Hello,
After cooking my own custom rom, and flashing it using USPL, the herald does not boot.
I can only recover the phone by getting the bootloader and flashing an original ROM.
I tried to extract and flash the OEM rom to test, and this rom does not boot as well.
What am I doing wrong in order to get the Herald not booting?
Thanks,
StefanSki
To be more precise, I extraced the OS.nb from the original HTC NBH file, and I just rebuild a NBH with HTC Rom Tool.
Then I flashed is using the USPL tool. Flashing went to the end successfully but then the device shows only a black screen.
I tried doing a hard reset, and then the device stop on the HTC logo screen.
Can someone explain how it does not boot?
I can't explain it to you, but I had the same problem. I can't imagine why, but I have dumped the complete ROM and XIP and then build a new OS.bin and used HTC ROM Tool with this to create a nbh.

Hello again, I just flashed a radio from Haykuro's blog and now my android screen loops. Is it possible to send files to your sdcard using fastboot or an abd command?
..
just realized i have a radio file on my sd, how do i rename it using adb
Stuck at flashing android
Recently I flashed one of the radio files from Haykuro's page. It was the ota_radio file. Now when I boot my phone, it loops at the second android splash. I've pushed the older radio file and a new update.zip file for the system, etc. Still no luck. I need help.
I believe the new radio is for ADP phones isn't it..? Did you guys make nandroid backups? I assume not. So all you can do it wipe the phone, and reinstall.
if u do an alt w of ur phone is should start back up
Hey, y'all. Quick question, with all the details I can remember. It started when I was trying to run fastboot and adb together so I could flash a new boot splash image. I was able to run each individually, but not together. So I updated all my windows USB drivers with the latest ones for the build...still wouldn't work. Then I booted into fastboot and realized that the SPL version was the HSPL10.95.3000. So I decided to go and follow the instructions for updating to the Haykuro SPL. I flashed the radio to the new version FIRST, and THEN flashed the SPL. Now I can boot into the recovery mode, or into the fastboot mode, but my G1 is stuck at the G1 splashscreen and won't progress further into the actual operating system.
Other details:
PVT 32B
ROM: Cyan 4.2.7.1
Previous SPL: HSPL10.95.3000
New SPL: HBOOT1.33.2005
Radio: 2.22.19.26I
If any other details are necessary, don't hesitate to ask, I'll get back to you ASAP (I really need my phone working!)
Flashing the spl clears the startup files per-se.
Just flash a rom, case closed.
I tried that, reflashing the Cyan 4.2.7.1 ROM, same result. It's still producing the "G1" loop.
You lost root then, start over with the nbh file.
That's the conclusion I just came to, myself. Just reflashed with the RC29 NBH. What things do I need to redo now? Just follow the original rooting process?
Can i flash the new radio(2.22.27.08) and spl(1.33.0013d) via the ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7 recovery(or RA 1.7.0)??
I have the files downloaded from a mytouch 3g thread and want to know if i can flash them over the recovery?it says there they are flashable but can i flash them with an HTC Dream??
wipe-flash radio-wipe-flash spl-wipe-flash rom
or will i brick my device??
Or can someone send me a german introduction how to set up fastboot on windows xp??i dont get the english one
Phone: HTC Dream (rooted)
ROM: COS-DS 03042011 2.3.3 Gingerbread
Radio: 2.22.23.02
Spl: 1.33.2005
sdcard: 2gb ; ext/3
You can flash spl and radio using recovery, but I would *not* suggest you to do so, because the risk of bricking your phone is much higher, than flashing by fastboot.
To setup a fastboot environment on XP you can try to have a look at www.android-hilfe.de There are many people using a windows environment and I suppose they have a setup instruction in German, too.
I agree. To flash it via Fastboot safer. First flash Bootloader and reboot your phone, then flash new radio and reboot phone again.
thanks for reply!i will try it now with fastboot!if it wont work i try it via recovery
Helo
I have a question. I flashed via fastboot the radio(2.22.27.08) and spl(1.33.0013d) and i have a problem with the batery. I want to put back the old radio and spl and the problem is that i cannot flash it via fastboot the mesage is:
failedremote:signature verify fail)
Somebody some ideas
Pls read the OP of ezTerry's 2708-thread (a link can be found in my signature). But I doubt, that the radio is the reason for your battery problems.
Sent from my Gingerbread on Dream using XDA App
Agreed with AndDiSa. It also depending on what ROM you use and the apps that you have on your phone.
I made the change of radio and spl like in the link in the signature and it was ok(Radio: 2.22.27.08, SPL: 1.33.0013d), the flashing was working. The rom is update-cm-6.1.0-RC1-DS-2708port_S.zip because the update-cm-6.1.0-DS-2708port_S.zip is entering in boot loop.
Like you sad that this is probably a radio image problem that's why i tried to flash the old image back with the spl and i had that error message. Also I tried to change my splash image via fastboot(to flash it) and the result is the same
Mine is also bootlooping on COS-DS rom with this radio/hboot combo...probably just a radio error or something
Hi,
First post, so if I am out of line, I will take whatever heat you decide I deserve.
Background:
I am trying to get a newerish version of Android onto a Rogers Dream with radio 3.22.26.17 using the guides found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Rooting_HTC_Branded_EBI1_Dreams
Problem:
It all went very well until part D, step 4. I can boot into recovery, and can choose the "Flash zip from SD Card", and can see the zip file (1_33_2005_spl.zip), Now what? I have tried to reboot, but it doesn't seem to flash the 1_33_2005_spl.zip file. Is there a key combination that I need to press to have the file flash into the internal memory of the device? I have looked onto the recovery screen, and don't see any command key combination to have it flash. When I run the subseqent shell reboot bootloader command, the screen shows S-ON, HBOOT: 1.33.0010 RADIO: 3.22.26.17. I assume that this means that the 1_33_2005_spl.zip file has not been flashed.
Question:
How do I flash the 1_33_2005_spl.zip file into memory in the recovery mode? Or, what is the key combination to flash the 1_33_2005_spl.zip file into internal flash?

I don't have a Rogers EBI1, so I'll have to assume that this guide is already giving the safest method to update the SPL with their rooting method. (Flashing SPL or Radio from Recovery is a bit dangerous, see this thread on why.)
That said, it sounds like the part about "3. Choose 1_33_2005_spl.zip" you are missing is to press the trackball to select the file to install. After flashing the SPL, don't do any other task except reboot, exactly as it says. Once you have the Engineering SPL, it is safer to flash further SPL or Radio updates from fastboot mode.
Thanks, that did it. The guide doesn't really specify how to select and execute stuff, and not having any other devices with either RA recovery, or a trackball, it sort of confused me.
I now have root, and I have the 1.33.2005 SPL installed. I have tried installing some ROMs, but have not settled on anything yet. I'm sort of tending towards Ginger Yoshi 1.4, if I can ever get the 1.33.2010 SPL located (its required to install Ginger Yoshi 1.4). At the very least though, I know how to install .zip files from recovery, now.

Chances are you were searching for Dream SPLs to find 2010.
Here is the Magic SPL list, which also work on the Dream. The special 1.33.0013d SPL for extra memory is over here, if yoshi can use it.
For anyone else changing the SPL, I'd recommend reading (important enough to link to it again): CONFIRMED!! BRICKS: Radio and SPL + New SAFETY theory.
It is generally considered safer to flash the hboot (SPL) partition only from fastboot mode whenever possible, and only from recovery if you have a locked (i.e., "SHIP") SPL while rooting.
Hey guys,
I've got a problem with my HTC One. I tried to flash my branded ROM from Swisscom in order to replace it with a stock HTC One ROM. Therefore I unlocked the bootloader and installed the newest TWRP. Before that I copied a stock ROM (zip file) into the folder "/sdcard/download". After that I whiped my phone in order to install the stock ROM. By whiping my phone however I am unable start my branded OS and I am also unable to install the new stock ROM since it isn't recognized by the TWRP (or maybe it doesn't exist anymore?). I can also see the directory tree with TWRP but no files are shown.
Now I am stuck, since I only come to the TWRP. Via ADB I can't put any files (for example the stock ROM) on my phone, as the device isn't listed or recognized on my computer. ADB sideloading therefore also doesn't work. With Fastboot my device is recognized but I also can't transfer any files to it. When I try to install the stock ROM with the command "update" it tells me that the files "android.txt" and "android-product.txt" etc. are missing.
What can I do at this point? Do I have to compile my own kernel? Would it help if I would flash a new boot.img? Is RUU an option?
I would appreciate any kind of help I could get from you guys. :highfive:
Matthias.
