Hi, I saw the other day on the internet, the WM6.1 have a very cool internet explorer, that you can zoom out and things like that.
Is it posible to install a internet explorer like that on a ATT TILT wm6 ???
I can do that with Opera Mini it is free just got to www.opera.com on your phone and it will download it. It is a java app so you will have to run java everytime you want to get online but it loads quickly on my tilt so it doesn't bother me. Loads a lot better than IE

Personally I never use Internet Explorer unless checking MLB/NFL scores quick.
I use Opera Mini ( http://www.operamini.com/beta/ ) <---- Download here
This is one of the best free browsers out there...again in my opinion. I also like Opera 9.5 (here is the link to the leaked beta version that I use and I love it!!) ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=378876&page=10 )

Okay I have this installed on my diamond and have a few questions.
Im remoting onto a vista laptop, Im connecting okay.. however no matter what I set in the remote desktop mobile options, I cannot see any mapping for my handheld device to transfer files. Ive tried My Computer, Ive tried Network.. nothing. Why? Any advice?
Secondly, the pocketnow video demonstrating remote desktop mobile being run on the diamond in landscape mode. I see no option for this.. how can it be done?
Thirdly, if you run remote desktop mobile in full screen you seem to lose access to the disconnect button and SIP. Any suggestions?
The CAB file works great for me, but it's not possible to access the telephone's memory through the explorer on the remote machine, like described here: http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=5454
So it's not possible to get music from home for example... Does anyone know, why? Of course it's possible to put the requested files into a apache-folder and download it using opera, but thats not the best way.

..am currently looking at two Diamonds (my now TLR2-based test unit and my 1.37.401.3-based stock production unit) and neither have it installed, however I do vaguely remember seeing it a while back on he test unit which originally was a HK import and thus old ROM. Guessing now removed (in some markets at least)?

Nope.. I definately have the new version as the allow device mapping is in the options. Even when ticked, I still cannot see my mapped device when connecting to a remote computer (Vista home premium)
It works fine on my diamond, both within the LAN as well as per 3G. However is there a possibility to get keyboard to be able to enter things as well?

Yup, it's plain WM6, not 6.1.

It did not work for me either.
So I started a petition on this blog http://max.zamorsky.name/2008/11/04...bile-into-touch-diamond-and-all-current-roms/ to collect comments as a means to persuade HTC and Microsoft to include RDP in every ROM by default.
They seem to misunderstand who their lead-users are...

today i read a news about a new upcoming browser named skyfire.
and what i am asking me: when the open beta comes to my country and i install it on my diamond... can i change the default browser für touchflo3d?
here is a version i tried using. only half the screen is skyfire and the other half is today screen. check it out. maybe it works for you.
Skyfire is a pretty good web browser for mobile phones. It was apparently found to be the fastest - mostly because it renders the pages from a central server.
I believe you have to register with them to fully use the software (you need a Skyfire account).
Also, there is a new release, but it still does not support VGA devices yet.

maybe in some time no one wants to use opera and all want to use skyfire.
seemts that its just a simple shortcut to change.
Skyfire is not compatible to VGA right now.
I tried out Skyfire on my diamond and there is a workaround the half screen problem. Other than the fact that flash works, i don't think it is better than Opera 9.5 at least not until a VGA version comes out.
I uninstalled Skyfire and now I have the problem where PIE is now my default browser instead of Opera. Whenever I tap on a link on my rss reader or email, it goes to PIE by default. Is there a way to change my default browser back to opera?
Just Re-run the WM_6_HTC_PPC_Opera9.cab in your windows directory, and it will re-install Opera and fix the link issues. Your bookmarks, history and other browsing data will not be harmed.
Skyfire 0.85 is out, with VGA support. Just tried it and it works like a dream on my Diamond, even able to watch top gear on iPlayer with it.

I just downloaded it too and mananged to get a video playing from the iPlayer but I don't get any sound. Did you have any issues with sound at all?
(I'm on Dutty's V3.2 ROM)
To answer another question the latest version works on VGA but allegedly not on WVGA so Touch HD users may be disappointed. You can download it here http://get.skyfire.com/ and yes, Skyfire asks you if you want to make it the default browser.

Maybe... but uninstalling it even when it's not default resets your default browser to PIE. Which sucks.

Just open http://get.skyfire.com/ in your mobile browser, you'll get to download the cab directly from the phone!

This is because unlike PIE/Opera Mobile, skyfire downloads the webpage on a regular pc, then sends you "an image" of the website, in a low quality.
So it's not actually that fast, zooming and panning are weak on it.

Look for Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 and a compatible Opera build =]

Installed this on shep's latest rom and it flys
Removed previous version via add remove programs and installed the cab
and this opera is really a turbo make that twin turbo's
yeah it looks really nice and all but don.t forget it.s just the first beta. if u look more closely you can see that most of the plugins are disabled - falsh etc.(and opera turbo is in there just for the preview - very unstable and buggy and probably not ready yet).
still, it looks and feels really nice so i.m gonna be really interested in the final release. till then i.m on skyfire - still unbeatable in mobile browsing experience
it sux that there is no flash i guess i will be using skyfire a little longer

The zooming feature on my htc touch pro doesn't seem to work.
I'm not talking about the zooming feature of clicking on the screen but the scroll on my htc touch pro itself.

Yeah I'd like to know this as well. That zooming feature is the ONLY reason I use Opera Mobile over Iris and Skyfire.

There's no choice to open or save file like in PC browsers... I know that rar files can be saved in such way, but no such files like *.cab.
You can't download files unless turbo is disabled. I know, hassle.
Edit: Also, just press your finger over the link for a couple seconds then go to save.
Well.. I used Advanced Config. Went to more settings and went to smart touch. I then added Opera Mobile to the list and was excited because I thought it would use the zoom bar to zoom!

Opera 9.7 on turbo mode browsing Facebook
Have you guys tried Facebook with Opera 9.7 on turbo mode?
When I try it, on the home screen of Fbook, I cannot click anything except stuff like Home, Profile, Friends, Inbox (the top buttons).
Everything else just reloads the home page.
Very similar to Opera mini in that respect.
Is there a trick about this or something.

After upgrading Fuze rom from ATT website to 5.11.502.2, I am facing two problems with HTC Fuze (ATT)
1. When i disconnect the call, phone automatically connects to EDGE. How to stop this?
2. When i search some of the sites on net, it prompts me with a message
"Please use Internet Explorer Version 5.5 or later".
Now as per WinMo 6.1, IE is latest. How to inform the website about browser capabilities? I tried different USER AGENT strings to identify my browser on web but did not work.
Pls. help.

ok, i have no idea about your edge problem, doesn't happen to me (or just haven't really noticed)
but, that version of ie on wm 6.1 is actually based on ie 4 desktop, if you flash a 6.5 rom, you will get the ie6 browser. so, to remedy, either flash or install a 3rd party like opera 9.7 or skyfire.

I suggest that you flash a 6.5 ROM.
personal choice.
If he/she wants to use the offical rom, then I suggest someone who has knowledge posts comments or atleast observations in hopes of working towards a fix.
