Hi,
I tried to install Ubuntu UNR and I guess that has done some problem with MBR and my Shift-HDD.
I tried to do a FN+3, but it shows a message as "Invalid Hidden partition's boot sector data. Please restart and try F3 again. (69304410) (128)"
I tried to fo FN+10, and new copy of Windows 7. In the drive format/selection screen... it shows a message "ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's bios".
I tried to load default from BIOS - still same problem.
Kindly help.
I tried the search - but it was not helpful at an urgent search. If there is any link / advice... pleasee.......
The panic button is off...
I tried to boot and install Windows 7 again. I went into the repair mode. I saw the COMMAND PROMPT there.
I tried DISKPART and did a format of the HDD disk as in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=474985
I restarted... and it is allowing me to install Windows 7 now. It is in progress in my SHIFT.
Hope this would be resolved
Thanks Thanks Thankkkssssssssssss

Hi
I have tried the dummies guide concerning updating the HTC USB drivers but had a couple of issues:
1. If I press F8 during the boot process I get an abreviated version of the bois setup which has no selection for turning off digital signing of drivers. I have an ASUS motherboard so to enter the bois I press the DEL key. Whilst in the bios I can see no option for turning off the digital signing. The instructions in the thread simply don't work.
I have done some searching and found web pages that explain how to enter the command window, paste 2 or 3 lines of text to turn off digital signing and put W7 64 bit into a sort of test mode. I have done that and have "Test Mode Windows 7600" in the bottom right corner of my Desktop. I still can't install the HTC USB driver as it brings up an error due to being not signed.
Without installing the new driver I cant change my ROM. There must be others in the same boat having changed to Windows 7. Please help.
Ok a few things:
I'm on windows 7 x64 build 7600, I'm having NO problems, just connect your device in windows let it connect with active sync
Then de-connect your blacktsone, shut it down, and hold volume down button then press start up, it will now start in bootloader mode
Now re-connect and wait for it to get installed by your pc!
If you really DO need htc drivers
Go into your bios
Turn of any quick booting AND turn off full logog display
When windows is starting AFTER the bootscreen you'll get a screen with some sort of TABLE in it with all your hardware and all they're IRQ's
at THIS moment when you see this table press f8
Then you get a boot menu
and you can follow your guide with turning off the signed drivers etcetera!
Great Greet Giblet
wow dude, treat me like the idiot I am. Step by step please.
"Then de-connect your blacktsone" - i guess you mean take out the USB cable?
I wait for it to get re-installed but nothing happens whilst in bootloader and the word serial stays at the bottom of the screen
OMG
Oh my god, I am really frustrated becuase I managed to get it to work with your help but I don't know how. I must have tried everything 10 times without luck then all of a sudden it worked.
If only I knew what I was doing wrong I could pass it along to the next poor sap.
Thanks for your help.

Some options to get a new ROM on your device:
Alternative Option: Run ROM from storage card (this requires HSPL on your device)
- Connect your phone to your pc with the usb cable
- Choose Disk Drive option on your phone when presented with the choice.
- Extract the downloaded rar and if not called BLACIMG.nbh rename the romfile to that (ruusigned.nbh is commonly used so rename when so)
- Copy the BLACIMG.nbh to your phone's storage card via Windows Explorer where it should show up as an removable harddrive.
- Disconnect your phone from the pc once copy has finished.
- Shut down your phone.
- Press Volume Down (left top of phone) and keep it pressed while pressing the Start button (on top of phone) once.
- The bootloader (red, green, blue, white screen) will now start, it will detect the new rom file and ask you if you want to update your current one.
- Confirm and follow instructions on screen
Done.
As for your unsigned drivers i can offer some tips:
- Press F8 after you have seen all your hard drives recognized in the bios bootup screen but before you see the Windows Logo.
- F8 might be set as a bootselector menu by your motherboard manufacturer, if this gets in the way of trying the get to the F8 options from Windows you can disable it in your BIOS (to enter press del)
- If you have Windows 7 Ultimate you are entitled to XP-Mode which is basically a built in virtual machine of Windows XP within Windows 7, some people have been succesfull connection their phone to that XP installation and were able to update via it.
Hope this helps. together with the previous poster's comment you should come a long way, good luck.

Oh lol, guess you just managed, grats on that. for future you could try the alternative option i posted, works garanteed irregardless of operation system.
Solution found, thread closed
In future try posting such queries in the Dummies guide: updating HTC USB Sync Drivers thread. Thats what its there for
I have a Nextbook tablet that belongs to a friend. It has Windows 8.1 on it. He told me it wouldn't turn on. It turned on for me but it promted for a password which he didn't remember so I went ahead and did a system (external ) reset. I followed the instructions from the Nextbook website. Windows will not boot up now. What happens is I push the power button, it powers on , goes to logo on the screen then says "setting up a few more things...2%...". Then 2 error messages come on (see below) and it wont go any further. ..Endless loop. The Nextbook does not have a normal USB plug.(just a small one) It does not have a dvd drive. This is just a tablet with a detachable keyboard. Any new ideas on this would be great. I would like to fix the memory issue and reinstall the Windows, but , how? Thank You in advance!

Hello guys I've lost windows 10 after flasshing the rom only erasing system, there is any form to recover it without installing it other time ?
Thanks
Is easy to recover - and windows booloader dissappear only if you are installing from iso .
I'm working to fix it .
You can make a bootable USB stick using Rufus and selecting GPT..., boot from this USB (overide by BIOS) and when installation starts, press NEXT and then Repair this Computer. Go to TRoubleshooting and Advanced Settings and go to command prompt and run these commands:
bootrec /rebuildbcd
bootrec /fixmbr
After that, go back and click on the "Startup repair" and windows will start without reinstalling.
The steps were described as good as I remember them...because I did it some weeks ago
If your windows icon on boot menu has disappeared you can also recover it by running bcdboot c:\windows from your installation ISO booted up at command prompt. (if you had installed windows fresh from ISO).
After installing the dual boot bios on my teclast air III (M5C5) I tried to install Windows. Unfortunately, just before completion the installation was cancelled because of the following error: "Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed."
If I start my tablet and choose Windows, I get the following Recovery page:
The boot configuration data file is missing some required information.
File:\BCD
Error code: 0x0c0000034
You'll need to use recovery tools, if you don't have them...
Press the WIndows key for UEFI Firmware Settings

Of course I've tried to press the Windows key, but nothing happens. I've tried all keys and several common combinations, but none of them did anything, except spamming Ctrl-Alt-Delete, which forced a shutdown.
I can enter the BIOS, but for some reason there's no option to select Boot from USB stick (only UEFI OS and Windows Boot Manager). The strange thing is that I've used this usb stick to install Windows on the tablet in the first place and I've tried both GPT and MBR and used a usb 2.0 stick in a 2.0 hub, so the usb stick shouldn't be the problem I guess.
But probably even worse is that I cannot get into DNX mode anymore, so I can't install Android either. If I try I get the following message (instead of " Waiting for fastboot commands" ):
BOM Selection Switch (SW1B1) has been changed, but cannot take action. system will reset in 3 seconds

Click to collapse
For some reason there is not much information about this error message and I could not find solutions to a similar problem ("BOM selection switch SW1B1 has changed Force_Windows"). In a desperate attempt I've tried to enable fastboot in BIOS to see if that would make a difference, but it doesn't.
Any help is welcome, thanks in advance!
Are U sure you have flashed/installed the right BIOS/Firmware ? double check it !
Also if your USB drive is USB3.0 your hub must be 3.0 too OR you must connect the USB drive directly to the OTG cable.

It was a 2.0 drive in a 2.0 hub. But I've tried with a usb 3.0 stick in a 3.0 hub as well and that doesn't work either.
I've had some problems flashing the BIOS. Initially I tried the simple method using the UpdateIFWI app (using the Mirek V7 rom and downloaded the UpdateIFWI app seperately) with the bios "Dualboot Bios Tested C6J6 And C8J7" from here, but that didn't work. Then I used the Mirek's flash tool to update the BIOS and unfortunately selected the latest version, which apparently is not compatible. Luckily DNX mode worked and I could use the tool in this thread to flash the correct BIOS. I used the dualboot bios from techtablets. It finished with FPT operation passed, but did not automatically reboot. After manually rebooting, it launched the screen with the options Android and a small Windows logo. I selected Windows and it started the Windows installer from the USB stick and the rest I've described above. If I start my tablet now, the Android and Windows logo are equally large (so it did install a part of Windows?). Unfortunately I haven't checked if DNX mode worked between flashing Dual boot and installing Windows.
I've ordered an USB programmer already
Hi, i tried reseting windows. The process begin 5%, 10%... After long time a message un the blues screen " there had a problemas .. No changes were made".
Now the windows dont start, i can see the first menĂº, i can run android, but when i tried fin windows the screen is black. I push the screen and it react,
I plug a keyboard, i repeat the reseting procesos, and i get always the same message.
but windows dont start. Pleased any advice.
same story, reinstalled from flash drive using image from 4pda
recovery/reset moves files and zeros the partition. maybe windows messed up or one got impatient? no matter.
download necessary firmware from teclast's chinese or english websites, enter the ID of your model to get links.
the english site uses onedrive to host files and the chinese uses baidu (you'll need to register free overseas account, just google).
you can actually use any other already prepared (bootable) windows usb installation, this is just easier as a stock recovery will reprint your key.
format a usb drive as fat32, make sure volume label/name of the flash drive is "WINPE".
copy all files from the windows folder you just downloaded.
make sure battery is fully charged, you will need a usb hub too.
connect a keyboard and the drive you just formatted to the tablry using the microusb adapter.
turn on tablet and tap delete repeatedly. once in the bios navigate to "save & exit" tab - "boot override" menu - select your USB.
wait. if you see a blue screen just repeat, its normal. process is automatic and tablet will reboot once the images are written.
