I think he meens the total call duration you find in "device info" where you have total min. and sec. of outgoing and incoming calls. That was what I thought that cant be reset, or you must hack your phone totaly

The request from fabio84 was not to clear Call History but rather to remove Call Duration which once again is found under:
Start>Setting>System>Device Information>Call Duration
I've seen this done with older HTC models (Hermes) using Mitty.exe

I have not seen a way of doing that either. I know on my elfin whenever i flashed a rom it would completely reset it.

Paste option in Phone

I have one very important missing in my Diamond.
When I want to call one number that is written somewhere (if someone send it to me by SMS or if I write it in a note) usually in my Qtek s200 I copied and then pasted the number in phone (the option paste was in the menu)... now in the diamond I don't find this option in the menu!?!?!?!?! How is it possible?!?! Do I have to write it somewhere else and then use it in phone?!?!!
Please... do someone have an idea??
Thnx!!
Urosh
I also am missing this feature is it hidden somewhere??
i dont have this problem
errr im not sure how you did it on your old phones but this is how i do it for an sms for example: click on SMS in TF3D, get rid of keyboard, then highlight the text/number i want in the received message, then long press on the highlighted text and menu pops up so say copy (and some other options) i then click copy...
go to where i want to put the number, long press on screen again, same menu pops up, i select paste... whats the problem, am i missing something here?
Usually if you want to call and the number is in SMS, it is usually highlighted and you can click it and it will ask if you want to call it.

The first part is ok.... but then if you want to call the number that you have copied (it means that it is in your clipboard) how do you do this? In the s200 I started Phone and then Menu and there was an option Paste and the number that I copied was pasted ready to be dialed. But now here there is no paste option in the Menu.
Kraize92... and if it is not?!? Paper and pencil??

This may be specific to the dialer used in your ROM. But generally, you can copy the number in your email/text/mms or whatever. Then when you open your phone's dialer, if you have a Menu option (lower right soft key in my case), you should have an option to paste. It will then put the number into your phone pad.

I realised that the paste function is present in the phone status menu (and not in phone keypade menu), but it is impossible to use because it comes out while you have a conversation. The problem still persists!! Any suggestion how to paste a copied number in the phone keypad???
Thnx

No, I'm not using the ROM you referenced. Never even touched the Diamond before. Just speaking in generalities based on my experience with other HTC devices and Windows Mobile.
So I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say "it is impossible to use because it comes out while you have a conversation". Are you saying you're trying to paste a number into the dialer WHILE you are having a conversation on the phone?
Normally when you paste a number into the dialer it will open the keypad and put the number into the same field as if you'd pushed the soft number buttons on the screen. It doesn't matter if the keypad is up or not when you paste. You just need to have the paste option in your dialers menu.

Exactly this is the problem... I don't have a paste option in the dialer menu... like I had in my Qtek s200!

Yes. I met this issue too.
Anyone? Thanks.

Sorry about my English. Highlight the phone number received, such as SMS, to restrain the phone number, click Copy.
Then enter the dialer, click on " # " in the lower right corner on the menu and already is the desired Paste.
I have Menu->Paste in my Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, Atom Life and Xda II Mini.
From experience, the Menu->Paste command normally went missing if you installed other dialer. Even after you uninstall them, it won't be there anymore. So far, I never tried to find the solution for it.
Anyway, if you're using the stock rom, hard reset would definitely bring back Menu->Paste. I'm not sure about cooked rom.

Call log / list - right button not working!

Is it just on my diamond, that in the dialer the left and right button does not work anymore?
Are there solutions to open the call list without using the menu?
Thanks!

try a search in the xda-developers\development and hacking.
there are a lot of dialers with the history button on them. the problem is that i do not recall any of them working for VGA...
In the PHONE mode (Dialer) you have 'Contacts' on the left, and 'Menu' on the right.
If you look in the center, there is another Icon.
Tap on it.. and you have the call history

"Start recording" item under Phone application?

Can someone tell me, which function has a Start recording item under the right menu in Phone application? I see this on my Diamond2 with official 1.39.479.1 ROM, but when I try to click on it (during active phone call), than this button donĀ“t do anything.
Is it forgotten function from HTC?
Yep ... didn't notice it but it's there (Dutch version)
Maybe it's reserved for the Touch pro 2 ?
I think it's for recording voice notes after the call.
Shame, I'd love to be able to record a call at the touch of a button!
R
I expect it will be included in the Touch Pro2 ROM ...
If it is, it won't take too long before there's a cab version on these forums for the TD2

You can! I just did it. During a call you go to the notes section of the contact and there will be a red recording button at the bottom. The only downside is that it is not attached to the contact, but is placed in "My documents" and "calls". I wish it would be easily accessible under the specific contact's notes.
I tried this but it only records my side of the conversation (was using headphones - if that makes any difference). I also saw the greyed-out 'record call' button on the right menu. It would be AWESOME to get this working!
Yes, it is possible to record conversations, with both incoming and your own voice!!!!
Some guys found a way to patch the Registry so you can record conversations 2-ways.

I have installed the 2_Way_Plus_InCall_Recording cab from the last link and installed Resco Audio Recorder, it perfectly records all my conversations automaticly!!!
Without Resco Audio Recorder or other extra software you can also record manually by pressing the record option in the dialer menu.
The files will be saved in mydocuments/notes

It works!
But now I noticed a problem.
The device won't turn itself off anymore after 1 minute.
Do you have a solution for that?

No, here it still works, but sometimes my phone changes settings by itself, so maybe it has been changed by itself?
No need to play with the registry, the call needs to "connect" for the grayed out "start reording" is able to be pressed, mine records both ways and it ends after the call ends.

[Q]

I have got a LG-Optimus P-698 android phone. I request for following help.
1. Is there a software that will help me to attend my incoming calls without the need to slide the call attending (green) button? It sometimes requires two hands to attend an incoming call.
2. How do I access the last made call to recall this number. In other touch phones it I just press one of the buttons (usually the left corner button at the bottom), it will make a call to the last called or last missed call.
3. I understand that there is software which when installed into the phone, will become a speaker activated phone as soon as the phone is kept away from the ear.
4. Is there a way to automatically add or ask to add the contacts of persons whose name/s do not appear in the existing contact list.
5. How do I change the default fonts.
6. Lastly what is rooting, root browsing.
1- it's easy to answer with your thumb, just practice
2- read your manual, press the call button (phone like icon) and the second tab is for the call record
3- never heard of an app that does that, but search the Android market
4- in the call record long press the number and select add contact
5- in settings>screen settings should appear fonts, if it's not there your rom doesn't support changing fonts.
6- rooting is not for the amauter user, start reading, start in Wikipedia or something and Google "android root" "what does rooting android means"
I hope it helps

"Unknown" in call history when making phone call

Hi,
I have an HTC one with Android Revolution 8.0.
Each time i make a phone call, the number appears in the call history with the correct contact linked but another "unknown" phone call appears at the same time at the top of the history list.
Anyone's having the same issue ?
Thank you !

Its feature off the app
Headset button controller puts a entry for unknown to override double tap redial feature offered by sense.
HTC sense offers feature to redial last number on double tap of headset button, Now most of us are used to pressing double tap to skip to next song. Now there is no way a app can disable this as all hardware interrupts are first intercepted by Core OS i.e. Android then overlaying framework i.e. Sense and then app. so this app intelligently pus a null entry on top of list. so that it can use double tap interrupt for other things like fwding to next song.
Now if you dont want this feature and want to switch back to defauly sense behavior you can go to Headset button controller setting ->advanced tab-> advanced settings and uncheck Redial Fix (HTC)
cheers
