Of course it's possible. Search for GPS2Blue, little free program that does it.
There's GPSGate too, but it's payware and needs activesync on the PC.

Is it possible to use Kaiser as GPS device for the PC.
I dont know if there is any application already does this?
hi
you can use gps2blue, a free program to share the internal gps of kaiser or a good commercial program called gps gate.
Have a read of this thread, there are at least two applications that can do what you want, one is free, the other costs, as long as your laptop has BT it is easy, if not have a look at the active sync connectivity options in the software - Mike

GPS2BLUE as stated above, works very well.

Hello,
Is there a way to get my computer to use my tytn II as GPS device. I have MS streets installed, it accepts external GPS, can I connect it as a COM port?
Thank you
Do a search.
Also, does your computer have bluetooth? That seems to be an easy way to do this from the posts that I saw.

thanks for the reply, I did do a search, however, I didn't know what terms to put in the search box. I would really appreciate if you could provide me a link. Also, my computer has BT.
Thanks
You'll need a program like GPSGate for that.

I have that program
Huh.. then use it? The GPSGate configuration wizard will ask you what GPS device to search for, select internal GPS, then on the next page in the output options choose Share over Bluetooth... that's all it takes.
Then on the PC create a bluetooth partnership if it wasn't done yet, or just refresh services, and you'll have a virtual COM port called GPSGate GPS. Connect to that.
When you're done don't forget to exit GPSGate or the GPS will run continuously when the device is on with the associated battery drain.
I love how people don't know how to search, but they know how to write out their problem. It's pretty much that easy.
kasier/tilt/whatever gps with computer.
thats what you search for.
I'd like to use my diamond as a bluetooth/USB gps and get connected to my laptop. Due too its bigger screensize, viewing maps on laptop got to be nicer, but then how ??? Any clues smart guys???

Thanks bro, I'm gonna get it
You could also try GpsGate for PCC and PC..
Works great for me.
Hmm... I never even realised you could do this. Saves me buying a separate BT GPS receiver for my CarPC.
One question, how do you actually set this up over Bluetooth? It just asks me to pick a BT port, but I have no idea which port to use.
it's said that autoroute 2007 works on the PC, i'll give it a go
Hi there,
I did a couple of searches but couldn't come up with anything useful to answer this question:
Is there some way to activate the Kaiser's internal GPS, convert the stream to some universal format (say, NMEA) and pass it to another computer via USB, Bluetooth or WiFi? My idea is to use the Kaiser as an external "USB mouse" like those 80-buck USB Sirfstar III units. At least for me this would open a number of interesting applications on my laptop without having to carry around another GPS device in addition to my mobile phone.
So one possible use for this would be to do live tracking on google earth, Fugawi, OziExplorer or some serious GIS.
Does anyone know if this exists? If I had more time I might try to code something, but I'm swamped at the moment
J
I know there is an app that lets you track yourself via google earth. If you search more I'm certain that was a thread about using the phone as a BT gps device.
I'm bored so I will try searching too.

OMG in less then 60 seconds I found your answer. LOL good job searching.

Hey, thanks for your help despite the sarcasm.
It makes quite a bit of a difference if you know what you're searching for. I was mainly searching for "usb passthrough gps" and variations on "gps passthrough" which clearly lead nowhere.
That software looks like exactly what I was looking for, thanks.

Bluetooth, gps, tilt
Thats all I searched for.
GPS gate allows you to use bluetooth or usb. been using it with my work laptop for navigation.
GPS2blue allows external GPS access through bluetooth and IP (wifi or GPRS).
Awesome question and software. Thanks for posting!
Hey there!
Is there any way to use the Kaiser's GPS receiver as a bluetooth antena or through USB on a PC? Maybe COM to COM routing?
I use my laptop for planning trips, and have a GPS software on it... I'd rather use it instead of the Kaiser for the bigger screen.
Has anybody tried this?
SOLVED: Found the solution by using GPS2Blue.

There's the link is case anybody wants it too!
Franson GPSGate
lol yeah sort of an old topic, but at least you searched.
