Anyone tried TickerTape 0.5.1 in Fuze w/ stock ROM? - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Colleagues,
I have tried running TickerTape on my Fuze with a stock ROM. It installs fine but when I run it, it says that it needs a newer version of .NET. However, I have .NET 3.5 installed.
Have you been able to run it successfully in the same configuration I have?
Thanks in advance.

I have TickerTape-0.5.1.cab installed to my SD card, on stok rom, and it works fine. I did nothing special to make it work. Maybe uninstall, reset, reinstall TickerTape-0.5.1.cab? Or maybe do the same to the "MS .NET CF v3.5..cab". Just a shot in the dark.

OlSarge,
Thanks for your assistance.
I uninstalled TickerTape and .NET 3.5 but when I tried to reinstall .NET back it gives me a message saying "the .NET Compact Framework version you are attempting to install already exists in ROM".
I am at a loss.

You need to flash a cooked ROM. The stock ROM blows. Take a look at this one:forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467592

Installing a different ROM will void the warranty.

Install netCF 2.0! Yes 2.0 because 3.5 does NOT include all features of 2.0
Solved almost all my netCF problems with cooked 3.5.

tyguy,
The problem is that most programs need 3.5.

Issue solved: here is why I could not reinstall .NET 3.5: When you first install 3.5 the instructions tell you that at the end you need to change the registry so that 2.0 is turned off (with a 0) and 3.5 is turned on (with a 1). If you uninstall 3.5 the registry is left untouched, meaning that 3.5 is still on; that's why the message that the version already exists. So, I had to go in, reverse the registry: turn off 3.5 and turn on 2.0; now I was able to reinstall 3.5 successfully.
After this, I was able to install and run TickerTape successfully.

netCF in general
@jdomi99
Though this worked for you there is still an issue.
If you look at the SDK and SPs for 2.0 to 3.5 you WILL see that 3.5 is NOT a super set of 2.0 (meaning including all 2.0 features plus 3.5 additions on top).
They can and will co-exist without negative performance issues so installing both doesn't a.) harm anything and b.) wont slow your device down. Though 2.0 is slower, applications will pull the required parts which may be 2.0 or 3.5.
That's at least how our dot net developers explained the issue.
BTW there is a little software tool to change the settings via an application instead of modding the reg. Unfortunately I do not have it anymore (would appreciate if one could post it).
Edit:
Found the little app in the Lumos thread (see attached) there you can assign general policy and even which app uses which .net version.
Install and you should find it as first listed program under Programs.

Help reinstalling .NET 3.5

Colleagues,
I have some problems with some apps that tell me that I need a newer version of .NET than the one installed even though I have 3.5. So I uninstalled .NET 3.5 and did a soft reset. When I try to install it again it tells me that "the .NET Compact Framework version you are attempting to install already exists in ROM".
What did I do wrong and do I need to do?
Thanks in advance.

beejive starting -> netcfv35.messages.de.wm.cab

hey guys.
when i try to start the pre installed beejive with my raphael with win mobile 6.5 (EnergyROM 3.0 'Phoenix' (21812)) there is some wired message telling me to download the "netcfv35.messages.de.wm.cab" to get the full error. i have done this. still same ****. havent found anything on inet/xda developers. tried SEVARAL roms/win mobile versions. still no solution. i am wondering if i am the only one.....?!
what i am wondering about is: why does this app tell me to download the DE version(is the code for deutschland - germany). well i am german. but how does the raphael know? i havent installed a german tool. nothing!
maybe some solutions or suggestions!
ty in advance
I dont think beejive works with WM6.5. i had the same prob and had to stop using it. Maybe theres a work around?
EDIT: i was looking for something else and came across a fix for it i tried it out and it works! heres the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421821
have the same error with win mobile 6.1.
also it is pre installed on a 6.5 rom. why should the chef do this if it would not work?!
i tried the same patch few days ago. didnt worked for me. how have you done it?
beejive was pre installed. than i installed the 1. LennySh_SQLCEMobile_3.0.CAB after this the 2. BeeJive_Fix.CAB
still same error..
I had the same issue, and also with TrackMe. The Energy ROM I'm using has .NET 3.7 cooked in. I got BeeJive (and TrackMe) working by installing .NET 3.5 and SQLServerCompact 3.5 core. Once I installed them, both BeeJive and TrackMe worked without any problems.

I have just installed the latest version of windows 6.5 energy rom and can no longer get pockettwit to work get the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab error. Installed the cab but still dont get the complete error msg. So is the problem because the rom has .NET 3.7 cooked and not .NET3.5? If so is the solution the same as you have above? and if so where i do i find .NET 3.5 an SQLServer...
and install them?
Love the new energy ROM so much quicker etc - though does eat the power
These are the cabs I used to install .NET 3.5 and SQLCE on the 2009/6/13 Energy ROM (standard). I simply installed .NET, then SQLCE, then soft reset. BeeJive (and TrackMe) worked fine after the soft reset. I did not do anything else - both the cabs installed fine.
The forum won't let me attach the .NET cab... The filename is "NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab". I'm sure that I found it somewhere here at XDA, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.
nope.
I installed .NET, then SQLCE, did NOT work. (using energy rom 3.0)
maybe someone is going to need this:
NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
http://rapidshare.com/files/77805623/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
edit
and YES i did a soft reset..

Strange. It has worked for me 3 times in the last 10 days (trying various software, not liking it, hard reset).
The only thing I can think of is that my sashimi autoconfig installs the SQLCE cab. After sashimi has finished, and I've done some manual tweaking, I soft reset, install .NET 3.5 & SQLCE, soft reset, then everything just works. It is possible that there is a soft reset between .NET and SQLCE - I'm not entirely sure, but its worth a try.
Thanks for linking the .NET cab. For what it's worth, the version I install is 2.58 MB (2,707,308 bytes). Is it possible that yours is different?
I hope you find a way to get it working.
this file got exactly 2,707,308 bytes, too.
well. now i am going to deinstall beejive SQLC an .NET. then install SQLC (softreset) .NET (softreset) beejive (softreset).......nope. still not working. damn it.
just realized that msn is working. maybe my icq contact list is too big? going to try an other account..
edit
icq with 5 contacts working fine. WTF!?
this post is really old. but now i found out whats the problem:
after A LOT of research i GUESSED that a problem might be some strange user names in my contact list. i am talking about characters like this ****: ÐØΓťšĹĦĨ (just examples..)
i changed their 1337 h4xx0r!!1111oneone names into something normal...
now its working
maybe this is going to help somebody.

NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab
If you are having trouble making the error messages to work with NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab you might want to try to remove \Windows\System.SR.dll (backup, of course) and then installing the messages cab.
NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab and others...
im doing a forum search to try to find out what these netCFv..etc files are for but havent really figured it out. there are a few different ones out there, dont even know which I would need.
Ive also had programs tell me to install these net files before, but Im hesitant to start searching out and installing things I dont understand.
Im using stock rom (havent updated yet) for T Mobile USA HD2, with Cookies installed.
Any love for a noob?

advancedconfig.exe error wrong .NET version

Running Wm6.1 so it should have the latest NET compact framework. But when I try and run advancedconfig.exe It says it needs the newest version.
Istalling the one from Micro$oft says instal failed.
Tanks for any help on this
If you're on a stock rom, they all have cf 2.0. You need 3.5 to run AC. There's a version at modaco.com that's easy to install.

Problem running HardSPL :(

Chaps,
Just received a new X1 on insurance and want to use Smaberg's new Touch X 10.1, but when i tried to run X1_Hard SPL.exe, i get the following error:
File or assembly name 'System Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089', or one of its dependecies, was not found.
Any ideas on what to do...forgot how much i hate the standard software on the Vodafone X1s!!!
The Diggler
what OS are you using on your computer?
and i think that the program needs some sort of program to run. .net framework maybe not sure
Running XP, with service pack 3 and already put the .net 3.5 framework onto it. Didnt have this problem last time with my old X1 when i changed ROMs.
