backing up my mogul - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

I am absolutley certain this has been asked before and yes i did do a search.
what do i use to back up my contacts etc. Active sync has this retarded warning that says there has been a change on my server and all changes since last sync will be lost!!
what kind of crap is that? I have contacts in there that i need since my last sync. what do i do?
I am trying to back up all my info because i just got a touch pro and want to put all info on the new phone
thanks
K

theres a really amazing program called PPCPIMBackup.
search for that.
it backs up contacts, appointments, etc. all from the phone, directly to your SD card.
just run program when you want to restore, hit restore instead of backup, and select the restore file created when you backed it up.
literally done in 5 minutes or less.
if you cant find the program, ill try to upload it later when i get off work.

ah nvm, i got it.
here you go homey.

ahh thanks alot kuz

I agree, I keep the PPCPIMBACKUP.exe on my sd card and I just switched over to a Fuze from a tilt, all I had to do was backup all my stuff ( texts, contacts, ect) on my tilt and restore it on the Fuze and I never lost a thing! Great program!

worked BEAUTIFULLY!!!!!
thanks a million
so can i use this to back up my info once in a while instead of active sync?
I really hate AS

how to retrieve deleted contacts?

ive searched and cant find the answer to my question. anyway how can i retrieve deleted contacts? for some reason my contacts were deleted so i tried to sync with outlook and copy contacts from outlook but now those are gone too. please tell me there is a way to retrieve them.
Did you do a backup recently? If you have a backup you'll be okay. If not, well maybe someone else can help ya.
As far as I know once they are gone there's no way to bring they back. Next time get PPCPimBackup. Keep it on your storage card in a folder marked backup. It backs up contacts, calendars, and other info onto your memory card. so if you lose everything you can restore it immediately.
Actually if he did a sprite back up with the contacts on his phone he'll be okay. Otherwise you can go into xp & do a system restore. You'll be okay. Just slow down & be patient. I'm sure you either have a ppc back up with the cotacts or XP system restore enabled, right?
i did not do a backup recently. i usually just sync with outlook to have another copy of my contacts. i can try to xp system restore. did not think of that. thanks.
No problem. Yeah, it's a pain & I had to sys restore from losing them a few yrs ago w/ Wireless Sync. Just make sure your device doesn't overide your desktop after you sys.m restore or you'll come full circle.

i did a system restore and my contacts do not come back.
check yr outlook's "deleted items", there could be a copy over there.
thanks everyone. i found a copy of the outlook archive on a flash drive i used to transfer info between work, school, and home. got most of my contacts back. now i guess my question is switch between phones for big parties to avoid losing or breaking my tilt so i copy my contacts to the sim. how do i get it to copy in the same format as in outlook? ex. in outlook the names are filed as first and last but when its copied to the sim its filed as last and first.
I usually find items deleted during synchronization in the Deleted Items folder.
Gosh! You've replied to a thread which has died seven years ago, dealing with active sync/outlook.
Wonder if the hint you've given will be any remedy here at all

sprite backup problem

I backed up with sprite backup using the stock at&t rom, then flashed to l26s new rom and now sprite backup only reloads some of my settings and my damn contacts are gone. Is there a way to manually extract the contacts out of the sB backup file also why does activesync think that i dont have outlook installed The damn window is open right beside it and it still says install outlook any help would be appreciated thanks ahead of time
did you check out the MIGRATION settings in the backup menu under options? you can choose to migrate your settings to another device (it migrates call logs, contacts, calender, tasks and categories...better yet for contacts to never fail and to always be updated is to use an exchange server for your pocket outlook email (i use a free one called mail2web i dont know what id do without it, push email is far superb over pop3)
well that would have worked before i backed up but doesnt help much now. thank u . i dont use email on my phone i just lost a lot of phone numbers. I just need to find a way to get to the phone numbers again. syncing with outloo didnt work because it says outlook isnt installed

Arghhh lost my contacts!!!!

Hi all,
Just recently i re-formatted my hard drive on my laptop and put vista back on it. Now i went to connect my Diamond to the laptop...it downloaded some updates etc and installed and also installed the windows mobile device center.
Anyways the phone synched but it didnt give me a chance to specify where and what i wanted synched etc. So anyways it seems like all my contacts that were on the phone have gone missing...which annoys me to no end as i had no back up. Usually i have my contacts backed up on my outlook email program.
Now it must have synched the contacts somewhere but for the life of me i cannot find where. So does anyone have any ideas as to where my contacts have gone??. They arent on the sim card as i usually keep them on the phone memory. Ive checked through the phone memory...checking through all the files and cant see where they have gone...they have obviously been taken off the phone when the stupid thing decided to synch itself before i had a chance to stop the synch. I dont know how it synched because it only installed the microsoft stuff after the first synch.
Anyways really hoping someone can help as i cannot afford to lose all these contacts that i have had on the phone...
I would say that it synced all your contacts from your laptop to the Diamond i.e. nothing. It is usual to sync this way when first connecting.

Did you never synct your contacts with any Gmail or MSN account, or did you never create a backup of your system with SPB backup, if you have then there must be a way to import them again in Outlook and sync them to your phone, an other way maid be easy recovery, with this program you maid be able to find your .pst back at your harddsik important is that you install as less as possible during the time you didn't found it back cause everytime you install something at your pc the possebillity to overwrite the .pst files gets bigger.

I did something very similar and learnt my lesson the hard way. Good news was I recovered quite a few contacts from old phone and even better news is that I've cut down my contact list to people I actually contact, rather just accumulate!

Backup just the contacts for the Tilt

I will be getting a replacement phone and have alot of information on my contacts like the address, emails, etc.
Is there anyway I can backup just the contacts and reinstall all my programs?
The reason is that I want to make sure that my installed programs are not causing my problem.
Please help! Hate to have to re-enter in all my contacts again and address/emails.
Either sync your phone with Outlook, or use a program like PIM backup.
Here ya go buddy

Just what you want to, backup your contact/calendar/messaging data.

This appears to be in the wrong thread...

Accidentally deleted ALL contacts, appointments, etc. Recoverable??? Help...

I'm screwed, I can't believe this happened. I reformatted my PC. Installed fresh and clean version of Outlook. Installed MS ActiveSync. The very FIRST thing I did was set the ActiveSync options to have the PHONE replace OUTLOOK, thinking this will put all my contacts, calendar appointments, etc back in outlook. For some unexplained reason, that setting was ignored, and when I synced it, it deleted everything from my phone. A years+ worth of information I can't get back. So my question is:
Is there any way to recover all my lost phone numbers, appointments, etc? Or am I really SOL? I'm praying perhaps there's some file recoverable file on the phone or... I don't know. Help!
go to the recently deleted folder or something like that on outlook - this happened to me and luckily they were all in a deleted folder on outlook on my pc so check there
It was a fresh install of windows, and thus a fresh install of outlook. It was because outlook was completely 100% empty, that it erased (overwrote) everything I had on my phone when it synced. Hence there is nothing in the deleted folder...
ugh, I've done this by accident myself...
This doesnt help you now..
but it will help you from doing it again.

Did u make a backup somewhere else, like PPCPIMBackup or Microsoft MyPhone?
I don't think you can get the data back...
But I don't know why it delete your data. I reinstall my PC many time, and when I sync with my X1, the outlook copy data from phone, it doesn't delete anything.
Poor you....

Yeah, so did I, so I was shocked that the setting "Replace Outlook data with phone content" didn't take. Backup in spades and don't make the same mistake I did. I'm still crying from what I lost
