Playing WMV on Windows Mobile 6 ?

My WMV files ( Microsoft web-casts ) only play the audio on my Kaiser. I got an answer at the MS groups that somebody's device actually shows the video aswell.
Doesn't work for me using the built-in Windows Mobile 6 player.
OHHHH MICROSOFT

WMP skins/ WMP instead of HTC Player in TF3D

In other WM ppc we used to install WMP skins in program files\Windows media player folder. In T-Diamond it doesn't show up. Can any body provide details as to change WMP SKIN
WMP instead of HTC player in TF3D? Is it possible?
Skins disabled in WM Player?
Further to the above,
I too am dropping WM skins in to the Media Player folder, however, when I browse for the skins in Media Player, the Next and Previous buttons are greyed out. either indicating that media player cant see the skins (though it sees the default skin in the same folder) OR the ability has been locked out.
I'm running an O2 Ignito.
So - is their a reg key to enable skins, if this is indeed the issue?

How to view recorded videos on pc or Xbox 360?

So when I record videos on my Tilt it records in mp4 format. How can I convert them to something Windows Media Player can play on a pc (or an Xbox 360 can play on the tv)?
In order to play them on my pc I just rename the file from "video.mp4" to "video.3gp". It gives me a warning message that the file may become unstable or might not play, but I have not had a problem yet. Also I use quicktime to play the file on my pc after I have renamed it to 3gp format, WMP still won't play it. Quicktime wouldn't play it in mp4 format, but will if its named 3gp. Be sure to keep a backup of the file in the original mp4 format, just in case, it never hurts to have a copy of the original. If your stuck with just WMP then I am sorry, I have no clue.
Yeah, the Xbox 360 uses WMP, so Quicktime isn't an option for me.
I am trying to stream something from my PC to my Xbox 360 (and displayed on my tv).
I would think that since I am using Microsoft Windows Mobile to record the video that it would be compatible with a Microsoft Xbox 360. But then again, we all know how great the Microsoft MSN service works in Microsoft Outlook, so I guess this isn't surprising.
They really need to get it together at Microsoft. If they could make their left hand work with their right hand they would have a pretty nice body. But as is they don't have a body, they have a bunch of body parts that aren't connected.
It's ridiculous to me that a top of the line PDA phone running a Microsoft OS can record pretty decent quality videos, but can't play them on Microsoft's flagship multi media device- the Xbox 360, and can't even play them on Microsoft's own Windows Media Player.
/rant. Hopefully somoene knows a workaround...
I think if you go to Micro-soft web site , then to down loads, you can get a add-on that will do what you are looking to do
I look around and see if I can find a link for you..
you could do a google search for the MP4 codec that's the codec I use most often on the Microsoft Zune its accually a higher quality of video I think. Also if your using windows vista theres a free codec package out there that has just about every codec you could ever want when I get home i'll post you some links
The reason it wont play on the Xbox 360 is because it uses an audio codec that the Xbox dosent suport according to the software I got it says the audio codec our phones record in is "samr: ARM Narrowband"

How to stream with Windows Media Encoder 9?

Hello technical pros,
I`d like to stream videos with Windows Media Encoder 9 to my Touch Pro connected to my home network via WLAN.
There's no problem to view the streamed videos on another PC i.e. with windows media player or VNC pointing to http://[my_IP]:8080. But neither the Touch Pro's Windows Media Player nor the HTC Streaming Media Player can do. Maybe they expect a asx-file or a stream on rtsp-Protocol?
Does anyone know, how to make this work?
By the way: I have no sling box (or want to buy one), and although I'm using Orb for external streaming I want to use the Windows Media Encoder. VNC 0.8.6 ist not flexible enough and the actual VNC crashes on my Server-PC.
Alternative: Does anyone know a tool for on-the-fly 1-pass recoding to H.264-MP4* and streaming to the TP?

....
Click to collapse
the little trick with Windows Mobile devices is, you must call the stream like
"mms://ip-addressort/*" (the "*" on the end is required)
you can check this link: mms://live.radioYpsilon.at:80/* - our little Radiostation has one stream with Media Encoder - on my Touch pro works the stream only if I use the asterisk on the end....
