hi, is there a way to automatically make the phone switch to silent or vibrate during appointment times? say if i have an appointment in my calender, is there a way to make the phone switch itself to silent or vibrate when its time for the appointment? thanks
I believe SPB Phone Suite can do what you require but it's not freeware and I don't know of a free alternative.

Manilla Settings tab - Sound - I have "automatically" profile there.
It allows automatically turn sound off during appointments
I use phoneAlarm, it does exactly what you want. There was a free trial when I first started using it, would've thought it'd still be the same.
It's not free but it's not that expensive either and pretty much set and forget.
Details at www.pocketmax.net
PS. I use the AllRock3 theme, fits in nicely with the HTC theme

try sbsh phone weaver, run over TF3D and don´t need today plugin .
The other softs requires the today plugin, for auto profile switcher.

hey guys is there anyway to set it up where my phone only downloads my emails during set hours? i'm sick of waking up in the middle of the night cuz i just inherited $5 million dollars from my long lost ancestor in nigeria....
in active sync you can change the time interval and time to connect like 10 til 18.00 rest by hand
hey, sorry but i still dont get it. you mean i should go to activesync on my comp while my phone is connected? i did that and didnt see any settings for limiting the number of hours my phone downloads emails... please clairify. thanks
omar
One thing I do so it doesn't wake me up at night is disable the notifications. I just remember to check my mail during the day. I don't need to get buzz/alarm each time a mail comes in. If you want to try this do the following:
Start -> Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications
From the drop down tab select "Messaging: New e-mail message" and you can set the type of alarm you get. I just disable everything.
If you're using Active Sync to sync you mail (I don't, I use IMAP) you can setup a schedule as the previous post states. Just go to ActiveSync, click on Menu and there's an option for Schedule.
I understand your frustrations with this, but rather than limiting the download, why not limit the notifications. What I found and installed was PhoneWeaver from SBSH.net. This is an automatic profile changer. With this you can specify when and what notifications are set and how loud they are. For me, I have it set to be on vibrate while during work hours, silent at night, and full ring all the rest of the time. For me, this works great.
Hope this helps.
Good suggestions, thanks. I have a 17 year old son that goes out on the weekends and I want to have my phone ring if he needs me. But I have three email accounts and several google notifications that send me a lot of emails. Middle of the night waking up to an email blows.
When I travel, I have been just putting the Kaiser into flight mode, but that doesn't let my wife phone me during an emergency. So, disabling notification before I go to bed in those situations makes a lot of sense.
For those wondering which one it is, it's the last icon on Home and last icon on the top. I never realized this option until now. But how do i access the scheduling of ring/vibrate?
It's linked in with your WM calender. When you're in an appointment it'll vibrate and when you're not it'll ring. I'd be happier if it did the opposite as when I'm at work I could do with a louder tone, but still. I guess it's handy for some people.

Hmm, is it possible to change the settings whether you would want it to still ring on a certain appointment?
I prefer Phone Alarm for this function.

This feature is built directly into WM6 Standard. On Standard, the automatic profile would still ring if the appointment is marked as "Free." However, the HTC Home automatic profile will still mark "Free" appointments as vibrate. I have yet to figure out how to get it to do otherwise.

Has anyone figured out how to NOT switch the phone to vibrate on "free" appointments but on all others? It is quite annoying for me if the phone switches to vibrate, especially on all day birthday events.

It's frigging annoying. Even though I set the all day appointment as "free", it still goes to vibrate mode. Nearly all of my appointments are all day events. Hence I can't use the automatic mode. Damn!
If i disabled touchflo, where can you enable this option ?
Does anyone know how to assign different ringing profiles on the Tilt?
My old phone, I have different settings for a Loud Ring, Soft Ring, etc.
The reason is that I have my Tilt checking my emails every 30 minutes and it sucks when at 3 am I get a ringing from a junk email that I received.
I know that in the HTC Home for the ringer, there are 4 choices - Standard, Silent, Vibrate and Automatic....what is the automatic for?
Any advise/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Someones got to know the answer to this question. .....

I **LOVE** the Automatic Profile.
When you set the phone to Automatic the Profile is on Normal UNLESS your calendar contains an appointment that you have marked as "Busy". Whenever a 'busy' appointment happens the phone AUTOMATICALLY switches to the "Vibrate" profile for the duration of the meeting. Then, it switches back to Normal.
I love it!
I'm good at remembering to turn my sounds off during appointments.....but I never remember to turn them back on again!!!

Hm....for some reason it also changes to vibrate even if the appointment mentions that I am free...
Dear All,
I have a unique problem with my HTC TyTn II for which I tried searching but without any luck.
1) What is the difference between Normal and Automatic Sounds? When I try to change the ringtone in automatic, it also changes in Normal.
2) How do I change or create a new profile?
3) For instance I am setting an alarm, If I put my mobile in silent, it just flashes light but doesnt sound the alarm. I normally like to turn off sound completely for phone calls and sms when sleeping to avoid disturbance. How do I achieve only alarm sound without phone calls and sms sounds?
Thank you very much in advance.
Suree
P.S. Sorry if this is a double post.
Automatic mode switches between normal and silent depending on whether your calendar shows as busy - so the ringtone will stay the same - as auto means normal when you are free.
There are third party profile management apps - otherwise simply put the phone in flight mode when you sleep - then alarm will work but the device will not receive calls/texts/emails.
Thank you unwired. Really appreciate your quick answer, can you please point me to some free profile management software please?
Also, are there any 3rd party apps for setting ringtones to all contacts? Thanks again.

Can't help you with the profile management since I don't use them...
For your contacts, there is a field in each one that allows you to select a custom ringtone for that person. Just tap Edit while looking at the contact.
Just turn your phone function off at night. No annoying late night "I'm drunk can you come pick me up *barf*" calls.
Every night I switch the phone profile to 'Vibrate' and every morning back to 'Normal' - is there an app that can do this automatically?
/Carl
Spb phone suite. It is not free, but as other spb products, it's very good. You can assign profiles based on time, charging, etc. I wish it could change profiles based on gps location, but it doesnt.
Does it work with Diamond?
How about something better.
Set your sound profile to 'automatic' (manilla/settings/sound/automatic.
Now just set an event in your calendar and set it as 'Busy'. During these events your phone will be on vibrate. Set a re-occuring event to do it at the same time each day.
Try this?
Works with TD

Try the app SBSH PhoneWeaver...
This App is great, 'cause you can manage sound profiles according to time or agenda or manual...
