Hi,
Does anyone of you know how to change the font size of the street names on the iGo8 map? It should be something in sys.txt, but I can't find it.
One way is to use the 400x240 folder, but it will not look as good as 800x480, obviously. How does your iGO perform in 800x480? Can you scroll smooth in both 2d and 3d? Mine has very few fps when scrolling the map, I still didn't find a good setup.
I must admit that the scrolling speed is not very good at 800x480, but it is still acceptabble. I found a way to change the fontsize in 3dmode, but I can't find a way to do that in 2D mode. That's why i thought there should be some option for that too.
To change 2D map text edit sys.txt and add mapfontscale=200
[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
show_minimize=0
skin="ui_igo8"
;resolution_dir="800_480"
;screen_x=800
;screen_y=480
vga=1
wide=1
recalc_voice=0
mapfontscale=200
drive_carefully=0
popup_info=1
laneinfo_signpost_enabled=1
shutdown_time=0
show_orientation=1
defaultzoom3d=40
How did you change 3D Map Text?
Change font size in 3D mode
Found this, tried and it works!
Change the font size for the street names on the map in 3D
[3d_config]
roadsign_lines_per_screen = 15
; this is an example for a larger font - the larger the number, the fonts are smaller (but it is not a typo)
Thanks. You are the best!

Hi guys.
So many of you have requested the original Diamond gridded wallpaper before that I decided to copy it from my wife’s Diamond. Here it is in 240 – 320 (Kaiser)
The file is in .png format, so you won’t see the grid in normal (pc) viewing. Also, the image is about 5% darker than displayed on the Diamond…never the less…it looks great.
For Manilla 2D users – disable TouchFLO, coppy the file to the Main Windows folder, overwrite, start touchFLO again, and the default black gridded Diamond wallpaper or “background” should be seen.
…Or, use the file in any way that you want.

thanks bro..
I did a search so forgive me if this has been answered already.
I just noticed that when setting wallpaper in TF3D that it seems to downscale the resolution of the wallpaper to a lower more pixelated version instead of the nice high res original that you can view via the album.
In the album it looks amazing but as a wallpaper it doesn't look as nice.
What is the deal with this? Is there any kind of fix to get full res wallpapers?
The album app doesn't make it a proper wallpaper. It lowers the quality and resolution, saves it as JPG. TF3D then stretches it.
For proper background you need to copy it to your computer and use CFC GUI or Maranell0's background tool.
is there any application that can make a High Resolution Wallpaper for the VGA screen device like the one for the WVGA screen device in the blackstone forum?

the cfc editor also works for our VGA resolutions.
steps:
turn off manila
under device, go and patch manila
then under the tf3d, apply the xbmod patch (if that's what you're using)
then tf3d > create background
photoshop your image to the given sizes. (choose vga landscape or portrait to see sizes)
load up the image and save. it will split the images. you can do this for both portrait and landscape (i have different backgrounds for each now)
after you load up your images and they show up on the panel on the left, hit CTRL-F.
yes to compression, yes to trim.
then transfer to device. although keep backups of the files being replaced incase anything goes wrong.
this replaces your default background. so just go to settings and choose to use default bg and that's it. one side-effect is that i have backgrounds on all tabs now. not that i'm complaining.
woot, finally high quality backgrounds. those grainy bg's from before were really getting to me. this makes changing backgrounds harder, but i like my quality.
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a specific background for my hero.
I've downloaded the 'backgrounds' app from the market and also had a search via google with no luck.
Any idea where I can get a Tottenham Hotspur wallpaper from?
Or if not, how I can convert a picture to use as a wallpaper?
Thanks,

whats the background image resolution on the uk tmobile g2 ?
i.e. not the physical screen resolution, but the resolution of the image that is scrolled in the background of the default 7 touchflo (android home?) pages. i dont think its simply 7x width of screen, as it doesnt scroll as much as the foreground

Check the HTC site and see if it lists the dpi (dot per inch / dot pitch) of the screen... but a 72 dpi image should be fine, or use a larger size than 640x480.
As long as its the same aspect ratio it will scale nicely when cropped.
Cheers joe!
I've found something decent, I was under the impression I needed a specific android wallpaper, but the image I found from one of your links seems to work fine!
Thanks...

this site will be usefull there are enough wallpapers. i like this site
Any 640x480 jpeg image should be fine for a home screen background, anything larger can be cropped down when you set it
