Keyboard skin WM6.1

Hey guys!
This is not a biggy, i want to change my keyboard skin from the crystal blue, to crystal green. When i install it (.cab) it still gives me the blue keyboard?
Im on C_Shekhar's WM6.1 ROM the b version!

(Does WM 6 use a different cab or something??)

i also want customize the color of my keyboard, can it be done?

im running Vista so i cant use Wince cab mnager to create CAB file..but i will see if i can do it on bro's pc

Aah it is registry values for certification check. You can run that using any registry editor. Even by using Dotfred's TaskManager. I have created a cab for yhose who are not comfortable with registry editors...

I tried this tips on my PDA-ETEN X650 With WM6.1 from Pdaviet V03, after that soft reset.....and still the same ugly keyboard....can you help me?

anyone have the cab file for the dialer thats in hyperdragons new rom? my friend saw my dialer in the rom and he wants it

i would really love to see this too. its called PhoneCanvas. i have the OEM but i dont know what registry keys i would need to make it a cab...
anyone wanna help?

All the registry keys needed should be in the RGU file. I think it needs more then the PhoneCanvas though, probably the _409 folder along with some other .dll's to work properly.
Just my two cents.!

yeah i made a cab and it doesnt install. maybe i should put whatever is the in _409 folder...

canvas are just a part of it.
could u post screenshots or links to PICs of that dialer?

If its the dialler in the screenshots for HyperDragon Manila2D version its the opal dialler and its a bit more complicated than just a skin coz there are sliding menus and a slider for ignoring the call.

I've been looking for this cab also. I had the Hyperdragon rom but I couldn't get my MMS working so I switched to NATF 2.2 and it's been great. I just would like a different dialer than the standard ATT one.

PhoneCanvas, Smart Dialing and VideoTelephony
these dlls been responsible:
ddcall.dll
DPadMenu.dll
phcanhtc.dll
phcanOverbmp.dll
phcanrc.dll
smartdialing.dll
HTC3GVT.dll
HTC3GVTStack.dll
VTKey.exe
contactcmd.exe
and 200 of pics and wav
check these dlls and if it's the same, will give u list of reg & bmps to grab

ok, that's just phone canvas. you will need at last those 2 other.
i would search through all rgus on phone for Smart Dialing and VideoTelephony. but it's not worth the time when there already is oem.

Here's Opal Phone Canvas (Dialer 2G) tested on Romeos 4.6.0
I've started fresh, and had problems installing my cab it with phcanOverBMP.dll included even when it's not installed on the ROM.
So I've made two cabs one with it included one without, if you have phcanOverdmp.dll installed, you should be able to rename it and copy the new one over the top. Then install the cab with it missing.
If somebody knows how to fix the cab with it included, could you please fix it as i'm not sure what to do.

Edit: I cannot not uninstall it for some reason.

I'm guessing the reason it doesn't uninstall is that the dll's the the cab are in use and windows can't remove them while they are loaded.

Ring and Vibrate Stops
I love this dialer but installed on Hyperdragon III (see my signature) and lost volume and vibrate. Plus, I wasn't able to uninstall it. had to do a hard reset to get them back. Am I alone with this?

Any chance of a black skin version of this?

Could I ask you also skin the received/dialed/missed call icons as well? I hope it's not too much to ask.
P.S. Re-confirmed: cannot be uninstalled, u need to hard reset to change it.

had same issue. and it didn't matter if it was installed before or after any other customizations were made.

I've made some changes above, and phcanOverbmp.dll includes the call log icons.
I'm sort getting tried of all the hard reset's that I've done in the last few days and it seems to work fine on my Romeos 4.6.0 apart from the dialpad sounds, but they are not included in the phonecanvas package so I removed them from the cabs.

thanks for the effort! might be a manila issue and won't work unless cooked in. I love the dialer but if I can't hear the phone ring, defeats the purpose of the phone (and all the cool ringtones I've created! )

Manila 2.5 on build 23047

Could someone please help me in the right direction, if i cook manila 2.5 onto 23047 rom, it looks like manila needs to be 'shifted' up a bit to compensate the start being at the bottom. how do i do this?

png icon best size will be 90x90, although 128x128 will work too!
2 or 3 shortcuts, might be issue with shortcuts in initflashfiles and registry.

manila create one settings shortcut in start menu.. so thats overwrite the standar settings button on start menu..
after that you can go to settings menu- personal - system -connection...

When TF3D is running it takes over the settings menu shortcut...I tried looking for a way around that but have not found it yet. Maybe if I look more I can find...

You need from the LEO OEMs geoservice and gps/gmm stuff. It's still working here under WM 6.1; but I haven't found the correct dependencies for aGPS.

aGPS is not working, do you get the service is not enabled by provider? Something like that?

Editing Manila File

Does anyone know how to edit the 47dd6acd_manila file so that default WM threaded messaging appears instead of HTC messaging when you click on a message in the SMS tab?
I found a modified file for Diamond, but the resolution is obviously different.
What tools would I need to do this?
Any advice, or even better (the modified manila file) would be greatly appreciated.

hey any updates on this? I'd like to have the default threaded messaging appear as well in TF3D when u click on a message...it's much faster and reliable...that way i wont have to click on "all messages" anymore....hate the manila one

found this while doing some searching...credit goes to krzysiec for this...take note it only works for manila 2.1 (works also with the new 2.1.19.19/htc sense)...it's awesome!!! it takes you right to the default WM messaging when u click on a message instead of the manila one...no more disorganized messages!! it's also much faster

This is my first thread & skin and I'm proud of giving this to the XDA community.
Supported Resolutions: VGA, WVGA & soon QVGA support
FEATURES:
Portrait & Landscape.
Uninstallable. (Search for Gore_Darkside WMP GTX Skin in Remove programs)
Mostly based on PNG images.
HOW-TO INSTALL:
Copy the cab file attachment on you device/storage card/internal memory.
Run/Install the skin cab. NOTE: If you have already installed version 1.0 please uninstall & soft reset first
PLEASE restart if asked
Open WMP and enjoy
CHANGELOG:

BUG: Fixed minor position bug in Pause/Stop images.
NEW: Added stars rating image -GTX style- (see picture attachments).
OTHER: Renamed internal files.

This theme is based on [App/Skin] Windows Media Player 12 for Pocket PC (VGA, WVGA, QWVGA, QVGA) from our friend bogy16 but with a totally GTX look and feel based on Guide for Creating GTX Styled Skins from ElCondor and the GTX team (thanks guys!).
A big thanks to IABovine for QuickCab 2.0 Cab Creation Utility, the old an new GTX team, to bogy16 for his Windows Media Player 12 skin in many resolutions and ervius for his Package creator v2.7 (sorry if I missed somebody). Without their work this theme have been never created or even crossed my mind.

Gimme some time and I will do it. These themes (qvga/wvga) will be beta, because I don't have devices with those resolutions to test them.
EDIT: Not beta anymore, found how to use the device emulator (yes, i'm new)

this might be the only reason for me to ever use WMP. Can you make the menus touch friendly as well like all music and stuff.

that looks very interesting. Will test it, for shure because i am the GTX hardliner.
My question about volume control is solved.

i will change the cab file, because i hate it to install
all the stuff in the main memory . I will publish the
things for the registry where you can see how to do that.
Install on storage card, change registry and the have fun.
Registry settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Skins]
"LastLandscapeSkin" = "\Storage Card\Application Data\Windows Media Player\wmp_WPC_player_640x480.skn"
"LastPortraitSkin" = "\Storage Card\Application Data\Windows Media Player\wmp_WPC_player_480x640.skn"
and for WVGA (if this is to download):
..\..\wmp_WPC_player_480x800.skn
..\..\wmp_WPC_player_800x480.skn
Then the skin will be running from the storage card. You have to change the path to your storage
card (Language dependend). Ok, you have also to create the directories on the card ;-).

i'd been using fRED's Manila WMP but this looks to be better integrated - thanks for making it

I would like also to put the skins in Storage, but I need more help in order to put the theme in the storage card/internal store: How can I put a language independent registry setting string that change with ROM language, device, etc., something like "LastPortraitSkin" = "\{storage}\Application Data\Windows Media Player\wmp_WPC_player_480x640.skn"?? I know there must be a way OR we can make the theme available for choose in WMP but not be set automatically.
What question about volume control you had? I can't find it.

WVGA version is ready! see 1st post. You can test it and share your experience. I have managed to test it on a wm6.5 WVGA emulator, and fixed everything i've find wrong.
