what do we need:
*a htc multi adapter( in some cases we dont met them in the boxes as we buy the phone)
*a AV Cable( like this one )
*and the program
Simply plug your AV( cable with red, yellow and white plug like what you use for an camera ) cable into the 3.5mm port on the multi-adapter, plug the adapter in the phone, and start the program
Immediately after it is started, the Video Out format selection will pop-up. Select the proper format for your display/TV, and it should immediately show up on the big screen in beautiful color with perfect sound.
When you disconnect the multi-adapter, the program wil shutdown
If u see that u dont have video or sound, then try to put yellow or red one in the white one. like yellow in red, red in white, and white in yellow. try to mix the colours and u will see that it will work.
-----------------
IMPORTANT NOTE: Apparently, not all 3.5 to RCA AV cable have the same pin-out . You must use compatible AV cables or hope that you get lucky with whatever you've got lying around.

Big thnx for ''datawrhsdoc''
which phones have you tested this on?
ive tested this on rapheal and it works 100% but it must works on htc which support tv out and the multi adapter.
Doesn't work with the cable I have :/

I had to swap the red and yellow plug and it worked with my cable.
Interesting that you mentioned a tv out option w/o the cable. There have been several times I've connected my phone to the audio jack using the dongle and for some reason the tv out option screen would pop up. I'll try it as soon as I get home and will report.
What does the "htc multi adapter" look like (way too many different pics on Google ) and how much does it cost ?

There was something wrong with the custom ROM I had.
After a soft reset, all works well (swapped red and yellow)!
Thanks a bunch!

Thankyou.
Thankyou. I wonder if this cab will get rid of the blue flicker when using Coreplayer (QTV video setting) ?
Hmm.. I'll check this out. Thanks!
Yes!! it works!! I don't have any sound, youtube doesn't play video, and my own videos play upside down. It's a start!!!
edit: okay, soft reset fixed it...but I still have that upside down issue...and coreplayer (allows me to play left handed) has blue flicker...
will try mine, it and apple ipod video compatible "Logic3" cable, hope it works.
EDIT:
it worked just fine but the quality isn't much good as i expected, kinda pixeled (running into a full hd lcd)

M.Kaya = Leach
Mr. Leach (aka., m.kaya),
I have never bothered to flame anyone on XDA, so you are the well-deserved first. Congratulations!
Your very first post on XDA managed to plagiarize my post describing my invention/discovery of a very useful hack that I simultaneously shared with both the XDA and PPCGeeks communites on 2/26/09.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486916
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=59236
Changing several words here and there -without- giving creds is not a service to the community. It is a service to your own narcissistic useless self.
Unlike you, I posted the hack not to puff myself up, but to give back to community that I owe many many thanks over the years, having started ages ago with a Siemens SX-56 (Wallaby). This was a hack that I discovered by taking the time to mess around with random registry settings in my device in the hope I could find a way to avoid taking wire clippers to my multi-adapter. I shared it with the community merely because I figured nobody would want to alter their hardware when a simple registry mod will do. Another friendly member on PPCGeeks, techfury90, happily turned the registry hack into the toggle program that you posted as if you created it.
While I enjoy the thanks of others, I didn't post the hack to get their thanks or make myself appear to be something that I am not. I merely hacked my registry and got lucky. I shared my luck with the many kind folks on XDA and PPCGeeks.
Heck, the least you could have done is told everyone that iPod AV cables have the correct pin-out and linked them to a $3.64 product shipped (http://www.amazon.com/Macally-Audio-Video-Cable-classic/dp/B000GGQ2ZU) that is guaranteed to work, but, no, you modified the post in a way that they would -never- know that.
I hope you enjoy the undeserved thanks of others. Sleep well.

No, it won't get rid of the blue flicker when using QTV with Coreplayer. All it does is trick your device into thinking a standard iPod AV cable is a pricey HTC video out cable.
While our devices have hardware QTV support, CoreCodec did not license the drivers and instead built their own which only partially uses the hardware QTV. The result is blue flicker, higher power utilization, and a considerably slower framerate than what could have been realized.
You can get rid of the flicker from Coreplayer by changing video output in Coreplayer to DirectDraw. Maybe one day, CoreCodec will license the hardware QTV drivers from Qualcomm. Alternatively, you can use WMP which I understand uses the hardware QTV properly (I think).
Also, if your image is flipped, you need to select Menu/Options/Orientation/Left-Handed.

the answer is NO. it won't work. never.

bro
Well thats a fast judgment, you can always connect a bluetoot irda controller to your kaiser
but they are really not available!
But what if i could start my playstation 3 with kaiser...that would be fun
This thread is un-fuc*ing-believeable,

Yea your phone will work as a universal remote. All you have to do is...
1. line up the upper left hand corner with the power button on your t.vv
2. place your hand behind/side of your head.
3. throw hard.
4. You turned off your t.v
P.s. Repeat the above steps for powering on, volume, audio/video, etc....

Hey, don't get down on yourself. We all make mistakes. Go buy a new T.V. and phone, Try again.
If you turn your television around it should work then.
If you really wanted to, you could buy an irda for the kaiser, but you would have to plug that in along with a mini-USB converter (unless you find a mini-usb irda) every time you wanted to use it. It would probably be better for you to just get one from Logitech (if you have the money).
get a TV with bluetooth remote... if they exist....
or you can write a program to enable kaiser to play PS3... the controller use bluetooth throught....
I stream XM all day at work and I have to flip my phone upside down in the cradle so that I can use the Y-cable to play the stream through my speakers. I've always hated this because, 1. it defeats the purpose of the cradle and 2. the phone is upside down.
So I tried to get smart this weekend and adopt my OEM audio Y-cable to my cheap $10 ebay cradle I bought a while ago so that I could listen to audio while the phone was docked.
That was a big mistake.
I snapped the PCB board in half and now I've got no cradle and no Y-cable for audio. So after hours of searching, I FINALLY found a cradle that has the correct USB connector, thus allowing an audio out.
http://search.stores.ebay.com/Premi...sooZ1QQfsopZ3QQsaselZ840472QQsbrsrtZdQQsofpZ0
I just ordered it and so I haven't tested it, but the connector is the right shape, so I have confidence that it will work. I only wanted to get this link up there for those who have been searching for this.
I think maybe you got too technical. When I bought my touch it came with 2 types of Y-cable one for power/3.5mm? audio connections and the other for power/usb headphones that came with my touch. I would have just plugged that into the usb port in the back of the cradle and powered it by my computer.
But since you showed a link to ebay - here is another store called the Naked Cell Phone in ebay stores. My link goes right to the HTC Touch accessories he has. and his cradles can accommodate a second spare battery. Worth a look.

http://cgi.ebay.com/BATTERY-CHARGER...sidZp1742.m153.l1262?_trksid=p1742.m153.l1262
It doesn't allow you to play audio through external speakers and/or listen to the headphones while docked. While at work, I like for my phone to be upright so that I can see the screen.
I don't know what is so technical about wanting to have your phone in a docking station, where it is upright, and elevated from a surface and still have the ability to play audio through external speakers.
That looks like the one but it does not show the back -- didn't know if it had a miniUSB on the back.
Just trying to help

it's not the back connection that is the problem. it's the cradle connection. the part where the phone connects to the cradle has to be the d-sub pin layout. htc has pins on both sides, whereas miniUSB only has one side. the pins on the opposite side are for audio. regardless of how the back is wired, without the proper connection, you won't get audio out while docked.
I tried to rig something but ended up futzing everything up.

works perfectly well. definitely allows me to play all audio with teh phone upright. it includes ports for power and usb too, so it seems like you get the full function of the mini usb port with it.
my only gripe is the dock itself. it's a little clumsy to get the phone in and out and i find myself hitting the camera button when i remove the phone.
the dock also prevents use of the d-pad. which seems minor with a touch screen, but some apps respond better from the d-pad (or sometimes it's just easier). you can go up, left and right, but you cannot press down, even though it is visible.
the dock is also 2-3x the size of the phone which may be a turnoff for some people but the build seems to be quality.
however, it's definitely worth the $15. it comes with a charger and a usb cable. the audio out is a standard 3.5mm jack, so even if you don't want to play music through your computer speakers, you could always hook up headphones.
Got one!
I quite like this dock. I run "My Mobiler" on my desktop, so I can access the phone using my monitor/mouse/keyboard.
Now I can use the phone as my media player, transfer files, install apps, and (in theory) answer my phone calls hands-free using the on-board mic and my speakers. Haven't tried the last yet...
Thanks for the tip on this one, just ordered one for my car dock. Gotta love last.fm and podcasts for the commute streaming from Android on my touch!
just an fyi, the usb connection on this dock doesn't seem to be working for me anymore. i need to crack it open to see if i can find what's wrong. but i get intermediate connections and the phone goes in and out of being connected. not sure what the problem is, but i haven't used teh dock in a few weeks.
Cool i might get this. Been looking for a dock for a LONGGGGG time
Yikes, $18.00 shipping to Canada.
Cradle...
I got a deal where the usb/pc cradle, car cradle, 2 car power adapters, 2 wall chargers, 2 usb sync cables, and a soft case, and 3 pen/styluses all shipped for like $29, from Premiertek.net thru their ebay store, it also came with a belt holster that is kinda wonky but I really only wanted the 2 cradles anyway and I use my BlackBerry Perl's holster, cuz with my case it fits perfect. so I'm stoked, it allows for speakers on the usb pc cradle, and hands free built in on the car cradle... sweet. now I need to find a better mini audio plug to 3/8 sound adapter to use with the car cradle, mine only picks up the left channel.... but I have already confirmed it is my mini/3/8 adapter and not the cradles..
Anyone tried this on a vogue with android flashed?, want to know if audio out is all good.

lol - it's true!
Well, this is my 1st post.
Seriously need help! I've been asking in one of the thread about HDMI mirroring but seems like there's no response or answer for this.
Well, recently I have bought this baby, have been using it for over 2 weeks' plus.
Lovin' every part of it.
BUT, issue came out when I tried to connect my O2X to my 38" Sharp LCD TV via the provided HDMI cable.
It went well at the first place. (I was trying to play with its HDMI mirroring features)
I tried browsing the web.
Executed few videos.
Tried few of the games too. As I was having fun playing with the games with gyros.
Suddenly the TV flickered with few green lines and then went blank. So i was thinking that maybe the cable gone loose or whatsoever.
I unplugged and plugged it back in. Nothing happened.
So i tried HDMI port 2 on my TV (It has 2 HDMI ports), it worked for a while, but to not over 5 or 10 minutes it went blank again!
I plugged it back to HDMI port 1, nothing happened.
The worst thing is that i tried with another LCD TV, a size of 52", with full capability of 1080p output.
Yes, it worked, but worked only a while. It seemed like the cable had "gone loose" then "disconnected".
Well, in my opinion, the cable connection shouldn't be so "fragile" right?
Why would the commercials boast about LG O2X's HDMI mirroring capability
and being able to enjoy gaming especially with gyro sensors,
when it is so fragile, being unable to mirror the output???
I'm sure it isn't my LCD screens issue. I've tried 3 different plasma TVs.
Is there anyway to troubleshoot? Is it the cable?
Or maybe even worse, it's my O2X??? I'm using stock rom by the way.
Desperately need some advices and comments regarding this issue~ =(
if you want.. u may test using another cable.. to make sure it's cable or urs 2x cause it..
i never test it anyway as im using DLNA..

DLNA supports HD too?
Well, it seems hard for me to find another cable here though.
I hope it's software based issue but not hardware (Then it can be solved easily.)
Or else i'll have to visit my retailer then. (It's a good news though when you can get a new cable. Or maybe even a new replacement of O2X~ lol)
So you have the cable right? Can you try it? I'm kinda' curious to know whether theirs any other O2X users facing this "fragile-connection" cable issue.
It sucks when you can't play games, like Tom Clancy's Hawx HD on the big screen via gyros controller.... =(
Got no problems connecting and mirroring mutiple games, browsing and movies (Allthough i think almost games upscale buttugly to a large screen, pixelmania)
But,
I notice that the cable tends to disconnect easily from the micro hdmi hub on the phone when making gestures, which causes a disconnection ofcourse and a black screen. Happens with two cables i have, dont know if its because of a bad micro hdmi hub build on the LG or the cables. I suspect the first one cause it happens with both cables.
So, that could be the problem. What happens if you watch a movie or just connect the LG idle on a table? If it stays stable, and goes unstable during gaming/moving the device around, yeah probably same issue.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
I had almost the same problem. When i plugged in hdmi into TV, everything went haywire. random touches etc. But after i reflashed the ROM (v10b) or MCR fr18, every thing became smooth.
Gosh.. My problem is when it gone disconnected, pressing it back to the LG's hub didn't resolve either.
The most recent when it worked, watching a full 2-hour movie, was last 2 nights.
Unplugged it after use. But the next morning when i wanted to try again, nothing happened. Just blank screen.
The awkward part is the sound output. Even though nothing was shown on the screen, no sound from the LCD either, my phone's speaker was muted when it was plugged.
This means that the cable is still functioning at a certain stage right? (I guess.)
D*mn this is killin' me......
Hey everybody!
I just went through my electronics-box and found an old 15.4" LCD screen that I ripped from a broken Laptop a couple of years ago. Also a couple of days ago, there was a post on engadget about some chinese company, that sells the electronics for the type of LCD screen that I have. That made me thinking what to do with it:
Since I think the Nook is a perfect device for traveling around, I don't like it just to lie around at home. So my thought was, if it would be possible, or even has already been done, to fit the screen with some touch capability and build some kind of docking station for the Nook:
I come home, put it in the dock and the bigger screen takes all the functionality of the Nook screen (for displaying some media for example). Also of course it should charge the battery.
When I leave the House, I just take the Nook out of the Dock and have the normal Nook behaviour.
This is just a brief idea and I have not put any thoughts about the feasibility of such a project into it. What do you think about it?
That is a pretty cool idea! I would love to see you go through with it. I have a feeling that the cable might be an issue.... Is it even possible to transfer images through a microUSB plug? That would be the only thing that I see that might end up as an issue. My question would be, would it require additional software to make the image work appropriately with the monitor?
External display
I am searching for this functionality for a very long time. This is the first time I have seen a post related to that.
I would be happy atleast connecting nook to a dell monitor.
It may be possible using the display link drivers from the link attached . This is some thing I have been trying to make happen since i bought a car with out gps , I would love to mount a touch screen in the car then connect my android devices to it so i have all the same functions on a larger more driver friendly screen . http://libdlo.freedesktop.org/wiki/
Looks like it's been done, just about.
http://hackaday.com/2011/10/10/how-to-build-a-23-android-tablet/
You just need to expose the connections and add a switch of sorts...
very intriguing I might have to try this.
thank you for posting this
I think...I MAY try this at some point.
its just too cool not to. Im not sure what I would use it for though
This is vey odd and i hope that I don't have to replace my TV as a result of using Chromecast.
The device was working great for a week and I was very happy with it. However, this morning when I turned on my TV, it developed a fuzzy red hue all over the screen. (see pic). Tried as I may, I just can't get rid of it. UpgradeingTV firmware, rebooting Chromecast...plug & unplug TV power outlet....nothing works. I imagine this can't be an isolated case...i hope someone can chip in on what I should do to get the perfect picture back again. Thanks!
So even without the chromecast plugged in it still has the red issue going on?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I doubt the CCast caused it...
But you should go into the TV settings and reset your levels to factory default.
It sounds like your TV went out of calibration which can happen if you hit the wrong button on a remote.
Saturation could be too high, Hue could be to far towards the red, Usually resetting the levels on the TV to default will solve it.
If not then it could be the sign of an electrical problem with your TV.
Do other sources show the same problem? It almost looks like your input is processing in some kind of old-school 8-bit retro mode.
I highly doubt Chromecast could have caused such an issue. Do as Asphyx recommends and reset the picture settings on your TV first.
If your HDMI ports have an option to specify PC/Computer versus Video, make sure they're set to Video (and if you change settings, reboot the Chromecast too).
If the settings don't change anything and the problem happens with all inputs.
If you have one of the newer/higher-end Samsung TVs that has the input connections on a box that's separate from the TV, check the cable that goes from the box to the TV - if the cable is loose, kinked or damaged this might cause problems like what you see.
Otherwise, it's likely your TV needs to be looked at by a professional.
Why is the writing backwards on your TV?
Sent from my thingamajig running whatchumacallit
solved
I was able to cure the problem by tapping the back of the TV set several time on different spots. I think what happened is that I had a tendency to push in too hard while inserting Chromecast into HDMI slot. That might have damaged the TV connection. A few light taps on the back solved the issue. Although I am sure it's finicky and may come back again.

That sounds like either a Dirty HDMI port or some other bad connection on the Input board.
Makes sense actually because now that I take another look at your picture it appears that your green signal wasn't displaying properly.
