i've installed a cooked rom (Athine 6.1) and since i cant get BBC Iplayer working.
the work arounds i have used in the past such as the user agent mod using Opera Mobile (worked on my original Orange rom), and SkyFire worked (Must set the Weather on HTC home to a UK city) on the HTC original WWE 3.34.721.2. havent worked.
I'm assuming im either missing a registy key which is modifyed by HTC home Weather. or it needs modifying........
A bit of a big ask but can anyone tell me which registry keys relating to country are changed by HTC home
Try removing the proxy setting under connections. That could be the cause.

I already know about another device with the same problem. The city list is empty and options are disabled. My device is a production unit bought in UK.
Anyone got this working? anyone can sugget how to fix?
Giving this a big kick 'cause I'm having the same problem. No options show up when setting up the weather, and Select and the Menu-options won't work either.
I'm connected to the internet via Wi-Fi by the way.

Please... anyone?
I switched carrier today and I tried again with a 3G-connection but still no luck. Same problem still stands.
Have u guys tried installing a newer version of HTC HOME?
font problems
Ronen, you being Israeli, i suppose you have hebrew installed.
Disable it, soft reset, and set the weather location. then enable the hebrew again.
Worked for me. Mine is set to Netanya now.
Not working for me either. I tried using HHC 0.8b and 1.0 with no luck on several cities in my area. Running version of HTC home in Schaps 4.3 rom.
I remember you used to have to edit the weather database with notepad to add your city then copy back to ppc. Doesn't work either. I disabled the weather tab and am using xcast.
Try going to http://weather.not2advanced.com/files/
I also had to manipulate my connection settings - but that only applies to media net in the USA - I had to disable the proxy and in my Work connection, tell it to connect to the internet
GuyGush- you are a genious!!!
Disabled the additional language and was able to choose NYC for my city!
Thanks

HTC Home Weather and Quickdial
I solved problem with my German MDA Vario II:
With HHC software I changed the default language of HTC Home. After that everything started to function! It was so easy, byt I looked everywhere for days without finding this anywhere.
Hope it will solve the problem with all other HTC users.
Find this software: HHCv10Final.CAB
Does anyone know of a weather today plugin that works on Tmobile's Proxy Wap plan (while not looking hideous?)
I love the HTC Home plugin, but it just doesn't work outside of activesync/wifi...
I'm using PDAVIET's ROM .15 on a Wing.
Both spbweather and sbsh pocketweather work through the tmobile proxy wap. Neither is free though.
I had the weather working on my wizard just fine but it doesn't connect on the dash. There must be a registry entry we can edit or something.
If you're running the newest version of Touch, then run the Network Setup Wizard in the Communication settings tab in the Settings folder. If set up correctly, weather updates should function as normal.
spb weather works for me...
Installing this over the one that came in the PDAViet roms worked great:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329222
Now I use TouchIt with Wings and it works perfectly out of the box.
weatherpanel works flawlessly

Do you mean the weather update works thru T-mobile proxy ?
I am having trouble using the weather in HTC Home. My internet explorer and other applications works fine with wi-fi and 3G. But the weather in the HTC always says unable to retrieve. Is the web server which the HTC Home connects to is down or something? Can someone help me. I tried reinstalling HTC Home. I am using the original ROM comes with the Tilt.
A server must be down as my weather quit loading a couple of days ago. Have not been able to figure out what is wrong.
The only time I have had problems was when going through a proxy server. Other than that it has always picked up the weather, right now for instance.
I've been having the same problem. The issue started a few days ago and I've been unable to get weather updates. I had no problems with it before the other day. I have the Tilt with the HTC Home Plugin and the Home Customizer and have tried using both the default database and the custom database.
Any ideas?
Mine hasnt been able to update in te past couple days either. Internet connectivity is fine tho.
Mine stopped working this past weekend also. It must be a server deal. Does anyone know what site it gets the updates from?
Mine works fine in Milwaukee, ATT stock tilt with HTC Home plugin.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347621
you need to download the latest patched htc home cabs from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319187
the old method of using an altered host entry for accuweather no longer works, and all versions of the htc home used this method to pull data. the app has been patched and there are new instructions to get your weather working again.
I has the same issue until I followed the instructions in the thread I just mentioned.
Do you think it may be the HTC Home Customizer app and the method that it uses to get around the original restrictions of the HTC Home? If so, then I myself would appreciate an update to the Home Customizer App, cuz thats really the easiest way to get the Weather working in cities and rural areas not listed in the original weather app.
I have an European version of the Kaiser/TyTnII which I loaded Remote Desktop for WM6. I connect to my VPN using this after entering through SonicWall using Sonic's Pocket GVC. When connected I find that I can't use certain keyboard keys (both screen and thumboard) and others I can only use in Caps mode. Has anyone heard of this issue?
Thanks.
I had a similar problem some time ago. I was pretty clear to me that it had something to do with the keyboard mappings which weren't identical on the Kaiser and my computer(keyboard). I have no idea if there is a better solution out there, but this is how I fixed it:
Solution: Add support for a second keyboard mapping to your OS
Go to 'Control Panel'
Go to 'Regional and Language Options'
Go to the second tab 'languages' and click on 'details'
Choose 'Add'
Add 'English (United States)' and click 'Ok'
Close the opened windows.
In the taksbar you should see now a blue button with 2 letters in it. These letters represent the keyboard mapping you are using. By clicking on it you can change the keyboard layout.
Next time when you connect via Remote Desktop with your Kaiser, use your Kaiser to change the keyboard layout by clicking on the button and altering the keyboard layout. When you're finished, just click on it again and change your keyboard layout back to the original.
Hope this helps!
Thanks, i will give that a try.
VPN to SonicWall ?
I also have a European version of the Kaiser/TyTnII with WM6 Prof and I want to connect to a SonicWall TZ170. I tried Sonicwall's Pocket GVC but I could not install in on wm6 (not supported).
Could you give me more details about how you made the vpn connection the Sonicwall?
Thanks
VPN to SonicWall
I have the same problem with my HTC Touch Diamond (WM 6.1).
I can't find a VPN client. The one I tried only works with Windows CE Pocket PC 2003.
Anyone has found a solution to the problem?
Thanks
hello i am a new one here
i lived in hong kong and the latest version is 2.03
http://www.htc.com/hk-en/SupportDown...at=2&dl_id=489
However i got a problem, when i was connected my msn with HSDPA, i can't use opera to browse other web site, as opera said the connection is occupied by another application
i have asked the maintence center in HK, they said since the rom of 1.93 onwards, HTC added a bandwidth lock in it, such that if they bandwidth is not enough, only one application can work
the only solution is to downgrade to rom 1.34 ( which i am using and working now), but i would like to ask if there is anything to change in the registry to disable the bandwidth lock?
thanks
can anyone help me to solve it?
