Hi there! I want to put the LATEST OFFICIAL SW from SE on my X1i. I bought the phone in Switzerland. It would not appear that it is branded in any way. ROM Version says "1.03.939.8" dated "12/21/08", so I suppose that's old. I tried SEUS but it ****s up with the phone identification, displays the screeen for an hour without any changes. Tried multiple times. Now I'm downloading the following: APP_SW_X1i_GENERIC_CH_CDF1215-3301_KOV_R2AA008 to flash it using MicroSD.
Is this going to do what I want? I wish to keep German Language and Swiss Keyboard Layout, as well as default apps (Opera, StreamingMedia, Panels).
Your help is very much appreciated!
Yep, it's the latest ROM for Switzerland.
But you have that on your phone already...

How can you tell? I thought a new SW had been released a few weeks ago... And definitely not in December of last year
BTW I got SEUS to work meanwhile. And it indicated current Version is CH CDF1215-3301. So that would match the ROM i mentioned, but not the R2AA008-Bit. I read a lot about R2A being the new one and R1A the old. So what's with that?
And how am I supposed to determine this Version on my phone without SEUS? I don't see any link to the "ROM-Version 1.03.939.8" I get.
Finally, IF this ROM-Version I downloaded equals the one I am currently running, how can I use it for future updates? The file is .image, so would I rename it to kovsky.nbh and Copy to the MicroSD or do I absolutely need the kitchen? And do I get it right that, with a Hardreset, I am doing exactly the same as with flashing the current ROM? And if I flash a newer ROM (Supposing there will be one in the future), will the Hardreset get me back the old ROM or the new one?

There are only two firmware versions and the first had to be released before the phone was released. So December last year can only be the latest firmware.
But to be sure press START --> EINSTELLUNGEN --> SYSTEM --> GERÄTEINFORMATION --> BENUTZERINFO
There should be the SOFTWAREVERSION R2Axxxx
Oh right... Who would associate Userinformation with ROM Version... Didn't even bother to look at it when I had the device info open. Thanks for the hint! Any answers to the other questions?

A kitchen is needed to cook custom ROMs, but you just want to flash an existing ROM.
You rename the image to kovsimg.nbh, place it on the root of your storage card and boot your phone with the volume down and power button pressed.
Then the bootloader asks you if you want to flash the image.
But this only works with official (signed) images, for custom ROMs you need hardspl first.
And do I get it right that, with a Hardreset, I am doing exactly the same as with flashing the current ROM? And if I flash a newer ROM (Supposing there will be one in the future), will the Hardreset get me back the old ROM or the new one?

Nope, that's totally different things.
With flashing a new ROM you place the ROM into the boot loader and with a hardreset you are setting the phone back to the ROM-origin.
Imagine, you have a computer with Windows XP on it -this is similar to your ROM.
Flashing a new ROM is the same as formatting your computer and installing Windows Vista.
Once you have Vista installed and customized the desktop and your files, a hardreset would be the same as reinstalling Vista so all your personalisation would be gone and the operating system would be fresh once more.
The ROM inside the bootloader stays the same when hardresetting. You can't "hardreset back" to an older ROM, you just can "flash back" to an older ROM.

So how do I know I am owning a signed image? I downloaded it from this forum, from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482 I suppose/hope these are signed?
Why do they use .image Extension and not .nbh straight from the beginning? You sure this will work just by renaming? I don't want to question your statement, never, I just want to be sure I'm doing it right if I just rename the file, put it on the card and start in Bootloadermode. I guess, if the flashing failed, that loader ("SPL" or what it's called) would still work, wouldn't it?

Still it's hard for me to understand, I don't see a direct comparison to PCs here. So when I'm flashing, the phone somehow stores both the "original" state, that is to be used when hardresetting, as a kind of backup, and the state that is going to be used afterwards, where you install your apps and keep your files etc? Or how does that work? What does the device exactly do when I Hardreset?

Yes, these are official images from SonyEricsson. Just put rename it to kovsimg.nbh and put it on the Storage card (everything is explained here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070)
If the flashing fails, for whatever reason, the bootloader will still work and you should be able to flash the image again.
But to minimize the possibility of an error, the phone's battery should have at least 50% power and you must be sure that the image download is complete (sometimes downloads just stop somewhere in the middle). So verify the size of the file from rapidshare.

Your phone has three stages of memory:
1. The ROM (Read only memory):
In this stage lies the image
2. The internal memory
The operating system installs itself onto this memory after flashing with a new image and starting up the phone.
You can also write and read from this memory.
3. The storage card (if available)
A ROM-Image is a file that consists of the operating system (WinMo6.1 in our case) and all the application that SE wants you to have on your phone (panels, games, office application and so on).
This file is flashed into the phone's memory, the ROM. You cannot change this ROM or write anything in it except flashing it with another ROM-Image.
You can compare the image with your Windows Vista DVD. The DVD is like the ROM inside the phone -the operating system is compressed on it and the computer can't write onto it, just read.
When you switch on the phone the first time after flashing (the same as the first time you switched it on after you bought the phone), the operating system installs itself from the image onto the phone's internal memory (the same as your Windows Vista-DVD installs the operating system on your harddrive). Once this is done, all the other application that are contained in the image are installed too (e.g. Word, Excel, the Panels, Solitär aso.).
Now everything the phone needs to work is on the internal memory and the ROM is left in freedom but the image is still in it.
Now, if you hardreset your phone, the internal memory will be formatted. Everything on it will be erased. After that the operating system and all the applications are installed out of the ROM image onto the internal memory again as described above. It's like the first time you switched on the phone after you have bought it.
From now on, everytime you hardreset the phone, the image out of the ROM is installed. And it's always the same one to the point when you flash a new image to the ROM.
Thanks a lot for this very in-depth and useful explanation! I think I finally got it Thanks again for all of your help! Now it's all clear to me I'm so happy ThX!
As the full official upgrades (R2) have a radio upgrade, then I'd seriously recommend that you charge to 100% before flashing.
Some people don't seem to think it does anything, but I think it makes the battery calibration better. Doesn't hurt either

I must know,
because I have trouble with a software and, sorry, the Touch-it Ultimate 10.1 of Smaberg, now, even, if I use either a hardSPL, or a reinstall of another rom, with Xperia, or try the microcard install, or the built in function in the Xperia, under System, Clear storage, even, if the tricolor screen is showing up, NOTHING anymore is happening, and when an hard reset is done, still the same Ultimate rom is coming up....
Did make a search, using, Smaberg, remove, touch-it, but could not find any tips....
Thanks a zillion
ROM is the built-in operating system of your device. You cannot remove it - without ROM your Xperia is just a nice metal brick.
If you want to remove a certain ROM you need to flash another one. In your case use stock ROM from this thread.

sorry, but I does not work anymore,
hard reset, either Kovsimg.nbh, or when having renamed the generic english rom, and installed inot the kowski installer, it is not working under RUU_Signed.nbh..
I am clueless, totally..
did removed battery, hard, soft, kissing it, nothing, still the extreme and ultimate Smaberg coming up and up and up...Perhaps I installed another softw, forbiding to remove that rom, but, where to look for? in the registry, or remove the microcard when trying to install the RUU_Signed.nbh?
remove your microsd from the xperia while flashing.
kovsimg.nbh in your microsd card has priority over the rom you're flashing through your pc......so you're probably re-flashing over and over the same rom.
If you still have problem try flashing with the microsd method. check the sticky for detailed istructions.
i had the exact same problem, took me some time to figure it out. Start you're phone in the bootloader, and connect to your PC. Put the ROM update Utility in the same folder as ur kovsimg file and rename it to ruu_signed.nbh. Start CustomRUU.exe and flash via that way.
Did that fix it?

Dianotea, thanks for the tip, but, I did try to remove the OLD, I mean the Smaberg rom, named from the microcard to Kovsimg.nbh, and in place did copy from the PC, the generic english, rom, changed the name from the extra long name, to kovsimg.nbh for the microcard, and again and again, always sorry, the Smaberg rom come....
then yes, I did not try yet, to remove the microcard and doing it in a little time, and using the custom rom and insert the extra long generic english, I do need that one, because it is working for Hungary, T mobile or Vodafone, I am under contract with T-mobile but, each time (I try to start the customrom I mean the update, and I use the activesync, I always receive an error message and now I am unable to keep going...The funny part is, before I installed the Smaberg 10. and was able to remove, I think twice, able thew have my bootloader, but now, the Ultimate 10./1 with all the fixes, then I do feel something is weird with that rom....Why I can't remove it after either an hard reset, is a mystery....
Now, going very further,,, I bought the Xperia with a 2 years contract, and I know, if we do install any kind of rom, s, the warranty from Sony Ericsson, is void, but, this very afternoom, I went to Tmobile, and the service man, knowing me well now, I spoke about, to reverse my Xperia to the original genuine rom....He told me, ok, I am going to do it right now, but, I do need 20 minutes...I said, fine with me....Then, he came back 10 minutes later, and, dis someone from the forum mention if you like to go back for service, under warranty, yuou must do,,, so and so....but, why, if I do not make any mistake, WHY the SonyEriccson need to oreder an harware, like a key, to be truly able to reinstall the genuine software??????????
Then, frankly? the reverse engine is really working or not? I mean the one post, mentioning...Bla-bla, If you go with your phone to warranty work, you must reinstall the original pack.....There, I do know, we can use some software who bypass a dongle...Then?? does Sony Ericcson use a kind of dongle to reinstall an original software? and, know, I feel, when we need to go for repair, and we use fake software, they must find, we did used another and not original rom....
Then, yes, all the rom, are installed at our own responsability, but, sorry, when we are unable to remove a rom, and need to go back for """fixing""" beta softwares....I do wonder....
Then, do we have here someone who truly could explain how to remove ANY rom's, when we can't do anything anymore?
all that, because Pocket artist 3.3, I am mad now, and almost sick
also, without that key or dongle, we are unable to reformat the real Sony Ericcson genuine rom, and THAT key, of course, we can not buy it....

I apologize if this thread has been seen before, I searched and couldn't find anything pertinent. Anyways, my phone has recently started to freeze, causing me to turn it off where it then erases its memory equivalent to a hard reset on an hourly basis. This happens even if I turn it off without it freezing it still acts like I performed a hard reset on it. Also when I text my messages fail to send because I get the error code "failed to encode message" And the majority of my programs are not working as in it will say something like "failed to run xml file" or "failed to run kfreeplay file." I tried flashing different roms to no avail. I think there are some crucial memory blocks on my phone that have been corrupted. I am at a loss as to what to do and any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
-John
what ROMs? WinMo 6.5 roms?
I had the reset issue, until I flashed to stock ROM first, then to 6.5 ROM. Time will tell, as I just did that this morning
I made the mistake of not reading the cook's FAQ at the beginning of his thread about flashing to stock ROM first
Well this all came about because my PDA corner ultimate V.5 was getting slow so I was going to upgrade to make it faster. When I flashed the new ROM it turned bad and so I flashed to some other ROMS which had the same problem. So I eventually went back to my PDA corner ultimate V.5 but I am still having the problems associated with the other Roms as well. I will try flashing the stock Rom see if that helps.
No dice reflashing the stock ROM because I use a mac and so the only way I can flash is through USB and the file isn't able to be flashed by USB only through .exe Any other suggestions?

I 2nd "cmwgimp" in that flashing the stock ROM BEFORE flashing a new ROM is a must. If you read through any of the ROM threads you will find that to be true as well.
The fact that you haven't flashed the stock ROM before trying the new ROM's is most certainly the reason all of the additional ROM's you flashed after PDA Ultimate V5 have had problems.
Download the HTC stock ROM onto a flash drive, find someone with a PC (maybe even a library/college/etc.) and reload it from there. It will take less than 15 minutes and it will certainly eliminate many of your issues. Just remember to hard reset after loading the stock ROM, then hard reset again after loading your "preferred" ROM.
Hope this helps! Take care!

Alternatively, you can download the HTC stock ROM, extract it using any UnRAR program for OS X (a google search will yield plenty of results) and after doing that, rename the extracted file called RUU_Signed.nbh to KAISIMG.nbh. Then, you can move KAISIMG.nbh to your MicroSD card using a card reader, and put that back in your device. Hold the Camera and Power Button at the same time while the device is off to load the bootloader, and if you did everything right, you should be able to follow the instructions from there.

I learn something new each day I come here, might as well pass that on to others. The wiki page concerning it is here, if anyone wants the original source. It goes into more depth and discusses troubleshooting options as well.
Hello,
I know you guys got some excellent walkthroughs, roms, programs and threads where you've helped a lot of people out but I could really use some personal feedback. I had hoped to fix my phone using one of the excisting threads but unfortunalty I can't get it to work with those.
My problem is one I've seen more of in here, I used the SE updater and it froze at 53%, I did what the program said, reconnected and it froze again at 12%, and again, again, etc. So I disconnected thinking it might be a bad USB port. But then the updater didn't recognise my phone at all. So I used the mtty program suggested in some of the threads and I got past the red/green/blue screen but now it's stuck at the Sony Ericson logo, as if WM6.1 is gone.
This is what the red/green/blue screen currently states:
KOV110
SPL-0.78.0000
MicroP1-787
MicroP2-707
From what I gather this means I can't flash roms, right? I tried making it a hard-spl but when I use the tool it says it can't connect.
So is there anyway to get a rom on it and bring it back to life?
Thanks inadvance!
Get an original rom from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
copy .nbh file from the package onto your sd card and rename it to : Kovsimg.nbh then bring phone into boot loader via : vol down + power.
It should flash the rom now. i the problem is still present after that you
have to deal with mTTy but first try the flash...
i think you could also bring phone into bootloader without sd card inserted then connect usb cable, display should now print 'USB',and after that start rom update utility.

Thank you for your reply, I will do as you said although I've already tried something similiar to this. I believe the problem was that I couldn't flash roms from my SD since I don't have the hard SLD. But I will try it anyway as soon as I get home.
In the mean time I would love to hear more ideas about how to fix my phone.

You really need have to flash the HardSPL first as, based in your above post, you still have not done that. It will be useless to flash cooked ROM with that. If you can still power on your phone and you have an activesynch in your computer, i suggest you download the HardSPL first and update your phone using your PC. If you are successful doing that, then you can flash all you want.
original roms will still work with original spl... but nevermind =P

My phone can still power on in the sense that it shows the Sony Ericson logo or that I can access the three collor screen. But it won't launch WM6.1. I also have a problem with updating to hard DSL. It does recognise my phone because without it connected the program finds nothing and with the phone connected it wants to start updating. It says ''updating from image version: (emply) to image version: 1.00.X1 Ipress next and it opens a progress bar on both my X1 and the PC. But it never goes beyond 0% and then gives me an connection error. I think it has something to do with not being able to get passed the Sony Ericson logo. I mean the hard-DSL program does recognise my mobile but activeSync is never active because my PC doesn't recognise a WinMobile phone (since it wont go past the Sony Ericson screen)

Really? That might fix my device then. Could you suggest a rom from the long list? Perhaps one that works on all versions? Because I'm dutch but my mobile has always been in english so I'm not sure what rom version I had. Except that it was identified as an R2 Rom by the Sony updater before it killed my X1...

Alright so I got an R1 original rom (I now realize that the R3's were originals aswell) and it worked! I'm not sure if it was the different rom or the formatting with FAT32 that did but it works again. So I'd like to thank everyone who was kind enough to reply.

DON'T hard-spl if you're going to flash a stock ROM. And especially if you're going to use SEUS.
Try flashing the R3A first. The R1s are way slow, as you've seen.
Hi, i'm totally new to flashing phones etc. I have a tytn II and was running windows 6 on it.
I Flashed it with Hard SPL, and then downloaded TPC 23053 Titanium Ultimate. It's the one on the thread that says you don't need to flash a stock ROM first.
I flashed it and all went fine, booted up and alligned the screen etc. It then rebooted itself then loaded back up. All seemed to be ok, sound and camera wasn't working. In the fourth post of the titanium thread, it says the recommened SPL and radio.
which are Recommended SPL 3.34 Radio 1.70.18.02
So i downloaded both, flashed the SPL and then the radio. Now when i boot i get a black and white image of a tribal kind of dragon. It asked me to setup the phone again so i alligned the screen again. Sound and camera now worked.
However, i was usuing it for a while and then for some reason programs stop loading, it says something like, it's write protected or make sure you have the correct security permissions. When i plug into the pc i can't get anything off the storage card or the phone, it says permission denied.
So when i reboot the phone, it keeps asking me to setup again so i lose all my contacts that i have added etc. I can turn the phone on and off and it's fine, but then eventually does the wierd permissions and access denied thing and when i reboot always asks me to setup the phone.
Can anyone help me as to why this is doing this? I read something about CID unlock etc, is it to do with that because i didn't perform this step.
Not sure why everytime i reboot the phone it asks me to setup the phone again, sometimes it doesn't, it's usually after it stops letting me open programs.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.
Maybe reflash.
You should have posted this in the thread made for the rom.
Thanks for the reply, sorry it's in the wrong place.
Can i flash back to windows 6, is this possible as titanium is 6.5 and do you know where i can find the "stock rom" for the tytn ii.
I think the problem is i didn't flash to stock rom first, but i was already running the stock rom. What was on itwhen i bought it from the shop so it's the same thing isn't it?
Obviously you must have flashed Hardspl and sim/cid unlocked your phone. Upgrade your hardspl reflash with a stock 6.1 rom from the wiki .I know it says that you don't have to flash stock first, but when flashing 6.5 roms, it is always a good to flash stock first to clean out the extended rom.
Flash a stock rom , flash ultimate, hard eset and the set up.
Thanks, i will try it now. I'm following these instructions. Do i need to do all of this including the bootloader, or just to restore the OS to step 2? Also once done do i need to reinstall HardSPL?
1. Get the original ROM for your device (HTC or ATT)
2. Flash the OEM ROM to your device (this will restore your OS but not the bootloader, we'll get to that below)
3. Copy the ROM to a temp folder and extract it, I use WinRAR, just right click on it and select "Extract to Here"
4. After extracting the ROM you should have a several files here, one called RUU_signed.nbh is the one we're looking for. Copy this file to another empty temp directory.
5. Download NBHExtract and follow the instructions in the link to extract the NB files from the ROM (essentially just copy nbhextract.exe to the temp folder where the nbh file is and run it from a command line - like so C:\temp\kitchen\>nbhextract.exe RUU_signed.nbh
6. You should now have several .nb files in that directory, the one we're interested in is the 01_SPL.nb.
7. Now you have to create an NBH file with just the SPL, to do that download htcrt (HTC Rom Tool).
8. Run the tool and under the ROM Builder tab select Kaiser, the rest on the left side doesn't matter right now. On the right side of this window click the "..." next to SPL and select the 01_SPL.nb you extracted from the OEM ROM. This should be the only thing added under Firmware Contents. Click Build ROM.
9. You should now have a NBH file that is relatively small (about 258K), copy this NBH file to a new empty directory
10. Download pof's KaiserCustomRUU.exe and put this in the same directory used in step 9. Don't run this yet.
11. Download pof's SSPL-KAIS.exe and copy it to your phone
12. Run SSPL.KAIS.exe from your phone (make sure you do this on your actual device and not your PC)
13. When you have the bootloader screen on your phone run KaiserCustomRUU.exe from the folder used in step 10.
14. After it's finished verify your SPL by holding down power and camera buttons while doing a soft reset.
15. Send your device back for warranty repair or replacement.
No you don't have to do all that. That is just if you want to restore your phone for warranty return. All you have to do is go to the wiki. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs and download a stock rom to your desktop. Connect your phone and run the RUU and follow the onscreen.
After your phone is flashed with stock, just reflash Ultimate the same way.
First however , enter bootloader , depress camera and power button while soft resetting, and check your spl, if it is still 1.0 olipro , upgrade it first to 3.29 or 3.34 using this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498320
Once your phone is hardspl'd you never have to do it again
Thanks very much for your help. I have 3.29 on there at the moment, should i flash to 3.34, then flash to stock rom, and then to ultimate again.
Or flash stock rom, then 3.34 SPL and then ultimate?

You can do it both ways it doesn't matter since you already have hardspl on your device and basically you are updating the current 3.29 to 3.34 to have a better performance with the ultimate rom.
I downloaded 3.34 SPL, and transfered the 3 files, JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe and JumpSPL1.93-KAIS etc to my device, it then says to take the battery out.
However, when i do this my device hard resets, i have to setup the phone again. Because it hard resets it deletes the 3 files so i can't run JumpSPL1.56
How important is taking the battery out after transferring the files to my device. How can i get round this, shall i just run the file without removing the battery?

No, it's important to remove it. How long are you leaving the battery out for? And was it over 50% charge before you removed it?
I'm assuming you followed steps 1-4 to the letter.
1. Copy JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe, JumpSPL1.93-KAIS.exe and JumpSPL1.94-KAIS.exe to your device memory (NOT STORAGE CARD)
2. Pull out the battery and reinsert it (this step IS important) *DONT turn phone back on yet*
3. REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS!!
4. Turn phone back on and let it boot back into your operating system
It sounds like there could be a hardware problem from all the hard resets happening there. Have you made sure that the reset button at the bottom is functioning correctly and isnt blocked by any dirt etc?

I wouldn't complicate things that are more than clear. The intructions literally says the following: 2. Pull out the battery and reinsert it (this step IS important) *DONT turn phone back on yet*. Just follow them, probably mskip for doing this tutorial spent a lot of time "trial n error". It really won't take anytime to do this step
Yep i follow those steps. I leave the battery out for about 30 seconds as it says. But obviously it hard resets so i can't do this at all as the files aren't there when i put battery back in. I have to set up the phone again.
I suppose i could just flash the stock rom, then see if that works when i remove the battery and then i can update the SPL? soft reset isn't blocked by dirt either.
If that fails i'm stuck with a bad phone

Well yeah... if you had read it all you would know that you are meant to be doing all of this using a stock rom on your device. There's your problem right there.
If you already have hard spl on your phone so you don't need to go through all the steps of flashing hardspl for the first time. Just upgrade the easy way from the SD card.
I have had 3.29 on my phone and have flashed over a hundred times with never a problem, including Ultimate several times. Just try flashing a stock rom first and then Ultimate. Then hard rest and then setup the rom. If i works great, if nt then you can always upgrade your spl later.
Stuntdouble, theres no need to be like that, some people are new to this, and if you had read my previous posts you'll see that i didn't flash to stock rom first, because i'd just got it from the shop, so the stock ROM was already on it. I didn't think i needed to flash it with the same one again first. Thanks for the help though everyone, I've now flashed stock rom, and gonna try ultimate again/
Sorry, but the amount of people on here who don't actually read FAQ's/Stickies before flashing their device don't get much sympathy from me. I think people underestimate the risks involved when flashing for the 1st time. However i've been having a bad day so I apologise for snapping.
Yeah no worries, it annoys me too when there are tutorials yet people can't be bothered and just post asking how to do something. But the only reason i didn't flash a stock ROM was because i got it from the shop so didn't think i needed too.
There is something i would like to know though that i can't find how to do. I'm trying to install 3.34 Hard SPL now, i have 3.29 at the mo. I don't have a card reader unforunatley so can't format my card to FAT32 like it says to if installing from card.
Is there an easy way to upgrade it other than using storage card? Or can i do the same steps as when i first did it. i.e, run the JumpSPL 1.56 but instead of opening the 3.29 KaiserCustomRUU, i open the 3.34 Kaisercustomruu?
I apologise if this info is anywhere, but i've read all the faqs and searched google and can't seem to find a guide on upgrading SPL from 3.29, it only tells you how to first install 3.29.
Thanks.
Off with their heads!
Ok i ran JumpSPL 1.56 and then ran the KaiserCustomRUU of the 3.34 Hard SPL, now when booting i get the dragon spaslh screen, but when i go to bootloader, it still says 1.29.
What am i doing wrong?
Fixed this now, thanks for everyones help appretiated
Dear Readers,
I have a few concerns about my recently bought Htc diamond.
The problem is that during bootup it stays frozen on the Touch Diamond bootscreens.
It has HardSPL Olinex v1.93 on it.
First i flashed back to the Stock Rom, worked fine only a couble of unexpected freezes wich made me think into using Mtty(set 14 0, task 29, task 8) to fully clear the phone and than reflash the NLD rom back on it.
Now flashing the rom went al the way 100%, and Congrats me after that.
I rebooted after that but never goes past the bootscreen with the red info lines.
So i thougt that restoring the SPL 1,93 olinex to factory setting might do the trick. But there is no way to do that since i cant get active sync to connect!
My problems is that although i can acces all bootloadmethods ,the phone is being recognized through USB, and all Rom/SPL flashes goes up to 100%. It still doesnt seem to save that rom on its memory.
and when i check the screens of the CustomRUU program it doesnt show any info add the older software version, only shows the info of the rom wich im going to flash.
If i check the USB icon on the task bar while connected to the pc, it says something like ..Qualcomm CDMA.. etc. ! the phone wasnt a CDMA version!
Any ideas?? is it Fixable or do my cats have something new to chew on??
many thanx,
Jeffrey
Copy any ROM you want to your Internal Storage, rename .nbh to diamimg.nbh, Restart your diamond and than immediately press Vol Down and back button, once in a bootloader press power button to flash rom, once finished restart Diamond, and see if ROM will be installed successfully

What to do with this link??
I got Mtty running but i cant acces internal storage to copy a rom to it, and flashing by USB went all the way 100% but somehow the phone never boots in to the flashed rom.
Even trying a reflash doesnt show any signs of an older Rom being present on the phone memory..
One question about Mtty, when its said to use the ROM flasher i kinda assumed they ment the CustomRUU program. Am i right, or is there some build-in command to Flash a ROM within MTTY??

I had a problem with my phone where I did mtty, but forgot to rename the diamimg.nbh file on my phone. So it wouldn't get passed the bootscreen.
My solution was to connect the phone to the usb, hold down the up arrow(I think it was the up arrow) and soft-reset. It came up with those 3/4 color blocks and said "usb" at the bottom. I then used the official htc ruu(also didn't show the current rom on it) to flash the normal htc rom onto it and it worked. Then I just did the normal procedure to get the custom rom on again.
So are you trying to flash the original HTC rom onto it, or a custom rom? Cause if it's a custom ROM, maybe it's just the radio, not the actual OS?

I tried both custom and Stock Roms several times. After flashing the Stock roms i noticed that the radio version get updated, just no OS to boot!
Since the flashing sequence completes to 100%, i think its strange that the os doent seemed to be copied at all. Is there a possibility that a bad SPL is causing the OS not to be found?? In the Bootloader it still says SPL v1.93 Olinex so i guess its still Hard spl'ed. But when i try connect the phone to pc by usb, it shows up as Qualcamm CDMA device then later changes to HTC...
The Phone is not a CDMA version but i think maybe there is a change that somehow a CDMA SPL accidentlly got uploaded to it. This supposed to cause a phone to brick.
Many thanx for trying to help!

Ok, maybe you can try from scratch to re-flash everything?
You should still be able to HardSPL, by doing the soft-reset+vol down thing.
I'd suggest getting the HardSPL from here(I only used it once, but I know it worked for me):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
Hopefully that alone is what you need but if it isn't, you should then be able to flash a radio onto the phone(there's a link in that thread too) and then the stock HTC rom(I think the stock would have a better chance than anything else)
All of those flashes should be possible by doing the soft-reset+vol down and then using the RUU. Do you know how to use the RUU to flash a HardSPL, Radio and then OS separately?
you should probably try a full mtty just before you flash the OS(just after you flash the radio) as well, do the set 14 0,task 28 and task 29 and then task 8
And regrading Windows picking up your phone as a CDMA, I can't remember what mine said, but I don't think you should worry much about what Windows thinks the phone is.
*Edit, you should follow the mtty guide here for the most part:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290
But the second last step(number 7) where you're required to remove the usb cable, soft-reset+vol down+back button to flash from the internal storage, you should keep the phone connected to the usb and soft-reset+vol down and flash the rom using the RUU

Ok i tried its flashing the Stock HTC NLD rom now aroun 42.. 43%, its slow but atleast still going. This is a big Rom tough.
Two questions:
1. Flashing the hardspl took some time to initiate the progression bar and then suddenly in the blink of an eye from 0 to 100%,
after flashing the hardspl file wich showed in RUU as olinex v 1.40, it still showed SPL.193 olinex on the bootloader.. .. is this common??
2. Is it even possible to downgrade a bootloader?? i would love to have olinex 1.40 back.. i used it before and it worked fine on many roms...i keep thinking my SPL is the problem.
Bye now the Rom flashing finished and it didn't help.. its still frozen.
here is the output from MTTY, may be its usefull:

Did you use the corresponding stockRom (the one with the corresponding spl i mean):
_QMR_RUU_Diamond_HTC_NLD_1.93.404.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship
Just in case you didn't, you can find it over here:

Yes i did try, didnt work for me..
i kinda lose hope now.
Losing a phone sucks, first lost my iphone3g then bought this cheap as a replacement for the remaining contract, And now i really regrets that i tried restoring its stock rom, radio, spl since its really did brick the phone for good..
thanks for all the people that tried to help but i'm not sure if its fixable....
So thanx anyway..
yours,
Jeffrey
