Been toying with my Today screen for ages and am nearly satisfied but after changing the order of a few items on the today screen my 'wireless' plugin no longer works.
It appears on the screen ok, but instead of a press turning the wi-fi/bluetooth on or off, it takes me directly to the 'communications' menu - as if it's locked somehow...
Can anyone help with this problem?
Cheers
Answered my own question. This behavious was because I was using it with the HomeScreen++ - with that re-activated as is well .

I've had my Kaiser a few days now, here's a few problems that i've had... anyone had anything similar?
- Windows Live Today addon stops working... can't scroll left or right
- HTC plugin goes fuzzy... can go into programs/settings, but nothing actually loads up when clicking on it
- After using the phone, the screen goes dim... so i have to manually reset the brightness
- D-pad stops working after using the phone (can't scroll through TXTs/Emails etc)
In most cases i have to reboot to fix :S
I was hoping WM6 would be a lot stabler... but so far it doesn't seem all that great :S
Hi,
I haven't had the problems you have, not even heat yet as has been discussed. Perhaps it's because I am not taxing the unit yet.
However, I have not been able to synch my PC to the Kaiser to yet. Synching pictures, music, TV is not an issue because Windows Media Player is working. It's the Contacts, Notes, Tasks that I cannot synch.
When I open the Windows Mobile Device Center the Connection Settings window opens up with the Allow USB & Bluetooth Connections radio buttons. When I hit OK with both Radio buttons selected (USB & Bluetooth), that's it, the window closes and there's no Windows Mobile Device Center that opens up. Task Manager shows no open Windows Mobile Device Center application but does show a Windows Mobile Device Center process, wmdcBase.exe.
What am I missing here? Please help, 4 days & I still do not have my Contacts in this phone.
This is a duplicate post from lower down.
Cheers,
Phil

Screen goes dim and the start menu does not work. This is because of the password pin set on your phone. If you deactivate it, it should be fine. It's definitely a bug on the Kaiser. There are registry hacks for this, but I have no idea how to get around it.
regarding the screen dimming, I assume this is with the HTC ROM.
My phone has been fine with the latest two AT&T ROMs (the first ROM had this prob, the screen would dim after 10 seconds). You can temporarily fix the problem by resetting the Backlight timeout Settings.. Backlight... Battery Power tab) to something like 1 minute. It will keep getting reset every once in a while though... You can also turn off the backlight timeout completely (unchecking the box), which seems to work longer.
BTW it seems to be a problem with the HTC Home plugin. When I installed the original AT&T ROM but didn't install the HTC Home today plugin, the problem did not happen.
I have seen the D-Pad problem in Outlook only - that is, hang up a call, then d-pad doesn't work to navigate thru email. Once email is open the D-Pad works... Solution is to kill (click x button) Outlook.

Same here, screen dims and startmenu does not work. Issue is I can't deactivate pw (corp security pollicy for pushmail client).
Could someone elaborate a bit on the possible reg hack that could fix this?
Thanks...
Hi
I made a small app that helps overcome this issue by making the phone usable again after a phone call.
You can get install instructions from here with a file a few posts down: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=258974&view=findpost&p=841951
Hopefully it will be fixed by HTC soon so it's just a short term work around.
Regards
Phil
Thanks
That works, thank you very much for your effort!
We'll wait for the HTC fix.

You need Outlook installed to sync those.
Add this - SMS goes bust!
Details are here:

i had a 3g connection with google maps running in background (gps was accurate within 10 feet) and was playing namco's ms. pac-man on the tytn ii rom when device locked up mid game. Power button would put phone into standby, but it was locked up besides. i had to soft-reset.
Cool, do HTC release updated ROMs via their website?
Also, ive had the home plugin going fuzzy and locking up quite a few times now.... definitley more problems introduced since i enabled the 'lock' feature :S
No call button??
On the dialpad is no call button only videocall button???
Am i blind?........
With my phone the 'ok' button (not on the keyboard) doesn't always respond (well). Either to confirm a adjustment or to minimize/close an screen
I have found a pretty simple workaround for the issue with the screen going dim and the start menu not working after a call.
What appears to be happening is that the device is actually locking the screen yet the keypad to unlock is not displayed. So the start menu and such think they are locked. I found that if i simply power my device off and back on the password screen/unlock screen shows up. Unlock it and you are fine from there.
Not really a fix but it will save you a reboot.
Hmm im getting lots of sync problems with Windows Live :S, also my phone 'says' it's connected to 3G/H but then randomly doesnt send texts :S
Really starting to annoy me now!
Hi all, whenever my Kaiser goes to sleep and I turn it back on, it closes whatever app was up, and presents the Today screen.
I am sure I saw a setting to prevent this but cannot find it any more in Advanced Config or Kaiser Tweak.
Anyone know how to make it come out of standby showing the same screen it entered standby with?
Today timeout....... under settings?
No that's something different to what I described.
I was thinking the same thing as grizzley. Can you describe a little more on how it is different than what you described?
My Tilt always comes out of standby to whatever program was running when it went into standby.
That's it really, mine doesn't. E.g. I'm in Calendar, and the device automatically goes into standby after 2 mins. I press the power button and it instantly wakes up, closes calendar, and shows the home screen.
I have seen this option in BatteryStatus but it doesn't have any effect if I tick or untick it.
Yes, I see.
There is also the "Today timeout" setting under Settings>Personal>Today>Items, but I do not think this will help you either.
The only other thing I can think of is maybe you have a Today plug-in that has some sort of "timeout" feature?
Actually, I also have a vague recollection of a setting (maybe in SKTools) that might have been something like "Today screen on resume." But I might be imagining this; I will do a little investigating.
Sorry I can not be more helpful.
I know that many of you have disabled the "Fast Sleep" mode while making a phone call. Well what I'm wanting to do is just the opposite, disable (or lock) the touch screen entirely while making a call. The problem I'm having is that when talking on the phone I always end up touching the screen with my cheek and either accidentally end the call, call someone else, or whatever. I would like to have a utility which would lock the touchscreen maybe 5-10 seconds after a call is established. One of the hard keys or an i-pod type slider function would unlock the screen.
Does anyone know of a utility like this?
I do have the "fast sleep" mode enabled within Kaiser Tweeks. However, while the fast sleep mode turns off the screen to save battery power, it still wakes back up with just a touch.
I have an AT&T Tilt.
I've seen some discussion of S2U2 on this forum, but it appears that S2U2 is a whole new today screen. I would like to keep my today screen unchanged. I only want the screen to lock during a call.

It is a lock not a today replacement. That is what I use.
Thanks parleyp, I guess I'll give s2u2 a try. The info that I've seen just seems rather complicated when all I need is a simple lock utility. Why is there discussions on s2u2 affecting the weather tab, clock display, background, etc?
Which version are you using on your tilt?
Would you be interested in something like that??
If so search for opal dialer in kaiser Rom development subforum.
I am fairly certain that you can just press the "power" button and shut the screen off. When you are ready to hang up, just hit the end button. This is not automatic, but it works for me.
yea, i was gonna say: what's wrong with just pressing the power button?
Hello All... a lurker, finally a poster
Loaded windows 7... thanks guys, much faster.... loaded as per instructions all looks sweet...
however I seem to have refresh problems on the desktop in w7... screen goes black when sleeping and when it wakes up it does not refresh, have to write click and refresh desktop, taskbar also has the same problem...
anybody else got this problem and anybody with a solution?
TIA
I've got this problem too, but no solution. Seems to really only occur in the 1024x600 mode though.
I've got the same issue, doesn't bother me much though.. it is kinda annoying when you have to tap certain parts of the screen just to get it to show up.
It's a general problem with Win 7 on screen resolutions greater that 1024. You may fix it by disabling screen shuting down / by enabling screensaver!
sort of fixed it.....
turned off the power saving function that turns the screen off and turned the screen save on to display a blank screen.
so semi-fixed....
simple workaround
just double click on the W7 "show desktop" button (right-down corner of your taskbar)
this button is allways on the same place, so it also works "blind" with a black screen (and will refresh the full screen also from powersaving)
Hi Guys,
Wasn't sure on what search terms to use, but have looked through the last 40 pages of posts to no avail.
When using the Xperia X1, if the screen is dimmed, touching only serves to 'wake up' the screen backlight again, requiring a double tap to do anything. With the HTC Touch Pro, this is not the case. Is there a tweak or something I can put in place to get my touchscreen to respond when backlight is dimmed?
Second question, is there a way to maintain wifi connection when you power the screen on the phone down? I use this phone to demonstrate portable connections to surveillance equipment, but hate having to wait for it to reconnect to our local wireless.
Regards,
Hayden Katz
The first question has been discussed before, but I don't remember if a solution was found or not.
The second one is easy. Download Advanced Configuration Toll. There is an option somewhere in there .
