Sat nav - HTC Wings

Is there any sat nav software for the wings that can be used with a blue tooth gps receiver?
Thanks

Route 66, tomtom mobile 5 (outdated), sygic mcguider (my personal choice) and probably some other ones, like iGo.

@spone1
I do use CoPilot with my Wings, but with my BlueAngel I use iGo8 but I thought it only worked with touchscreen??? How did you do that iGo and the Wings?

How to install a gps software

my att tilt hastelenav installed or preinstalled, is there anyway if tom tom would work legit version or non? this is my frist htc so total noob at this at the moment any feed back would be nice
You can use multiple navigation programs on your device without a conflict. I can open google maps, microsoft live, and tomtom all at once and they will all use the gps receiver to locate my position.
I didn't know you could have multiple softwares reading the GPS hardware off the same port.... are you sure?
yes that's sure, wm6 can manage this.
at wm5 you need a program like gpsproxy to divide the com ports.
its true... i'm using iGo 2006 Plus, TomTom, Garmin XT and Navigon on my Kaiser (and my Touch).

Your fav gps prog?

what is yours? i was using destinator when i was in greece as tom tom didnt have the greek map.
what about google navigator? or should i stick with google maps ?
thanks in advance
what i didnt like about destinator...it was slow on picking up the gps signal, and i was running gps test first to get the signal, then destinator

ah yes visualgpsce, no maps, but great program for various info
I'd have to say TOMTOM all the way. I prefer it...
GPS Test, TomTom
GPSTuner for geocaching (now with realtime map download).
Tomtom for road.
and what about iGo my way
Just IMO
iGo looks nice but TomTom is better to operate
tomtom 6 & iGO (for eastern europe)
Tomtom by far in my opinion, however I do have a new favorite GPS program, not for navigation though.
It's called navizon, if you haven't heard of it check it out at navizon.com
it's similar to google maps, but the real use of this program in my opinion is that they pay for location information collected about wifi ap's and cell toweres.
What I do it start it up, then start up tomtom, so navizon runs in the background, in a week I made $40.
They also have a pretty good referral program, so if you do like it, I would appreciate it if you would use my number when signing up.
The program if free to use for this purpose by the way, so there is no catch
Sorry for sounding spammy, but I really do think this program is cool and I really did make $40 in a week.
Here's my referral number if you are so inclined: 5D56565E5A56
or a direct link to the sign up page:

but tomtom has weak maps for Slovakia
tomtom for turn-by-turn directions, windows live search for proximity searches, I need to try the geocaching app gpstuner.
Mapkings
I m using MAPKINGS
And i think its quite good for Malaysian user.
iGuidance 4.0
I prefer iGuidance 4.0 over TomTom. I find that the user interface is easier to use.
i like TrackMe for tracking, TomTom is best in usability but Garmin is also nice, but expensive
So many apps out there...
TrackMe for well tracking. What an excellent program!
Noni GPS Plot for when I just want to be a geek and look at satelite reception / have a GPS Speedo in the car.
MemoryMap, for its ability to read OS Maps (thats similar to Topo maps for the US members). Great for off-roading.
Google / Pocket Streets when I'm in an unknown area. Especially Google, gotta love that integration!
I did use TomTom years ago when it was v.2. It was good for Sat-Nav, then I got a real Garmin Sat-Nav and found TomTom was relegated to the cupboard. I have no need to change it since it meets my needs (don't think the Kaiser would like being used on a Motorcycle, least not in the open where I could see the screen...)
navizon group - ATT Tilt
navizon is cool. just made a public group so we can see each other (ATT Tilt)
Are you guys that are using TomTom using the $149 software available on their corporate website?
Garmin XT - Honestly, it dominates over TomTom.
Nudar
Nudar is by far better than TomTom or Garmin XT. You guys should all check it out:

Satnav alternatives to Tomtom6

Hi,
What other satnav applications exist for WM6 ?
I know of Memory Map which is good for on foot.
I juust wondered whether Navman etc have PocketPC versions.
...or indeed if there are conversions/emulators etc
- Destinator 7
- Navigon Mobile Navigator 6
- Garmin Mobile XT
- iGo 2006+
- MioMap 3.3
- Route 66 Navigate 7
- Smart2Go 4
- Medion GoPal 3.0 AE
etc.
Sascha
...do any of the above stand out from the crowd ? i.e. clever features and especially non-restrictive use with POIs for everyday things like supermarkets / petrol stations as well as active POI for safety camera warnings ?

Destinator 7 too slow

Hi,
Is anyone here running Destinator 7 (forced to VGA) with a ~200MB map?
I got an updated map to Brazil (2008.q2) and Destinator now runs like installed in an 100mhz device...
It's true that with the map used before (just my City - São Paulo - 50mb) it was not so fast (Tomtom runs much more smooth but has older maps).
Any idea to optimize it? If i move the main app to internal memory make a great diference?
Thanks for the help Bros.

i have the same problem with tt7. recalculating takes too long.
more than 10 seconds. (which is long when you have to know when to take the alternative turn if you take a wrong one)
I'm a bit frustated with the GPS usage in Diamond
The best map for my country is Destinator compatible but the program itself runs very slow (almost not usable).
The second best map is Igo 2006 compatible but i cant make any navigation software based on its core run in Diamond (igo2006, MioMap3.3, onCourseNav, V7... )
The 3rd choice is TomTom7 but the map has some errors in some regions (downtown) of my City so i dont trust in it anymore.
I'm trying Garmin XT V4 this week. But i guess the map is a little old and designed more to inter cities roads than to urban (streets and avenues)use.
Igo8 runs but dont have maps to my place.
So i dont have a good solution at the moment.
Is destinator 6 more light that the 7 version? Is it deservs a try?

GPS

Hai...
My name is Bintara, I have HTC TyTn II, but I dont know how to install software GPS
You can use this google maps cab for free, or this TomTom 7 release(but you have to buy maps.)
There's a few other apps like iGo or OziExplorer but I think GoogleMaps is best for walking around the city, and TomTom for driving. Google maps starts off by using your cell-tower triangluation to start with so its really fast, and easy to swith to GPS mode, just look in the main menu. Enjoy your great new device.
