Which Dutty Xtreme should i be using ? I am a noob - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hi all,
It is nice to see all Blackstone users gathered togather and made alot of improvement over the standard ROM.
I was managed to use the HardSPL method to flash the Dutty Xtreme 2.6 MSVC version. But I saw some posts saying people are using the Dutty Xtreme 2.4 instead ? So, which is the official one to use ?
I had some problems with 2.6, almost every second if I restart the phone by press the Power button for few seconds then re-power on again, the phone tends to stuck at the Windows Mobile 6.1 boot screen and cannot proceed further, I need to re-start the phone again and wishes it to boot properly. On top of the Xtreme 2.6, I also installed TomTom and Chinese Language pack. Maybe I shouldn't install the language pack, but I need it to read some Chinese website. Please note, I am not critising Dutty Xtreme rom, but maybe I was not using the official version of Dutty Xtreme.
Also, does anyone knows if I want to reverting back to using the HTC Official rom from their website, how to revert it back ?

Please ask in the relevant thread.

help getting touchflo on at&t tilt

Hi all,
I have a AT&T Tilt with radio 1.27.12.11 as default. I followed the instructions on how to unlock and install custom ROMS on the phone. I have installed dutty's rom for now.
I found this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUvV1ZZAzcw
If you jump to 3 minutes in, does anyone know what ROM this is to get this interface? I would like this interface. The video author does not seem to mention it
Thanks!

Pretty much all new ROMs contain M2D take a look @ the Kaiser ROM Development and read the first page of the ROM thread then if your going to flash read more so you can know how to solve any issues that may have already been covered.
try to avoid the 6.5 hybrids due to some bugs between outlook/exchange that haven't been resolved yet. If you don't need email access then I recommend AthineOS's newest M2D release a couple days ago, Fast and stable with that 1 minor exception. I see this bug in other 6.5 releases.
you can always search out the manilla2d thread in the general forum I believe it is.. I am using a Kaiser rom by -G- that did not come with it preinstalled so I Was able to choose my interface & set it up myself using the v22 m2d instead of the v18 that most of the roms still contain.. I Dont think you even need to flash your rom to add m2d if you just install the cabs, someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe manilla2d is just a kick anus today screen plug in..

i had no idea orange even release updates for Touch HD, i wouldnt even try it
Any one tried this yet?
I'm downloading it, its worth a look, can always flash back to 1.56
Just flashed, strange... The splash screen says:
Smart Mobility
Test Only
Not For Sale
ROM verion 1.59.61.1 (48753)
uses radio 1.14
wm6.1 build 20769.1.4.5
Opera Version 9.5.16703
AGPS is enabled by default.
seems ok for a stock rom
youtube player is pretty decent, didn't stop once during a 4 min video
no activesync popup like the old ones
I'm just away to try blackberry connect on it to see how it goes
thank you for the ROM
Thank you for the ROM! It says on boot (just under the smart mobility part)something like "test version, not for sale". Obviously, it's made out of very old "components" (TouchFlo 1.3, etc) but, to be honest, this ROM is quite fast, and more important (for me) there's no lag on input keyboard, I almost forgot how good it is, without lag when typing
I think I may keep this for a week or two and see how's going. Right now I think it's the fastest ROM that I ever saw on Blackstone.

How do I get rid of the "Test Only".... I flashed this ROM, didn't like it and then flashed Dutty's R12 but the Test Only is still there.
I saw someone mentioned something about an nbh file elsewhere but not how to get it.
Thanks
This is Touch Flo 3D Version 1.3.37395.3_1630.38 from Windows 6.1 Professional CE OS 5.2.20769 and ROM version 1.59.61.1 (48753) WWE dated 06/10/09. Its is a very old rom but my word is it quick!
Seriously this is quick.
H
It does however come with a program called "video player" which is version 05.20.25.01 and possibly quite old, however its is excellent at playing judder free video recorded on the HD!.

6 resets still haven't cleared it
you shouldn't flash new rom if you don't know exactly about it
I'm taking a guess here (just a user, not a chef), but perhap's Dutty's Rom doesn't change the splash screen, but other ROMs might?
maybe, try miri rom 6.5 with orange splash screen
tried tricolour blue 6.1 and miri 6.5 26.3 and no joy
reinstalled HSPL 1.56 and no joy!
damn you orange, its the latest official rom for my phone (bought on UK Orange originally)
Of all the possible problems that can happen during the countless roms I've tried eg sd card missing, bricking etc, I can't believe that its an official rom thats giving me problems ! unbelievable
Why would they put this crap on it.
Try an official 1.56 rom.
I don't know if this would help?

Miri is known for making light and fast ROM's... He doesn't bloat them with a lot of third-party software. They've always been very fast for me, much faster than the original ROM's from HTC.
Edit: Miri's thread with his 6.5 ROM's, with or without TF3D 2.1 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493911

Having difficulty downgrading from WM 6.5 to WM 6.1 (SPL Issue)

Hi
I just bought a 2nd hand HTC Touch HD and it came with WM 6.5 already installed. I didn't like it cos it wasn't the official ROM so I decided to downgrade it back to the original WM 6.1 ROM. So I downloaded the official ROM and downgraded it back to WM 6.1. However, after a reset now, I'm having the "green screen" problem where the screen colours go bizarre every time I reset the device and after switching the device on/off it gets back to normal.
I then discovered that the SPL and ROM numbers need to match. My device's current SPL version is 1.56 and the ROM version is Orange 1.19.61.1. So how do I downgrade my SPL to 1.19?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Everything about flashing you'll find HERE
I agree (but it's just my opinion ;-)), that 6.1 suits better for HD, but I think that there are lots of better ROMs than stock and everything you can find on xda-developers (I prefer kwbr's Topix based on WM6.1 (3.5 or older 3.1.2) - they are one of the most up-to-date WM6.1 ROMs)
i agree with the post above. if you want to go back to 6.1, try the latest topix 6.1 version.
just as fast as the original ROM, but with lots of newer features

Downgrade To W.M 6.1

How To downgrade w.m 6.5 To w.m 6.1 ?
I Search All The Fourm , But Not Find Anything ..
down a 6.1 rom
Your search was flawed.
If you really searched, you would find this: Blackstone Wiki with all informations you need.
download a 6.1 rom you like, do task29 first and flash it.
read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377 and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653604

It's so easy! if you have already done HSPL, and I'm sure you've done it before, if you have wm6.5 now
I by myself several times switched between 6.5.x & 6.1, all you have to do is to download a ROM of WM6.1!
here below you can see some of them!
1. Topix 3.5 WM6.1 Manila 2.1
2. Park Basic 1.3
3. Cloudy 0.2
4. Black New III by Kenia
And USPL will do nicely - my HD is working proof...
Performing Task 29 would not be bad idea if device was flashed often.
I recommend to flash latest stock 6.1 ROM you can find for your device. If not, latest Orange UK will be pretty good choice, due to later version of radio (1.14).
AFAIK, Park Basic is discontinued...
I would suggest to flash a stock ROM since it already has 6.1 and then flash a 6.1 ROM of your choice. I've experienced issues when i downgrade from 6.5 to 6.1 sometimes.
Just to be on the safer side, flash the stock rom and then flash the 6.1 rom of your choice.
I would suggest to flush stock rom and to stay with it The last one for ORANGE is a perfect rom imho

A guide for downgrading already exists. Just scroll down to the ottom of the first post in this thread
Reservations about Orange ROM
Hi, I wouldn't use the Orange ROM. I spent some time getting rid of it. Main drawback is the AGPS. It insists on making a data call everytime you want to use GPS software. Also, no Google mobile map, and when downloaded from Google, no satellite view. I would recommend the standard HTC 1.56 ROM, that uses just GPS and is just as quick.
Regards
Mike
I have Garmin and Igo software working flawlessly. No data calls made ever. GPS works fine. I dont use googlemaps so no opinion on that
I made a 6.1 ROM a while back.. check my "Energy" thread for it.

Well, a-GPS can be easily disabled, so that's no big deal. There are several tools to do that here on forum, like HD Tweak. And you HAVE TO disable it if using iGO...
But standard ROM is also not a bad idea... not bad at all...

Can't agree more With all due respect and gratitude to the cooks and the hard work and efforts they put into their roms, for a basic user like me the stock rom turns out to be the best and Ive tested quite a few custom ones.
