[Skin] Stardock weather icons for Vito Weather 1.2 - Windows Mobile Themes

They are currently working fine on Winterface 1.2 and Weather 1.2 on my GSM Touch.
Not all icons are easily available (tornado for instance) but mostly they're pretty close to the original intent.
If anybody has a correct list of the icons decription (ie Sunny with showers etc) that Winterface uses, that would help.
Let me know if there are any problems, otherwise just copy the 3 files into the following two locations:
weather_icons.bmp to here
Program files\VITO\Winterface\Skins\bin
Program files\Weather\Skins\bin
wicons_x2.bmp and main_skin.bmp to here
Program files\Weather\Skins\bin

Maybe the lack of interest is a reflection on Weather 1.2 being a bit pants?

Fresh made theme

Hi all, this is my first attempt at theming for WM smartphone.
I started following the WM7 theme development thread, then I downloaded and installed a theme on my S730; it was quite good, but I didn't feel it to be at home: the default htc theme is grey, so are all apps (communication manager, audio manager...) and splash screens.
So I started modifyng it: the result is what you can see here (theme attacched); I use Facade and Madbeetle Clock Plugin.
Hope someone can enjoy it.
Very nice. I'm glad to see you used Facade.
For those who might be interested, I've found time and will to update the theme, moving down the program launcher bar and adding Fizz Weather.
New plugins needed: Fizz Weather (of course) and orange.
can this be used on an s710 ? and sorry for asking, im quite a noob at this, but how do i install a theme like this ? the zip file does not have a .cab file included
I think there's no problem in using the theme with an S710, but I'm not sure 'cause I've not one; perhaps some problems could arise from the version of Windows Mobile (S730 come shipped with WM6, don't know if you upgraded your device to the same version), but again I don't know (as you can see, I'm not that expert... ).
To install the themes, simply unzip the files in \Application Data\Home; of course you need to install the plugins used:
- Facade
- MadBeetle Clock
- Fizz Weather
- Orange plugin
Here is what I think would be the latest major upgrade to the theme.
I switched from Fizz Weather to Mini Weather (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392267&highlight=miniweather): this is an app which basically timely reads Google Weather xml (or other similar services), then creating a bitmap and updating the background of your smartphone accordingly to weather conditions reported in the xml.
I made my own master backgounds and icons; the result is in the provided jpeg: the large icon in the background and the first of the little ones shows current conditions, while the other 3 icons show forecasts for the next 3 days.
Here are the files needed; the content of Mini_Weather.zip must be copied in the MiniWeather folder created by the program (for info about the program itself please refer to the link provided above).
orange plugin
hi sir,,
thanks for the themes,,
but, where can i get the orange plugins my fone is not an orange branded...
edit:
i got orange plugin already hehe
the picture contact how can i add the picture contact in this theme?
im usung htc s730

Nice.. Really love the battery status.
Thanks
QVGA please, Thanks.
Hey adioph,
upload your qa_layouts.dat file from the SPB Mobile Shell folder, and ill see what i can do about QVGA.
edit: nvmd, got it working
hmm, thats weird, i have a Touch HD, so your device and mines should be pretty similar, also nothing was done to alter the original functionality of MS3.5 as all the orignal widgets etc remains. Will look into it though, thanks.
great widgets btw, thanks. one thing though, is there a reason you branded the battery meter with mh widgets 1.0??? honestly, would much rather see the date up there.
was thinking of gettin the weather widget up there, currently working on it, was also thinking about putting the date / alarm up there. so you guys can have a few options.
Look out for Date, and Alarm versions tomorow.
wow.. good work mate..love the battery status

Awesome!
I love what you did with SPB3.5. Too bad, I am not a SPB fan, but this does look really nice. Great ideas with Tasks and Agenda, the clock.
hmm...I may have to buy SPB, so I can enjoy this.
Thanks man.
Hey guys, i dont know if it works on the other resolutions, only tested on WVGA,
you cant try installing it on the other devices and see if it works, and let me know.
Backup your qa_layouts.dat file in the spb mobile shell directory before testing.
If it does not work on your device, unintall the cab via "remove programs" and then restore your backed up qa_layouts.dat
------------------------
As for the other resolutions, the graphics files would need to be completely redone to match the resolution of the device, please provide the "qa_layouts.dat" file and specify the resolution. And ill see what i can do about a conversion. First come First Serve, so qvga is first .
Also i want to make sure there is no bugs etc with the WVGA version before i start churning out the other resolutions. Also working on a design to acomodate the default lifestyle skin of the notification icons.
will be trying this. the battery on the time looks lovely and I'm vga

S2U2 Weather Icon FIX!!!!

I havent been able to find a fix for this anywhere...
so i fixed it myself....(when using wm 6.5, TitaniumWeather and s2u2 weather option is set for "userweather")
This is to fix the issue of S2U2 displaying the wrong weather icon in wm 6.5 and userweather option selected in S2U2.
copy the contents of the file folder (which it should be just pictures) to
S2U2/gfx/weather/ folder, to replace the pictures that are already there.
done....!!!
this has only been tried on windows mobile 6.5 using TITANIUMWEATHER, not touchflo

what does this do other then put the icons on the screen? put it in the center under the clock?
i have found other users with the same issue, the incorrect weather icon is displayed, this fixes that issue....
o do you mean when it get dark the icon stays as a sun instead of the moon?
correct, such as where i am, it has been clear all day, but s2u2 displays snow and ice....it kinda got annoying, so i took care of it....
o nice work
Which of the pictures in the zip did you modify/change? I'm interested in this fix, but I used a different set of weather icons.
Thanks!
right on, heres the story.....
as i was getting annoyed by the inability of the program to display the correct icon, i knew the problem was easy to fix. Accuweather calls upon the weather icon from wm 6.5 using numbers as the file name. So i figured that S2u2 does the same thing, and if that was true then the file names were numbered incorrectly to begin with. looking through the gfx/weather folder i found two sets of icons. the icons that s2u2 were using were incorrectly numbered. i found the second set was correctly numbered and just removed the first set and renamed the second set so that only numbers were in the file name. hence fixing the issue...
i tried the fix and i dont see a difference
p.s. from my understanding when the weather changes the icon changes. so far it hasnt..did i do something wrong?
make sure that s2u2 is setup for UserWeather under the notifications settings tab....its really only viable when u use wm 6.5 interface and TitaniumWeather....
i apologize if i didnt mention that before....i will edit
HTC Sence/touchflo 3d wrong s2u2 icons
I tried a similar trick to the HH_WEATHER icons for the touchflo 3d weather option but there seems to be something more seriously wrong with s2u2. For instance 'party cloudy' and 'mostly cloudy' weather results in displaying the same icon.
After spending a few days swapping icons about I gave up and turned off the weather in s2u2. It seems to be a moving target, like there is some counter out of sync.
This was on a touch pro2, wm6.5. Don't know which HTC Sence verision.
It would be good to know if others with my phone actually have s2u2 weather icons working with the TF3D weather and if there was a fix required.
hello,
For TF3D's weather, it seems not match because S2U2 show forecast only.
A part of the discution with A_C
A_C: "For the Manila 3D, v1.33 simply implemented what's done so far as v1.32d. i.e. some users may still cannot have the weather icon shown. There is no solution yet. Besides, please don't tell me that the icon shown on S2U2 does not match with the Manila 3D's Weather tab any more. It's simply because S2U2 is showing the FORECAST info."
This problem is old problem (V 1.33)
yours,

[SLIDER] [UPDATE:19/JAN] Classicflo Slider V2

It's been over a year(?) but i've been working on this for the past few days, and.. here's an update!!
To all nrg rom users:
Use classicflo_slider_v2-nrg_beta.cab
In the classicflo slider v1, nrg roms did not display the upper image. I don't know why this happens. To counter this, a transparent backplate is utilized.
I have not tested this on a nrg rom yet, tell me if it works
If you encounter any problems: take a screenshot + write a description to post here or pm me.
Thanks to

ThaDSman
for testing way back when
Hello all,
I've created a slider for sense/manila 2.5 based on the classic monochromatic icons from touchflo3D 2.0.
Todo:
=====
icons to add:
- call history
- manila tv
- facebook
- gps
- change week day preview color
- update all images to cleaned up 256x256*
* other than facebook and call history, the icons may still appear blurry as they have not been 'properly' fixed up as of yet
Changelog:
=========
v2
- added utopykzebulon's call history tab icon
- added netdrg manilatv tab icon
- add meltwater's facebook tab icon
- adjusted some icon positions and sizes
- calendar icon better supports newer manila
- preview icons are now 256x256 in size
- transparent sliderback support for nrg roms
similar to pamas's transparant (Glass) Slider here
v1
Icons include:
Home, people, sms, email, internet, reader, photos & videos, music, calendar, stocks, footprints, recent documents, twitter, weather, programs (not pictured) and settings.
Enjoy!
install instructions (for any .cab file):
=============================
i. uninstall any previous custom installed sliders
1. download the .cab file and move it onto your phone (via activesync) or to your microSD card.
2. use a file explorer program and navigate to where you have placed the .cab file
3. double-click the .cab installer to install. click "ok" or "yes" if required.
installation done!

No, sorry i only have the classic htc one. i think the one you're referring to is made by a carrier - so the image files would be pretty hard to find.
If there are any issues, post them here and i'll try to troubleshoot!
thank you very much for posting this consistant slider. its like the finishing touch of my GTX screen.
Thanks so much man! I've been looking for this for a long time...
Thank you nice to have the "classic" slider
nice! thanks
Thanks for sharing!
Very nice slider, thanks !!
by the way, would be possible to reduce the size preview icons we can see its a little sharped because there are big. and the sms tab icon would be more aligned with the slider (the black square behind)
I suggest this because I like very much your slider !
Brilliant, thanks so much for making this - the new Sense slider is so tacky: like some have already said here, I don't know why HTC abandoned the super slick version...
How can I install this??
Say, I'm currently using a different version of this slider made by Zitoun - only problem I have with it is that the calendar tab's preview icon has the date out of alignment. Does this one have that issue? If not, sign me up, the TF3D iconset is so much nicer than Sense.
Can you make a Facebook tab!? Please!
lippa said:

yes...
Also make call history icons please??
Edit: The calendar tab would probably look better if the day of the week was darker than white. Also, I haven't used the touchflo interface previously, but is the selected tab supposed to be blank when you're on it's page? In other words, when I slide and stop on a tab, the icon is hidden by just the blank grey tab slider. On the new Touchflo interface, it shows the icon as selected essentially, which is kinda what I prefer. So this may be a bug on my phone with this addon, or I may just be unfamiliar with the old interface...
Thanks for your work though and if these above things are addressed, I'll run this permanently. Currently though, it's not quite where it needs to be for me to run it daily. I'm running the Tmobile HTC LEO with latest EnergyRom.
facebook and manila tv
It is by far the best slidericons collection but:
with facebook and a manilatv icon its even better
So if you could be so kind...

Really nice, better than the default slider, but I would like to report some bugs... if this is the right place to do it...idk
First I noticed on the HTC Rhodium Verizon CDMA version, running latest EnergyRom Jul 24
The Slider does not have an image for whatever tab you are currently on, Its just all black.
And the Calendar shows the date all out of line...
Any chance you could add an icon for the GPS tracker tab?

[Android 2.1+] WMD-Weather & Clock

Available in Google Market...
End December 2010 I released WMD-Weather Lite in the Android Market. This widget is based on the WMD-Weather widget I created earlier for the Windows Mobile UI Androkkid. Since then, I've been working on the full version of this weather app & widget, hoping to release it soon as a paid version. This one will extend the lite version, and combine ideas from two other Androkkid widgets I created: WMD-Clock and WMD-WorldClock.
The application features a weather application, showing the current conditions (weather icon, temp, short text, status icons), a 6-day forecast and details when a weather icon is clicked (see images below), including a radar image. Where available (US), the UV index and pollen information/air quality are available as well for today's details.
Multiple locations are supported, as well as 'My location' which is modified when you move, and just about any location on the planet can be added. By swiping left or right, the next location's info is displayed. When the current location is known (via GPS or network), it will be proposed when adding a location.
The application can be set to update automatically.
Please see my site to get the latest information on features (this post is not updated frequently).
Lanuages supported: English, Dutch, German, French, Norwegian, Hungarian
Currently, the application comes with 3 widgets:
Simple weather widget (2x1)
- shows the location,
- the current weather icon
- current temperature and real feel temperature
- next day forecast icon, min/max temperature
- optional background (choice of backgrounds)
- time last updated
- clicking on the widget will launch the app with the widget's location
Weather/Clock widget (4x1)
- the simple weather widget, combined with
- a clock, optionally showing the location's local time
- optionally, the next alarm
- optionally, the current date
- optional backgrounds (choice of backgrounds)
- choice of 5 clock digit styles
- optionally display the hour leading 0 (e.g. 01:00 instead of 1:00)
- optionally select an application to launch when the clock's digits are clicked
Advanced Weather/Clock widget (4x2)
- the Weather/Clock widget, combined with
- an additional row with forecasts for the main widget location and/or current weather info for other locations (including the location's time)
By using the location's time, the clock widget can be used to create a weather/world clock by adding multiple locations with their time to your Android home app (see the images below for an example).
Currently in development for the next version:
- downloadable digit styles and backgrounds
- reworked internals
- more languages: Spanish & Portuguese
Wish list:
- widgets functioning on all devices
- additional weather widget(s)
- screen to screen animation
- slide from day to day in the details screen
All resolutions should be supported, allthough for 320x200 devices, scrolling is required to see all information. And, depending on the screen's density and the launcher used, the widgets may not display correctly. Try out the lite version to verify everything is displayed correctly.
PS: the application is tested on small screen/low dpi resolutions via the emulator, for which the results are correct. However, on the HTC Wildfire the widgets are not rendered fully...
WMD-Weather contains more information, screenshots, version info and the barcode to install the application. The link and barcode for WMD-Weather Lite can be found there as well.
Any feedback - good or bad, bugs, ... - is appreciated!

Thanks Excepter!
Please let me know if you notice any incorrect behavior (clock stops updating, service no longer running, ...).
I'm also looking for feedback on HTC Sense based devices. The widget size may be incorrect on HTC Sense, but I'm unable to test this (on ADWLauncher, my favorite, it looks good on all resolutions).
If you have other ideas to improve the application's functionalilty, I'll be happy to hear this as well...
Good work! I installed this on a htc hero running aosp 2.2 (no sense). I'll report back in a few days if I have any issues/ideas.
Edit: I just got an "error configuring widget" after I changed some of the preferences. Hmph I should have left it alone. Anyway I have to go to sleep, I'll play with it more tomorrow. I wish I had the skills to put together something like this; time is so hard to come by anymore...
Got it tested today on a HTC Desire with Sense (thanks Wim). No issues there.
However, the widgets on the HTC Wildfire (thanks Kurt) don't show all info and the background doesn't cover the entire widget. Something to work on...
Looking good, Ima try it later.
These look really clean!

Sorry for my somewhat late response.
I've had no issues with connectivity. However, in the lite version's comments there are 2 comments (out of 72) regarding update issues.
The app verifies if there's an internet connection available before launching an update. I've been able to test wifi, edge, hdspa, but not 3G myself.
Hopefully other users can share their experience here, to find out if it's 3G or device related. I'll do some research on this as well.
Nice work! Using this on my HTC Hero, no issues whatsoever.

Nope... not yet. Small screen devices will be one of the things I'll be focussing on next, cause it's really bugging me. I've already put in quite some time and tried some alternative layouts, but without success. If anyone else has a solution, please let me know.
It's hard to emulate. One thing I noticed lately is, that my widgets actually overlap in the small screen emulator. Which is a first (small) step ahead...
So I ended up buying a htc wildfire to do development work on for small screens.
The htc doesn't handle the small screen in the same way that others (such as the xperia x10 and the samsung galaxy 550) do. And what I found was that whilst the bounding box on my widget looked fone on the xperia and 550, it was stopping short on the wildfire.
Within my layout I had a android:layout_marginBottom="15dip" for the bounding box. Duplicating the layout and putting it in layout-small and removing the marginBottom fixed the problem for the widget on the wildfire, but also left a large space on the other small screens. As I have fewer wildfire users than x10 users this wasn't an option. Yesterday I tested a dirty fix; in the settings/preferences menu I have added in a widget layout option with default and small screen (wildfire) options.
When the user selects the wildfire option the widget will load with a layout that doesn't use marginBottom for the bounding box. And this seems to work. Would be good if I could detect what device the user was using so that this could be done automatically.
Thanks. It seems to be the same issue I'm having with the Wildfire. The emulator did not show the issue, but it does partly overlap 2 (of my) widgets when putting one above the other. I was planning on experimenting with relative layouts. Did you try something like that?
