab over the version that is currently on my TyTnII? I see no option to remove the old version from the programs so must be ok?

Is anyone else finding a drastic reduction in battery life after installing windows live search? Mine has gone down by about 2/3. I cant get more then a day out of a fully charged battery now!
I think it has something to do with me always being connected to HSDPA/3G? Dont spose anyone has any advice?

If you have a data connection open all day, especially on HSDPA/3G, then you're definitely going to suffer with battery life. Disconnect your data connection if you're not using or use a tool such as Schap's Advanced Config to auto disconnect data.

No Windows Live

Hi,
today I got my MDA compact Iv from T-Mobile, which is basically the HTC Touch Diamond.
I was so excited about this new phone and it's new features.
But I missed the Windows Live Messenger, which I need.
So far I used the MDA compact I, which got the old MSN Messenger.
I guess T-Mobile deleted it. Even with Hard reset and reset befor T-Mobile installs it's fancy software there were no Messenger.
Can you help me install it?

try to setup in email settings a windows_live account first...

it will have been taken out of the ROM.
you can either install a cook rom with it in, or try and find a live messenger cab... i'm sure there is one..

scroll down about 3 roms (its one of the lite ones and there is a link for extra applications)
download that rar file and it will have messenger in it. and it should work fine.

this is the first messenger running on my device. Alle the cabs from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334621 didn't work.
The messenger starts not, but I can't log in.
I still can't creat a live mail account. When I click sign in messenger says, that there is a connectivity problem, even if a connection is open.
I hate T-Mobile for deleting it!

Yahoo Go! on Diamond not working...

Has anyone been able to install Yahoo Go! 3 beta on their Diamond?
When I install the cab the text keeps over-writting itself (perhaps I don't have the the correct cab for Diamond??) Ican sort off "fudge" it but it still bounces me out and shuts down...very frustrating
Anyway, if someone has a cab that works correctly I would appreciate a share...

I have the same problem.
Yahoo go 3 a no go for me.

Me too, slow and weird overwriting text. Gave up with them and support didn't want to know.

Same problem here; its a pity because Yahoo! Go is such a good package. Hope Yahoo or HTC will do something about it soon.

I will routinely keep downloading the latest CAB's (if I can find 'em) and trying installs....they're bound to get it right somtime......aren't they?!?!?

Java ME Issue?

I've the same problem on my O2 XDA Diamond, too.
IMHO it's not a problem of Yahoo Go! but the Java ME on the Diamond.
Has anybody tried to use any other Java ME JRE on the Diamond?

Actually it is not the JRE. The one supplied with the diamond is Sun Certified so should be allright.
The problem is the Yahoo Go! application which uses a .net java-hack dll thingie. This dll is in effect a midlet wrapper for .net and simply is not working very well.
In other words: it is (as per usual) a Microsoft problem.

anyone get this to work? its as if its the wrong size? it just doesnt work right after instasll

Because Yahoo Go! is still not supported for our HTC Diamond as yet.

Even i had the same problem after installing new ROM upgrade. but after uninstalling it completely from my HTC Diamond (even remove folder from /program files/yahoo go) I again downloaded it from yahoo website and installed. Now its working properly.
Error is because we uninstall program but system folder is not deleted.
Try this. May ur problem get solved.
