Hi
I am looking for the latest ROM (WM 6.5 or otherwise) that will work on O2 (UK) please. Currently using 3.29.206.0 WWE (05/09/08) / 1.65.16.25 but Messenger on WLive doesn't work (unable to start conversation).
Any help would be much appreciated.

you are in wrong place.
3.29 is the latest official O2 UK ROM : http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs
If you want WM6.5 you have to use a cooked ROM as it is not officially out yet : [Getting Started]

He/she asked for an original o2 rom ,so why ask for wm6 or cooked roms, why not try searching? Then you will find out that NOBODY has released a wm6 rom for the Alpine
there's no wm5 or wm6 for Alpine.... no no no!!!

Correct, there is no newer version, only cooked versions of WM2003.

The qtek2020 is a Himalaya NOT an Alpine, your ROM will either not install or will brick the device.

There will never be a official ROM for the XDAII (Qtek 2020 or what name it was also sold), because the device does not met the official minimum Hardwarerequirements of Microsoft (was the same with Windows Mobile5). Nevertheless we all know, that a reduced WM5 or WM6 works perfect with XDAII. Try one of the latest versions like .... (i don't want to favourize one of them). keep a Download of the original WM 2003 (1.72) for a recovery. Be careful with your data already in the device synchronize with your Computer that you can recover your data.
What can happen is that some additional Apps are not running with the newer OS, if you installed additional Apps check first if they are working with WM5/WM6/WM6.1 or if there are Updates available.
Where could I download the the original ROM for HTC Touch HD? I flashed a cooked ROM in my HD but I need to put the original ROM back.

I had the same problem. Wanted to go back to stock after trying out a few cooked ones, but could not find this version anywhere.
Instead I'm now using the newest Hong Kong WWE version.

If the staff decides to go by the book, then the answer is no. However, some staff members in HTC service centre are quite liberal, or may be quite unaware of what you have.
It may be my own imagination. I feel that 1.14XX Rom is faster than 1.19xx.
Would be real nice if someone is able to upload the stock 1.14X WWE ROM.

So I have the 4 RAW files but I'm not yet sure how to properly rebuild an NBH.
I'll try today and keep you informed.
By the way, I also feel the 1.14 faster!

Thank god. Whatever you do, don't throw them away. I also had this ROM on my HD and forgot to make a dump of it. So when you are ready, please dump it here becuase this specific ROM can't be found anywhere.

Yes it works, but it hasn't radio rom.
I tested. It is 1.14.401.3 (22273) WWE 11/12/08 rom, CE OS 5.2.20757 (Build 20757.1.4.0).

this is a uk version and the one 1.14.401.3 is the wwe europe version

I tested this rom for the last month and works perfectly. But is very important to use radio version 1.11.25.01 and SPL 1.40. If you don't use this, rom crashes.

hi i an a chainese boy! i also use alpine in china we call it dopod 699!
the reason for this question is :in china alpine does not on sell becouse it has
WIFI ! everybody know that about most o2 produced by dopod! you can see wm6.1 on o2 2020(also on sell in china )!even it made more earlier .
