this time I ported tf2d to x1
tf2d was made working on Raphael by sztupy. And ported from there to WVGA by me.
It still needs alot of work, but im not sure if its worth the effort.
That is why I release this thread with a xperimental rom to play with, to see if ppl wants this application.
If many enough wants this, I will work more on it.
I dont need reports on in.ex audiomanager dont fit screen and stuff like that, those will be resized when and if I continue work on this

what is different to you other ROM IT-Xperience 3.5?
Both blue and black are equally good, in my humble opinion. Wouldn't it be great if we can switch from blue to black and vice versa when we feel like it? I flashed the 3.51 rom, and installed the original black manila skin. Now I cannot change it back. Lol nvm black works fine.
Anyway, if there are advantages of M2D over tf3d (such as faster performance etc etc), then it would be worth trying.

i never tested m2d on a wvga screen but on my wizard (qvga 195mhz) it performs really well scrolling between screens is smoother and the quick dialer is much more usful then tf3d. tf3d looks better though

mm, yea possibly..but it will take quite some work...easier to cook it.

yeah, Its basicly same as 3.5.
but after customization, you need to manually reset device, It dont reset itself, other then that, it should work out.
but m2d is still in very early stages, but its an ok app.
Im more into tf3d, I would like to have footprints, but im sure that will be implemented in next versions of tf3d, we just have to wait for it

I was hoping that a ROM cooker would consider TF2D instead of TF3D, purely from a performance point of view. I've tried TF3D using cabs and I thought the phone felt more sluggish than before. If TF2D is less resource intensive then I'll gladly sacrifice some eye-candy for a more responsive application.

its not so responcive as you might think, tf2d is using high amounts of recourses.
I cooked this rom to test how it is, its not ready for daily use as it is now, I need to work alot on it if it is to be used on a daily basis

nah, have not tried, and it will aquire alot of work making it wvga in the first place
forgive my noobishness but how come m2d and tf3d work so much better and faster when cooked rather than cabbed? that would make a cabbed version quite usless
are there any practical ways of making the manually installed or cabbed versions work as well as the cooked version?

Installing the CABbed version can be done without HARD_SPL-ing and flashing the phone. Installing a CAB can be considered safer, and gives no problem with the manifacturer warranty.
That's why some people (including me until last month...) often prefer to use a slower but safer CAB version.

yeah, maybe your right. And maybe I am
But as far as I know, the main diffrence in hardware is the keyboard, for some weird reason. My guess.....The wing is not properly "wired"
Even a the wing rom I made, that is based built on kaiser os, with all drivers and functionality from wing dont work on your device, but for some reason it works like hell on my p4350. Touch-IT for wing v2 is the fastest most responcive and stable os (besides my new norwegian rom witch up to now is my best) I have put on my phone, It even had some software im working on to put in my p4350 roms.
Only issue was the keyboard, but I had no problem at all reconfigure that back to normal.
Other then that, if I was to use a wwe rom personally, I would go for Touch-IT for wing v2. All the issues you guys have with it, I have none. And that is not just something I say, I was quite amazed that it worked so well.
But now im digging into ext.rom, and Im working on trying to have a option that after you flash the os, and the ext. rom starts, you can either soft reset to get p4350, or wing if you let ext rom install. But im not sure I can make it work as I want.
The idea is picked up from tom codons transformer os. where you can choose touch functionality, or just a clean vanilla rom.
ANd there is also the option with diffrent languages.
But I wish I could have found a way that would work similar to vista or xp, where you can choose from many languages.....maybe thats far fetched...lol
Now im at a point where I want to take my cooking to another "level" not just make "another" touch-wanna-be-device.
The one thing I have noticed is that many, after having in.ex the cube, finds it obsolete, if thats a good word to describe it. But many likes the touchflo.
So Im also working on making a touchrom, without the cube. But all I plan for takes mutch time, witch for the moment I dont have plenty off. My job demands pretty mutch, Im working aprox 15-20 hrs overtime every week, and sometimes saturdays and sundays too. And I am a musician, I play guitar, and that is a big part off who I am, so that takes time as well. And ofcourse my famely
I want to do mutch, but my time needs to be portioned out correctly
But I hope to do atleast some of the stuff I want to in a reasonable time. My next priority now is to build a new one for wing, and try to sort out some of the bugs that you guys get, for some strange reason. But its not easy, since it works so well on my herald, but you guys have diffrent bugs. So you see, fixing bugs on a wing rom, its quite a challenge for me, depending on feedback and help. If you want bugs fixed, you have to help me find out why the bugs happen, and even present me a sollutuion on how to fix it, cause you have a wing, I dont

Yeah theres definitely some inernal differences between the wing and herald. The Touch-it 2.0 really flies on mine, but i guess the wing is consistently inconsistent.

But the thing is that translating the diffrent apps, consumes alot of time. I want to do this "all the way" as much as I can though..
Some of the apps I have tried to translate, just wont work, like in.ex networkwizard. but im working on it..

If you want to cook it into a ROM you would need an OEM of TouchFlo3D not a cab....

You would have a great deal of trouble cooking TF 3D into a rom, especially as a noob to cooking. The port is still unstable and very buggy and filled with work arounds.
This is currently the most popular rom with TF3d cooked in and you can see all the work arounds

Look at roms with M2D or the install tutorial in my sig. It is the same thing only 2D instead of 3D, but just like the picture.

One has two dimensional graphics and the other has three dimensional graphics.
But generally they are the same
And in turn, one runs nice and stable on the Kaiser and the other is very buggy.

Check the software section of the Kaiser forum. TouchFlo 2D is a sticky and has plenty of information and downloads for TF2D
U can get a very cool and super smooth M2D from PdaConer ultimate rom =)

There wont be a full working cab with manila, there are to much other packages that needs to be installed or rather cooked, that now is tightly integrated in manila. And to install all that stuff via cabs will be way to much.
The mods will be available as a cab, but can only be installed on top of a system that has wm6.5 and manila 2.5 (newer versions) allready cooked in.
And stock SEUS 6.1 roms will most likely not work as this is build around a 6.5 system.
And besides, this system has a very high system load, its very heavy on ram.

Wow, full landscape support on Manila 2.5 - sounds exciting...
The only feature I will miss is Smabergs actionscreen, which saves a lot of time making notes, appointments etc.
Maybe sometimes you two get together with smaberg - this would be the perfect team for perfect roms !

I made this ROM for one reason only, i got one million requests on it.
This is a 100% stable and MAX TWEAKED Swedish ROM with WM 6.1 and original manila 2.1 with background on all pages built in and 4 icons in a row start menu. i included the most "wanted" applications.

i must say that i had been using the tmobie us rom and was happier with it that any 6.5 rom i have run. the one drawback, a big one, was the inability to turn the screen of while a media player was running without the sound turning off as well.
Mort, Nitrogen, S2P, all the good ones lost this functionality in the cooked 6.1 roms i tried, which was mind numbing because my old tmobile wing could do this and so could the original touch pro.
i have been all over this forum advocating for this and letting everyone hear about it, when i had the time, and have yet to see it addressed. i would cream in my pannts and donate to get this working... seriously!
and yes, i would love to see your rom(with the above mentioned functionality) in wwe!

You can turn off the screen while listening to music only if you have the headset plugged in. This way it will keep playing music.

thanks for the help but i tried this already. it seems to function only with the auidio manager which is a resource hog and does not play all file types. i need nitrogen, s2p, mortplayer and others(like coreplayer, if wanted) to have this functionality.
i have tried all regisrty edits i could find and no luck. this is/was a simple function that my old phones can do(wing, tp1).

you are not alone, I have the same problem. In 6.1 roms I can use for music playing with switch of screen with headset only the WM player. All other playaers, nitrogen, coreplayer and also the T3D player stop working if I switch the screen off.

whats funny is i get so many responses on what to try and i have already tried everything but i dont think everyone has tested to see what i have described. so they all are being nice and giving recommendations but not checking for the bugs i described.
its a major flaw in my opinion.

x2 feelin really left out here I wish someone would just take the manila 2.5 files from one of the roms and build a diamond rom with it added. I would do it myself but pretty sure i wouldnt be succesful.

I'm not sure which ROMs you have developed, but I for one am not the best ROM developper, I would love if someone would make a new diamond ROM with your manila files.
I made a post in the gsm forum hopfully one of those chefs will help us.
i ripped all the contents of the tp manila 2.5 rom if someone smarter then me knows how to cook it into a diamond rom let me know n ill give you the files this whole everyone gets a 2.5 rom but us **** is rediculous. So if u wanna build one let me know
I've cooked up a ROM using WM 6.5.1 and Manila 2.5... The only bug I've got in it is that I can't open the menu to configure the weather, but that isn't a big problem, since 2.5 can GPS your current location as a Weather place. I'm just stuck in fahrenheit (I'm Canadian, I learned Celcius as a kid ) but that's not a big deal. I'll upload now for anyone that's interested, suggestions are welcome!

wow awesome do you have screenshots by chance? And can anyone report if they have success flashing and this is for sure a cdma rom.

Yes, this is a CDMA ONLY ROM. Why else would I say "CDMA" in my last post, and post in the "CDMA" forum?
Does it include the new animated weataher from 2.5? also is there a way to change the clock skin so it looks like the other 2.5 ones with the weather in the middle?
That looks more like manila 2.1 with 2.5 icons. Manila 2.5 is an entirely different beast visually.

Well, I'll be damned, it IS just a modified version of 2.1 with a panoramic scolling background and Facebook integration... And GPS weather... New features to me, and the kitchen I'm using has it labelled as 2.5. Guess it lied, the About screen says 2.1.something... Sorry!

yeah the 2.5 has alot of new features one main one being it has the weather on the home screen clock and contact quick links but if someone wants to send me that ported version from the tp i can try and cook it into one of my roms with 6.1

I dont see what the big deal is everything coding wise can stay the same except just resize the images in manila and thats all, they can take the manila weater and home out of 2.5 and just stick em 2.1! at least unless im not overlooking a factor.

I downloaded the package cooked it into a ROM with Calkulin's Kitchen and I'm flashing my Diamond right now to see if it will work. I will do some testing and give some more feedback soon.

tried the same thing had no luck tried to cook it in with 6.1 never got past the load screen after flash gonna try with 6.5 see if that works someone on ppc got some progress with that but like nothing works but still its something ill post a link as soon as there site wants to work again

Mine did the same thing, but OMJ at PPCGeeks seems to have got it working using the same package. I'm running it now, and it is great, a few minor bugs but once they port it 100% I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I thought it would be slow and glitchy but so far it's as fast as 2.1 Here's the link: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=94369
Jizzo ROM has integrated manila 2.5 into it now, but I haven't got to test it because I'm on vacation, but it looks pretty good.
EnergyRom has Manila 2.5 for CDMA Diamond (Victor)

I have tried the 23081 Standard and 21864 Standard M2.5 on Telus Diamond. Both are fast and a huge improvement over stock rom. The M2.5 looks the better of the two but has one problem with only recognizing 40MB Program Storage.
If anyone else tries these, please post results.
