how to write underscore(_) on kaiser keyboard
really??
Function (thats the blue key that says "Fn") + a.
And for characters that do not have a designated key on the keyboard, hit Fn + OK to get a list of symbols.

Hello,
I´ve found a solution for the accentuated letters with the AT&T Tilt.
When you run the "Tilt Keyboard Fix" CAB the keyboard is fixed ok, but you can not get the accentuated characters by pressing "Fn+Space".
You need the AE Keyboard Mapper (http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php) and the layout I´ve created (Spanish_AT&T_Tilt.aek).
Just install the Keyboard Mapper, copy the layout in the \Program Files\AEKMap subdirectory, run the program (AEKMap Settings) and load the layout. Check the "Run on startup" box and Save.
Now you will get the accentuated letters by pressing the windows button (between Fn and Sym) and the key of the letter you want to accentuate.
Win+e --> é
Win+E --> É
Win+n --> ñ
Win+N --> Ñ
I have changed the $ with the €, but you can edit the layout (Spanish_AT&T_Tilt.aek) and remove this remap line with any PLAIN text editor.
I have been looking in the forum for a solution for the Tilt keyboard. Everytime I ask, someone usually responds pointing me to the Tilt Keyboard Fix cab, that was posted by Taurus Bulba. Installing the cab results in the keyboard being mapped with the ATT layout (enables the CWS layout in the registry). This makes every fn key work as it should, but it kills the Fn+Space combination.
When you key Fn and Space after a character, the characters changes as per what is defined in sym049.txt (or whatever symxxx.txt file you have in the windows directory, depending on your language).
For example, if you type an "a", press Fn and Space, you get an á, then à, and â, etc. Same with other characters. This is important for those that write in foreign languages that require accents or special characters like ñ, ç, € (Euro currency sign), "£" (British pound sign), and any other letter with an accent.
I think the issue is with the CWS layout (CWS being Cingular/ATT). That layout doesn't have the Fn+Space in it; the Hermes keyboard had a blue "á" and "ü" written on the top left corner of the Space bar, indicating that Fn and Space will result in accentuated characters. The Tilt doesn't have those and in fact, when you install an original ATT Rom (no need for keyboard fix there), the Fn+Space combination doesn't work.
The only way I've seen to get Fn-Space back to life is NOT to use the CWS layout. Using any non ATT Rom will allow you to get Fn-Space working, but at the cost of getting many of the other Fn keys mapped wrong: for example, the "!" and the "@" are swapped, the ";" gives you a "%", and so on.
Sounds like the solution would be a keyboard layout that is 99% like the CWS layout, but that adds the Fn-Space combination.
Any suggestions?

Yes, but not getting any attention on that one...
Fixing "Fn Space" feature
This kills the word suggestion feature, but enables you to use the FN-Space function again:
SOLVED!!! - HTC WM6.1 ROM : Missing "Fn Space" function?
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see you responding there aswell

Hello,
Lucky you English typers The point is that I live in Poland where we have also special characters. On PC I can get those character by pressing Alt + letter. But what about my HTC?
I tried to use Polish T9, but after installation I get the following:
- indeed I have Polish dictionary - ok
- in compact QWERTY I can type special characters (you can change characters by pressing proper button a few times) - ok
- in compact QWERTY the buttons are associated with normal letters and also Polish characters (when I press for example "l" I get words starting with both "l" and Polish characted similar to "l") - ok
- in compact QWERTY I don't have symbols panel - keyboard area is getting black - wrong
- in full QWERTY there is no way to input Polish characters (by pressing "l" for the second time I would like to get such a character) - wrong
- in full QWERTY the buttons are associated only with normal letters so it is almos impossible to use T9 - wrong
So question to all of you - is there any way to customize this keyboard?
Currently black sumbols screen (compact QWERTY only) gets me crazy. Furthermore it would be superb to be able to modify default grey characters (the one that apprears when you press and hold the button) on full QWERTY. Any ideas?
Im interested in other way how to havo only full keyboard or only keypad because I never use compact keyboard and I can save some storage space and also situation for switching between keyboards...
When composing a message there is no DEL button for erasing.
Only Backspace is available to delete the text.
Which means for correction the cursor has to be brought at the back of the letter to be deleted and then Backspace has to be pressed.
Where is the del button?
Cheers
On my Tilt, the Del key is Fn-Backspace.
using the hardware keyboard, function+backspace = delete
using the on screen keyboard, shift+backspace = delete
It works fine with hardware keyboard ( Fn + Backspace)
but on screen touch keyboard ( which i use most of the times) shift + backspace deletes only one character and switches back to backspace.
cheers.
Try CAPS+backspace= del key.
double tap SHIFT
on the SOFTWARE keyboard, if you want to achieve delete functionality for several consequtive characters, double tap the SHIFT key and that will lock the software keyboard into caps lock mode
now delete will not become backspace until you hit SHIFT again
same goes for when you want to enter all caps characters (THIS IS AN ALL CAPS SENTENCE), just double tap SHIFT and type away
so,
SHIFTx2 = CAPS LOCK
thanks. i double click on shift and then del button is there.
if long texts have to be deleted, i found dragging the cursor above the text thereby highlighting it and then pressing Backspace does the job.
This thread is closed now and thanks again for all contributors.
cheers.
Hi buddies,
New keyboard of Topaz doesn't include ctrl and alt. How can i get the traditional keyboard back? Or is there any work around?
Thanks in advance.
keyboard
so, when you write a message, middle bottom you have a keyboard. click on it (try double click or exactly on the up sign and a menu appears to change the keyboard type). And select keyboard.
But that is without ctrl and alt
select keyboard, it has ctrl(the button with ctl), I don't know about alt though
