So I wanted to record a video, took out my Tilt, opened the camera and pressed the record button. For some reason, after 10 seconds, the recording stopped and saved without me pressing anything. I couldn't even view my recordings on my phone( they were in MPEG4 format, which my windows media player couldn't recognize. Worse still, I installed the newest version of the HTC camera and album (I think I previously had the 1.00 verson) to the 1.0.1030.720 verson. and I can only record videos for 1 second! How can I fix this and change the format so that I can view recordings on my phone.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have a problem with the HTC album, I have put a movie on there is about 700MB mp4 file (h.264 + acc)...
When I first copy the file to the device I can play it thought the album program fine, but when I stop the moive and come back to play it later it wont play...
When I tap it and it just shows the first image with the tap play button and the back send properties buttons, when I hit play it goes to a black screen (still shows the start bar up the top with the text "album") but it wont play again, it just goes back to the screen with the play button and the 3 tap buttons down the bottom...
Any ideas???
Seems to be fine in Windows media player (on the device)... What gives better performance (WMP or the album program for video watching???)
Thanks,
NW
I have practically the same problem.
I recorded a small movie with the camera, saved it as *.mp4 file.
When I try to play it using HTC Album, it just won't play.
I get sound but no picture.
I'm running Diamond Project V2 ROM at the moment.
I'm 1.37 WWE
Same problem here!!
when I'm gone watch a movie I recorded with the phone there is only sound no picture!
I guess It will fix itself if I do a hardreset .. but I really don't want that!!
someone got a answer to this?
Any news on this matter, have same problem?
Is there any software that records video in MP4? 3GP is so crappy, its too compressed.
i wish i knew, it would be awesome. tried to edit registry settings, but didn't work.
Manila cam is able to record CIF MPEG4.
I can use Virtualdub. Virtualdub is a well-known video capture, processing and editing software that allows you to capture video from an input source and perform simple video editing.
Where is point in converting 3GP in MP4?
My point is that i want to record in MP4 because qualitity format is better, you dont get better qualitity if you convert 3GP to MP4 later, do you?

When i click on camera button nothing happens.
Well, that depends to the ROM you use and what is cooked inside. If you have TF3D, probably you also have that cam app which is different from the cam you launch via hw button. There, in the video settings, you'll find the MPEG4 option to be chosen. But... don't expect a big difference in quality recording and, btw, this one don't record in wide mode.
BR!
Im using default xperia rom with that installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448178
Hello,
Yesterday I tried the Background Video Recorder 2 app (ex Secret Video Recorder 2 but Google removed it from the store, they are same) which resulted in a huuuugeee frustration. My phone is Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. I stored the videos on an external SD. When I got home to copy videos to my PC I saw that the app saved videos as date-clock.mp4.renamed so they are not video files. I removed the ".renamed" part and over the 50 videos only 2 of them worked (sort of- too much buggy) and the other files cannot be opened by any player (for example, Gom Player showed "Find Codec" error screen).
Can I fix those videos?
Thank you.
Hi guys! I'm having this issue. I usually use Kinemaster to edit my videos for my youtube channel. Strangely Kinemaster doesn't allow me to edit videos recorded with the Nokia 8 stock camera app, it says "codec audio not supported".
So I tried to record videos with several different camera apps (Open camera, google camera, a better camera...) and though Kinemaster accepts every video file recorded with these alternative apps, the audio quality of every video shot with other apps is terrible. A lot of noise, I mean a lot! I can't seem to work this one out. Anyone tried to record a video with a different camera app? How did that work out for you?
Thanks guys...
Did you try converting your video to another audio/video format?
So I've added the slow mo button for a longer clip and it plays fine on the phone but when I copy it to Windows laptop it just plays like normal video but with no sound. How do I save/transfer it with slomo please?

i believe the video is just recorded with a higher framerate and then the player adds a filter to slow it down. that's why you can acctualy play(modify) with the sequence after its been recorded. because its not acctualy recorded with the effect.

I noticed it too. When you record the slow mo video, it will show as a slow mo using the video player from Samsung... If I use another player like VLC or even Windows, it won't show it. I then realized, you need to edit and save it as a separate file to keep the slow mo changes using other players. Once I saved it, it created a new MP4 file... Now I'll have 2. The original and the edited one that will play in slow mo in all players like VLC. Hope it works for you.
Edit: You don't have to edit it. You can just save it as a separate file. I just edit it first cuz I want to change where the slow mo starts and finishes.
Sorted thanks for the info.
