I can't get the message sent sound to go away, no matter what i did. It used to be gone, but then i installed some stupid Text Message program and uninstalled it, and the message came back along with the noise. Avanced config says its disabled, and i tryed enabling it and disabling it again, but it still wont go away. What else can i do?

I have been using my Tilt for a few months now with AT&T and have had very few problems. I have flashed it and tweaked it to my likings, however the other day I came upon a very weird problem. I was sent a text message by a friend but the message does not respond to any commands (delete, move, mark as read, etc) or allow me to view it. So now i have a text message which is new and unread and it is very annoying. I have pulled the battery, re-flashed it, etc without any luck.
Does anyone have any idea if this message is somehow being stored on my phone in a way i can get rid of it? Thanks for your help
Does anyone get like a glitch kinda thing with their sms when they are receiving them. ...Sometimes I will receive sms messages with no problems what so ever and i will receive them right away. Other times, It will be hours after they were sent and I will receive them. Or I will not receive them until the next time I go and open my sms inbox when im planning to send another, all of a sudden I just receive a new msg, hours late.
Any ideas?
its usually just your gsm service, my carrier is on-time but the time-stamps on the message is sometimes wrong.
maybe sometimes, but other times ...for example, I may be having a conversation at night, then fall asleep. The next morning, when im going to send a new sms message, i open the sms message window and a new text arrives with the time stamp from the night before, and i know that this new message was not just sent now because the person who sent it is still asleep
bump.......
yea its the network.
or u just got a really crappy sim card.
Yeah, I get that. It's probably a minor software glitch. I've had people call me complaining I didn't respond to a message and lo and behold, when I open messages to prove them hideously wrong, the 'message recieved' tone beeps several times and "[X] new text messages" pops up at the bottom of the screen.
Still not figured out how to set the phone up to do this (i.e. whether you minimise or hide the messaging app, whether you open a new app first then go back to today screen, etc..)
Still, only rarely happens. And at other times when recieving texts I could swear the phone doesn't beep... just conspirationally increments the new message counter and keeps silent. I pick up the phone after it's been sat next to me and it says I have several new messages.
Same thing happens to me, i've researched it for days and cant find a fix. I'm dreading calling ATT because they are usually of no help, but I'm gonna put my pants on and call them in a few minutes.
So a few weeks ago while traveling, my phone freaked out in the airport. Now the phone keeps saying I have 1 new text message. When I goto the text messages section, there is nothing there.
I tried clearing all messages out (sent, deleted and inbox), did not work. I tried resetting the device. That did not work.
So I am stuck of what to do. Any suggestions?
anyone??? I have never seen anything like it before.
I suggest you use the search function of this glorious website.

I was texting all day yesterday and over night i can no longer send any texts even with full strength,
The weird thing is it say "text message cannot be sent" then anotherr window pops up with "warning call barring now enabled"
This happens everytime i try and send a text regarless of signal strength,
any ideas? =]
Many Thanks,
I am having the exact same problem now - did you solve it somehow?
Has anybody got an idea?
Has anyone dealt with this before?
I did a factory reset in the phone (not in the recovery mode). I do not know if that caused the problem but I think it is because I uninstalled facebook home.
The phone boots up fine but after I set it up, it goes straight to this message and I cannot get into the phone. The message pop ups, no way around it. People can call me and I can answer on the lockscreen.
Since I cannot turn the usb debugging mode on, I do not know what to do.
edit: I do not know how to explain it but I managed to get into the phone, had to sign into my google account and install facebook home and then disabled it. Phone is back working now.
I had a voicemail that I could access in the lockscreen and that got me into the phone and pass the facebook oobe message thing. I have no idea what happened though.
Yeah, I've had this. Have to wait till after initial setup and change the default launcher but after that it's safe to remove home.apk, fbandroid.apk, and fboobe.apk.
