I realize the TP has a mute feature where you can flip it over and it will mute the ring. Something I always have thought it lacked was a feature to mute the microphone on the current call you are on.
This comes in handy to those of us that have to make a lot of calls to different 1800 lines and you want to say bad things about the people on the lines. Or you know, when you need to flush the toilet and don't want the girlfriend to know. Waking up the device and hitting mute is a pain because the mute button is somewhat close to that big END CALL button of doom, which yes, I have accidentally done on a few important calls.
This seems like something that could be easy to implement, if I had any idea of where to start I would. Even if you had to run a program first to enable it, it'd still be a worthwhile tool

Is there any way to disable the answer button? I know how that sounds, but I carry my Wing in my pocket, and nearly every time I hear it ring and pull it out, I've either inadvertently answered it, or ignored it. I guess what I'm looking for is something that makes me press 2 buttons, or something to answer it. If I had any coding skills at all, I'd disable the answer softkey and the green phone, then write a little app that gives you two on screen buttons, and two pick up the call, you have to hit one, then the other.
Perhaps there is a better solution to my problem, or software already, but I'm yet to find it.
Hi All
I recently lost my ringtone and found a solution on here, so all is fine.....EXCEPT when the phone rings, the ringtone disappears when the scroll wheel (if that's what it's called) is moved.
Has anyone else come across this problem and if so found a fix???
The phone carries on ringing silently if I move the wheel, it's just the sound that disappears and that's obviously not very good if it's in my pocket!!
I've tried pressing all the other buttons when it's ringing to see if they make the sound disappear but they don't, it's only the wheel
Any one got any ideas????
Thanks
That's not a bug.
That's a feature...
My TyTN1 did that.
My P3600 did that.
My TyTN2 Does that.
It's the only way of making the phone go QUIET without canceling the call.
Quite usefull actually....
Honestly!!??
It's a feature??
How do I turn it off????
I like that feature very much, too. When someone calls and I don't want to talk to them I just hit the scroll wheel to silence the call but let it continue ringing for them. That way they don't know I'm ignoring them. I can plausibly be out of range of my phone or some other excuse. If you press the end key or hit "ignore" on the phone screen it sends the call immediately to voicemail and the person on the other line can tell they've been actively ignored...
I don't know if it's possible to turn it off.
ive always found it usefull. but sometimes it can be annoying as OP said when its in your pocket

The beginning of every sad story I've heard about screen cracks and phone damage, has always begun with , Well the phone was in my pocket and..............
When I pull my phone from it's padded holster I always look at the caller id first and do not wish to disturb other people while I decide. I appreciate the feature
I'm guessing it's a feature that can't be turned off then
I have no idea if this is normal as this is my first Sony Android phone...
When I make phone calls and the guy or girl I am speaking too speaks to me the back of the phone has slight vibrations in time with their speech which is a very weird sensation and it feels almost as if the speaker is working overtime and hitting the back of the phone.
I have looked through the settings for sound and calls and turned stuff on and off but it has made no difference the only thing which seems to work is to turn the volume right down but then it's hard to hear what they are saying.
Is there anyway to keep the voice clear and loud from the person I am speaking to without the back of the phone vibrating under my fingers every time they speak?
i have the same thing. Not sure what it is
I use the phone a lot handsfree for work and it bugs me when the screen times out and locks on a handsfree call. I can't then easily mute, unmute, look at call durations, enter digits etc. without interacting with the phone in a clunky manner.
As an example i might be on a long conference call on speakerphone, mute my audio input to get up and walk around a little and then have to quickly unmute. To do this i have to press the side volume button and then the on screen unmute which sounds easy but can make for an awkward second or so of silence.
Basically i want the screen to stay on when in call and the proximity sensor detects it's not against my face.
Samsung has a phone app option for this i remember (keep screen on during calls).
Any suggestions ?

Use a bluetooth earpiece/headset and add that as a trusted device. All the time it is on and connected the phone won't lock. Then just set screen sleep to something more appropriate like 5 minutes..
you could try something like this:

i haven't tried it, but i think it could solve your problem
EDIT: i just tried an app called "WaveUP" and it did the trick. also has a lot of other cool features, as well.
Does anybody elses phone keep switching itself right up to max?
It's happened since day 1 and is truly frustrating. I keep turning it down to medium volume and leave it on the desk then out of nowhere the notification or ringtone blows my eardrums! I think it has something to do with after receiving a call.
Or thinking about it, I have been getting a lot of nuisance calls lately so press vol- to mute it while I search if it is a known nuisance or not, perhaps that might have something to do with it? Can someone confirm?
Try disabling the Pocket mode. Here is how
