Hello!
I just flashed my phone to Froyo by following this guide http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/showthread.php/2921-How-to-use-Odin-to-upgrade-to-Froyo-from-Eclair and then flashed to Darky's v6.0 Gingerbread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091
Everything works flawlessly but I cannot type/write in Greek.
The funny thing though is if I change the locale to Greece all the menus are in Greek so it supports Greek Text.
How do I add Greek writing language? The only available text writing languages are: US/UK English, Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, Italiano, Nederlands, Portugues Europeu, Polski, @#@$#%* (must be Arabic, don't know), Turkce
Do I have reflash all the firmware? Can't I simply flash Greek Input Language?
Any links will be greatly appreciated thanks
Hi Marios,i m Greek too,and got the same prob.Since i upgraded to 2.2 then 2.2.1 and finally today at Darky romi havent found any greek...wish we could add some, but so far i havent seen a post how too...
Can someone help us?
hey, actually i also didnt find an out of the box method to type in greek, but finally tried the app "greek input method". Enable in Settings -> Text and Languageinput the greek keyboard and then everytime you wanna type greek do a long press on the text field and select greek keyboard as input method. By typing the flag the keyboard changes from QWERTY to greek keyboard.
The program alters Spanish or German system keyboard into one of the supported languages (see the list), or extends English keyboard. That will allow you to write text in your language anywhere in Windows Phone 7.
Starting from version 3.0 the application registers the keyboards in the system. So they are available under their own language switch.
If your phone hangs and restarts after installing version 3.x, then read the following post: #321.
Supported languages:
Russian
Ukrainian
Danish
Norwegian
Swedish
Finnish
Polish
Romanian
Czech
Hungarian
Bulgarian
Estonian
Latvian
Lithuanian
Bosnian
Croatian
Slovenian
Serbian
Slovak
Greek
Portuguese
Turkish
Hebrew
Macedonian
Thai (thanks to varavut for the layout!)
Arabic
Persian (Farsi)
Georgian (no font support, just a layout!)
Mongolian
Icelandic
I cannot test all keyboards personally. Please let me know if you find anything wrong in a keyboard layout.
Notes:
Use it on your own risk. In case of a problem, you might need to hard-reset your smartphone.
Your smartphone must be dev-unlocked: ChevronWP7 Unlocker, Tom XAP Installer.
The application supports Samsung, HTC and LG smartphones.
Version 3.x works on Samsung smartphones only. Other devices will be supported as soon as technically possible.
Versions 2.17+ support Mango. Imprortant: Your phone must be INTEROP-UNLOCKED to be able to run this application on Mango!
Changes in v2.21:
It works on Samsung phones with Mango now!
HTC COM-interfaces were updated to match the new libraries. It may fix compatibility with HTC phones on Mango.
Changes in v2.20:
New HTC libraries (extracted from Mango ROM). I hope it will fix the problem when the application cannot recognize an HTC phone.
Changes in v2.19:
Fixed alternative characters on Mango. (Note: this version is not compatible with older versions of OS anymore!)
Changes in v2.18:
Improved reporting of the initialization errors.
Changes in v2.17:
Experimental Mango support. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on Samsung devices yet. So I cannot test it on my Omnia 7. But it should work on HTC and LG devices. Please let me know whether it worked for you.
Imprortant: Your phone must be INTEROP-UNLOCKED!
Fix: Some keyboard layouts referenced nonexistent RegistryPatch.xml file.
Changes in v3.3:
New keyboards: Icelandic.
Greek: 7-bit layout can be installed side-by-side to the regular Greek layout.
Changes in v2.16:
New keyboards: Icelandic.
Before upgrading to a new version of the application, use "Revert patch" function.
Hm. Tried this on my HD2 with WP7-Rom.
German was the only selected Keyboard in Settings.
Deployed with WP7-Developer Tools, but nothing changed, both in german and spanish keyboard.

I can create a Spanish keyboard for you, but it will replace English one.
The best way for you could be moving to european version of ROM, if possible.
How about a Greek Keyboard For European Omnia 7?
Thanks for Danish

hey guys I am really in need for answer I have my note bought with the Arabic rom on it, where I can read and write Arabic without a problem, when I tried to use anysoftkeyboard with Hebrew addon the keyboard did not show the characters properly at all. My impression was that it would show the hebrew correctly as it has RTL support which is in my arabic rom.

Best solution would be to Google how to add language to android 2.3.3 to get french and if you wanna have a different keyboard just download a french keyboard or a Hebrew keyboard from the market
If you like my posts please hit thanks
Rom: Dark Knight 4
Kernel: Devil Kernel
KEEP IT ANDROID!!!!!!!
Hi, in purpose to add a locale to the menus, you need to decompile the apk "framework-res.apk" with an apk manager and translate from english to hebrew every string.xml so it isn't easy.
if i helped you, you should hit thx button
I think the best way to have the french language is to flash another rom with a factory reset.
This one for example : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061946
I installed latest Nameless rom. No French Canada locale. I need support for french QWERTY keyboard. I installed MoreLocale to switch to French Canada, but keyboard still in azerty. Had to install GO Keyboard to have french qwerty.
What I really want is to know if there's a way to add native French Canada with QWERTY keyboard in Nameless, without installing aditionnal apps.
Thanks
I also want to install Arabic
Anyone?
Come on, I'm sure it's no big deal?! Probably just a matter of copying a file or two to system folder.
Please help if you know the answer!
Thanks
