Is there a Dropbox Client for Android? - G1 Apps and Games

Is there a Dropbox Client for Android? I know that www.getdropbox.com/iphone works, but is there an actual app?

Not that I know of. I would like a client for Android, as well...

For a starter it would be good to at least have Dropbox as an option in send to (share) menu.

I bought Discover Pro from the market and found that it has a pretty decent Box.net feature. I'll email the developer and ask him to add dropbox support.

Good to know that there might be something out there. Though even if he added support for dropbox, I could not get the app till paid apps come to the UK.

I think that this support is available in the free version as well.

Does anyone have an update on this....?

I am using SugarSync and I am very happy with it...
there is a thread here:

Damn, do you know if an API is in the works?

I think they're preoccupied with kissing apple fanboys' a*ses by releasing new updates for iPhone app rather than doing something useful such as making an API.

Dropbox CLI Daemon?
Hello, I've also been trying to find a solution into synchronizing my files on Android with those on my PC.
I found this thread on Dropbox's forum:
http://forums.getdropbox.com/topic.php?id=2543
Would it be possible to get running the Dropbox daemon in a rooted phone ?
Cheers,

well, according to this thread, there's a closed beta on the API

Looks like Dropbox is hiring someone to work on the client:
Dropbox - Android Developer
http://dropbox.theresumator.com/apply/eq08Lm/
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead development and testing of a native Dropbox app for Android mobile devices.
* Depending on level of interest, potentially develop Dropbox apps for other mobile platforms, or assist in ongoing Dropbox API development.
* Stay abreast of all the latest Android SDK developments, and keep improving the app(s) in response to customer feedback & usability testing.
* Work with designer & product lead to determine the look-and-feel and functionality of the app(s).

I Syn my Dropbox folder usin Sugarsync... not the best way but it works.

i have just received this mail:
Have you ever wanted to use your Dropbox but didn't have a computer nearby? Dropbox's mobile website (http://m.dropbox.com) makes it happen. With Dropbox mobile, you can browse and open files in your Dropbox directly from your phone or mobile device's browser.
If you own an iPhone or iPod Touch, download the Dropbox App for an even better experience. It's free!
Do you own a Blackberry or Android phone? Don't worry! We've got plenty more mobile magic coming soon!
Happy syncing!
-The Dropbox Team

there's one called airlight drop or something like that

Bloo Facebook App

Bloo
Best mobile fb app I've ever used. Worth 1.50!
Best FB app. However no inbox access makes me a lil Also the notifications seems to be broken, no way to clear them, every time i open Bloo it shows the same notifications and i hate going to the browser to clear them, beats the purpose, plus m.facebook got a facelift recently. I will keep the app waiting on more development/improvements.
Just noticed the notification issue.
I'm sure that's an easy fix.

righ tnow im testing both babbler and bloo. lets see wich one i stick to. babbler has inbox so its winning at the moment. Bloo has a great UI though
He's just posted an updated version to the market fixing wall posting and tweaking notifications.
Pretty good start all round, and finally I've been able to get shot of FBook..
No error on the Notifications now.

not worth 150
Review for Bloo on AndroidCommunity.com
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?p=217452
So far Bloo has won. minus the errors it's got it's still got the best UI of it or Babbler. Not to mention Babbler is having a TON of force close issues for me and just all in all the UI on it is crap. There is a pic upload issue with 1.1.0 but the dev knows about it and is working on it (bloo that is not babbler)
Not a bad app thats only been out a day.

Thats why I think this app will be promising, it hasnt even been out for a day and he has released an update. There are some features missing, but IMO it was definitely worth the $1.50.
Good to hear it's getting positive reviews, I will definately have to buy! Ever since fbook I haven't bothered much with any facebook app.
I just came across this wonderful app that provides a native facebook client for android.
Tha app has been out for just 2 days and already is receiving great support from its developer with constant updates as new features are implemented and bugs are ironed out.
Although its a paid app the developer has been kind enough to provide an alternative method of purchasing the app to those that don't have access to google's paid market through slideme.org.
The app costs $1.49 and I can say its well worth every penny. I have been using it since morning with no problems what so ever.
The developer its quite active and promises new features with future releases. For more details refer to his blog: http://fbandroid.wordpress.com/
I believe we should support such developers that put a lot of effort in providing android with such great apps.
You are the dev!
Anyways, nice work and thanks for creating such a wonderful app.
I do suggest more though such as
- Being able to view your messages/reply.
- Being able to "poke" your friends.
- Etc.
hehehe no actually I'm not. Its just a coincidence. Actually Dimitris is a common name in Greece.
There is already a thread opened for Bloo.

[APP] WP7 3mktPlace v0.4

Hello,
I would like to share a windows app, kind of a parallel market for desktop that allows you to download almost any WP7 application, and convert it automatically into .XAP file.
But I don't know if it is ok with moderation so please mods let me know about it before I upload the .zip file.
Thanks.
sounds like a great way to finally be able to install the free netflix app, even if it is not listed in your marketplace...
Alex
there's already an program for this over in the general windows 7 dev section

This software lets you download any app from the market, including paid ones. Hence it is not allowed on xda.

Nope, this is a free app, but as said above, it can download any app, free or not, and convert it into .XAP.
So it can be considered as warez but it is not really one actually. Since it's able to grab free apps in .XAP file system, I though it was an interesting tool for finding rare .XAP apps...
But that is why I waited before posting any link, as the status of this app is rather vague, like in the grey area...
I think it's a free app. I've tried and works well.
Unfortunately, it seems it works for free and paid apps (honestly, haven't tried it, but read that it is possible). It is a pitty, because it won't be allowed on XDA and it is a great way to avoid all the trouble to get a live ID.
Well couldn't somebody mod it to only access the free ones?
There is also another software that does the same as this, both are by different devs. Would be great if we had a XDA dev work on it and release it with better/more stable functions.

That would be a great step for HD2 users.
not hard at all to activate
other than the activation code from Microsoft being location based, it is not hard what so ever to have WP7 be fully fuctional. i have zero issues down loading/accessing anything from windows live, market, zune. all the info to do so is here on the forums, and a 5 min call to Microsoft customer service. There was only two specific questions they asked 1. are u in the US, 2. what is the phone Brand. having all of the software set up properly, then entering that code gives full use. when i plugged into the Zune software after it recognized it as HD7....................been testing the crap out of it since. zero problems. take your time....put all the software in the right order, call to get a code...done....
sorry if the Microsoft activation code does not work for you based on location.. that blows
please be realistic
it is considered as cracking app to me, definitely not allowed here, period. It is everywhere in the Chinese forums, where they share all kind of cracked paid apps.
Yes, there's no distinction between free and paid apps. I've download to alternative browsers, not knowing they were paid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908293 - it seems to do the same thing, but only displays free apps. Should be sticky here.
Either way, bored of WP7, back to Android!
tried so many games and apps
apps are fine ! but no game is working except NFS !!!

what exactly does this program do? just crack paid apps?
it download paid apps for free therefore not allowed to be discussed on XDA.
I suggest any discussion stop unless your willing to suffer a suspension or a bann

Actually it only downloads the free apps aswell as trials, it doesnt directly download any full apps. What it does do also is edit the trial so its full on supported titles.
Well I wouldn't consider removing the trial limitation to full legal since its then a full app. Anyway carry on. Don't say no one told ya

[Request]Copilot

A big thanx for this, worked just fine moving from HD2 embeded CoPilot live 8 to Android! Even kept all my settings, including destinations as I was hoping since I use the same memory card!
Only thing to keep in mind is to deactivate your license on your "old" device first. Can also be done online at activate.alk.com. Sorry for the missing link, I'm not allowed to post links since I'm quite new here at xda.
@tomj777
thanks, i was looking for this aswell.
Very pleased to have helped. It's worth revisiting the link to see if there is a new version, as us ex-wm users do not benefit from the market notifications.

[APP REQ] Spotnet - Searching Usenet Files

I was wondering if someone would be able to create an app for the popular program Spotnet. This is a Dutch usenet-reader which is an alternative for FTD Usenet Threads. This is the only thing that's missing that i can't check on my HD2 running Android. This would be my Alltime favorite app for mobile time wasting ! I really hope somebody with the coding skills could help me out on this one, and I'm sure there are a lot of people who agree with me on this. Thanks in advance!
If you add this Google Feed ( http://groups.google.com/group/free.pt/feed/rss_v2_0_topics.xml?num=50 )to your RSS reader, you almost have a mobile client

Are there any Chromecast specific web sites out there?

I just got my Chromecast and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. But the downfall that I see is that there doesn't seem to be anything similar to the Roku Store as a central source of information about new apps that support the device or hacks or general news or whatever. And there doesn't seem to be a way to really search the Android Play Store for apps that support the device. Does anyone know of a blog or web site devoted to announcements of the latest apps that support Chromecast? Or is there maybe an Android app that curates the latest news?

Thanks. I'd seen that link early on before there was a lot of other stuff posted on it. I have subscribed to it now though. I'm looking for something akin to AndroidCentral or something like a Drippler app for Chromecast. Surprised that no one has even registered CromeCastCentral.com yet. It would be a great URL for a blog on the topic.

Seems like so much of the stuff out there is developer/hacker related or otherwise technical in nature and not oriented to the consumer yet. I'm sure it will come though. There just needs to be something with an RSS feed that announces firmware and hardware updates, tips and tricks, and new programs or apps that are now supporting Chromecast.

Cool! I think one needed tutorial is playlists. For example, how one can go about taking control from another device and changing what is playing versus adding to a play queue from another device. Even adding to a YouTube playlist from the computer is something I haven't figured out yet. Sending an entire YouTube playlist is fairly easy, but how do you add to it? How can someone ELSE add to it? IDK. But it is a perfect topic for a tutorial!
