I recently purchased a arm band for my Sprint HTC Touch Pro and it is going to be in a sleeve. Is there some software which I could play a list of songs and it wouldn't stop and disable my screen without pressing the power button?
Just figured I would show my support for this question.
The inability to turn the screen off makes it pretty much worthless for the only time I'd ever want to play music.
Try touchlock pro. and just lock screen.
i just use the touchflo 3d player, does the trick for me create your playlist with media player (fastest way for me to do this was to put my workout tracks in a folder played them in media player and just saved the list.)

Slightly off topic, but where did you buy your armband, and do you like it so far?

my sol'n to this was to use stereo bluetooth. after the music starts playing just scroll back to home (or any other tab), then press the power button to put the screen to sleep. when pausing/playing using A2DP, the screen will come back on, so it'd be a good idea to install something like S2U2 that locks the screen, otherwise you may accidentally press something.
i believe you can use S2P with S2U2 as well, but that seems to be playing through WMP instead of the tf3d player. creating a playlist is more troublesome with wmp
I use Coreplayer with an HTC Diamond Skin. It works well, looks good, and will continue to play with the screen off. If you're interested I can post the skin.
WM
I use the normal Windows Media Player which comes with WM6.1, and it shouldn't turn off the music when you turn off your screen.
Well, as long as you use headphones, and not the devices' speakers.
Mine no longer does this. . I've flashed many ROMs since, maybe I got lucky with one of the ROMs but it would shut off even when using bluetooth stereo.
Now it's cool!
Nitrogen is pretty good music player and also has a button to turn off the screen while keeping the music going.

I think my Diamond can get a bit faster. I used TF3D Config and then noticed something interesting: It seems like TF3D gets a bit of a boost if I use less Tabs. So I decided to delete some tabs which I don't use often. For example the internet tab - I simply put an Opera shortcut on the program tab and done.
Now to the music thing..
I was wondering if there is might be a way to enjoy music on the diamond without the candy and sometimes unhandy Music tab on TF3D. I like the Windows Media Player from WinMo, cause its very basic but opens with a very usable archive-view which shows my music. So i think its cool if we put the media player with a shortcut on the program-tab and get rid of the TF3D Music Tabs.
...But to things are somehow disturbing:
1. The Media Player isn't that cool when it comes to mp3 tags, so I need a small app which let me edit tags on my music files
2. Of course, to make this idea work, we need a black media player skin which suits into the interface. Don't know where to get this. It should have eyecandy things like showing the albumcover, huge buttons for tapping with the finger, or less buttons plus a concept how to configure the diamond buttons with the media player.
Any ideas how to solve this? Or are you all satisfied with the TF3D Music functionality?
Im not satisfied with TF3D as a whole, mainly because of the music tab.
So I use PocketMusic. For me this is how music on the pda is supposed to be.
TF3D music player is not for nomad use. The interface is cute, but really not made for an everyday use.
I've tried a lot of music players on my diamond.
The 3 best ones in my opinion are :
1) Conduits Pocket Player (has a WMP-like skin, btw)
2) MortPlayer
3) PocketMusic.
Each one has pros and cons. Though, the huge amount of config options in Pocket Player and MortPlayer allows quite good things, much more than with PocketMusic.
Though, I still haven't found a way to correctly map my volume buttons with any of these three apps (see my other post about this issue).
The best combo I've got for the moment is AEBPlus + Pocket Player : Long Press DOES work for volume buttons, but inhibits them in TouchFlo.
Pocket player has some cool features, I agree, but in my opinion pocketmusic simply has the best sound.
Whats a good Media Player like the one on HTC TruFlo3D?
I dont like the S2P also, its a crappy iphone knock off, no offense to the developer but this is coming from someone who had a iphone.
i also try lookin for the HTC Audio Manager and some how i think i downloaded the wrong ver cuz it was rather small on the my screen.

its been asked and answered several times before and varies from person to person....alot recommend coreplayer...
coreplayer is to complex. am looking for something simple but with alot of functionality, am coming from a iphone so am looking for a audio player along that line, so far i like the HTC TouchFlo3D player but thats only enable when u have touch flo on, if i disable touch flo am stuck without music
Players
Mort player maybe? It has some simple layouts and deep features if you dig into it.
I use the WMP most of the time. Simple and already there.
What I would like is a app the sends playback control commands to WMP while another app like GPS is in the foreground. Something like butler that would use swipe L and R (on the joypad surface not the screen) for prev and next track, maybe swipe up to toggle play/pause and down for next play list or album? That would not interfere with most apps and would put and end to 95% of my task switching.
If you're coming from an iPhone and are expecting similar software, there really isn't any. You'll just have to go out and get an iPod Touch. It's not that WinMo media players are worse, they're just different, so if you can't get used to having something different you probably won't find anything you like.
As always, searching is good. To get you started, look for CorePlayer, TCPMP, Conduits Pocket Player, or MortPlayer.
I now have the phone for a couple of months now. I am now starting to listen to music on my phone but the problem I have, I can't get the music to play the next song which is in line. I play one song than it repeats over and over. Oh yeah I use the window media player and I'm trying put all the songs on a play list but I don't know how to get them there. Can somebody help me?
Can somebody just guide me as if I am a noob and don't know what I'm doing? Well actually I am a noob but please can somebody help me! Thank you
I would recommend getting a proper music player like "Pocket Player" or "Pocket Music". You can get free players as well. "Mortplayer" and "S2P" are great.
About WMP. Did you check:
wmp ---> menu ---> shuffe/repeat
Maybe you have clicked on repeat by accident?
where can I get the pocket player or pocket music from?
I tried the repeat and shuffle thing but even if I click the button that is suppose to play the next song doesn't play. I can click the previous button but it replays the song.

Nitrogen is a good music player too.
The link you have provide. I downloaded it and transfered it to my phone and now its saying I can't in stall it. It says 'PocketPlayerSetup' is not a valid Pocket PC application.
You've probably downloaded the windows executable. If you want to use that then ensure you have your phone connected and Active Sync is started and execute the program from your windows PC. Otherwise look for the .cab file from the server and install that from the phone.
Interesting .. I've just yesterday looked for a decent player .. and I have found this:
Nitrogen player: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-nitrogen-player.html
It's rather simple, but it has all I need, like album art, and it can play folders (I hate making playlists), and it has nice finger controls. It can also play with screen off and HW buttons still active.

Cool. The nitrogen player is working great. Thanks
GS Player .
I had forgotten about it. Very useful despite its win 95/98 looks .
It has equalizer, effects, etc. and more options and tweaks than you can imagine.

It'a really a gr8 player.Nice sound and volume higher than the default players - I have installed 6.1 v16 x1 rom by touch it.
Actually I have some problems with it. I mean one problem. Sometimes it clicks. It's like once per 5 minutes, but the playback is just not perfect. I had the same problem with CorePlayer, but there using higher thread priority solved it.
Nitrogen does not have such option, but the problem seems to be the same. If I change the priority for all 4 nitrogen threads in the task manager, it works fine.
Guess I will write to the author to provide that option.
If I'm not usung MediaPanel,
I admire LCGJukebox - simple look, skinnable,
all needed functions (Also EQ however I never use it...)
Absolutely gr8. And plays folders.
Hi,
Everytime i need to change a song , i have to open xperia out of pouch and change, Sometimes this feels irritating
Can there be a app which changes songs in media player upon clicking call recieve button in the wired earphone....?
Not sure why your X plays songs one at a time... is it your settings that are set to play one at a time? Every player I used plays them one after another, in the order you specify or shuffle or according to playlist or whatever... I can't say I ever had to physically advance songs. I listen to mine over the bluetooth and the phone is in my bag, would feel pretty peeved if I had to dig into my bag every time I need to get to the next song, especially if I am driving. So check your settings.
I think he wants to use the handsfree/headset button to as a fastforward button so he can skip songs.
I think someone put up a mortscript of that for the HTC media player, but I'm not sure where it's posted.
In that case there is always an HTC remote handsfree. Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-RC-E100-3-5...066569?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item27b4901749
Thanks harveydent, enigma1nz for your reply,
Sorry for my bad english,
harveydent descibed it right, I want an app which forwards songs through earphone,
not sure whether HTC earphone works fine for xperia x1a windowsmediaplayer/pocketpcplayer/S2P player
I've been a fan of Samsungs Music app for a long time now but the new music player app on the Note 4 is bothering me.
I like to keep my phone in landscape mode in the car. When I pick a song to play, it puts up "suggestions" for me on the side. Previous players didn't do that, if I picked an album it would give me the list of the album on the side not "suggestions".
I can't figure out how to turn it off, is there a way to turn "suggestions" off?

Hmm. I don't see anything. All I see is the album art on the left and list of songs on the right.
Hi rosedog, did you find a solution. I hate the suggestions. I'd prefer the album list as well
