Guys,
Occasionally, my phone will "delay" the receipt of text messages until I maybe unlock the phone, send another message, or occasionally clear the "Manila.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. When the text arrives, it shows the time it "ought" to arrive, if that makes sense.
Any ideas of any software that might cause issues like this, or something?
Cheers

I have been using my Tilt for a few months now with AT&T and have had very few problems. I have flashed it and tweaked it to my likings, however the other day I came upon a very weird problem. I was sent a text message by a friend but the message does not respond to any commands (delete, move, mark as read, etc) or allow me to view it. So now i have a text message which is new and unread and it is very annoying. I have pulled the battery, re-flashed it, etc without any luck.
Does anyone have any idea if this message is somehow being stored on my phone in a way i can get rid of it? Thanks for your help
I know someone might have a problem with me opening up a thread but ive search the forums and cant find an answer to my issue.
The issue i have is that sometimes my text messages are delayed. What i mean by that is sometimes a delayed message comes in with a new message coming also, so ill be getting 2 messages ...a delayed one and also a totally new one. also a delayed message comes in sometimes when i just go into my message section just to check something or start a new message then the delayed one comes in. does anyone else have this issue or an asnwer for it? thanks in advance
i think that's more related to service provider. like an overload in the system at those times so messages get delayed in sending or delayed in receiving. i dont think its phone related though.
Does anyone get like a glitch kinda thing with their sms when they are receiving them. ...Sometimes I will receive sms messages with no problems what so ever and i will receive them right away. Other times, It will be hours after they were sent and I will receive them. Or I will not receive them until the next time I go and open my sms inbox when im planning to send another, all of a sudden I just receive a new msg, hours late.
Any ideas?
its usually just your gsm service, my carrier is on-time but the time-stamps on the message is sometimes wrong.
maybe sometimes, but other times ...for example, I may be having a conversation at night, then fall asleep. The next morning, when im going to send a new sms message, i open the sms message window and a new text arrives with the time stamp from the night before, and i know that this new message was not just sent now because the person who sent it is still asleep
bump.......
yea its the network.
or u just got a really crappy sim card.
Yeah, I get that. It's probably a minor software glitch. I've had people call me complaining I didn't respond to a message and lo and behold, when I open messages to prove them hideously wrong, the 'message recieved' tone beeps several times and "[X] new text messages" pops up at the bottom of the screen.
Still not figured out how to set the phone up to do this (i.e. whether you minimise or hide the messaging app, whether you open a new app first then go back to today screen, etc..)
Still, only rarely happens. And at other times when recieving texts I could swear the phone doesn't beep... just conspirationally increments the new message counter and keeps silent. I pick up the phone after it's been sat next to me and it says I have several new messages.
Same thing happens to me, i've researched it for days and cant find a fix. I'm dreading calling ATT because they are usually of no help, but I'm gonna put my pants on and call them in a few minutes.
Hey guys,
My house is located in a semi-dead zone and I have a very frustrating issue with text messages. I usually have 1 bar when my phone is closed and can easily receive text messages. However, once I open my phone's keypad up to respond, I loose the bar and have to close my phone again and tap "Try again" after I get a bar back. It is incredibly annoying and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced this.
So my question is:
Is there any software or fix that will allow Windows Mobile to automatically send queued text messages as soon as it gets service? (like every other normal cell phones does)
Thanks in advance,
- Peter
I have the same issue. I was hopeing the phone would do that as well. But im afraid that they assume we all have good service.
Any help would be appreciated.
I am in a position where I'm unable to send text messages. When I try to I get the above error message or the message status keeps displaying as 'SENDING' but message never goes. I am able to make voice calls no problem. I have rebooted, force stopped the message app, all to no avail. I have been using the phone with no problems for months now and this happens out of the blue. Would really appreciate someone's help on this.
Regards
Ferg
May be it's caused due to one one of the mods installed, apps, or data corruption. Reflashing the rom should eliminate the problem.

Ooops bit embarrassed but posting this in case someone else makes the same mistake. But it seems the SMS I was responding to comes from a number which does not accept text messages. This was also causing other messages to be held up which explains why legit responses were slow to send. So hopefully problem is solved.
Will probably upgrade my slim bean rom next week hopefully it goes smoothly
