Request For Help - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I broke my screen, replacement is on the way, but in the meantime my phone is stuck on vibrate.
Would someone please either post screen shots of the start menu, settings menu and the wireless manager?
OR
Just a walk through of getting to the wireless manager from the start menu
and then the position of the "speaker" sound on button when selecting using
just the direction pad.
Like:
Start Key
Up Twice to select settings
Up key to go to tabs
Right twice to whatever settings tab
Down twice, right once to select wireless manager
Down three times to select speaker....
I realize that this is a long shot, just thought someone would be a good mood that has the AT&T stock ROM.
Thanks in advance.

i have a quick question:
i recently installed the htc home 6 button screen, and the htc home customizer
on the program launcher window there originally was an icon that takes me to the comm manager/wireless manager but i removed in an effort to re-arrange the buttons. but now i cant find it in the list of apps to add.
would it be possible for someone to direct me on how to get it back? thanks.

When you remove an icon from the launcher, there should be an empty space with a circle with a cross in it. Pressing that, should bring up thelist of apps you're talking about. On my device, it is just a few scrolling lines down.
Have you tried just typing "Comm Manager" in the top bar and press select?
unfortunately no luck on the typing in and hitting select. it just goes to the closest match in my case "contacts"
It was originally one of the first six or so items in the selection menu, if its not there i dont know where it would be.
I want the same thing, to add the Comm Manager to one of the launcher buttons, rather than trying to tap the connection icon at the top of the screen.
i use pocket toolman 2 which places a icon in the system tray with a host of other icons you can select. its quick, easy, and free... good app
tvos
I am not 100% sure which one but either Schaps advanced config or KaiserTweak one of those two things have option to enable wireless thingy on today screen. It shows your current wifi and bluetooth connections and clicking takes you to connection manager. I would first try KaiserTweak.

Worked out how to do it earlier.
Browse to the windows folder and make sure you've got all files visible.
Look for the executable CommManager.exe, right click on it, select copy.
Browse to windows\Start Menu\Programs\Tools right click, select paste shortcut.
Right click and rename the new short cut from, "Shortcut to CommManager.exe" to CommManager
Then it will be visible in the list of applications you can add to your shortcut buttons on the HTC homescreen. You can use the same method for any other applications you want on the launcher if they're not available automatically.
(I pasted the shortcut where I thought it most appropriate on the start menu).
thanks 6thElement. that shortcut worked.
thanks TimeSaver. i used KaiserTweak to enable wireless on the today screen initially.
This trick did not work for me. I have the Dutty WM6.1 Diamond ROM.
I need to put the Connection Manager on the Today screen, so that it can show me what am I connected to, but it does not show up in the Today item list.
I created a Registry key for iy in HKLM\Softwate\Microsoft\Today\Items and it showed up in the list, but still does not work, brobably because I am linking to the wrong DLL.
May someone, who has the CommManaget on their Today screen see what are the correct Registry entries in HKLM\Softwate\Microsoft\Today\Items for the Comm Manager and post here?
never mind my previous post - I found that what I was looking for was called "wireless" and can be added through the Kaiser tweak....

Wisbar Advance on the AT&T Tilt

Got a question about Wisbar Advance 3 on the AT&T Tilt.
I've noticed there is something odd in the performance of the cascading Start menu function.
When I click on the start button icon on the screen, the cascading start menu works great.
When I press on the silver start menu "hard button" on the device, the traditional start menu comes up, like when Wisbar isn't running.
When I slide the phone open, and click the start menu "hard button" on the keyboard, the Wisbar cascading start menu works, just like if I had clicked on the start button on the screen.
1. Has anyone else encountered this?
2. Is there a way to get the silver start menu "hard button" to function just like the start menu "hard button" on the slide out keyboard?
Thanks in advance
i believe there is a setting in Wisebar adv to change this so when you click the windows button it will open the cascading menus. If no one confirms this, Ill load it on my phone tonight and double check

I found that setting, and mine is clicked.
I think the Windows button on the slide out keyboard is mapped differently than the Windows button on the front of the phone.
You are correct. I found this rather annoying, until I downloaded AEButton plus and remapped the key. Handy for lots of things but use with caution!
Just go to Start->Settings->Buttons and remap your Start button to the Cascading Start.
I tried that. When I do that, the button brings up the cascading start menu, then closes immediately. sometimes it does it so fast, you can't see the menu even pop open.

switching to landscape mode?

I'm sure there is a program someone has written to switch you screen to landscape mode without sliding the keyboard out, could someone point me in the right direction please i have done a couple of searches for it and scoured through numerous pages but cannot find it.
Thanks
AEButton Plus. You can set a button press (once, twice, etc) to rotate the screen.
start - settings - personal - buttons - change assign to a button to <rotate screen>
When you get wrong direction of rotation you need to go to settings - system - screen and change orientation
Then you will get changing screen to landscape,
i got that on hold button 6
Ok i have looked into ae button plus and this is just for mapping keys,in the default rom keymapper you can't select <rotate screen> as a option to map to a button.does ae button plus somehow make this command available to you?
Just looked again and found it...DUH!
Thanks guys
u need this program
this is the best program i was found its the same as the guy on top say.
i upload it to my privet server so u can download it www.webmotion-design.com/screen.rar its 2 small cab and install them both and then add a hard butten to one of them .koby
Great tip. I never realized it was in the list for buttons. I have always wanted this capability assigned to a button rather than a 3 step process. Thanks.
Thank you for the tip!!!!! Awesome... my Tomtom now displays as expected
mirorr please

Apps without visible menu button

Today I bought the HTC One with the surprise that it doesn't have a dedicated menu button. I am guessing that sometime in the future this will get remedied somehow, but in the meantime is there a workaround for this?
For example, on my previous HTC Desire phone, I was using Launcher8 as my main launcher however to edit its settings I'd need to press the menu button and then press settings.
Without a dedicated menu button, I can't find anyway to change its settings. So is there any way to get around this? or will I need to root my phone and install a new ROM for this? (which I don't want to do at the moment in case I void my warranty).
look for three dots in a line going downward on the screen, press that for the menu, there is no dedicated hard menu button
John.

Yeah I saw the menu icon in some apps, but I tried it on Launcher8 and the only way to access the settings was from the homescreen itself. There are no menu icons to press to get the settings as far as I am seeing.
EDIT: Actually, nevermind. I found that I can make an icon for it.
This will be fixed when HTC finally delivers 4.2.2. The leaked versions let you assign holding down the home button for settings. They should have done it like this in the first place. The 3 dots thing looks hideous.

[Q] soft keys have progressively failed

My soft keys have all seemed to fail and not responding to touch. It started with the back button and then I went into settings and rearranged the buttons and all was good for about a week. Now the home and menu buttons are not responsive or you have to tap like 20 times until it registers. I haven't dropped the phone or got it wet and I have the quick window case on it. Anyone else experience this issue? Is it fixable or is my digitizer most likely going bad? As of right now, the only option I have is to use the phone in landscape mode with the buttons on the left side of the screen. I will most likely reinstall factory recovery, unroot, save all of my music and pics and then factory reset. I even have the issue when booted into TWRP which leads me to believe that the digitizer is going bad.

Sounds like DEFINITELY a digitizer problem. The fact that it still does it in TWRP really proves that IMO

Try going to your hidden settings menu thru the phone's dial pad. How? - just dial 3845#*???# replace the "???" With whichever variant yours is. I'm T-Mobile so mine is the D959 so I use 3845#*959# … you don't have to hit send or do anything … it will automatically open up a menu list. In this list you will see a "Settings" option. Click it. Then in the next window, scroll down it's list towards the bottom and you'll see an option for "Update Touch Firmware". Select it. … you're phone will be froze and unresponsive for about 5 -10 seconds. Once it becomes responsive again just exit via the "back" key or "home" key or however you want. You won't see anything happen or anything change or notifying you that its updating or that it finished/or worked. It just does. Not sure if this will help you , but it heps fix mine when the knock to wake stops working. Just a idea give it a shot. It won't hurt anything. And don't mess with anything else in that hidden menu if you're not sure what your default setting is or know what it does. You can really mess it up in there. Good luck.

I gave that a shot and nothing happens after dialing the code; i'm on the sprint version. Was going to try flashing back to stock and see if that helps; trying to find the thread to do so and to download the .tot files.

I flashed back to stock and upgraded to KK. The button problem sorta went away; acts funny in some apps to where home or menu won't respond and takes a few taps for back button to register. I found the correct way to access the hidden menu for the sprint variant and screen test is showing a dead area when doing the drawing test:
The Secret code to access hidden menu on LG G Flex LS995 is different.
Dial 5689#*995# , You will access the hidden menu on G Flex.
How to Troubleshoot Problems Using the hidden menu on LG G Flex (LS995).
1. Dialer 5689#*995# ->
2. Select Device Test ->
3. Press Power Button & Select AATFULL(+power key) ->
4. Select All Auto Test – Full.
