Anyone notice the annoying Bluetooth Icon located at the top Start bar?
It shows when you have BT turned on. The icon absolutely does nothing other than telling you that you have BT on, which is easily checked by going to Comm Manager!
It is a total waste of space and sometimes it conflicts with ur AD2P headphones logo.
This has never been on any other WM devices that I have had before.
I tried looking at the registry but no luck!
Anyone? Thx
no one cares or no one else find it annoying?
No it's easy, there are no led's on the diamond so i like it

I understand. But it somehow mixes with the AD2P Stereo icon and when there is a message or missed call, the icon will turn into the "notifier" icon. That means I have to click it before I know if I've got a sms or missed call!
Still no like? Can any of you pros give me a hand pls...
I have looked through the registry for many times but no luck still. someone help please...

haha, same with me - I used to have the icons (bt, headphones, etc) but now I don't have them anymore... I assume it happened after I installed S2U2?
I'm not pretty sure...

What is S2U2?
I have installed some software but i adviced the problem about the icon some day ago, the first time i switched on the BT.
I dont notice a conflict with any other icon, but its a shame that you cannot toggle the bluetooth status by tapping the icon. Its just an indicator (due to lack of LED light) that serves no other purpose.

Same here, I'm just missing the BT icon... and I can't get it back
I like to see when BT is on or off because I toggle the BT with long press on the answer key...
I can't remember when it got lost but I have S2U2 installed...
Any answers to the big question how to toggle the icon?
Restore Bluetooth Icon Help Please
Could it be that one of the tweak apps that we have all installed has removed this icon. But which one and how? I miss it, as I want to know if I've left BT on my mistake, to preserve battery life.
Mine has disappeared too and I want it back. Also installed S2U2 as well as a couple of other tweaks. Not quite sure when it went missing though.
Have you disabled the phone skin or are you using a custom rom with the phone skin disabled ? If yes you loose the BT icon.
Yes, I did disable the skin. Turned it back on and the BT symbol is back again. Thanks for that
Seems a bit daft that the BT symbol would be linked to the phone skin though.

Problem solved, well done!
how to activate phone skin? =/
I dont think the headset and bluetooth icons are conflicting, more that it's showing that you have a headset connected via bluetooth (the bluetooth icon is inside the headset one).
I personally don't mind it but it would be nice to at least have the option to hide it.
heh, some like the icon, some hate the icon....
i find it annoying. even though it's nice to know whether bt is on or off, there's just too little space up there. and if you have reminders or new sms, those things get bundled into one "notification" icon, which you need to click to see what's hiding there... and that's the annoying part
I'd prefer to hide the new message / missed cal icons, as they are already on the TF3D today screen, and I never click on those icons. This way we could keep the bluetooth and AD2P icons. The task bar should be only for "system" icons
Anyone found a way to have the Bluetooth & Headset icons visible even after disabling the HTC Dialer Skin?
After installing Pocket controller an icon is place in today screen to change settings. The problem is I cannot access the settings dialog where there is the option of removing that icon. When I tap on it nothing happens.
Also there is created an acess to program settings in settings menu, but occurs the same, when tapping on it nothing happens.
The program works fine except of this. I want to remove that icon because it ocuppies one complete line of today screen. I've tried looking in registry but did not find any string or value to hide that icon. Tested with pocket controller pro versions 6.01, 6.0, 5,7... and always the same.
I had the same problem so I started using My Mobiler. It's free and does the job.

Any other solution apart from roming? Maybe a registry edit?
Here is a Regfile to switch the Trayicon off.

It worked!!!!
The strings added were
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\SOTI\PocketController]
"enabletray"="OFF"
"KioskAdmin"="0"
"Log"="0"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Apps\SOTI\PocketController\Video]
"enabletray"="OFF"
"Install"="\\Windows"
"Log"="0"
Now one only issue to be solved. When tapping pocket controller in settings menu nothing happens and you cannot access to progrma options.
I have a problem that my phone pops up notifications - but they are blank.
The phone is a Kaiser/TyTnII ( Used to be Vodafone 1615 )
I am pretty sure that this phone has been flashed with one of the XDA ROMs as i have just done a hard reset and i still have touchFlo and a bunch of other non standard looking utilities on the phone.
The about box for TouchFlo says version 1.0 ( Build 1818.3719 ) which i am pretty sure having read all about the touchflo project for the Kaiser on the XDA developers is a version created here.
So now that i have given some background, back to the problem... pretty much everything on the phone seems to work ok. But the really annoying bug is this notification pop up.
eg. Set a calendar appointment for a few minutes in the future, set a reminder.
.... few minutes passes ... notification pops up
whole screen dims and at the bottom i get the soft buttons of "dismiss" and "menu"
No actual message is displayed on the screen.
Now i flip to landscape mode, and i can see the top left hand corner of a pop up message - the rest dissapears off the screen.
So, what have i done so far to help myself ?
1) searched these forums for somebody having the same problem/question X
2) tried some registry tweaks for specifying what message should pop up X
3) renaming the notification manager.dll X
4) looking at all the notification *.png screen images in the /windows/
folder and confirming that they are correctly set for the QVGA screen size. X
5) tried downloading the notification manager.cab for the rhodium - elsewhere on the XDA site. - would not install
6) hard reset the phone.
I dont actually want the touchflo as i prefer the spb mobile shell. What options do i have ?
Do i need to just apply the correct registry tweaks and all will be well ?
Do i download a new notification manager from somewhere that will fix this?
Do i have to re-flash the phone ? ( least attractive option to me )
Can i somehow uninstall the notification manager and go back to a windows
default version ?
thanks, you_were_lucky
Notification Manager - pop up window size ?
So some developments since my post yesterday, I tried some registry tweaks to change the font sizes.
I notice that if i tap the title bar ( next to the wifi icon) i get the notification manager screen up - this has all the correctly sized and formatted .png images and functions correctly.
It is the pop up that appears due to a calendar reminder or a wireless network found etc. that is all wrong
When i go into landscape i can see the edge of this and even click on the wireless network found radio buttons etc.
So i figure that maybe the pop up window sizes are all wrong due to some mad font size someplace. I went into the registry and tried changing font sizes down from 800 to 12 and this did indeed change the size of most fonts kicking arround the place. Unfortunately it did not influence the size of the pop up box.
Any ideas people ?
thanks YWL

if you disable the htc dialer the BT icon will be disable because its withen the htc dialer
but there is a fix for this
there is a small program that do the same job , its show you the BT icon when you enable it, so you dont need the HTC dialer if you jast want the BT icon
here you go

Hi,
I would like to have the Windows Call because the HTC Call is ugly. thank you
It's called the dialer. You can't delete it, but you can disable it via a registry change & restart.
HKLM:Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled=1
Change to 0, this will disable HTC's Dialer skin & enable the default WM Dialer. It supposedly saves 10+MB of RAM.
Note, this might effect your Topbar signal Icons as the default WM Dialer uses icons from shellres.192.dll instead of the phcanOverbmp.dll that HTC's Dialer uses.
Never thought of doing that but I made the change. I like the Windows dialer better too and it doesn't have that bit of lag that the HTC dialer does when you push the phone button. Thanks!
Keep in mind that you lose some important options - for example the WM dialer doesn't support video calling.
Also, the proximity sensor doesn't work with the WM default dialer too. You can always change that registry back to 1 though & restart again to get the HTC Dialer back.
Thanks again guys. I don't do video calling with my limited data plan but losing the proximity sensor functionality will be an inconvenince so I'm changing back to the HTC dialer.
