I've been searching a lot in forums and wiki but I haven't found nothing conclusive yet
New radios pop up every day on xda-devs, so I must be missing something
Comnex mentioned something about estabillishing a direct USB connection using qmat (disabling activesync), but I really need help here, I am stuck...
Sorry to bother with my infinite questions but my willing to learn is bigger than my shame feelings LOL
the only radios ive seen have come with upgrades/complete roms, and its pretty easy to extract those, just stick the full .nbh in the kitchen and extract it.
the radio is the gsm .nbh

Connect your device to PC using active sync. Run its_utility_tools "pdocread" on PC. You shall get XIP, IMGFS and radio in binary.
Thanks a lot

Nope, pdocread doesn't work for Radio dumping.
If you have a security unlocked X1, you can use QMAT to dump radio flash.

Yes I've been trying with qmat, disabling activesync, but I can't figure out where to go then...

I posted this for the few people that were awaiting for the Herald kitchen.
So..i know that you must probably hate me till now, but sorry again i have to delay the porting of my Core Kitchen to the Herald.
It has come to my attention that there is still no way of flashing an Terra because there is no RUU and thus no means of flashing. I will see what i can do, meanwhile i got some work and i will leave for about 5 days.
If anybody has any ideas on how to help these people, please put it into action or give me a pm.
Cheers !
you can flash using Aserg's method which is what other cooker's have resorted to!

From what i understood ...
Aserg's method only works from ActiveSync . So this means that if you cook a rom with my kitchen and make a mistake and the rom doesn't work then you have a brick. That's why i didn't focused my attention on this. I was waiting for a proper RUU so that people wouldn't brick they're devices.
Hope you understand.
Well hopefully they roll out that new RUU for WM6 before the months end. Would love to do some experimenting with it during my vacation next month.

Yes that´s true. And nothing to say sorry - you had enough trouble with your PC.
But this is what I got as away for falshing from bootloader.
The problem is that the singing of the nbh file doesn´t worfk correctly - i guess.
I've been using his tool from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311909
He doesn't really show a method, so what I've been doing is:
1. Using NBHExtract to dump an .nbh that's on the Herald Wiki.
2. I rebuild the .nbh using Dark Simpson's little utility using the information I had luckily written down before I bricked the phone. So I plug in my ROM (4.10.531.3) in the Version, HERA110 in Device ID. The only other thing is that I'm not sure about the CID.
3. Place the new .nbh file in a folder with an updater (the ROM Update Utility that comes with the ROMs from the Herald Wiki).
4. Get the phone into Bootloader mode, start the updater.
In this way I've got rid of the Invalid Device ID error (error 243 or something?) and now it goes to 3% and tells me that the image file is corrupt.
I'm very new at this so maybe you can see a flaw in what I'm doing, or maybe with your knowledge we can figure this out. I was *almost* to the point of trying to cook using a couple links you've posted (XIP, dumps, etc) and then put it all together in a signed .nbh, but Rapidshare was holding me back... making me wait 80 minutes between downloads -_-
Anyway... I've only been trying to update the OS.nb portion since I believe I only screwed up my OS, not anything else. I can still get into the bootloader, my IPL/SPL still reads 4.xxxxxx, and by "brick" I mean that the phone just hangs on bootup at the T-Mobile splash screen. Correct? Incorrect?

Perhaps we can work with it.
It is not a huge problem for HTC branded devices as there is a RUU to flash with if everything goes wrong. It's just a problem for our T-Mobile Wing and O2 Terra cousins (if they brick their devices). But it's nice to see some proper chefs taking an interest, never liked the pdaviet ROMS ever since they used a whole bunch of Faria's stuff without asking.
im running pdaviet now, but im hoping to see something other soon, its not bad though, just a bit slow..lots of "lagging" on the today plugin, I used the herald dump from tupisdin earlier, and installed my fav progs on that...was pretty dam fast on my phone...only problem was that it occupied more space on the main memory when stuff was not cooked into the rom itself...
trying to learn about cooking myself, not so easy as a thought
But I guess im lucky to have a unbranded htc p4350, If i brick, I just install the official Ruu from HTC
(btw, I DO use Vista for flashing, just changed the usb driver that WMDC uses to connect via USB to the old activesync 4.5 USB driver...)
I have watch videos...read instruction etc, etc, all I could on ATT Tilt/Kaiser flashing...I still don't have a clue. Do I do some type of CID unlock 1st....then is there a Jump SPL and than a Hard SPL. Is any of them two done from the boot loader screen. I can fix most electronics but I don't understand.. no you-tube video...i saw it on flashing the kaiser....sound quality bad for the hard of hearing (me).

Download Jump SPL and Run it. Then the hard-spl. This will then allow you to flash the custom ROMs on your Kaiser.
Regards,
Carty..
I just went through this a few days ago trying to flash my first custom rom. I have to agree it is incredibly confusing and contradicting, which is why I'm taking the time to post this. Just read as much as you can about it and don't try to flash the rom until you understand. I am no expert on this by any means, but this is what i did on my tilt to flash HardSPL. I tried to make this as simple as possible just so you see the exact steps I went through, but i highly recommend reading the thread linked in the previous post by Carty above and the other link I'm posting at the very end.
1. download JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354061.
2. get the hardSPL version you need for your rom. I used v3.56 from the link Carty gave you in the post above, because the rom I am using was based on the official att 6.1 rom. You may need a different one for the rom you want to flash I don't know too much about this yet. Leave the folder where you unzipped the hardspl files open on your desktop so you wont have to look for it later.
3. connect your phone to the PC, and transfer JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe over to your phone with activesync. Remove your microsd card if you have one on your phone (very important).
4.run JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe on your phone, it should go to a bootloader mode with the tricolor screen and underneath it will say USB.
5.Unplug the phone from the PC, wait about 5-10 seconds and plug it back in. Activesync should NOT be able to recognize your phone. If it does, something went wrong so start over.
6. Finally you can run the KaiserCustomRUU.exe from the hardSPL folder on your pc desktop and follow the instructions. It will load the HardSPL on your phone.
7. if you want to make sure it loaded, shut down your device and when your are turning it on press both the power and camera button at the same time, it will go into bootloader mode and show you what SPL is on your device. mine says SPL-3.56.Hard after I loaded the hardspl. You are now ready to flash a new rom.
This wiki helped me the most:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser#ROMx20.Upgrading
Read as much of it as you can, especially the "SPL questions?" link, that was the most useful for me.
I hope this helps
All good advice! I just loaded the HardSPL on my phone for the first time and it worked perfectly.
Now all i need is a work connection that doesnt block my attempts to download ROM's!!!!!!

Unfortunately this is the Kaiser forum and you will get even less help here.
Post your questions in the Diamond forum and people will help, when and if they are able. And in the meantime, read and search and try to figure it out for yourself, All the steps and instructions are there.
Sometimes people, unfortunately, mistake this site for the HTC free support line, with 12 techs waiting at their PC's to help. Then they get irritated that no one answers their requests for help on a timely basis . If people won't or can't answer your questions then you need to figure it out on your own.
The bottom line is, if you don't know what you are doing, then you shouldn't be messing around with your phone. Sorry

And what I said was that this was the Kaiser forums and not the Diamond forums. Putting Kaiser Spl's on a Diamond will brick your phone faster than throwing it into a bucket of water. So I gave him a link to the Diamond forum and Diamond Security/CID/Sim unlocker.
How is your question related to the Kaiser forums ?
Will it work on my TP/Excalibur? No as phones have different hardware to which is why h-spl's are device specific.
The best way to help yourself and not get a brick "expensive paperweight" is to head to device subforum and do some reading, as last thing you want is to be creating a thread named "Help"

Since I cannot find anything helpful in Diamond forum, I dig around in other forums to try to rescue my phone and make it usable.
Which is a recipe for diasaster...seriously, if you are gonna do something as stupid as to try to make something SPECIFICALLY for another device work on yours, then you do not deserve to own a Diamond.
I posted this deep in another thread (a sticky), but I think it fits better as a new topic because it is not specific to that other thread. I'll make a note in the other thread to avoid duplicates.
Okay....
I'm absolutely new to the world of ROMs and SPL, HSPL, SSPL and USPL - but I've been doing my homework today and I've read all of the wiki links more than once.
Before diving into it and making some dumb newbie mistake, I wanted to run a couple of things by you guys.
I have the German o2 ROM 1.14.207.2 (24011) GER.
I don't want the o2 branding, but I still want it in German.
So, I want to flash RUU_BlackStone_HTC_GER_1.14.407.3_Radio_52.49a.25. 26_1.09.25.14_Ship.exe
My understanding is that since these are both stock ROMs (at least I believe they both are, right?), my stock SPL should accept the new ROM without any problems. In other words, I don't need anything like USPL. Am I correct? Or do I actually need USPL because the new ROM is not from my current vendor which is o2?
Based on what I learned reading all the info, this is what I plan to do:
Turn off my phone, remove SIM and MicroSD
Enter boot mode (tricolor screen)
connect phone via usb to WMDC (Vista 32-bit). The settings are set to ALLOW usb connections
Disable my antivirus program
Disable all power saving modes, screensavers etc.
Run the RUU Ship.exe mentioned above as administrator
Follow instructions until device reboots
So now my warranty should still be fine. If I have to send the device in for repair, to I need to put the o2 ROM back on it?
Thanks for your help (and patience) with a newbie that scared to turn his HD into a brick. I think I'll wear diapers while I'm flashing - just in case.
I'll wait for some responses before I tackle the 7 steps above.

No, thats not true at all. For instance you can't flash a WWE Rom over a German Rom, although they are both stock roms. There is a country specific code (CID). The stock SPL is checking this, so its impossible to flash roms coming from another country.
I'm not sure if the stock SPL also checks the vendor/operator, but I guess it does.

You should just try it. The SPL will tell you whether it accepts the rom or not.

First of all you should consider which SPL you want to use. If you really just want to flash this new rom, USPL is good for you, if you are going to change your rom more frequently then HSPL is the way to go.
Instructions on how to use this SPLs are given in the appreciate threads (with many comments of other users), so you should look them up (again).

You warrany is fine, if the operator/vendor gets the device with the rom he shipped it to you (or any official upgrade provided by this operator/vendor). If you flash the official htc german rom, you might loose your warranty.

Read the USPL thread carefully - you have to disable allow usb connections. In vista you will probably find that you will have to downgrade the USB drivers - that is dealt with in Post 69 of the USPL thread - see also post 1 of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291723

yes, I had read that about disabling usb connections. I just thought that if I did not need USPL then I could leave usb connections enabled and try the other german ship.exe rom. Anyway, I think might need to alter the SPL anyway.
THANK YOU ALL for your responses. They were very helpful and it is time for me to get working on it when I get home.
I will post back my results.
Well, everything worked out fine.
I ended having to use USPL because my SPL did not accept the new stock ROM (same language, but different vendor: o2 vs. non-branded).
I did have to downgrade my vista drivers for it to work. I followed all the wiki instructions and had no problems.
Thanks again for the help.

I want to recover files from my Kaiser which crashed recently. I've heard rumors that it would be possible to reconstruct the phone's filesystem from a NAND dump or something like that. I want to dump the necessary areas of the phone's memory from the bootloader and then convert the dumps into usable data. Thanks for the help.
Yeah, I did my searching, no flashing the phone is not an option (it makes it impossible to recover my files), yes the files are probably still there, yes I am technically literate.
There is no comprehensive list of commands that can be sent to the Kaiser bootloader through MTTY that I have been able to find. Has anybody found such a document? It would be very useful.
I have an HTC Kaiser 120
It has some outdated version of HardSPL
It is not Sim/CID locked
I have windows mobile 6.1 on it
Anyways, thanks for the help.

There are plenty of bootloader commands on the wiki for other devices, most of which behave the same.
In what way did you're device crash? It might be recoverable...
If it is truley stuck you could try using QMAT (http://revskills.de) to help read data straight off the NAND.
Thanks
Dave
I remember there being a guide to using MTTY that had a list of commands, but that was long ago, i think in the wizard days. Search the wiki or reach out to some of the guru's.
sidenote, its reasons like this i keep all my files on my SD.
Thank you all very much. I was hoping to find a guide specifically for the Kaiser because issuing bootloader commands which differ between phones could have disastrous results. You've been most helpful. I'll update when I've tried some stuff out.

Hi, I've lurked this graveyard since picking up a clio110. I appreciated all of the resources, information, and most of all; The Search Tool.
Since then, I acquired a clio200. I didn't realize the difference and I've bricked the WinMo board. I can still access bootloader but it seems I need a file. The file was shared by cmonex to a few members in need. The file name is: "RUU_ATLA_HTC_SPCS_1.14.651.1_0.14_2.30.00_1.33_PRL60711_SHIP_MO_Disable_PPST.exe"
I've seen mentioned in a few threads but cannot find it on the Google Drives nor the internet at large. Would a kind soul happen to have this file and be able to share it? I'm really bummed because it affects the audio hardware on the PC side since the audio components are on the WinMo board. You generousity can bring generousity. There are probably others out there that need the file and have given up. I really like the device and would really like to be able to make it work again. Please.
Snap vue hard reset
Ive also just obtained a htc shift, but whilst thevpreviuis own had restored the vista side ok. The snapvue side doesnt work as they have forgotten the password. There used to be tools to reset this but unsurprisingly the links are dead. If any one could make them available it woukd be a lifesaver

Please.

Sorry, I checked my HTC Shift archived files and I don't have this RUU_ATLA_HTC_SPCS_1.14.651.1_0.14_2.30.00_1.33_PRL60711_SHIP_MO_Disable_PPST.exe file that you are after.

Appreciate the dig. I still have that board if that file ever surfaces. Maybe one day. I have a couple other GSM based units that I still enjoy to this day!
