I want to contribute a theme badly.
I've attempted to sign files, and Alt + S my theme but to be completely honest I'm not good at following tutorials. (i bricked it and had to re-flash). pft.
I wouldn't mind making a theme... as far as editing the images.
I have this so far (please do not take my idea as an advantage to make your own theme and recieve credit... if you'd like to release this with me, help me turn it into a theme)....

I can finish the theme... I just need help creating it (as far as signing/update.zip blah blah blah)...
So if you're interested in helping me, please message me and i'll provide all the resources (icons, bg, clock, etc) for us to make it a release .
This is not what I want the finale theme to look like.. it's just an idea.
Thanks y'all! <33

yes, lol.
vista home prem.
Just a little proposal, add some white dots on the clock, would make it a heck of a lot easier reading the time

i'll definitely do that.
I'm just trying to make it as universal as possible so it'll look nice with any kind of wallpaper.
Basically why i'm sticking to the greyscale.
Looks nice. I'll be waiting for it to come out.
then all you need to do is make sure you have java installed and download the auto-signer program that Stericson made for us to use. it's quite easy i'll go get a link and post the thread link here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473580&highlight=autosign
if you are still having issues after that then you can send me the "finished" theme and i will post it saying that you created the theme and i simply signed it
signing with vista prem is a pita, especially with a 64bit machine. I've never gotten it to work and stericson and I have spent time trying to get it to work when it won't. I have to do all my signing once a theme is built on my old xp machine. Might be why the op is having issues with signing
I have a 32bit vista laptop, but even then i just suck at tutorials.
I attempted to make the theme... and i ended up bricking my device.
I got it back up and running, so i'm scared to attempt again.
I'll follow the tutorial one last time and see if it works, and if not... then i'll upload the "finale release" and have it signed for it to be released.
I currently have a "coark board" concept in my head so i'll see if I can make several ideas to sumbit.

Well, I will personally donate $30 to anyone who can successfully modify a number of the beautiful themes already available on XDA. Just edit them for our 128DPI - 320x320 devices.
Who's up for a challenge? - If numerous people take this on, I'll split accordingly.
The few things that I ask:
1) These themes must compatible with 6.5.1.
2) Use some taste, there are some ugly ones
3) As bug free as humanly possible.
If you like my theme enough and can upload your "Classic Blue.tsk" and image files, I would do this (it's easy enough).
Here's the Classic Blue TSK/Files if needed...
SOUNDS interesting ...Livven and other Graphic Guys pls start working and make it CooL..
Cheers for all
lol, $30 is up for grabs... anyone...?
You could not know, but there are some more images in the \Windows\-directory which we need. They begin with "black_", "CheckBox", "ComboBox", "default_", "PushButton" and "RadioButton".
If you upload them as well, I'll do it tomorrow (perhaps ).
I apologize for the delay, I will upload them immediiiiately
here they are
Again, this is open for anyone willing to resize a few themes to QVGA 320x320.
Which themes?
I'm happy to help and whant to know which themes do you whant
Any of the top ones at XDA, really. I figured I'd ante up if I want to get this resolution a little lovin'.
Way to go been searching a lot for the themes but almost none found...
I still dont get it
I still dont get it You need any square skins for any programs?

Yeah, stock themes work. Where did I mention that I want stock themes re-sized?
I specifically asked for 320x320 sized XDA Themes.
They don't work.
Offer is still up!!
I just got Samsung Epix and found out that 6.5.3 themes are incredibly huge for 320x320, I moded my favourite Black and Repulic one, here you go (I know how hard is to find an usable theme, so far I found only Livven ones). If you have som nice, it would be kind to post them here as well.

Here's a pack of 320 x 320 Wallpapers:
If you want to know, I already made my themes compatible (we talked via PM after the initial offer was pulled) but acidhax hasn't been here since then, so I'm still waiting for a response from him.
Haha this is going to be a fight for money I think!
Hey one and all, I have searched the forums and was unable to find anything along the lines of what I'm looking to do. Perhaps I'm just not using the proper keywords here, or I'm simply not understanding what sense is to android. I'd be grateful if somebody could direct me in the proper direction.
I'm looking to recolor the Sense interface, I'm not talking about the android theming that's going on here (or am I?). I've rooted my phone and have been looking through a dump of the file system, but so far I've been unable to find what I'm looking for.
back back in the day, I did something similar on my organizer. The theme files where basic vector graphics I was able to edit. I have a feeling things wont be as simple here?
Am I looking at metamorph or will I be flashing the device from recovery mode? I am right to think that sense isn't simply a theme, correct?
*edit*
I've been able to just adjust the phone look, just can't find the proper archive I suppose?
Just exploring
*edit again*
/system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk <- yay, partly anyway
Htc's Sense is a UI overlay for vanilla android, found on google experience phones like G1,MT3G,etc....It's like its own theme though.
You can play with the rosie.apk. I have very little knowledge on sense otherwise I'd offer more help haha. I basically only know how to change the launcher a tiny bit
Everybody seems to want to drop back to the normal android interface the moment they're faced with HTC's sense
I actually like the interface, but haven't been able to find any information on modding it. So I suppose I'll spend my time documenting it, perhaps make a post on it when I figure things out.
If anybody has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. For now, it's back to digging through apks
most image should be in either rosie.apk or framework-res.apk. i couldnt find the images for the launcher but if i remeber correctly there was a script available quite a while ago that allowed you to change the colour of the launcher. i will keep looking for the images though.

I've noticed a few themes on here. I have the latest cognition running and am interested in putting a theme on my Captivate. Is there a compilation thread that shows all the themes and how they differ?

Not that I have fond but the post your homescreen thread is useful. There is allot of interesting tweaks and if you read enough you should be able to piece together what you want.

We should get off our butts and learn how.
I'm attempting to create a black and red theme. Keyword is attempting. So far it's been a long grueling process with lots of FC's. Slowly but surely it's coming together though. After I'm done editing with NinjaMorph I'll either upload the APK's or learn to make a MetaMorph.
So far I've gotten the check boxes, phone options menu, and notification buttons(mix with minimalistic black)
I'm gonna hit all the buttons/icons/etc first then dig into the xml's for the text coloring.
Fritz, have you made a thread for your theme yet? I'd like to see how that comes along. Red + Black are a great color scheme. I'd like to help out however I can if you would like.

Not yet. Let me get close to finished and I'll release it. I found my problem with the FCs I was getting. Apparently I don't know how to search and read or I would have found the thread on 9.png's. I wasn't re-applying the 9 patches after editing them. Kicking away at it on breaks and lunches at work but should get it done sometime soon.

I've been trying for a day now, searching here and through the code in htcdialer.apk, and phone.apk, but can't find anything. I'm trying to make the number text solid white, instead of black with a white shadow. I've seen this done on older versions of htcdialer.apk, but not on the newer versions. Is it even possible? I've gotten the dialer this far, I just want to make the numbers solid white. Any info or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Just a thought, you might want to share what the solution was in case someone finds this thread while searching for the same thing.

Yah...what he said. You ask for help...find the solution...then run off. I have themed several sense dialers and have run into the same problem as you. I'm sure I will eventually figure it out...but a post from you might make things a whole lot easier.

Drives me nuts, lol. It's probably a big reason why we see the same questions asked over and over.

Sorry people, been busy doing other things... But for cmylxgo, the only reason I tried to theme the dialer was to imitate one you made... all you gotta do is decompile the apk, the lines you wanna edit are under /res/values_hdpi/styles.xml. in there, is "text_style_phone_button_number" .. You can change the primary color, and also the shadow color ( I usually just invert them) using html color codes... If you want to change the keypad background, buttons, #, voicemail symbol, or *, they are all under /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk... Oh yeah the 0 number has to be changed also under "text_style_phone_button_zero_number" in res/values_hdpi/styles.xml for it to match the other numbers... Thanks htc...lol

It's a painstaking and thoroughly monotonous process that will make you wish you were dead.

There's bound to be a program for linux that will do the same thing.
You basically take hundreds of images, queue them up and tell them which order to be displayed in.
There are also probably websites you could use but to get something truly unique and smooth like the ones you showed above you'll probably need a standalone program.

Gimp is one of the most popular (and free) linux graphics apps, and it can do animated gifs. Have a look at that...
