Hey, I have a problem.
I want all my contacts from my Diamond on my pc, so I can put them on my new phone.
Now, I don't have outlook, and can't download it (I'm on smallband, 3kb/s for the win)
My question was, is there anywhere a small application that can retrieve them for me, or are the contacts somewhere in the HTC directory?
Thanks in advance!
if the other phone is a win mobile too use pimbackup

Since I got my kaiser I always saved all my contacts as outlook. Lately I find myself using/testing different phones that are not necesarry WM. Is there a way to copy all your contacts phones on the sim card? Or some kind of interface between different softwares out there Nokia/Sony/Apple?
Thnx
just gonna say, this site is for WM users, specifically HTC device users. now as far as software that allows you to easily transfer contacts from phone to phone, your sim card, you need nothing else just keep all contacts on your SIM and you have your contacts on any phone you use
Thanks and I do appreciate your answer. I am aware xda site caters to WM devices. However I know some ppl here have more than one device and I did hope they know about some kind of soft.
Is there an easy way of transfering outlook contacts onto the sim card?
sim manager can copy all contacts to sim. Depending on the rom, sim manager should be in programs folder. hit menu -> contacts to sim.
if its a windows mobile to windows mobile contact transfer, a simple PIM backup, would do the job. (do a backup on contacts, logs, whatever you want and put that file onto the other wm device)
good luck!
thanks... that did the trick. I do feel stupid sometimes and this is one of those times.
Don't feel that way. I understand your question, and copying to SIM card does not solve your problem if you got more than 200 contacts right? Mine has 900 contacts with mobile phones, work phones, home phones, emails, etc, hence why I used WM device. It's getting overwhelming to manage if I use standard phone.

1st of all, you need a PC with MS Outlook installed.
Synchronize your WM device to PC's MS Outlook (don't ask me how to do this, okay). Then if you have Nokia, you have to install Nokia PC Suite, the latest version if possible (try search nokia website). After that, you sync your Nokia to your PC (using the USB data cable, if you don't have any, find one) also to MS Outlook. So you kind of making MS Outlook as your central repository.
With this I believe you can sync to any phone, provided that the phone has ability to do syncing, has the USB data cable, and has the sync software that can do sync to MS Outlook. That's all the prerequisites, AFAIK. And I can tell you that most synch-er apps is at least compatible with MS Outlook.
It's different story if you use something else, such as: Lotus Notes or whatnots. Then it will be very difficult.
There, hope it helps.

Hi guys,
I had W960i before...i have the backup of the contacts of the phone through SE backup manager...can u guys tell me ,is there any way i can transfer the contacts to my new Diamond..
cos i dont remember the phone numbers now n its difficult to add each n every contacts one by one..
plz guys help me
Try import your contact into the Outlook and edit your contact in Outlook!! Install As and sync.
Or try send the contact via bt. I think SE can send all contact.
or send it via bluetooth.
Hello, it's my first post in this great forum, i'm a total newby to WM6, but looking forward to learn
I'm in the same case, I've got a SE P1i, and will receive my diamond this week. You can create an account to www.zyb.com, then you will be able to synchronize your w960's contacts and calendar over the air with this account, and you can get them on your diamond by synchronizing it with the same zyb account.
That's what I will do as I don't use Windows OS on my PC, and can't transfer by bluetooth as I have only 1 sim card.

Have anyone tried this? Or any other successfull solution?
Transfer by bluetooth keep failing for me...
I used w880i before.
Just i used float's mobile agent ( http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm freeware - best app ever ), i synchronized my mobile via bluetooth, and got my contacts on my notebook, in this application.
Also in fma, when you're in your contact list, you can select the ones you want, and if you right click, you can synchronize with outlook.
Then you can easily plug your Diamond, and use activesync and outlook to manage all your contacts.
That's it

Easiest way!
I have just received my XDA Ignito from O2, I have my old SonyEriksson phone address book saved as a .wab file and want to sync this with the Ignito/Diamond.
It does come bundled with a 'trial' version of Outlook but I don't really see the point in using it if it's just a trial that will run out. Plus I don't want to install Outlook just to sync my contacts!
Are there any free progs out there I can use to do this?
My old SE and Motorola phones came bundled with software that would do everything!
Thanks in advance!
Dave
I have Outlook installed on my machine... and I hate it, always have always will! I only need it for sync'ing my contacts. When I had my wizard way back (in technology terms anyway), the answer I kept getting was NO you can't sync with anything else.
The problem I am having with my contacts (and I have yet to find an answer for it) is that the Diamond/Ignito shows both my sim contacts and the phone contacts. The two lists are the same so when I go into 'all people' everyone is listed twice!
Any ideas anyone?
Matt
I'm till struggling with this. All I find is annoying 'trial' editions of programs that calim various things. When I left Outlook Express behind I assumed I was doing the right thing exporting to a wab file to back it up!
I've even installed OutlookXP now from an old office CD, but it can't import WAB files!! Can the version on the bundled CD?
There must be another way of getting a wab address book onto the Diamond?
I just received the replacement for a faulty AT&T Tilt. I have a ton of contacts and an extensive calendar already keyed in to the faulty Tilt and I was wondering if there was a quick and easy way to transfer all of that data on to the new Tilt without using Outlook Express, which I do not have and do not have much use for. The contacts and calendar are saved onto the phone itself, not the SIM card. Is there anything I can do? Thanks a lot.
BTW, I have Windows XP on my PC.
Depending on how "faulty" the faulty Tilt is, this might work....
Download PPCPimBackup from here onto your PC and use ActiveSync to copy the .EXE onto the faulty Tilt and the new one.
Download MyMobiler from here, install it on your PC and then run it so it displays the screen of the faulty Tilt. Use MyMobiler to load File Explorer and run PPCPimBackup, select to backup just the contacts and calendar. Next, copy the PPCPimBackup backup file via Windows Explorer from the faulty Tilt to your PC, then connect the new Tilt, copy the backup file onto it and then run PPCPimBackup on the new Tilt to restore the contacts and calendar.
Hope that helps
Mark.

Hi. I have the AT&T Tilt with win mobile 6.1, my home computer is an XP based OS. I have on my home computer Outlook Express and have three email accounts witch works great for me. I have searched all over for an outlook CAB for my phone for them both to sync. I would be grateful if someone would respond with a CAB file or a link where I could download what i need. Thanks so much in advance
Typically when you get one of the Window based ppc's it comes with a version of Microsoft Outlook as outlook express is not supported by activesync. you will need to find some other software to sync with outlook exspress you may want to try syncdata
http://www.syncdata.it/
Every phone and PDA I've recieved came with Outlook on cd.
My AT&T Tilt CD and Pocket PC
I have not been able to find outlook on the CD or on my Pocket PC (TILT). I would like for you to find the program on my CD or TILT phone. It's not there... That is why I am looking for the outlook cab. Which I am not able to find either. I did however download the Syncdata. Which did help, and I want to thank you for pointing me in the right direction. But is there an outlook CAB file out there? And please don't tell me it is on my CD which it is not. And it certainly did not come on my TILT preinstalled.
are you sure you didn't find it? it should be poutlook.exe I think there is a repository of original programs (word, excel, notes, etc) in someone's signature. Outlook should be included in there.
Another thing:
